My HG for my rosacea + very fair skin is the Murad City Skin SPF 50 PA++++! She’s expensive but the only sunscreen that doesn’t turn me orange, doesn’t dry me out throughout the day, and doesn’t irritate my skin
Love my Australian Gold tinted sunscreen. My skin is on the lighter side, but definitely has some warm undertones and I am a bit more on the oily side, so this sunscreen is perfect for me! I used to avoid facial sunscreens because so many felt greasy, as though they were about to slide off of my face. Not anymore! Goes on so smooth and creamy, dries matte and does no pill up on my face. Love it ! 💛
@@tanyukheng1828 Go with the medium-tan. If you have orangey skin tone. I’m on the fair-light side and the fair light Australian tinted sunscreen works really good. For example I tried the Colorescience Matte version and it’s too orangey for me
@@tanyukheng1828 I find that the tinted Australian Gold gives light to medium coverage. I use a light dusting of translucent mineral finishing powder to set it too, so I suppose that helps contribute to a "medium" coverage look.
Good to know! I didn't know about the tinted sunscreens, and the mineral one I have turns my skin really white. I look like a mime! Thanks for the review of Australian Gold.

Agreed! Even if I could spend these amounts every now and then I'd have to use much less than the recommended amount to make the tube last longer. I think the Cervave tinted SPF30 is good. Sunscreen is expensive but at least the Cerave is cheaper than these ones.
La Roche Posay tinted mineral liquid (but only uses titanium dioxide), CeraVe tinted spf 30, and I love Physicians Formula cc or bb cream (tinted spf 30). If you want to double up for security, try Olay mineral moisturing sunscreen (I love it alone on days I am staying indoors) with the PF bb or cc cream or CeraVe on top. 😎
@@jcs1090 Hi there, just wanted to say I have used the Olay mineral sunscreen and I like it alot as well untinted however. It's only spf 30, which Is rather use 40 or 50 since I have a lighter skin tone.
if you are in the US, I’ve seen many great reviews on the Versed Guards Up sunscreen. Unfortunately I can’t get it in Canada, but I have lots of other products from Versed that I love. very affordable 👍🏼
Quick update: I ended up getting the Australian Gold Botanical fair to light (I have very pale skin) and for the most part I really do like it as an affordable option. It feels really nice and mouse like, and I was even able to get my boyfriend to wear it daily too! But I will say that it does look still a little too dark and orange on my skin, especially if I need to reapply. It's not too bad though and I really like the matte look, it helps cover up my acne just a tad so it's not as noticeable. I'm considering trying out one of the other ones recommended here but not sure which yet.
I use the Australian Gold as a makeup foundation for daytime. It's a little drying in the winter, but I use extra moisturizer. Cotz also make a good one that dries matte.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Colorescience FLEX. What a game changer for tinted sunscreens! The coverage is amazing and no further foundation is needed. Glad you mentioned it here and I highly recommend it!
@@laurajones4457 I am of Filipino descent and am using medium - which is working very well for me. If you're fair skinned, I would suggest going with fair. Good luck!
I now wear the Colorescince Flex Spf 50 in the shade Fair. It has replaced my Elta Md suv Elements tint sunscreen spf 44. The Elta md was a little dark for my very fair skin but I love it still. FYI the colorescience flex works well with adding Nars Light reflecting Foundation and creamy concealer, if you need a little more coverage. There is no pilling. ❤❤❤
Just ordered Colorscience FLEX in Fair and Medium since I am a mix of two shades. I often have to do this with other products also. Dermstore had a great 25% off sale and also got a FREE full sized Colorscience Matte product value $42. Also free shipping so overall great deal! Based on reviews I think I will love FLEX since I have mature skin, dry-ish, sun damage, spots, melasma, discoloration, etc so I need all the harmful rays blocked but need the coverage too.
As an Australian, I must go with the Australian Gold. However, at this moment I am using Fotoultra 100 ISDIN Active Unify Color Fusion 50+ it helps with sun damage skin (I have) I must admit I like it. Made in Spain.
@@jenniferlee9029 I have more med olive skin so I’m not sure how the color would be for fair skin. You could always order it from Amazon they may allow returns?
Love this advise. I have similar skin concerns as you mentioned. I tend to stick mineral sunscreen because of my sensitive skin. A sunscreen I have been using lately is supergoop’ s Matte Screen. What I love is the texture of this formula. It is really soft when you apply it and it never irritates my skin. The colors blends in fairly close to my skin tone.
I adore the Australian Gold sunscreen as it is perfect primer for my combination skin. I am very fair but this sunscreen used as a primer for any of my make-up does not change the color of my complexion at all. I purchased once the Sisley tinted sunscreen paying 8 times what the Australian Gold BB cream costs. To my surprise the low price BB cream from Australian Gold was better than Sisley’s one.
I really appreciate how honest your videos are. As someone with eczema and sensitive skin, I appreciate the detail you provide so that I can make the best decision for my skin. Also, you look stunning!
La Roche Posay’s mineral tinted sunscreen is also amazing ! I have acne-prone skin/ oily skin and use it everyday, it really evens my skin tone and diminishes any redness I have. Highly recommend!
I'm sadly returning La Roche Posay's tinted sunscreen today (even though i've been buying it forever:( It layers on perfectly, matches my skin tone and doesn't break me out. Unfortunately I just found out that unlike its original (not the tinted mineral version), it relies only on Titanium Dioxide, so there's no Zinc Oxide to provide the Broadband spectrum protection (so you're left unprotected from the UVA rays). I'm so disappointed that it's something I missed - Dr. Dray has a video about it! Especially for the price point - it is 1.7 oz compared to the other mineral tinted sunscreens that not only properly protect you but have antioxidants and include great active ingredients such as niacinamide.
I love that product as well ! I’m mixed race and it does leave a tent, but it does not bother me. I love it. Personally, a white cast never bothers me because I know the benefits of mineral sunscreens. I love them. As long as I apply my colored SPF cc cream on top everything is good.
Bliss Block Star SPF 30 is amazing ! Not too matte not, too dewy, perfect tint, no white cast. Blends well through facial hair and beard. Only little downside is the smell of lavender oil. But other than that it’s been a game changer for me!
After trying many, many types, the Australian Gold is the one that finally got my 9 year olds (boys) to agree to wearing sunblock on their faces every day. Huge win!
@@mave143 I had to do Accutane twice and have spent a lot of time and money fixing the scarring. We have genetics working against us, might as well do the little things we can! Every morning as I help them apply SPF I tell them they'll be 50 with the smooth skin of 8 year olds and it makes them laugh.
I have used most of these mentioned here and always end up going back to the Australian Gold Tinted. I have combo skin and the "fair to light" is the only one I feel really protects my skin under the HOT & HUMID Florida sun (Miami). The others tend to leave a greasy feel to my skin, and I have to reapply more often, and as you mentioned the AG does not transfer, which is awesome.
I am a Colorscience original devotee, totally agree it is fabulous. Have you tried the Paula’s Choice tinted sunscreen? I’d love to hear what you think. It is my second best.
EltaMD clear also started pilling on me! The skinceuticals physical fusion tinted is what I use daily now, but it’s thin and does dry matte. My skin is on the drier side so I’m going to try to EltaMD tinted! Thanks for the rec!
My favorite is the Australian Gold in tinted. I heard they were going to alter the range of colors so I got ten tubes of the just tinted. I am very fair. Have mature skin so y use a good serum or primer under and it works just like a foundation.
I have all of the colorscience sunscreens and I love them!! You can mix or layer and create your own color. I am happy with this brand because I have melasma and I MUST wear sunscreen EVERY DAY. 💜
I love Beautycounter face sunscreen. It’s not tinted, but it’s heavenly on the skin. I just purchased the Colorescience sunscreen facial powder and it’s very drying to my skin. I use it on my husband’s bald spot, face, and ears and it works well for him.
I’m obsessed with Alastin as well! I also use the SkinCeuticals physical fusion and have to say it’s incredibly similar and a slightly lighter shade so might work better for your skin tone.
The Alastin Hydratint is my holy grail! I never use foundation anymore and reapplies so nicely throughout the day. I love the consistency and nice scent (no stinky sunscreen smell)
I use the colorscience and Elta both are great my favorites. I keep thinking that when I apply the Elta to my face feels like I am applying whip cream to my face so soft love it ❤
CS Flex is my #1 I have medium and tan and often mix the 2. I even mix the Bronze in as well. I’m combo oily and 41 and I haven’t worn foundation since discovering these. They protect my skin and give me a healthy finish.
Alastin hydratint is sooo good! I agree that it could be a little lighter in color for me also. I love all of their products! I want to try the Colorscience next.
I rotate through those in no particular order: avène tinted mineral sunscreen, laroche posay tinted sunscreen, vichy tinted fluid sunscreen, ombrelle tinted fluid. All of them are spf 50 or more and vary in coverage/consistency. I just use whichever one I feel like in the morning but love all of them
Thank you for this post! I’m oily/combination and acne prone so I go for oil-free types that dry down matte so I’m glad you recommended Elta MD! My holy grail tinted sunscreen is Supergoop’s Matte Screen SPF 40 ❤️
Good day Dr Ellis. I have skin similar to yours(as you described). I love tinted sunscreen as I am also low maintenance. I have mature skin(60) and have used Elta Md broad spectrum 46 and SkinCeuticals physical fusion 50. I purchased today Supergoop mineral sheer screen 30 at the sales clerks suggestion that it is completely natural product. Is supergoop an appropriate product for mature skin(also 30?). How does it compare to SC and Elta MD?for mature skin. Thank you very much
I love the Australian Gold mineral face sunscreen. However, as of late, it has been difficult to locate. I recently ordered 6 tubes from, of all places-Menards.
Just in time! 😃 Thanks for the video! I have been trying some sunscreens, and I have two fails: One mineral that is way too white One tinted mineral that is waay too dark and pigmented. I know it's not recommended to mix products, but since I don't want them to go to waste, I tried to mix them to get my shade and I think it worked, I'm able to use the right amount 🤷🏻♀️ they are both spf50. What do you think? 🤔
Yes, same question! I’ve found a great mix for my skin by mixing Olay Regenerist Mineral SPF 30 (moisturizing) + Australian Gold tinted mineral SPF 50 in fair/light tint (too drying for me if used alone). The combo gives me enough moisture and I can apply the proper amount and my skin feels good! Both are mineral only formulas…. OK to mix? Is it correct to think that I am likely getting about an SPF 40 if I’ve mixed equal parts? Inquiring minds want to know! 😄
Drugstore: Cerave tinted sunscreen is definitely more dewy/ oilier so I use in winter. Australian gold is “heavier”more for summer for me since it can be drying for people with dry skin, but I am more combo/oily. I love the Australian Gold!
Once again, when I tune in and watch your videos I catch myself putting on another layer of sunscreen:), which I'm now addicted to....Thank you for helping so many of us in our sunscreen journey!
My Dermatologist just recommend the alastin for me and while I like that it doesn’t transfer color like the cerave does, it’s still too light on my skin. I really wish there were more options for deeper/ warmer skin tones. Maybe the botanical one will work better for me during these Florida summer months..
I LOVE the Sisley SUPER STICK SOLAIRE SPF 50+ TEINTÉ. Amazing for 40 year old dry combination skin. Looks beautiful. A bit dark in color, but looks awesome on my olive skin tone. It's a one and done, no need for makeup. Does not get into fine lines, makes your skin looks great. So happy I found this. I don't like to wear much makeup, and am trying to use sunscreen daily. I HIGHLY recommend. Worth the investment if you are sort of lazy about sunscreen and don't want to do heavy makeup everyday. Covers all my sunspots, imperfections, beautiful.
Colorescience actually gave me hyperpigmentation after using it for only few weeks so I ditched my powder colorescience sunscreen even though it's so expensive!! When I stop using it & just went back to plain white my melasma start to fade away! There's something in tinted sunscreen that doesn't go well with my skin that develop into pigment in my nose & cheekbones!
I recently found out and also bought Avocado zinc tinted Moisturizer..it's really good.. I had to wait for 40 days for the delivery but it was worth it.. It's from Perth Australia. Delivery to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
So glad I found you! Was looking initially for info on Tazarotene (as a possible alternative or switch-up to my .05 tretinoin) and this fab review popped up right afterwards... I am almost 60, and have been mostly focused on good/preventative skin care w actives: tretinoin, l-ascorbic/c serums, and glycolics, also adding hyaluronic acid and niacinamide (cerave PM+La Roche-Posay Tolerian Double Repair....the only major category I've neglected, I think, is peptides...) In any case, of COURSE I use sunscreen daily, mostly tinted (as I don't use foundation and enjoy the slight cosmetic enhancement) and usually 100% mineral; when I learned about the chemical concerns, I migrated almost entirely to all mineral blocks w titanium diox/zinc. ... I HAD been using Eltamd UV Physical SPF 41, pink n peachy, almost a good match for my fair, cool/neutral complexion, but then it got discontinued and I found... Colorescience (Original) 50 which has been my GO-TO for 3 years now -- though when I go running I don't like to splurge $$ and instead use Thinksport Everyday Face SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen - Safe, Natural Facial Sun Cream for All Skin Tones - Water Resistant UVA/UVB Sun Protection - Vegan - which feels SO good, and is a relatively good match, though might also work for slightly darker... It has some good stuff in there, too. In any case, it was so reassuring to see that YOU TOO, like COLORESCIENCE and recommend it. I love the feeling, the dewy glow, the good ingredients, all of it... When I saw that FLEX had launched, I FREAKED OUT, worried that the classic would be discontinued. I even called Colorescience (or chatted, I forget) and they said they had no plans to do so. Still, your feedback on that NEW-ish product has enticed me to maybe try it, and of course, I'd go with the lightest... SO MANY of these cast an orange hue, so I'd be curious how the flex adapts to my skin tone... I am also curious about the hybrid NEOVA... 10 years ago, I was GOO GOO for their Ti-Silc which was AH MAZING, too... it had peachy-pinkish tone, and was so elegant, so dewy, people ALWAYS commented on how healthy and beautiful my skin was...So, I'm curious if this Neova Silc Sheer 2.0 is the rightful inheritor of what HAD been my holy grail. Even so, the cost is somewhat prohibitive, and it's a hybrid...But as you say, it may be JUST that tweak that makes it so elegant. The classic Colorescience container is SO deceptive -- it keeps giving and giving, lol, and just when you think it's empty....nope, just be patient, turn it upside down for a few secs, and voilà - always a touch more. Anyway, I wonder if you have NEW or different additions to you FANTASTIC roundup here, as we are now 2 years later.... But, better late than never, as they say: I FOUND YOU now, and will do some catching up on your videos...As a 'mature' woman (God, there has to be a better term) who clearly cares for her skin and staving off effects of aging, I do scour quite a bit here on UA-cam.... I've JUST discovered the possibility of Laura Geller baked balance n brighten, and other items in her line, to play just a little with a hint of makeup. We shall see... For now, I love using a tinted moisturizer, doubling as a subtle foundation, along with mascara, lips, occasional blush. THANKS AGAIN for sharing your results and recommendations; such a great review on the most important element of skincare, IMHO; SUNSCREEN. I've subscribed, of course, and look forward to CATCHING UP on all your reviews, and bringing myself UP TO DATE....😊🙏😊 You are such a pleasure to learn from, and so I've ALSO turned on the ringy dingy notifications thingamajiggy, too, in Thanks again.
I’m so glad I found your channel. Finally a dermatologist matching my skin (tone and dryness). I will definitely try your suggestions because my skin is dry, and I struggle with sunscreens. Also, I love tinted sunscreen because I don’t wear make up every day, but I like an even look. I did not know that tinted sunscreens added protection. Thanks for the info ❤
I love Neova SPF44! The color comes out a bit yellow-ish…but by time..my skin becomes healthy glow brighter effects! Look like a very good tone up sunscreen! I mixed beauty of J rice sunscreen with Neova. It’s even better!!!
I use the Australian Gold BB cream. I love it, but I'm concerned about the fact that it only has 4% ZO and 4% TD. That seems rather low for SPF 50 and makes me wonder if I'm getting adequate UVA protection. Typically in an all -mineral sunscreen, I usually don't see less than 15% total of active ingredients. What do you think, Dr. Sam?
I swear by Elta MD clear sunscreen both the tinted and non tinted one. I have oily acne prone Asian skin. It doesn’t clog my pores and even noticed improvement in my skin texture and acne scars. I only use this in the am and Cerave night moisturizer at night other than cleanser and my acne cleared up. Definitely worth the price.
I have been using the Elta MD, but started noticing peeling. Also the packaging gets so dirty and the pump stops working before you finish the product. I love it, but I cannot stand the peeling. Sooo after watching and hearing good things about Colorscience, I am going to try the Flex.
i found your video trying to find reviews on the tinted elta md sunscreen. i love the non-tinted one but it does pill on my skin if i'm not gentle with application and dont give it enough time for my moisturizer to absorb in first. so glad to hear the tinted pills less for you, so i'm going to try it! thank you
I really love Dermaceuticals Sun Shield liquid SPF 50. Very runny, watery ..comes with a dropper..but dries down so beautiful & has a great finish. 1 oz is about $20. Perfect alone or I wear it under a BB or CC cream. Perfection!
I've tried about 25 different mineral sunscreens and all of them make my face feel parched after about 4 hours, and my skin looks so dry. I can't stand that feeling. So far, the one I've found that works best for me is a chemical one - PTR Water Drench SPF 45. I'm still on the hunt for a mineral. I'll try a couple of your suggestions. The Elta MD nor the Australian Gold worked for me...so drying. The Elta MD also smells terrible.
o thanks goodness someone else found the Australian Gold drying... I thought my face was acting up when I saw my face drastically dried up after 1 hour of applying Australian Gold... I saw many good review of this sunscreen and bought one for myself... unfortunately I didn't check out the youtuber's skin type before buying and forgot that i'm on the dry side :(
I have the same problem and so far, the best mineral I've found (not perfect but better than many others) is the VICHY ULTRA-FLUID MINERAL TINTED SUNSCREEN LOTION SPF 60.
A little late on viewing this video. Skin: dry, sensitive, with rosacea (although currently well managed/controlled). My all time favorite tinted sunscreen is EltaMD UV Physical SPF41 for extra-sensitive and post-procedure. It is the perfect color match and feels so amazing on. It never stings and I don't burn with it. It works well under foundation as well, although I really like it alone. I have another new one that came in my BirchBox that I'm enjoying as the weather is getting cooler here in Wisconsin. It's by IPKN and it's the Moist & Firm BB SPF 45.
I have similar skin from your description and I purchased EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46 as it was highly recommended but it pills something terrible on me; with or without moisturizer and no way could I apply foundation with it. Do you have any experience with product pilling with your EltaMD product? I found with sample of la Roche-posay tinted mineral SPF50 no pilling even when foundation applied over it as long as I wait 10-15 minutes to ensure drying but by 8 hrs Skin from The corner of my mouth down toward chin is beginning to look dry.
I have combination skin but even on drier days I can still wear Mychelle Sun Shield SPF 50. It's just so good. And as my natural oils break through after 12 hours I can look perfectly glowy and not oily. It's just beautiful and comes in 4 shades.
Hi dr. Ellis, great video. Very informative 👍. What color is your Colorscience Flex Sunscreen? I ordered the fair, but not sure if I should’ve purchased the medium.
The fact that I'm 46 years old, have suffered from hyperpigmentation my whole life, and am just finding out about the need for Iron Oxide in my sunscreen for the first time this week makes me want to apologize to my teenage self for all of the lingering spots that could have been avoided. lol Thanks to you and Dr. Alexis Stephens for enlightening me via UA-cam. I had always heard that tinted mineral sunscreens were better for POC, but never received and explanation as to why until I found you both. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Also, I'm a HUGE fan of the EltaMD UV Clear and just received the Colorscience sunscreen the other day and can't wait to try it. I also use the Biossance sunscreen and mix in a bit of the Bare Minerals for Color Corrector (for the iron oxide) and that has been great as well. All of the "deeper toned" ;-) people should try it.
and...OMG agree on the Alastin, If it came one or two shades lighter this would be an HG sunscreen-agree-yes! the finish is incredible-just beautiful and feels amazing on my sensitive skin. The color is just too deep-dark that I can only wear it by adding a bit of it to the non-tinted version that Alastin offers,. It is much too expensive approach!
Such a great video, I love tinted sunscreen!! Colorscience Flex is tough to beat, although I have to mix the fair and medium shades to get a nice match. I have oily, acne prone skin and rosacea and the Colorscience does not cause any issues for me. Hope to see a similar product from Prequel in the future!! Drmtlgy sunscreens are also very nice but a little too shiny for my oily skin. Alastin is lovely but too dark for my skin tone. I wish they would make more shades!
I have tried so many sunscreens and they just feel so heavy especially the Elta md Uv elements that I’m getting so frustrated and using tretinoin sunscreen is a must if I may ask your opinion at 63 is using a Retin A a waste of time fir someone my have with dry skin with fine lines and wrinkles great video love the content
Love the Australian Gold. And a great price, don’t have to pay for shipping is a plus. All the others you mention I have to get shipped to Canada. I did order Drmtlgy original and enjoy it too. It’s my daily one, but if I need water resistant I go for Australian Gold
Thanks Dr Ellis for including clips of application so we can see the end result for each sunscreen. Ironically the Australian Gold is not available in Australia!!! It's made in Florida and not distributed to Australia so that one is out for me!
I just found your channel & I’m so happy I did!! You have such incredibly informative videos on skincare issues of all kinds. I have a very fair, sensitive, cool skin tone. You have a new follower who really appreciates all of your hard work. Thanks again!!🙌🙌
Brand new to your channel, thanks for sharing! I've been using the Australian Gold sunscreen, but have dry skin. I started adding 2-3 drops of facial oil to the sunscreen and mixing them together before applying to make the finish less matte and more hydrating. Is this ok to do? I make sure I use the same amount of sunscreen as I would without adding the oil.
This is fine to do, but you can not expect to have the same SPF protection if you dilute the sunscreen. You are better off preparing your skin with an appropriate moisturizer, and once it has been absorbed, you can apply sunscreen.
I'd love if you reviewed Naked Sundays, their range. The glow screen 50+ and the serum 50+ and the mist 50+ they are Australian made, I've just ordered them but never tried. But thousands of 5 star reviews. Would love to hear your opinion ❤
I have medium-light toned olive skin tone and combination skin. The Australian Gold bb sunscreen was too drying and the tones were too pink for my skin. I can return it to Bed Bath and Beyond, but I will add moisturizer and cover with powder sunscreen to make it work for me.
Hi Dr. Sam. Thank you so much for this❤ pls how do re-apply sunscreen, especially when you are outside? Do you wash it, clean with a wipe or what? Especially for people that wear makeup. Believe me,I just started giving attention to sunscreen because of hyperpigmentation. Pls your response would be appreciated 😊
I would love an updated version of this or just daily use Sunscreens for 2022 with only Cruelty Free products. Great video. thanks!

Fotoultra 100 ISDIN Active Unify Color Fusion 50+ it helps with sun damage skin (I have)
I must admit I like it. Made in Spain.
My holy grail is Elta MD UV Elements! I don’t have to wear foundation and it’s so easy to apply!🥰
Is your skin dry?
@@cristadaly5819 I have more oily skin.
Is the tint good for fair skin? 😊
@@jenniferlee9029 I have more med olive skin so I’m not sure how the color would be for fair skin. You could always order it from Amazon they may allow returns?
@@jenniferlee9029 it has quite a dark tint. I wear it but only when I have fake tan on
Love this advise.
Advice
Wich one? Can you tell me the name please
Does it keep your face moisturized ?
I love that product as well ! I’m mixed race and it does leave a tent, but it does not bother me. I love it. Personally, a white cast never bothers me because I know the benefits of mineral sunscreens. I love them. As long as I apply my colored SPF cc cream on top everything is good.
Bliss Block Star SPF 30 is amazing ! Not too matte not, too dewy, perfect tint, no white cast. Blends well through facial hair and beard. Only little downside is the smell of lavender oil. But other than that it’s been a game changer for me!
I haven’t tried a few of these!! Looks like I have more sunscreens to purchase!
Hi Ms. Yara!!! Nice to see you! I like your channel as well.💜
Can you try the Murad Mineral spf too I loveeee it, and I just ordered the ColorScience glow face and the body bronze spf to try 😬
This is immensely helpful I can tell you love to teach
The Australian Gold comes in 3 shades! It’s my all time favourite 💜
All Australian Gold sunscreens suck the moisture out of dry skin and age you faster with wrinkles than any other sunscreens. Cannot use!
After trying many, many types, the Australian Gold is the one that finally got my 9 year olds (boys) to agree to wearing sunblock on their faces every day. Huge win!
It's my holy grail too!
@@JKRBW that's so great that you're starting them young. 💗
Omg SAME! I live in Fl and do CrossFit and that Australian Gold one is my holy grail!!
@@linniccarmotomamiit's the best!! I'm having the hardest time finding it, online or in store. Only the darker shades are available. 😔
I like this too. But my dark spots are seen through. Any recommendations? Multiple applications then looks cakey.
Dr Ellis I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. So straightforward and to the point! Can you PLEASE do a video on your every skincare makeup and hair routine?💕
I absolutely love the Australian gold sunscreen. The only one I use now
I love Beautycounter face sunscreen. It’s not tinted, but it’s heavenly on the skin. I just purchased the Colorescience sunscreen facial powder and it’s very drying to my skin. I use it on my husband’s bald spot, face, and ears and it works well for him.
I’ve been using Elta MD tinted sunscreen for a few years. I totally love it! What do you use for sunless tan?
Loved Sam’s hair like this.
I rotate through those in no particular order: avène tinted mineral sunscreen, laroche posay tinted sunscreen, vichy tinted fluid sunscreen, ombrelle tinted fluid. All of them are spf 50 or more and vary in coverage/consistency. I just use whichever one I feel like in the morning but love all of them
I do the same…I rotate sunscreens depending on what I am doing …without tint if I am going to wear foundation and tinted if no foundation day
Looking forward to trying any one of these.
I found it on Amazon!
In Scandinavia we pay $45 per tube. I didn’t realise it was so cheap in US
Just in time! 😃 Thanks for the video!
I have been trying some sunscreens, and I have two fails:
One mineral that is way too white
One tinted mineral that is waay too dark and pigmented.
I know it's not recommended to mix products, but since I don't want them to go to waste, I tried to mix them to get my shade and I think it worked, I'm able to use the right amount 🤷🏻♀️ they are both spf50.
What do you think? 🤔
I also mix my sunscreens (both with high spf) because one gives me a really bad white cast. I would love to know the answer to this too! 🙂
Glad to know I'm not the only one 😬
Australian Gold tinted, my hands down winner!
I brought the Neova based on this video, and I love it! Thank you!
So happy to hear that!
The best complement! So happy to help on your healthy skin journey!
My Dermatologist just recommend the alastin for me and while I like that it doesn’t transfer color like the cerave does, it’s still too light on my skin. I really wish there were more options for deeper/ warmer skin tones. Maybe the botanical one will work better for me during these Florida summer months..
Cerave tinted is the best for dry sensitive skin! My holy grail.
It was too dark for me but the formula felt great on my dry skin too.
It felt too greasy for me!
Such a great video! I love the MyChelle Tinted SPF 50! Really good for oily and acne prone skin and wonderful coverage.
Thank you for mentioning an option for us cooler skintone gals. I’m going to try the Elta MD physical one.
La Roche Posay tinted sunscreen is the most natural and light I have found, yet evens skin tone beautifully.
I love la roche possay tinted sunscreen!!! Australian gold fits my skin tone the best but it leaves my skin feeling a bit stretchy? Any tips?
I can't thank you enough for your pointers and medical guidance. You're great!
I have used Peter Thomas Roth sunscreen. It is more dewy. I have very sensitive skin and right now, my skin loves this sunscreen.
Welcome!! Love your insights and thank you for the support 💛

Thank you so much for your reply. I watch your videos daily and have learned so much. I just ordered your prequel products and can’t wait to try them🙏
I’m so glad I found your channel.
Have been loving your channel - always wonderful. Thank you!
Sooo after watching and hearing good things about Colorscience, I am going to try the Flex.
i found your video trying to find reviews on the tinted elta md sunscreen. i love the non-tinted one but it does pill on my skin if i'm not gentle with application and dont give it enough time for my moisturizer to absorb in first. so glad to hear the tinted pills less for you, so i'm going to try it! thank you
every dermatologist i’ve seen is always so gorgeous
My favorite sunscreens are both the DRMTLGY sunscreens you mentioned.
I follow you from Italy! Thanks for such useful videos . I admire you as a person and as a doctor
@@jackiebrown1971 haven't tried that one. I'll look for it. Thanks
I wanted to love the Cerave hydrating tinted sunscreen but it clogged my pores 😭 my dry, dehydrated skin loved it upon application ~ but alas!
It’s the worst
Same!
I like your channel because you share a combination of luxury and budget priced skincare.
Great review - I add a couple drops of serum foundation to Bondi Sands face fragrance free 50get the right shade ❤
Hello Dr. Sam, I learned so much from your video! Thanks! Can BB cream replace Sunscreen? Thank you
Hi dr. Ellis, great video. Very informative 👍. What color is your Colorscience Flex Sunscreen? I ordered the fair, but not sure if I should’ve purchased the medium.
Shes using fair
Please recommend ones for Asian skin + more affordable options for acne people! 💗
The Netoegena Purescreen tinted is great too. Comes in multiple shades and is at the drugstore.
Great reviews and so helpful! Do you need to wear moisturiser under the CS Flex? Thank you 😊
The fact that I'm 46 years old, have suffered from hyperpigmentation my whole life, and am just finding out about the need for Iron Oxide in my sunscreen for the first time this week makes me want to apologize to my teenage self for all of the lingering spots that could have been avoided. lol Thanks to you and Dr.
Love to hear this!! Always learning when it comes to skincare!
and...OMG agree on the Alastin, If it came one or two shades lighter this would be an HG sunscreen-agree-yes! the finish is incredible-just beautiful and feels amazing on my sensitive skin.
Thank you! I mix the Flex the exact same way!
I need to try the one from Australian Gold :) Also, your hair is so pretty and shiny we might need a hair care video ^^ :D
Is it ok to layer a chemical sunscreen then apply mineral tinted on top? Especially when going out in sun for proper coverage. Thanks
Love this!! For the even less maintenance gals, any recommended tinted moisturizers with sunscreen?
Thank you for your video very helpful 😊
Could you please do a top 5 of something of you favorite fake tans? Thank you so much
Just found this channel I really enjoyed your video thank you for all your advice 😀👍
Wondering where you buy your AG here in Canada? I’m skeptical about buying it on Amazon
Thanks Dr Ellis for including clips of application so we can see the end result for each sunscreen. Ironically the Australian Gold is not available in Australia!!! It's made in Florida and not distributed to Australia so that one is out for me!
Really?
I just found your channel & I’m so happy I did!! You have such incredibly informative videos on skincare issues of all kinds. I have a very fair, sensitive, cool skin tone. It’s hard to find products b/c so many pull orange/warm on me. This video was so helpful! Thank you so much for explaining how each product would look on a cool or warm skin tone. This was so helpful!
Thank you for looking for neutral tinted SPF!!! EVERYTHING looks too dark and yellow or orange. Or pink
Hi Dr.
