- Even though life living off the grid has been anything but simple we continue facing every obstacle in our journey head-on. In pursuit of a minimalistic lifestyle, we continue with our dream of building our own home in the woods of Tennessee. With progress continuing on the platform build that will soon house our new tiny home we hope to be moved into our new Geodesic Dome soon after the holidays. With winter temperatures fast approaching it's now a race against time to finish our shelter in the woods before the coming storm. We are glad to have you all along with us on our homesteading journey and look forward to sharing our alternative lifestyle with you

You can also dig a little French drain for the water to go. Give it a pathway so the water flows where you direct it. ( under the platform)
That is definitely going to be part of the design. Try to eliminate as much water moving underneath as possible.
French drain should work beautifully!

If you have not looked up Taylor n Todd on UA-cam. They built a dome on their property in Canada. If you go back in their videos will give you some insight on the installation process. Good luck on the build n will be following your success. The light at the end of the tunnel is in sight.

So ~~~ There ya go! I spend an hour or so every morning with You Tube. I am a retired "Social Worker" lots of training and a fascination with "Sociology." Your site is awesome. This is what the "buy in" is. No kidding here. Video's of your work and your "process" are very valuable. Imagine 200 G views in two days after posting. You do have to post once a week. Jes ~ show your video skills. Get a drone and learn how to use it. Forget about the dome for a while. it's about making "content" every week. Don't build the Dome too fast. Think about solar. Think about a well. Think about a "battery bank". Think about what your ideal goal is. Also show the "teamwork." Highlight that. Not about a bunch of people "putting things together and "being cool" in the woods. It's about "Sean & Jess" living your best life. You have my attention and subscription. Best wishes. OMG OMG OMG!!! Tears of joy rushed into our eyes as we saw the delivery van turn up. You've waited so so long for this moment. Ahhh Jess's face was priceless when she saw the van. It's like all the worries left her in seconds. Adapt and overcome. You've become experts at this. Sean, well done with covering the pillars with dirt. The camera does not do justice to how much work you've put in. And nor does the camera do justice to the work Jess does. Every day waking up to go to work when all you want to do is be outside, it takes motivation and dedication. But that, friends, we always knew you had! BIG congratulations on this HUGE milestone!! Now Seans' mom has to come to celebrate this massive achievement. Merry Christmas, and cheers to a new start and a fantastic 2023! Love you loads. It's been awesome having coffee with you guys this morning.

Place where you at I called HEAVEN , with your tallent and skill , you could build another house for renting , I really love the surrounding, it’s so amazing , great move , 👍

You guys know if you get a few of those ( Ozark trail emergency blankets) they cost about $3 each, and staple them on your ceiling and mabey on the walls around your bed,..they reflect heat. They are thin, but amazing at reflecting heat back down. Staple one on the ceiling above your propane heater to. It will keep you much warmer in there. CHEEP.
I saw it on Duel survival. Cody built a tent out of plastic, put the silver blanket on the inside..far side of the tent. Built a fire outside beside the tent. They said it was 11 degrees outside but inside the tent it was 70.
I just told Jessica what you said and she was like let's go get then now.. it's cold in here this morning so I will probably do that.. thanks buddy

@@OffGridGrowing I hope it works for you, like I said, I saw it on TV ( duel survival) but get yourself some fleece blankets, they bounce your body heat back at you..I know that because that's all we buy. Cody said the UV from the heat those emergency blankets bounce back so..good luck guys. You should at least tack up plastic wherever the emergency blankets don't cover. Before the 5 degree day comes, because no insulation you will freeze. Mabey the walls beside your bed...stuff some of that straw behind the plastic. Throw one of the emergency blankets under your sheet .
You get too cold you can't get warm again. Once you get hypothermia, you get disoriented, then your screwed. I hope you have more then a little budy heater, ..if that's what your using mabey you should throw up a 2x4 or 2 n tent around 3ft away from your bed, n just keep that warm. Just a suggestion. Like a small room
From one builder to another please get a pair of safety glasses and protect your eyes. Sawdust or a ricochet nail does not feel good. Love your alls videos and progress.
