Looks like Julio got it right! Nice result like this and for cheap is always a good thing! Thanks Mike.
Sweet Project Cars thanks👏😀👍👍
Just look at that Sweeeeeeeeeet Shine!!! 👍😎👍
Great result spc, keep up the great videos!
victor thank you so much for that :)
I’ve got a relentless grinding job where completion of a project is measured in months and years and success is often subjective. Using your techniques on my cars and trucks has been therapeutic for me. Beautiful and unquestionable results in practically minutes. Thank you so much!
David thank you very much for your very kind comments my friend ...mike
Best SPC comment of the day! ✔️
I've been using this very carefully on the plastic under the hood I'm glad to hear it's safe for the alternator in the whole motor thanks I learned so much from your Channel
This channel is on my top 5 of preferences...every video is super helpful.. good job and please keep uploading videos ... I have to say that my favorite is the one where you show how to restore leather seats
This is the best car channel in youtube. There are many good ones, but this one is the best because it shows you how to do things on a budget and the right way. Kudos to you Sweetprojectcars.
tree fiddy We try really hard to try and save good people money with limited products
This has definitely become my absolute favorite DIYer channel on youtube. Thank's, you guys! And by guys I mean you and the mouse in your pocket.
Thank you so very much for giving your knowledge all around the world I watch your videos religiously and decided it was time to try this on my 1. 2001 Honda Civic, 2. My 2003 Dodge pickup, 3. 2007 Chevy Colorado all engines are in perfect working condition so with that said I also did the headlights on all 3 with your guidance all by hand and it came out SWEEEEET! I have decided to start my own business thanks to you. Thank you again.... I never reply to you tube but you definitely deserve the praises of all your you tube fans. Can’t wait to learn more Your fan for ever.
Bart Mendez good to hear that and we wish you tons of success it is a great trade for sure :)
I did this today on my 2003 GMC Sierra and it worked great! Thanks so much for this. I didn’t have an air compressor so I just used old rags I had laying around. It did take the whole can but works as advertised. I think it may work even better if the engine is slightly warm, not hot just warm. Thanks much!
Scott Newton god deal my friend we are glad it worked for you and you are correct a slightly warm motor works very good thanks for sharing :) mike
Oh damn!!!!! It's been a little bit since I have been on here but I'm back!! You guys are still banging out great tips!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing as always, and Julio congrats on the promotion!!!!
Definitely gonna give this a shot. Messed my spark plugs up once before using a degreaser and pressure washer. Water free way👍
This is great. Way better than any UA-cam video that involves multiple chemicals, tools, pressure washers.
Thank you very much glad we could be of help have a great night mad Mike sweet project cars
I used this method to clean the engine on both my truck and car. This is easy and it makes it look brand new again without any problems to the electrical system. Thanks.
Great job! Thank you for watching and sharing your results, hope you have a fantastic weekend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Just when I thought this couldn't be improved you made it cheaper to do without compromising the end result !!!!!👍👍 thanks again....
kcdaniels58 thank you very much our good friend and subscriber :)
I used the Meguiar's Tire Foam and it really worked well. Thanks for the video, this was very helpful. I sprayed it on, waited 5 minutes and blew on it with the air hose. Wiped with a cloth any areas that were still a little grimey, and then repeated the process one more time. I am very happy with the results, and would not have thought of this.....Thank You !
Most cleaning type tire foams do a great job in this process thank you for sharing have a great day Mike Sweet project cars
It’s like you guys are reading my mind and then post a video! I just washed, cleaned, and 9H coated the Honda plastic engine cover on my 2006 Ridgeline and was just figuring out how I was gonna clean the engine bay without using hi-pressure hose.
Not ashamed to say it, I have a SERIOUS man-crush on you guys @Sweet Project Cars! Or as I’ve learned, I “ship” you guys hard.
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Sounds like you’re all set my friend glad we could help
Great job Julio is right this is an awesome tip going to have to try this myself I spend way too much time under the hood to keep it clean once every four car washes
703 CRUIZ'N you will love the results my friend :)
Usually these kind of cleanings in my experience only last for a day or two. Once the shining agents in the spray wear off usually you'll see that there is still a layer of dirt on most of the components. I think using a brush to agitate the dirt off of the surface while using a cleaner works best.
Heathclor no need to do any of that my friend just spray this on and wipe it off and you are good to go and you will have no side effects with dust or anything else
just wondering how it cleaned up those usually oily valve covers. I use super clean de-greaser from walmart. Soak it then wash off then i apply dressing and only a thin coat so it doesnt attrack more dirt.
TheCamaro5 it cleans everything spotless in minutes and safely.
As I mentioned in the first video you did with this cleaning method, Outstanding job! Always a Sweet Looking Ride with cheap and affordable ways to detail /maintain your vehicles! Keep up the great work gents!
Halsey Marcoux always great to see you my friend and loyal sub !!! mike
@@SweetProjectCars always great to know that my loyalty is appreciated here with the Sweet Project Cars Crew! Keep on rockin Mr Mike!
Halsey you got it my friend :)
Got a 3.8 Cutlass and was always concerned with washing the engine bay because I didn't want it to short out my wires and spark plugs etc I was gonna take it to a spray place and power spray it first but was wondering if I need to cover anything with a bag or just leave it running spray as I go?
Wyatt Powell we do it just like you see in the video we do advise against power washing with water. Always check with your manufacturer before doing any of our videos...
Great job as usual
Julio Caesar Chavez comes through!!
Lol
Merry Christmas
I wiped my engine bay down first then hit it with the turtle wax tire foam not to much but hit it in areas I needed. Let it sit and came back wiped it all down just to recap on the spots.. Looks nice!
IBF good deal glad to hear that :)
Thats funny, sitting here watchen your video and at the end a quote, "wheres the franks hot sauce" I have some right in front of me hahaha
This product and the next best one is way too expensive to order here in Northern Ireland.
I know this may not be as good but would it do? Gunk Engine Degreaser spray foam.
It's an old diesel, 26 years old although I guess that's not important. Should I cover the alternator? Thanks guys.
what does it cost to ship from the usa to you?
Do you have a video on how you made your xtended spray nozzle? Thanks in advance. Another great vid by the way. I just did my sons jeep headlights with mothers aluminum polish, man easy peasy :)
Neil if you look in the show more of the video description you’ll find all the tools in related videos even for the handy-dandy air nozzles and good to hear that your jeeps headlights turned out awesome
This works! I just tried it. I was amazed at how well it does.
Awesome, Robert! Thank you for watching and sharing your fantastic results, we really appreciate it, have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
*Spotting that bare loom harness behind the alternator- probably saved the Customer from a future untimely breakdown. Awesome spit shine job, Julio!*
Yeah we fixed it up for them no charge that’s the great thing about working on your own vehicle you get the find things like that could be a serious problem down the road
Tire shine spray works great on the frame and wheel wells
Joshua Neal it sure does thanks for sharing your tip my friend
Here in South africa we use Rally No Hands also white foam spray also spray everything use complete can then close the hood next morning open the hood and whipe to a buff looks brand new.
Wow!! Amazing is right! Thanks for sharing. 👍✌️
i have a 2019 toyota vios with a cvt transmission.. is it safe and ok to use any tire foam to clean the engine bay? im very afraid to do it. please help - im from the 🇵🇭
Looks good 👍, i think ide rather do this than spray it with pressure washer at car wash
Is there a lingering odor from the cleaner afterward or does it dissipate in a few days? Thanks...
lavapix no ill effects of this method in any way :)
Works great I've been using foam tire cleaner on my engines for years no problems. Also works good on exposed frame rails on truck and fender wells.
Yes it does. I've done that also! Works great!
After applying the tire foam twice, can I spray it off with water instead of wiping it with rags? It seems to me that there are some spots that rags will not reach.
J. Wilson you can spray it off with whatever you like my friend we are just showing you the way we do it so it does not cause any issues thanks mike
Been using that method for years. Tire foam will also keep those black and grey plastic parts such as bumper trim, cowling etc. looking new without the messy silicone look.
Clarkecars you got it my friend :)
Wow looks great! Will definitely try this after a little more research.
We have been doing it for close to 15 years on over 2 thousand or more of our customers vehicles with Neverr and issue have a great day
Glad i came across this video. Doing this tomorrow. Julio was right.
Another great, simple and affordable way to get the job done! I have a question about keeping mice out for winter storage. I know a clean engine is where to start, but what is the best way to go about keeping out pesky rodents and other things to do to get your car ready for storage months? Thanks so much!
Funny you ask.... we are working on a video pertaining to just that! We will have it out in a couple weeks. Thanks Billy! Have a great afternoon, keep your eyes out for the vid. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars Did you put up the mice video yet? 😲
mouse traps? I put peppermint oil on cotton balls around my dad’s car. It smells like a dentist office haha 😆
Doesn't putting tire shine attract dust and dirt? My tires usually look good then get dirty looking
Bryan now lets chat for a minute my good friend...as a 40-year-old and still growing detailing and repair shop we would never do something to a customers car that would cause them more issues...our main job is to make issues go away.
They used Turtle Wax tire CLEANER, not the tire shine.
I've done this to all of my vehicles and dust/dirt accumulation is no different. This really makes the engine shine.
@@Wakeywhodat you got it my friend :)
Matco Mark thanks for helping out my friend :)
Another greeting video thanks Mike but I do have a question do you have a video on how to fix a cigarette burn hole in a cloth car seat
bruce worman this video will work for cig burns ua-cam.com/video/xKaeUGVDzIU/v-deo.html or this one ua-cam.com/video/WabtZKKb5wg/v-deo.html
I've used NO TOUCH tire care before & it works!! Even on the dirty paint on the passenger side fender, just wipe the painted potion with a rag before it dries. Heck might be the same stuff just branded differently.
forgotmylogininfo you can use what you like of course we are just sharing what has worked for us each and every time..
So what would you advise to dissolve the bugs and grime that get stuck in the radiator without dissolving the aluminum in the radiator?
We use super clean straight undiluted sprayed on let it set take a power washer and they come right off
Doing that in reverse is a good way to fill the can back .LOL
I was all revved up for this one , what a job
Martin we appreciate that my friend have a fantastic night
Nice! This is good! I will try it! Did you clean the top hood?
We clean everything under the hood with this method my friend you will love the results
OK, FINALLY got around to this project this afternoon - used the Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire Foam - and MAN, did it ever work really well! My engine looks almost new. Had to get inventive with the powered-air step - got my very powerful backpack blower and used a stepladder to get just above the engine - worked awesome! GREAT, tip. What I liked most (besides the result) is that it's so easy. LOL, I shudder to think I've used a pressure washer in the past.
Nice!! Way to adapt and overcome, excellent job! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your process, we really appreciate it. Hope you have a fantastic day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
I did not see the name of this product link unless the is tire foam cleaner. Thanks!
Ron L you are correct
So the foam based tire cleaner is also safe for engine bay inside the hood?
Are you guys still using chamois to dry cars or have you switched over to micro fiber towels?
Mike Morales we still use air to dry them so they are not touched whatsoever
Beautiful. I think you had a similar video before and you use ARMOR ALL TIRE FOAM?
Edwin Coolet we do have that other video as mentioned in this video we were just showing an even cheaper way to do it my friend.
Very nice tip Mike. Thanks and keep up going!
Thank you very much Mr. Nico we truly appreciate that if you could do a small favor and share our channel and Videos that would really help us out
i have a question, i really like your homemade tire, vinyl, leather, and rubber protector, why couldn't you use it the same way you used the McGuire's tire spray you used to detail the engine compartment.
Great point! you could as long has it has a cleaner in it
Is this only for plastics? I bought a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, thing sat there for a while and collected a lot of dust and grime. Would this be okay to put on a supercharger? The engine?
this will work on all the engine compartment no matter what the material
Thumbs up! Thanks for all your videos. Love them!
thank you thank you we appreciate that and if you could do us a favor and share our videos and channel that would be great
Just found your channel. Love it! And they are awesome to say the least.
Great job
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you with us Greg. Thank you for watching and commenting, have a fantastic day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
I'm gonna have to try this on my CUSHMAN, & lawn tractors.
Really nice,I believe I would hit with the hose first ,but still it does an incredible job !
Nice Job !!! Definitely going to give this a try..
👍👍👍
Reaper Ronin you will love the results my friend :)
I used Armor All Tire Foam on a Buick and it came out beautifully. It took all of 1 can. Two cans would have been better. It was great to clean around the under hood sound deadening material under the hood. I’d never been able to clean that.
Would I be able to use method this on a Prius engine?
Thanks. Love your videos!
That's awesome, thanks for sharing. Take a look at this video if you are wondering about the prius ua-cam.com/video/snk8xeMhfUs/v-deo.html Thanks for your question. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars thank you. I’ll be cleaning the Prius tomorrow.
Can I use 303 after and just spray it just how you sprayed the can? Or do you apply small amounts in a towel and rub in?
90s Kid you can just spray it on and wipe it down all at one time..remember though the 303 is not a cleaner like the tire cleaner and shine
@@SweetProjectCars Just did this looks awesome no 303 but Damm never stared at my engine bay that long 🤣 Thank you Sir! You are the best! 😃😎
If the tire foam gets on your exhaust manifolds it won't stink after the engine gets hot?
we have never had that problem here it works great
Awesome video, I have a question car that I need to do this too is a Kia and it’s Ecu sets in engine compartment behind battery do you think it’s safe to spray it too?
Mike Ross everything on a motor is safe to use this on other than items under covers of course. if it's covered by a factory cover its fair game for cleaning it this method :)
Sweet Project Cars thank you
I use greased lightning cleaner from dollar general its $1 and then dollar store tire shine. Looks great and the engine bay is decreased. Ill definatly try your method and compare.
Thank you very much for sharing you will love the results of this
Pretty amazing......imaging that!!! Time to give Julio a raise. ;-)
Leonardokite ya that was the tough part lol

Ya,,,mo money for julio
Good job Julio 👍
Love your videos you are the wizard of oz of cars I have done 4customers cars of mine this way and Made a pretty penny to thank you my wizard
Thank you Tony we truly appreciate that our new Sweet project cars charter member
Looks nice, I personally like getting under the hood and degrease and hand wash every nook and cranny. Not big on the slick shine effect, love that fresh, new, “you can literally eat out of your engine bay” look. Been using the armor all and air hose method for a while now however. Helps out on those dried out shabby interiors too and hard to reach areas.
Well Noah I can tell you this you are a very rare person who likes to keep their Engine bay that clean other than us here some people subscribe to this channel and do not even enjoy working on their car I don’t quite understand that AnyWho glad to hear your fanatic like us have a great day Mike
Sweet Project Cars it’s a lot easier to keep one that clean living in the south, especially in the winter months.....those techniques and using your seat repair techniques have helped me make my 2000 Z71 look brand new inside again.
Noah you’re one of the good ones that’s for sure wish we had many more just like you that share our affinity for keeping their vehicles looking great
Sweet Project Cars Thanks. Your channel has already been highly recommended to some friends in the used car business. They really appreciate your content too. It’s amazing how many people don’t actually know how to properly clean and repair simple things on a vehicle. Keep up the good work!
Congrats Julio! 😄

bruce worman you are very welcome my friend :) mike
would this method work to clean 2-stroke trimmers and leaf blowers? Possibly lawnmower engines? Just a lot of extra oil and junk on them.
Larsen & Larsen Auction Company we use this first on those amzn.to/2JPbmqQ then use the video in question
Excelent job Julio!!!!
Auto enthusiast & racer who loves your channel, thank you very much. Next, Think I missed something on how its $ 2.37. I use the expensive cans of tire shine like in your details section, did you make some of your own cheap ?
LOL, that's called inflation Blake :( Crazy huh! Thank you for watching and sharing, have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Is tire shine not grease? seems like you would want a degreaser to clean the engine.
David Anderson you want to use the tire shine with the cleaner in it..that's where the cleaning part comes into the picture.
Thank you for sharing I have a 1988 bronco and I was looking for a effective way to do it and not hurt the old electronics and hoses when I clean it in the spring I am sure the engine bay has never been cleaned in 20 years
Itz_not_ brennan you will love this and it is safe for everything and no bad fumes it may take a couple times to get a real dirty engine bay clean.

Can one use the liquid version of the tire foam? that's all we got here or it has to be the foam Turtle wax at all cost?
Please follow the video to a T, there is no other alternative, use the exact same tools, products and method, as shown here 3c5.com/4u6dj We've spent years perfecting this process. Thanks for watching and asking, have a great week.

We do this on every vehicle type, we suggest this amzn.to/2QsqFI0 Thanks. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars Thanks for the reply! You guys are a great help indeed. Quick follow up question. Should I cover any parts such as alternator or anything that can be damaged by this can? Or should I just spray and leave it on everywhere and clean it with microfiber towel? Don't want to ruin any parts. Thank you
can you use this in the air filter box?
Simple green works pretty good also, along with Bleche White tire cleaner. It doesn't add any shine though...
Make sure you get the simple green safe for aluminum. The original will etch aluminum
I got a 1984 GMC Sierra classic I used purple power and degreaser and a power washer needles to say I had to re wire a big part of front . What advice would u give to some one with a older car with tons of much and grease build up ? What product do u recommend ?
For heavy buildup we like to use mineral spirits works real good and it’s cheap
@@SweetProjectCars Will mineral spirits damage the electrical, rubber or plastic parts? Also, do I just put it in a spray bottle to apply?
@@AikidoTubeSock yes just spray it on and focus on the heavy grease on the valve covers and motor then use the tire spray for everything else my friend :) mike
we use mineral spirits at work all the time to decrease things,I work in a machine shop, also gunk engine degreaser works wonders just make sure you use the stuff for heavy grease and let it do it's job
Not a problem if you don’t have an air hose/air nozzle to blow off the residual I assume?
Allan Johnson no air compressor needed, you can always wipe it down with some shop towels :)
Looks good, thanks for the tip. 👍
Thank you very much my friend we truly appreciate that
So the trick is not to use any water? When rinsing this off, just compressor Air am i right or Not?
Captain Nostromo you got it my friend no water ever! just some air and if you don't have air then just wipe it down with 5 or so towels :)
Wooooooow!! That's not only CLEAN it's SWEEEET&FOAMY!! Really,, that is a cool way to clean up the engine bay!!😉 Alot easier then the ol' pressure washer!! It just blew my mind 🤯 way ta go SPC 👍
Thank you Ed it is very simple to do that’s for sure thank you for sharing with us have a great day

Hi. I have a question. How to clean the inside of coolant tank?
Is the coolant tank on the vehicle or have you removed it and want to clean it, because removing it is the easiest way to clean it let me know and I will tell you how to do it my friend
Looking good! Thanks
Scott thank you our good friend :)
Nice method, gorgeous engine and thumbs up for Who-Lee-Oh!
Thank you very much we truly appreciate that Gracias
Idk... I think my kids are even bigger animals. I prefer the name gremlins 🤪
I use oven cleaner from dollor store works good and also get some purple power that's all what I use a pressure washer or just using regular water hose too but I always cover up the alternator to keep it from getting wet from water or anything and if the vehicle has a computer underneath the hood that's visible that could get soaked also cover that up as well . And then use compressed air after all of that and its clean . but I will never ever use shine stuff on my engine or anybody else's all that does is make a mess and make it worse and collect dust and dirt everywhere
CD'S Automotive & Repair none of that is needed here, just spray this on and blow or wipe it off done, with no chance of damage to outlying body paint or bad fumes.
Oven cleaner is to caustic
Congratulations Julio ! "ABOUT TIME" you get the proper recognition of your hard work.
I been using Turtle wax brand dressing after friend says good stuff last few years. Growing up in the 80s it was uncool use Turtle wax brand for some reason with my Detialing friends.
Kyle growing up in the 80s as well I’m with you on that I don’t know what the deal was why it was so uncool
@@SweetProjectCars No clue..I think we thought it was cheap. My Dad & his friends use Dupont 7..We started Car cleaner wax by Maguire's ..then went to #7 Maguies mix with #3...SOS pad and Mothers polish on the aluminum and stainless steel...Buff the exhaust and gas tanks on Buick GN. LOL
Is that stuff okay to spary on the alternator?
