Laird Hamilton has always been one of my personal heroes. Tony Hawk is up there too. Something about people that say fuck it and live their lives the way they want to.

It's cool that Joe interviews guys that are experts in areas that he knows nothing about like surfing and skateboards. That shows he has a wide variety of interests and always wants to learn new stuff.
We need!! The Laird vs Goggins Games! We need this. 5-10 endurance psycho man competitions with these two pitted against one another 1980s Wide World of Sports type television. The very first challenge would be the how long can u stay under water challenge in those cheesy plexiglass tanks...one of them would for sure pass out before they gave up and went for air. That's prime time viewing right there!
Yeh that would be cool to see. I reckon they'd bounce off each other and would get along well. Laird might not be quite on Goggin's level but he's way more hardcore than the average man - and he'd definitely have Goggin's respect for that. I'd love to see a session with them together
Broke my femur on the reef at a 12. Foot day at Spreks on N shore Maui. A tough day where 2 waves came together and slammed me into the outer reef. The swim through the inner break was absolute torture. Big kudos to those Maui lifeguards who got me off the beach and to the hospital for emergency surgery. @@nathanmartinez2630 🤙 I do stay out of the water in October, when all the great whites congregate in my area. It took being knocked in the air by one in October 1999 while surf kayaking in front of our beach house to motivate me to study them in a deep dive. That is such a funny coincidence! It's even more of a reason for Joe Rogan to have them both on together. Heck maybe the three of them could start a podcast lol!
Skating wouldn’t benefit from strength training. The fine motor control required through your legs and feet would be diminished with strength training.

I was kinda surprised that Tony explained "backside" the way he did. Pretty simple.
