That unexpected fall asleep cracked me up. You can also make the dupe to move - it wakes him/her up right away and it would (usually) pick it up where it was before falling to Morpheus arms :)
Hahaha, yeah, Ren trolling me pretty hard. I think they had an update recently that wakes them up if they are sleeping during work hours, so it has definitely gotten better over time.
i know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
Each critter or egg needs 12 spaces. Eggs count as a critter. Which is why you build the ranches to 96 tiles. That way you get 8 critters in a ranch. 8.5 hatches make enough coal to keep a coal plant running 24/7. 2.5 hatches feeds 1 dupe once you get you ranches up and running. Usually that's 80 to 100 cycles depending on how lucky you get on stone hatch eggs early on.
This game is so complex but it looks so adorable that I bought me a copy. I just started and I selected no sweat mode. Now I'm trying to learn what there is to learn from this game and so far this ranching looks really cute....and useful.
I just got oni a few weeks back and I am binge watching so many of your videos, these are really helpful. I also like how beginner friendly these are (that you explain everything in depth). Keep up the good work!
Nice, I didn't know how critters worked at all! Finally those hatches sitting everywhere can finally stop just eating all my stuff on the floor and they can actually be useful!
Lol yeah, im on cycle 400 and my base does not look like that. More like a series of terrible compromises to prevent collapse. But those are excellent tips on the hatches/ranching. Once i get my solar up and running ill have to redo my ranches so that they are more productive.
i'm not sure people should get attached to the starting planet. i drug my feet to 700 cycles not messing with the 2nd planet.. then.. after i got my water and environment under control i go and make a drywall room way up in the space atmosphere for the telescope.. cuz my asteroid doesnt have reeds for the suits.. then i realized after 'scouting' with the telescope does a single side of the asteroids hexagon .. and there's soooo many squares to unlock in space.. so many.
dude great job man. i really like how you set up your guides. with most other guides i've watched theres always so much going on on the screen and its hard to make out what you want exactly and i feel like you explained it at the perfect detail level where a noob like me was able to follow. many thanks!!
finally picked this game up a couple days ago and have been tryin to learn it, jsut starting to dabble in critter taming, but have been at a loss on how to do it, since coal has definitely been an issue, this was helpful thx
I'll be making these smaller ones more regularly, otherwise making a huge one would take me weeks sometimes, so I'll cover the more vital stuff as soon as I can :)
have been binge watching your videos even tho i've played ONI for 3yrs and have 1k hours in. I've never made it past - maybe cycle 200? I have some other YT channels I just followed their walk through but never really understood or had the nitty gritty basics explained. So now that we have all the new stuff from Spaced Out DLC - I don't know how to apply the basic concepts to the new elements and the YT channels don't have any content showing how to work with new mechanics (as major changes come out monthly - namely the food changes). So, I'm going back and just learning the basics so I can understand the concepts and come up with solutions for the new stuff. So, TL;DR . . . Thanks! :) *oh and YES, I DID watch the WHOLE power tut! lol - where's my cookie? :P*
Love youre videos. watching all of them as im learning, just got the game a week ago. i still find it overwhelming on how to build electricity and renewable water, it looks very hard. but either way, you got +1 sub man! :)
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! I am on cycle 40 ish and I finally have a hatch farm and coal power, I have a question unrelated to the video, but what is a really fast way to get skill points for fresh printed dupes?
You're welcome! I... honestly don't know, haha. From what I understand, duplicants get XP (they might call it something different) from doing tasks, and I think the rate at which they get it is tied to their science skill.
Doing things is 1 one way. A manual power wheel is another. They run on it. It builds skill points to use because they are doing something all the time. But early in the game your Dupes should have tons of stuff to do. So they should level up pretty fast. They level faster doing things they like as well. If they love is digging and they dig. They'll get exp faster doing that. So skill points are faster. Tip don't use skill point in something you don't need. Just because you have points doesn't mean you have to use them. I end runs with 40+ skill points on Dupes I never use. Using them costs morale. So put points in things you need. Not just to put skills because you have them. My ranchers end up using 6 skill points. I don't need any more. They ranch. You take 3 points in supply to carry more and suits to get critters outside the base. 3 points to get ranching. You could spend more but why? They don't leave the base to do anything else . They don't build, dig, farm etc. That's one of the big mistakes people make spending points they don't need raising morale needed. You only never 12 morale to do the job why spend skill points to need even more morale.
Hey I just started playing this game and you really helped a lot! Just wanna ask 1) How long did it take you to learn everything about the game? How did you learn, was it through youtube videos/wiks? 2) Related to Q1, how did you find the time to play the game for so long?
Hahaha, great questions. 1 - I don't actually know everything about the game. I'm still learning a lot on a regular basis, and my commenters/viewers have already taught me a ton of things I didn't know. I mostly learned from experience, some forum posts occasionally and some videos occasionally. I tend to enjoy the learning process on my own, so most of it was just messing up and trying again :) 2 - I have been playing for almost 3 years, and it's just been investing a few hours here and there over a long period of time. My downtime is mostly playing video games, and this one has been my "primary" game for a while :)
About your hive/death room, the part where you say "as soon as they are adults they'll get moved back" at 17:41... how did you do that? Whom do you tell what in order to fill the other rooms? Either you manually set the wrangle... or? Please? :-)
I think you said you found information about this in another one of my videos, but I'll still respond here assuming that I'm wrong about that. They get moved back automatically when they are adults because duplicants won't automatically move baby versions of critters from one drop-off to another. The priority I use is any room where I want them to produce a lot of eggs, the drop-off = 7, and the room where I want them to drown, the drop-off = 6. And yeah, you need the drop-off in the drowning room so the duplicants will actually move them there. They won't be able to pass through a door unless that door is explicitly marked to always stay open.
I know this is an old vid but: I have appropriate room size, it’s enclosed, it only has a grooming station and the arrow thing in it, and a couple light sources. Whyyyyy is it still saying it’s not a stable??
This could get complicated For Ranching part 2? All different critter types, depending on food? (e.g. Hatch - stone, sage etc; Dreckos etc) PokeShell / Shove Voles / Puft / Pacu etc. Does anyone farm Morbs??
Oh man, you should have seen my planning for the MEGA tutorial on this subject. I wasn't ready to make another 2+ hour video, so I decided to break it up. And yes! I farmed morbs in my Oasisse run because that was literally the only oxygen source I had. It worked, just not super well :D
I think if you activate and enable the debug mode: (oxygennotincluded.gamepedia.com/Debug_Commands#Activating_Debug_Menu), and then press CTRL+F4, that should enable everything.
ya. you called it learning at start of video. i was just watching an old video of yours trying to figure out how conveyor works and listening to talk about sweepybot. now my thoughts searching for how to automate farming. youtube is so terrible. finds 3 year old videos of people lightspeed with paintings on everyblock. saying. farming so easy. everything so easy with their 30 minute pewdiepie videos. well its not easy finding useful videos.
Dang, sorry about that. This is one of the reasons I started making these videos, cause this game has changed a lot, and I think we can use some more updated and comprehensive tutorials for this game.
@@Magnet_MD it sure has. i drug my feet to 700 cycles learning this. and just fkn relized about drywalling telescopes at the top space tiles to scout out a tiny surrounding planet square. this spaced out is so huge. it goes waaaay beyond filling rooms with paintings. i have no idea what rockets do or those lunar scout ships do. oooh my gosh.. so much to learn.
I always assumed you needed the critter trap to get a ranch started, which needs plastic, so I always mucked about placing wild eggs in dispensers to get the ranches started *facepalm*
each critter has tempetures they live in and some they die in, however I think all critters can be cared for without an exo suit. for gas, it wont matter unless its a puft ( that eats polluted oxygen) and the pacu (must live in water) besides that, keep anything thats not a pacu out of water and you should be good.
