    Thank you for the design. It looks easy enough to raise up as well. I am a tall guy and hate low spaced, but you can always add to the base.

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  7 років тому +1

      If you want it taller, just make it less wide at the base. By doing that it will make it taller and thinner. You can also get a longer hog panel and do everything else the same.

    Hi there great greenhouse DIY the basics are there any alterations can be added to ones own specifications ie i would build a raised bed down each side fill with compost mixed with black kow manure.... tomatoes cucumber one side the other side green salads .. melons and maybe a grape vine...might think of making it a walk-through so you could take in a wheelbarrow when needed.. also walkthrough circulates the air better reduces plant infection...... OK thanks for your posting really good advice easy to follow very instructive ....Ed

    Great idea for a greenhouse. A couple of questions: what is the wire gauge size of the cattle panels you used, and what is the finished size - length, width, and height (at the center) of your greenhouse. Thanks.

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  7 років тому +1

      I don't know what size gauge it was, they only had one option. The wire is about 3/16 inch think though. finished outside dimensions are length-13 foot 3 inches, width-7 foot 3 inches, and height at center-6 foot 6 inches. I will do an update video this spring.

    Will you cover the grass inside to kill off weeds /grass with dark polyethene? I would have dug it out then laid down card board- soaked it then covered it with compost down each side made up of well rotted Cow manure - mushroom compost and other green compostable material. The middle you could have laid down wood chippings to act as a walkway. Looks sturdy enough. This could be adapted to make a 20ft long greenhouse but same width I expect?

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  5 років тому +1

      yes you could definitely make it longer. and I ended up just raking leaves in it from my yard it killed the grass. Thanks for the comment

    Hey, I’m wanting to make a greenhouse myself! I love your idea and construction. I was wondering if you could share the materials and whatnot. Also I was curious if you are hired to build something like this by chance. Thank you in advance!

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  5 років тому +2

      It is so easy no need to hire anyone. Just make a rectangle box with 2x6 (or whatever dimension of wood you want.) Make a rainbow with the hog panel in the box, then cover with plastic. I used reinforced plastic, but any thick clear one will do. then you can staple it on, or us wood strips like i did. Good luck!!

    I noticed your doorway does not provide a seal (there is an opening 6:36 ) Do you lose a lot of heat through that crack?

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  5 років тому +1

      Great comment, we actually did not design it with a seal and we open the windows to let pollinators inside the greenhouse. There is no loss of heat, it is always warm in there.

    I'm interested in building a greenhouse like this. Is $150 just for the plastic and treated wood only or it also includes the cattle panels?

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  5 років тому +1

      The cattle panels were included, however it you make it shorter you can save $$, also if you don't make it as long take away some of that price or if you make it longer add some price.

    How is the greenhouse holding up since you've built it and what were the dimensions? Did the plastic hold up well?

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  3 роки тому

      Plastic needs replaced every 2-3 years (we have high winds). Frame has held up well, dimensions would be adjustable depending on how many hog panels you add and the length of them, watch the video again for a reference.

    Hi Lambert Acres,
    For the "Integra All Purpose Reinforced Plastic Sheeting", description "Clear String Reinforced Sheeting, 27 lbs. size 20'x50'" and SKU "568-0090"
    Questions:
    ☠ Can you give me an update as to whether this plastic has hindered the amount of sunlight coming in that would possibly slow down production of growing?
    ☠ Would you purchase this plastic again?
    ☠ Why didn't you bring the cattle panel up to 4 inches to give you a little more headroom?
    Thanks in advance !
    -Danny

    • @lambertoutdoors
      @lambertoutdoors  7 років тому +2

      1st question-the only negative about growing food in this plastic is that in the summer it got hot inside the greenhouse. We had the door propped open and window open. I don't think that had anything to do with the plastic though, that is just how greenhouses work. it did not slow production at all.
      2nd question-Yes I would buy it again. I still have not had to replace the plastic, no tears, or rips, no discoloration, no stretching, no problems what so ever.
      3rd question-i built it for my woman, if you watch my other videos with her in it, shes a little thing and doesn't need height, but would do better with more ground area. I wanted her to be able to reach the top inside to tie stuff on cattle panel too.
      Thanks for the comments Danny I can see by the playlist you have created you are going to be diving in to this gardening thing. I suggest using greywater for and also try aquaponics. Using greywater is a secret weapon. Good luck and God Bless

      For anyone that lives Texas, we know that temps can get well above 100 degrees and stay over months on end and plastic faded/melts over time here. With that being said, I contacted Menards and carefully researched the issue myself before purchasing. Here is what their response was "Greenhouse film is manufactured from special grade resin and contains a very high level of Ultra- Violet inhibitor….the Dura-Skrim 5680090 does not contain UVI and is not rated for long term outside exposure. Would not recommend for greenhouse application." So, I bought mine from FarmTek with a 4 year guarantee. Sun Master has UVI on item number 108658. 20x50 $128 shipped!
