Hi Evan! The greenhouses will be so useful for you this next growing season. I like the way you have made different styles and are using them in different ways. I finished my greenhouse last spring, made it using pallets and some rigid greenhouse panels one of my neighbours was throwing out. We don't get snow where I live (or frost!) and can grow year round, so it's always amazing for me to see how much snow others get! Greetings from Naomi in Tenerife, Canary Islands

@@TheNorthBranchWI no really problematic bugs, we do have small lizards though. The island is quite small, and we don't have many predators here. Our main problem is water, it can be very dry here and there are no rivers or streams unless it rains (which happens about 1 week per year). I'm fortunate to live up in the mountain at about 900m above sea level, not very high I know compared to some places in the US, but for here it is! I'm often in the clouds during winter time, and am looking into how I can collect the water from them. I did have crops growing this winter, but my chickens escaped their pen when the wind blew the gate open, and they ate everything. I won't be able to replant as it will soon be too hot for the winter crops, eg cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale etc

Hi guys, I can hardly wait to see your 2023 gardens! Last year, I thought they did very well and produced alot of good healthy food for y'all. This year is going to be fun to watch as most of the garden beds are done, and you can concentrate on getting the best produce out of the beds. You always make your videos interesting and provide a lot of gardening tips and information for your viewers. Hopefully we can get some huge harvests. I still have a lot of building projects I plan on taking on, I will be busy, but we will have this place made into a well-oiled machine (hopefully) haha I am glad that you can take something away from our videos. I like the winter chicken shelter/ compost generator idea for the hoop house. Curtis Stone in British Columbia is having good success with that this winter. Green house makes a nice place to get some sun on you to stay healthy and happy in mid winter. Cheers!

Super impressed with the temperatures in your A-frame. Can't wait to see the temperature results in your Stick Frame. I was planning on a cattle panel build, but you may have convinced me otherwise.
Thank you! And we are big fans of our rigid panel builds. More expensive, but should last a lot longer and be more effective, too.

i would love to know how much the first greenhouse in this video would cost.
Also i have a question. Some greenhouses has matted windows and some have clear windows. So the light is different inside. What is pros and cons between the two types?

Thinking of building a greenhouse, I will go with the vertical sides and an A roof, I like the more traditional look, looking at some options for framing,, looking at 4x3s at 1050mm or so centres to match the width of the polycarbonate, I like what you done with the 4x2s at 20" centres, could you frame it with galvanized metal studs?, it's much cheaper here than timber. I live in a damp temperature climate in Europe, the timber rotting , not much snow here, but it can get windy, would be the main issues for longevity, and I may need to consider some cross bracing maybe
Do you have roosts for the chickens?
They have a coop. I should have mentioned that. They all walk over the greenhouse to hangout eat, and they walk back to lay and roost.

Is it a heavy wet snow there? As we’re in on the prairies where it’s a lighter snow. Just watching your ultimate guide to DIY greenhouses as we’re going to be building one soon.
Nice thank you! And I would say we get both. Earlier we had an ice storm followed by wet heavy snow and trees were bent over for weeks
On the one you had to open up the sides, you could secure a piece along each side that you could roll up to vent, then let it down when it gets cooler. That's what I do when the plastic is on mine. In the summer I do take the plastic off and secure shade cloth over it, instead, leaving the bottom 2 feet open. At my elevation the sun is just too intense.
Last winter I used a low watt heater in my tunnel on an extension cord, just to test it out, keeping the contents from freezing. The snow melted off the top nicely. When the snow got too thick to access it, I gave up.
This year I won't heat it, but I plan to put two layers of 6 mil up, with a layer of bubble wrap in between to see how that does. It will help extend my season on both ends with no plans of using it to grow anything in the middle of winter.
