Can you give me the dimensions of the custom table you have for it? I like the idea of not pulling out the entire media console too far from the wall, thanks!
Nice content and sharing! I'm planning for a 100" set up with LS800B. However, distance from screen to sofa is at 2.5m. Would you think its too big for this distance?
I think this should be fine, totally depends on your personal preferences though. I really like how immersive 120 inches is in our room and our sofa also isn't that far away from it.
Hi Andy, I built this one on my own. It's basically a table with 2 feet that I cut to the right length. It can slide freely, which is good for adjustment.
Probably not, as this completely deletes the purpose of the ALR screen, which you would have to mount upside down then as well. Not sure if it has more negative downsides as I haven't personally tried doing it. Hope that still helps!
This screen does no longer seem to be available on Amazon in the US. But here's an alternative that I've heard has similar quality: amzn.to/4c9obUK Just make sure to look out for an ALR screen that supports UST projectors. Standard throw screens will not work. It must be compatible with the ultra short throw technology. Hope that helps!
Hello! Thanks for the detailed review. I wanted to ask about the sharpness of the picture. I looked at many reviews and Epson is often compared with other DLP projectors, but all reviews are made with standard settings and it is difficult to understand how Epson is better or worse in terms of picture sharpness. Can you share your impressions?
Hi, I'd say that sharpness is alright but not spectacular, although you can fine tune it to your liking of course. I noticed that it is definitely showing up when you're presenting from a computer monitor. Not all parts of the screen are 100% in focus, which could be happening due to an imperfect installation in our case though, as our wall is not 100% uniform. It didn't bother me too much though so far and we really enjoy watching movies on it just like in cinema, but with better seating and better food. 😉
May I ask what is your eye level relative to the bottom of the projected image? I like big screen, but in my case I am worrying if the projected image is too high to my eye level. Thanks
I'm currently on Cyprus so it's a little hard to answer this exactly but from memory I'd say it's about 1/4 to 1/3 from the bottom. We never felt like it was a problem though, but then again we like to sink into the couch instead of straight sitting, so it might depend on your seating as well!
Very informative video. Following all your instructions to set up a similar home theatre for myself. 👌👌 I have one question though. Is it possible to use any wireless adapter 802.11 b/g/n to work with epson LH LS500 or only the epson wireless module will work? Can you please tell us which one did you use? Many thanks in advance😊😊
Hi, I'm glad it was helpful for you! I actually used the wireless card it came with (Android TV version) and really like it so far because you also get a unified remote from Epson that works for both the projector and the Android TV user interface. You could probably get something like a Fire TV stick, etc. but you'll end up with two separate remotes eventually. I haven't tried another streaming stick though, so please take my last argument here with a grain of salt. If there's anything else you want to know, don't hesitate to ask!
@@ashutoshmishra5777 One other firm reached out to me for a review but I haven't accepted it yet, so I wasn't able to test any other ALR screen with this projector in my own four walls. But before I bought this screen, I went to an expert that was selling different types of ALR screens and they did not actually have this particular screen, which I found surprising. The screens they were showing didn't convince me personally and were quite expensive as well. I got this one for a great price and would absolutely recommend getting one at the same price. But as far as I can tell, the price can vary a lot between different countries, so it's probably your best bet to go take a look at this somewhere in person before buying it as the screen is huge and building it together is quite the hassle if you're doing it for the first time. Hope that helps!
I have answered your other comment already, but just in case someone else stumbles upon this same question: Yes, Epson support told both of us that they are technically the same!
Hi! Excellent video. Do you recommend the Epson ALR screen if the window is opposite the projector screen? I ask because you mentioned that the Epson screen is more ceiling rejecting and I’m looking for the best ALR screen that rejects a bit more if you know what I mean.
If the light comes from (pretty much) the same direction as the projector, it won't help as much but it will still make a difference. Before we bought the Epson screen, we took a look at some other ALR screens in a studio and most of them felt underwhelming, with some of them having weird RGB artifacts and overall pretty mediocre rejection capabilities. I find it a little bit hard to make a recommendation here as many companies advertise their screens as ALR screens although they're technically just CLR screens. They'd need to have a completely different pattern, other than the straight lines that run across the screen horizontally and are painted dark on the top side and light on the bottom side, to make it a real ALR screen. If you can, make sure to look at some screens in person and you'll see, whether it is worth it for you. Otherwise you might be disappointed with the results, especially if the price tag is very high. I was lucky with this screen, as it is a lot cheaper here in Germany and I definitely wouldn't be paying the price they are asking for this in the US to be honest, unless you get a big discount on it! Sorry that I can't make a clear recommendation here but I don't want you to be disappointed because I just recommended a random screen to you that is advertised better than this one. Hope that still helps!

Great video! I also have a small room and not sure if 120" is too much or not. May I know what is the distance between your screen and the wall at the other side? Thanks in advance :)
It's 3.9m from the screen to the other side of the room and a couple of cm less if you sit on the couch of course. It is big, but also very immersive and not too big for the room in my opinion but of course your mileage may vary here and its best to try and get a sheet thats about that size or put some temporary markers on the wall to get an idea of the size and view from your couch!

Hello Sir, The lumens is mentioned as IDMS15.4 4000 lumens and ISO 4000 lumens for color and white brightness. But how does it differ from ANSI lumens?
ISO and ANSI are two international standards. ANSI stands for American National Standards Institute and ISO for International Organization for standardization. If the projector has a fixed brightness, 1 ANSI lumen = 0.8 ISO lumens. Hope that helps!
Nice review, but in a bright room dark scenes are worse no matter what screen or projector do you have, maybe ,just maybe fresnel screens could be better, but not to much.
OLEDs are a lot better in that regard and will produce infinitely better contrast but do still lack in some other areas where projectors excel at the moment. Especially when it comes to overall screen or projection size. This could be solved with ultra dark ALR screens and very strong output projectors in the future at which point an OLED might be less expensive at that specific screen size due to less power consumption. Either way, I personally prefer the bigger screen size at the moment and can sacrifice on some contrast for the added overall immersion of such a huge screen.
I honestly have no idea, but I was very excited to see it with such a "small" price tag in comparison. Feel sorry for everyone in the US though, as that is quite a steep price. Not sure if I would buy it for that amount to be honest.
