I was going to buy one of these cheaper led lights but they with hold to much information about what products they use. So I went with one that uses the mean well and Samsung LEDs. Id probably go with this one if they actually told me what they used, even if it was cheap crap.
I appreciate the legwork you're doing, it's VERY helpful! A little tip on measuring the temp of the shiny metal surfaces- just put a little piece of masking tape on it and point at the tape.
Don’t know about him but we have 4 p4000 in a 4x8 tent for flower and 2 in 5x5 for veg. Have 2 p2000 in 2 smaller tents and p1000 for seedlings and clone

Thank you I've been telling everyone bout the pro series. My customer service is close by in Kentucky. At 10 inches it PAR is 1025. I got the P1500 its super cool with proper air flow. Useing Sanan LEDs which are the same ae the maxisun PB1500. Driver are both made by Sosen drivers with has a 5 year warranty from the manufacturer. It runs cooler and dimmed down to 50% its still brighter them my SF1000.. The Sanan LEDs are 3500k and 6500k. With 660 deep red. I'm vegging easy a 3×3 dimmed to 60%

I been watching the Photobio developed by Sananbio optoelectronics for hydrofarm. Super nice grow light with alot of cool features and super efficient Super pricey tho too. Got a p1000 in a 2x3 for my autos,really intensive little light and took some adjusting at first with my seedlings(some stretching).so far I’ve been running it for 12 days and they are loving it
@@thomasmcdougall8059 trashed it,don’t waste your money.I ran it once more after my original post in a 4x4 next to a Mars 600 with all clones from the same plant (same genetics,pot size and nutrients ) (4 clones under each light)and it was outperformed by the Mars 600 by a longshot in yield and quality.2x3 is to big for the p1000 and wasn’t a proper test but that was the only tent I had free’d up at the time and light size usually correlates with tent sizes so I threw it in a 4x4 when I could with another light rated for a 2x2 veg canopy and rated at 100watts from the wall for a responsible conclusion
I wish I would have known that Vipaspectrum was going to LEDs because I had some of my best harvest with the Yeild lab tent and a 900W Reflector series
I bought two P1500's and a P2500. The buds under the P2500 made frostier buds than my CMH315. I would say for a 4x4 you would need two P2500's or two P2000's. My plants are responding very well to these lights. And, the dimmer knob was a selling point for me too. The one in this video is barely good enough for one small plant, less than 30 inches tall.
Love the indepth reviews pal. The P600 is 95watt and actually shows better numbers than the P1000. My question is in a 2x2x3 tent a P600 at 95watts and a VA1000 at 234watt running both at 50% for veg and crank it up to flower you should have some good results? I think it a g per watt?
I own a set of viparspectra blurple lights from 4 years ago. Seeing the quality of the old lights, it doesn't surprise me that this qb light is just as well built. Their old lights used to be the only led light company that offered ir LEDs.
The P1000 HAS been updated with IR, my owners manual is different and states this on the top page. Also the driver cord changed, it's a 3 prong that goes directly into an outlet/timer!
I just bought one of these. According to the manual the LEDs ARE Samsung, which you didn't seem to think they were. It looks like a really decent light with a nice dimmer control. Perhaps they have upgraded the LEDs used since you did this review. Will try it with some dwarf autos.
I go by what it says on the amazon listing since thats what people will buy. It has no mention of samsung anywhere. Even if they are they're not LM301b or h so it's not THAT great anyway. Samsung makes some crappy lower efficiency LEDs too. A lot of companies are just stuffing in the crappy samsungs like the 281 and then just saying "samsung diodes" and letting less informed people just think they're lm301b or as good. They literally just sent me this light a few weeks ago. It's new and what they wanted reviewed. If you want better diodes and driver get the XS series.
This is the pro series. They have off brand leds in them. The next series… “xs” series have Samsung leds and maxwell driver. The p series are green, xs are silver
20x24" closet this is perfect and it's now only 89.99 on AMz. Currently using a 70 watt HPS bulb and a couple of these - SYLVANIA CFL Spiral T2 Light Bulb, 100W Eq, 23W, 1300 Lumens, 6500K -very bright blue light. Just bright enough, But the coverage is a little uneven, this would solve that problem. I like it.
Why? Meanwell is a name.. It means nothing. Sosen drivers have a 5 year warranty from their manufacturer. Sosen have been around a long long time. I've had more meanwell from TRC fail on me then I ever have had a Sosen fail.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the waterproof coating. Most clear coats fade and yellow in time and it may change the color of the light. Also it seems like it could hold in heat and shorten the lifespan of the diodes.
I would LOVE to see you test these 1000w cheap lights out INSIDE A 2x2 tent!!!! it would be help those that do have the smaller sized tents.. but either way still helps get an idea.. thanks!!! love the vids and keep them comming please!!!

I might buy this light for my 2x2 Veg text as i have the Mars Hydro TS3000 in my flower tent at the moment. After the summer i will use my HPS Bulb in the flower text, only use the LED to keep the temp down as i am in Spain.

@@thelisteningear9589 But that doesn't use a Meanwell driver. The cheaper drivers like on this Viparspectra and Mars have had the top dimming screw for a while, but now Meanwell seems to be doing it too. How big of a flowering area are you getting with the TS1000 anyway? I hear it's a decent light.
thx for this vid. i bought the new phlizon a week a go, its beside my mars ts1000. my ts is way brighter. but it pulls 155 from the wall. i think u should pick one 1000 watt qb board and use it to compare the others too. but in 12 inches do you know the par of the mars hydro ts1000.
I would need 2 then as it's not best coverage area. but good par readings I like the dimmer I using marshydro ts600 ts1000 and a ts2000 all are good I dont really use the dimmers thow I may try them out good review
The lights that make me wonder are the ones that are called COB construction flood lights. They are usually one or more large full spectrum cob diodes. They are cheaper and powerful
those are hot af if theyre the generic china cob led diode of 50w (its the same, ive looked into it). it does put out actual 50w but also 4 inches from it is 150 celsius 300 fahrenheit so its incredibly too hot for anything useful in a tent without really good ventilation. it needs a big fan blowing directly on it or the plant boils. . 4 inches bcuz thats only how far it puts out the needed 30000 lux which is around 300 par which is the minimum needed good growth par. so in the zone where u can grow your plant boils and further it wont get needed par. so i ordered, measured and was dissapointed bcuz it sounded good at first but ended up being a waste of time and money.

Not in a million years. Mars has twice the power. 400 par at 12 inches? 150w at the wall. A lot of people knock them because they don't have the Samsung diodes but I do very well with mine.
I have the 1500 in a 2x4 tent & you're right, it doesn't put out much heat. My tent never reaches 76 degrees (w/fan & exhaust fan) and right now I'm in the flowering stage. I am seriously thinking of buying the one you have (the 1000) to put in the grow tent next to this one, and I can have flowering on one side and seedlings/ vegetative in the other side. Your thoughts?

Those PPFD numbers look way lower than what a 250w HPS would deliver - which is what they pitch it as an equivalent to - kinda disappointing Good review tho
i also love my 250 HPS, but i am excited to test out this light, the HPS will pull 290 watts from the wall this is only 100W, and the color temp is my opinion is better then the Mars hydro series.

I would always put a clip on fan pointing at my driver and board. When dealing with diodes temperature management the key to longevity.

Aren't there Meanwell drivers that have the dimming screw on the top side of the driver now? (So you don't need to take the driver off to access it)

Yes there are meanwell drivers that have the top screw dimmer. Also on the side and bottom. Depends on which model you have.

Thanks for the review. I've been looking at this hard. It doesn't have the IR leds in like the Mars hydro or spider farmer. Would you recommend this over the Mars?
Not in a million years. Mars has twice the power. 400 par at 12 inches? 150w at the wall. A lot of people knock them because they don't have the Samsung diodes but I do very well with mine.

I have the 1500 in a 2x4 tent & you're right, it doesn't put out much heat. My tent never reaches 76 degrees (w/fan & exhaust fan) and right now I'm in the flowering stage. I am seriously thinking of buying the one you have (the 1000) to put in the grow tent next to this one, and I can have flowering on one side and seedlings/ vegetative in the other side. Your thoughts?

Those PPFD numbers look way lower than what a 250w HPS would deliver - which is what they pitch it as an equivalent to - kinda disappointing

i also love my 250 HPS, but i am excited to test out this light, the HPS will pull 290 watts from the wall this is only 100W, and the color temp is my opinion is better then the Mars hydro series.
Why do they send the smallest model when they know you test in a 2x4?
