I just picked this light up on the start of my flower cycle and replaced my mars hydro tsw2000 in my 4x4 tent and there's a massive difference in my plants already
I put this in the spiter farmer 2.5x2.5 tent that comes with the sf1000 kit and it fit. Running about around 18 to 20in at 60%. Im about week 6 or 7 and 2nd week with the SF4000 and wow the buds are harder then anything I've ever had before I used to use hortilux eye 1000w hps flowering and t5 480w and clone CFL. I'm now fully led start to finish it took a moment to get the feeding just right as the plants seen to need more faster then when I had the hps. Also the best stuff I've yet to see
I got the SF1000 kit 4 months ago to tryit out I was able to get 1/2 pound off one plant. Do to space I only have room for a 2x4 tent but I didn't want to do there SF2000 because I have plans past that so I've been thinking about just getting the SF4000 and turning it down and I'm glad I went back looking at videos this sold it I did realize you did this in a 2x4 tent when I seen the the video before. Thanks for the time you put into your videos.

I’ve got mine running along with an 8” AC Infinity system, one clip-on fan up top to move everything around evenly. My ACI and Inkbird controllers are keeping the tent about 72F. That was a great video. I just bought this light and found your video very informative and reassuring. Only grown for a few seasons and still learning. Just got 2 seedling in tent 30” away at 60%. Thanks for the video.
Hello new subscriber I have 2 sf4000 in a 4x8 tent What would be your recommended hanging height and light intensity for veg and flower any help would be appreciated thanks
So I just did a bunch of testing on LEDs getting ready for a 12,000sf grow. I usually run CMH but could not ignore the progress made with LEDs. The numbers this unit puts out is truly incredible and for $600!!! Have to note, they run HOT!!! I placed a small 4" fan pointing down on the drivers and it dropped the heat considerably. This unit beat out a gavita 1700e and growers choice 720 based on my testing. Couldn't believe it
The kit I’m looking at comes with a 5x5 tent, and in the first page on the manual it says max 5x5. In your opinion will a 5x5 tent be alright for this light?, might have some serious drop off on the edges I guess?.
@@elizabethwebster3327 I’ve had mine for 2 weeks. What height and power is yours at for veg? The thing is bright and w/o a meter I went with 30” full power.
First few days it was at 20% at 4 feet because I'd read somewhere starting at 4 feet is a good start if you're nervous about upgrading and have fresh seedlings. I didnt want to bleCh my seedlings. I now have mine at 30% sitting 24" .. will probably increase the intensity as it grows then drop off once it reaches closer to harvesting when I do 12/12 intervals. My plants are about a month old now.. it's my first grow, so it's been trial and error.. but so far nothing looks concerning based on what to watch out for. Tried it on full blast for 4 hours and came back to my tent at 36c and 40% RH so it puts out ridiculous heat in a 5x5.. I wouldnt put it full unless you have a crazy good flow to disperse heat output.
@@elizabethwebster3327 This is my first grow too. It’s cool here in the PNW and I picked up my clones from the grower the last days of Sep. Looking at my records the grower cut the clones 8/25, so that makes the plants almost 2 months old. The plants went into the 5x5x8 GGT Oct 1st and were under an LEDTonic Z5 light (blue setting) for the first week until I figured out and settled on the SF4000. Originally I had the Z5 24” above the tiny plants and hung the 4000 at 5’ full power just because it’s been so cold, it was a heater for the tent. Last week I got a mini oil-filled radiator so I’m not concern with heat anymore. My temp is set to range 68-76F and it’s maintaining 72F. My AC Infinity T8 has handled keeping it at the right temp, that things a power house. They have really come to life the past 10 days with height and many new branches And leaves so I removed the Z5 and lowered the 4000 to 30” full power. I came here trying to figure out the best height and brightness which has been nerve racking. Now I’m concerned it’s either to close or too bright at 30”. I want to flood the tent with light so every branch and leaf get plenty. With heat under control it would be nice to have a chart of weeks with height and dimmer%. The manual says nothing about dimming accept as a daisy chain setup. It sucks.
I’ll have to look for my 1/8” (metal gear) hangers now, since I’m using two 1/4” (metal gear) hangers with their hanging kit, but tossed their cheap plastic gear hangers.
@@Shadowboxe here in the Pacific NorthWET the winters are somewhat cold and summers (all 6 weeks) are hot. So yes the additional heat from the drivers is appreciated this season. I may mount mine on an aluminum plate to hang on the metal wall just outside the tent for Summers.
I use the P1500 & the XS1500 by Viparspectra & my Banana Runtz & Divine Gelato x Project 4516 are loving them! My King LED is a 1200w I have covering a 4x4 area just fine, but it's a tent. In my eyes, they're worth it when they're working! But when they go out, the company is a hassle to get ahold of 😅
Just an update. The newest version of the SF2000 does indeed have the separate box with the dimmer, daisy chain, and on/off switch. Id imagine the SF1000 has this same new feature. This feature was a big factor in me choosing the SF2000 instead of any other brand
Love this light! I have 2 SF4000s for my 4x8 Gorilla grow flower tent. Running at 24inches full blast with Co2 and the ladies love it! Great affordable light
Wow dude 2 in a 4x8?!!!!! That’s awesome how are you liking it?!!! Would you change anything?! I’m still debating between 3 Mars SP 3000’s, HLG 650R or 2 SF 4000’s for my 5x5. I’d love to hear what you think!!!!!
Omgcezwho Dude the ladies love it! They’re exploding with growth. The temp is steady at 80-83 degrees with both lights on. I wouldn’t change a thing. I have three 6” clip fans, two 16” wall mount fans and the AC infinity T8 exhaust fan. It’s almost a perfect set up. I just need filters for the tent intakes to keep the air super clean. Bro the 650R is a straight monster. The PAR just blows away the SF4000 and mars hydro. Lol. However, 2 SF4000s is the same price as 1 650R. I feel like you would get better canopy coverage with 2 SF4000s and close to the same PAR as 1 650R.
Thanks for that info bro I appreciate it👊🏽 I was thinking the same thing about the SF4000 but might be a bit of an awkward fit in a 5x5 unless I put them both facing the corners rather then straight if you get me. What about 3 Mars SP3000 those spectrum look real nice and might be easier to distribute the 3.🤷🏽♂️✌🏽👊🏽
Omgcezwho No problem brother! 2 SF4000s would blow up a 5x5 for sure! You might have to turn the dimmer down to 60% 😂 The SP3000s are good lights but at $400 each that would be $1200 plus tax. Two SF4000s or one 650R will put out more PAR than three SP3000s for $100 less. They’re all great lights.
I would say 4x4 for sure 5x5 is quite a few more square feet. I think it could do it but you may have less dense nugs on the last like 6" on each side.
So do you think spider farmer lights will compete with kind? I've been using kind led since they came out but it's just getting to pricey to replace them now that their starting to break
I didn’t know the sf-4000 for $425 on Amazon was a cheap light ha. How about the $600 ks 5000 by viparspectra is that cheap too ? How expensive do these light get 2000 ha
Currently running a older sf4000 in a 5x5 only complaint is how hot it gets. You’ll definitely need some way to cool down your area my tent got up to like 86 not turned up and no ac.
86 degrees is fine with LEDs. You can run high 80s with if you have to. Check your leaf temps. The leafs should be 74-78 degrees which is ideal if your ambient temp is 86 degrees. Have you tried an exhaust fan or running your lights at night when it’s cooler?
I love these lights so far, the only problem is it does get kind of hot when your running 2 of them in a 4x8 . It has been a struggle with heat for me so far but it has been very hot here lately, it has me thinking though that I might want 2 4x4 with 1 a piece in them just to help out with the heat issue.
One guy in this thread made a good point for hot locations. Mount the drivers outside the tent with a little rewiring. The giant aluminum plate (heatsink) should handle the rest. My drivers do get hot even in my cool climate.
Just finished a grow with an SF4000 & SF2000 combo in a 4x4 - absolutely phenomenal results! I highly recommend these lights. My only issue is the heat they radiate esp during the summer months. Personally, I think that they are better suited for a grow-room set-up rather than a tent.
What height and power did you keep your light at for both veg and bloom? The manual is too vague. It says on page 4, Seedling = 24” Veg = 18”-24” Bloom = 12”-18”. Nothing about dimming. I don’t have a meter to check. My clones are about 8-10” tall and I have it at 30” full power in a 5x5x8. The thing is so bright.
@@Shadowboxe Since writing my comment I’ve done just that and the plants are thriving now. I started at 30%@30” I’m now at 50%@30” and the drooping and yellow veins that had started showing is all gone. Leaves are pointing up and dark forest green again. I’ll probably raise another 10% this weekend.
We all know that spider farmer is a really good light but I'd like to see Amazons Bestva 2000-watt Elite Series PAR reading ,They used to call it Samsung Series until myself and a few other people got in there ass about not having any Samsung LEDs.
MixJoy gl 2000, meanwell driver, same samsung led's, $140. on Amazon. Two of them are the same as this light for just over half the price. And with the quantum boards separate you can arrange them spaced farther apart to get a better light spread. I have to keep them at about 60% to keep the (flower) par between 600-1000.
And if you read the reviews someone said they got 2 and neither of them were the wattage they said and both were different wattage even. A lot of companies also sell fake diodes. I only trust companies I know. Also the new sf4000 has the diodes spaced differently to improve spread. You also don’t own a par meter if you’re that cheap so your fake ppfd rating is useless as well. Mix joy also uses ELG drivers not XLG drivers. Not all meanwell are made the same. They cut corners. That’s why their power is less too. Xlg are always at max power no matter the voltage where elg can be variable depending on exact voltage. If you want to save some money go ahead but it’s not the same thing.

and the issue with growth to fast i got that too and it made me go crazy trying to figure out what was making my stems go purple lol. could of used this video 5 weeks ago lol
I feel ya i just also think tht close to actual plants will burn them unless your turning the dimmer way down which then its not very effective for growth

A 5x5 is almost double the lighting requirements of a 4x4. You would need to look at their new SE-7000 review I did.

If you have height problems
Hello new subscriber I have 2 sf4000 in a 4x8 tent What would be your recommended hanging height and light intensity for veg and flower any help would be appreciated thanks
How high above the par meter was the light? I don’t recall you mentioning the distance. Thanks
I always do 16" to start.
Couldn't believe it
how do you connect all of them tho?
@@mukando11 daisy chain into a control module. I think you can control up to 100 lights at once now.
The kit I’m looking at comes with a 5x5 tent, and in the first page on the manual it says max 5x5. In your opinion will a 5x5 tent be alright for this light?, might have some serious drop off on the edges I guess?.
Spider Farmer states that it covers 6x6 veg and 5x5 flower. I have a 5x5 tent tent and just received mine yesterday. So far so good.
It sucks.
What is the PPFD?
JUSTIN IS THE #1 GROW LIGHT REVIEW MASTER #FACTS 😎🙌💯💙
So 2 of these would work great in a 4x8 tent?
They say it veg's 6x6 an flowers a 5x5 so i would say yes

Bro this video was super helpful!! Much obliged
the hanging kit is fine but you do want to get the hangers it makes it raise higher if needed
I’ll have to look for my 1/8” (metal gear) hangers now, since I’m using two 1/4” (metal gear) hangers with their hanging kit, but tossed their cheap plastic gear hangers.
Hey Justin what was the juice at 80% you didn't say
I take the drivers off the board and suspend them and that drops the temp big time.
From what I gather that aluminum board is supposed to be a giant heatsink, correct?
@@Mr_PNW Correct.
It's optional. You may want to leave them on In winter grows.
Mount them on the outside of the tent?
I use the P1500 & the XS1500 by Viparspectra & my Banana Runtz & Divine Gelato x Project 4516 are loving them! My King LED is a 1200w I have covering a 4x4 area just fine, but it's a tent. In my eyes, they're worth it when they're working! But when they go out, the company is a hassle to get ahold of 😅
I know the center on the 1500's is probably only about 950w, & the 1200w King probs peaks at 850w center, but they've been killing it for me
Just an update. The newest version of the SF2000 does indeed have the separate box with the dimmer, daisy chain, and on/off switch. Id imagine the SF1000 has this same new feature. This feature was a big factor in me choosing the SF2000 instead of any other brand
The dimmer also has its own on/off switch on the back of the box which they recommend turning off when not dimming.
Photontek needs to send you that X600 :)
I’m going to add some aftermarket heat sinks with thermal tape myself to help with the cooling
Hey, Justin or anyone, I'm running an ac unit in my tent. my question is how close can the spider farmer 4000 be before worrying about heat stress.
Probably around 4" but youll see light stress first.
What’s the tool name that he is putting under the light ?
Par meter
You might have to turn the dimmer down to 60% 😂
The SP3000s are good lights but at $400 each that would be $1200 plus tax. Two SF4000s or one 650R will put out more PAR than three SP3000s for $100 less.
They’re all great lights.
Nice
Hello, would this light be good for 5x5 as the manufacture suggest
abe zeke The SF4000 can veg a 5x5 and flower a 4x4
I would say 4x4 for sure 5x5 is quite a few more square feet. I think it could do it but you may have less dense nugs on the last like 6" on each side.
Quick question, with 2 SF 4000 growing area 8 x 8x 8, how many plants can I grow? Thank you
@@MrDmadness my grow speces 7x7sf . How may plants can I grow ?
2 of these lights will effectively cover a 4x8. Possibly get away with a 5x10 but kinda pushing it for flower. 8x8 would technically need 4
So do you think spider farmer lights will compete with kind? I've been using kind led since they came out but it's just getting to pricey to replace them now that their starting to break
Yes kind is old technology and has always been over hyped imo.
Kind is 🗑. Only flat earthers use kind leds😭😭

I love this light so far lol I just got mine and huge difference from blurple garbage!
What do you do with the lights you’ve already tested ? Want to sell one ?
Currently running a older sf4000 in a 5x5 only complaint is how hot it gets. You’ll definitely need some way to cool down your area my tent got up to like 86 not turned up and no ac.
86 degrees is fine with LEDs. You can run high 80s with if you have to. Check your leaf temps. The leafs should be 74-78 degrees which is ideal if your ambient temp is 86 degrees. Have you tried an exhaust fan or running your lights at night when it’s cooler?
Sounds like you need more ventilation or a cooler room outside the tent. It's wattage, wattage equals heat.
i got the model that you cant dim, does that mean i cant use to veg?
Your too stupid to grow weed.
@@perryhart3172 you're

I love these lights so far, the only problem is it does get kind of hot when your running 2 of them in a 4x8 . @@saka3364 That is exactly why I won't use them.
One guy in this thread made a good point for hot locations. Mount the drivers outside the tent with a little rewiring. The giant aluminum plate (heatsink) should handle the rest. My drivers do get hot even in my cool climate.
@@Mr_PNW that is a good idea.
Remove to Drivers from the boarders and put them outside the tent. You just need to splice wires and extend, very simple.
@@Tabooza After this grow and before next summer I just might do that. For once I’m glad for the cool weather here in the PNW.
@@Mr_PNW That's a bit li saying what ear should you use to drive up that hill. you modify and adjust until you find the sweet spot.

Time to review the spider farmer sf7000
Done 👍🏼
We all know that spider farmer is a really good light but I'd like to see Amazons Bestva 2000-watt Elite Series PAR reading ,They used to call it Samsung Series until myself and a few other people got in there ass about not having any Samsung LEDs.
Sounds like you're not fond of it, why are you even interested in seeing PAR values?
@@smokeyBJJ So he can get in their ass on those too.
Thank you soo much for your code i was just about to be broke for buying the SF-4000 but now i saved $40. You've gained a sub keep it up dude

Dont u think ur also seeing such a high par level with how close the light is too?
I'm measuring it where I feel it's most efficient overall. When you raise it up you lose a lot in the middle and gain little to nothing on the sides.
I feel ya i just also think tht close to actual plants will burn them unless your turning the dimmer way down which then its not very effective for growth
