Great timing!! I just ordered an Atgames Pinball machine and I was planning on using my pc for the other tables like Pinball FX3, Visual and Future pinball. I didn't know I needed a VIBS to have both screens functioning. I just placed an order for this board as well. Thanks!

If you take two sheets of regular white printer paper from your printer , cut them obviously in half and take them to the back of the legends pinball marquee , it will cut down the glare on your playfield by easily 75%. And your marquee will still light up and look bright , it just dithers the led lights enough to take away the really bad reflections on the game field. It’s a quick and easy fix .

You are talking to a guy who is used to having up to 1000 leds lighting up around my playfield screen. That marquee's reflection is pretty minimal in comparison :)

Great tips section, not just for VIBS, but windows and VPIN in general. Not many YT videos touch on the potential issues of using the VIBS. Educational and thorough as always! 👍

You can disable windows monitor detection so it doesn't keep messing up your monitor setup. You can regedit the Transient Mulitmon Manager (TMM) so that is doesn't auto detect. Follow the below steps and check if you can disable Automatic Monitor Detection.
    1) Press the Windows + R button to get the Command prompt.
    2) Type regedit then press Enter
    3) Navigate to the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM
    4) Look for the value "UseIViewHelper" and change it to 0 or if you don't have that key then simply right click in the TMM sub key and create a new DWORD giving it the name UseIViewHelper then set its value to 0
Note: To re-enable Automatic Monitor Detection, simply go back to the same reg key and change the value of "UseIViewHelper" to 1

The Windows screen gathering issue around 37:00 is a real problem for me with security camera systems where I have remote displays that are fed from one server or workstation. I use a commercial product called AnyDesk to manage what's displayed on what screen if I have to move them back. I don't know if it makes sense for this use case since you can just go to another game, but it really helps for public facing screens literally on the other side of a building. You can swap monitors through an interface and set up each based on the resolution.

I’m getting severe flickering when I switch to my PC feed. The cables are firmly seated. I’ve swapped out the cables and removed adapters and still flickering. Do I have a faulty VIBS board or is there something else I should check? The internal feed is perfect with no flickering.

Just a heads up for this 'must have ' - AT Games is allegedly denying warranty claims if you have the vibs board installed.
That's right - they are denying warranty claims if you install a piece of hardware they make and sell on the machine they make and sell. So install at your own risk and, at the least, don't mention that you've installed it if you submit a warranty claim.

Nice video ! I’ll be getting the table soon and wonder what you think of the large backglass from buystuff or if you have seen it. It has 24” and 15.6” screens . Very nice but maybe too large fur the table ? Or maybe just add an 8” screen for the 3rd screen ? Or heave it with 2 screens ?

Question, for the HDMI cable coming out the back from the VIBS board, did you drill a hole for that cable to come out or did you leave the panel off?

Thank you for the video...well done. For HDMI export from PC or laptop, at 8:30 on your video, you show a diagram that states..."Connect HDMI to VIBS board" and "Connect HDMI to Main ALP display". Does this mean you need two HDMI ports on your PC or laptop? I am wanting to use my laptop and it only has one HDMI port on it. How can I accomplish this with only one HDMI port? Thanks

    • @Roadsurfer2k11
      @Roadsurfer2k11 3 роки тому

You need 2 out (one to playfield on front, and one going to vibs). If you have a dmd monitor, then you'll need 3 out. Check to see if you have other video outputs. Like on my laptop I have a mini hdmi, so I just need to get a mini hdmi to hdmi adapter plus hdmi cord

A great easy to follow tut about VIBS and benefits of having it. Love to see you took your time to explain it thoroughly. At games has caught my interest and IM researching it before i jump in to make sure its what I want to invest in. I think its best bang for buck for a simple hobbyist.
I posted on one of your other vids I have a Weekly live show and would love to have you join the show to share what Visual pinball is and answer questions of viewers. Hit me up on my channel or join my TG channel to sort out a time if you are interested.
