Epic Quest is my favourite table. Just a correction, Multiball is not activated by the smash target. Every time you win a combat you can lock a ball on the princess ramp. And with proper timing you can trigger multiball right away, or activate extra multiball features like extra ball shots, and super jackpots.
I have to say your descriptions and table ratings are very accurate and match up with how I feel about many of these tables. I dont usually leave comments on videos but you did a great job on this and you are fu@#!#& hilarious the comments on v12 got me to watch the whole video right to the end I actually laughed to myself in my house alone which always makes me feel strange for some reason lol Anyways keep up the good work I'm going to watch some more of your video.eos after I try a few of the tables I've missed previously
Thanks. Nice to hear what others think of these tables and to share in the frustrations of some of these tables. Like how all the views seem too close or too far away.
Great review👍, I just made a virtual pinball machine from Legends ultimate arcade with pixelcade as DMD. that video will post soon, you should make a virtual pinball too. I really hope more Williams and Bally pinballs would show up.
I’m a pinball fan only now getting this game (loved Williams classics on 360, Wii, Vita). I’ll keep your list handy. Medieval Madness is my favorite table ever, so I’ll check out Excalibur.
Very good quick review, thank you. I also like pinball games so much. I see you changed williams table camera and put LCD on the left corner side, can you recommend that also am I do that or I keep the default williams camera? Thank you for the video.
Nice breakdown of these tables! Many of them I haven't played since the FX2 days on Xbox 360. I recently got an Xbox One so now I'm getting into FX3 and love it. I wonder if Paranormal still has uncapped Jackpot build-up that lead to trillion plus scores? I was one of the first that beat Ultimo and it was tough as nails so well done for getting it on your first try! I wonder if they did make it easier? Mars was also really tough for me, especially getting past the pyramid multi-ball mission. I love the FX3 version of White Water and recently managed to get Vacation Jackpot after many tries with Classic Arcade physics. It was an awesome challenge. Similarly, I managed to get to Super Payday on Road Show in Classic Arcade but messed it badly. I'm busy working on Hurricane to put up a decent score and then I'll give Road Show a go again. I love the new Volume 4 flipper physics so will only give the Volume 1 - 3 tables a go again once the flippers physics are implemented (which Zen is apparently working on). I have many favourites, but will mention Pasha and Fantastic Four as two that you don't seem to have yet.
There are subtle differences with scoring and gameplay in FX3 tables-- Epic Quest's skillshots were the first thing I noticed. I only tried a handful of tables from previous Zen games but never fully committed because it was way too easy to keep the ball up. There's something bumpier and faster about FX3 where even though I can have long games like in Mars and Paranormal, they feel more exciting. I'll keep a look out for that jackpot buildup next time I have a go. I saw a thread in the steam forum outlining some tables improvements but I can't find it anymore. Thanks for your feedback!
Thanks for putting this together. Sorry I'm late, seeing this. I do wish they had a way to brighten up the DMDs, though. I'm legally blind, and have a tough, if not impossible time seeing them, even on a 46" screen. LOL ;)
I'm a bit new to pinball, playing vr and running across zacarria is actually what got me into it. Before too long I got bit with the bug and bought the platinum pack, but got loured into fx3 and pinball arcade due to the flashy complex newer looking tables. After realizing pinball arcade is missing like over half its table lineup, I didnt even bother buying the rest. It just doesnt sit right spending like 40-50 dollars on a game knowing I'll never be able to play half of the tables everyone else can. If I really want to experience it later I'll likely just get the game with ALL tables through other means. Which is a shame, as I've got no problem throwing my money at pinball game devs, probably spent 200 bucks already between all of zaccaria and like 60 fx3 tables. So instead I've been dumping my credit card into fx3. Gotta say I'm loving it, but can not for the life of me understand how there are guys like you out there that can do 90+ minute games. Every few minutes or so I feel like the ball goes straight for one of the side gutters and theres really nothing I could do to avoid it. Some tables just feel so freaking cheap to me (I'm glad to hear v12 is infamous, as I hated playing that one lol). Any advice (besides "use nudge") for a beginner on how to avoid those cheap ball losses on the sides would be appreciated.
Personally, I usually just play the 3-minute and 5-minute modes. I think you alluded to them on the Wolverine tables, but it would be neat to see some strategy videos.
I dont know why I didnt think of this until now, but hearing "balls on the table" felt simultaneously surprisingly dirty and surprisingly innocent at the same time.
Omfg, EXACTLY my thoughts on American Dad! I get Vietnam flashbacks just hearing you speak about Wheels & Legman X.@ Also Family Guy, yea. Hurricane...*shudders*. It never really sat right with me, for some reason most clown, carnival or merry-go-round themed tables just end up feeling incredibly bland to me for some reason. (Also, even though it is not actually in FX3, I gotta mention Frankenstein. It is one of the few tables Ive played in real life when over the age of 15, and the sound effects gives me shivers! Any game that has that table is a win for me >_
Cheers for giving Excalibur the love it deserves. I remember the reviews and overall opinion for that table were poor as hell when it came out which annoyed me because I played the crap out of it and thought of it as one of the best tables for FX. Think I might redownload FX tonight and get back into It.
Second comment, because this app doesn't let me edit. There's some themes I'd love to see Zen try out on their originals. I would love to see Zombies, a new Car table(to replace v12), Pirates, Ninjas, a more general and vague Space table where you visit planets and stuff, maybe a table about a bar where you have to make drinks or something, an ice-cream shop table. I dunno, there's a lot of cool themes. I'd like to see them take a break from the Williams table to throw together a pack or two of originals.
What about surfer, scout, and possibly summer camp themed tables? I know I have come up with a few ideas surrounding the mechanics of what could be possible for those themes...
the physics are better on pinball fx tho, but pinball arcade did somethings better u had acess to the menus u could do some things like continue a game on the same "simulated session" and that matters a bit as some games keep the balls locked like circus voltaire.
Didn't like what Pinball Arcade did at all with their tables. The ball always felt floaty to me with no weight to it (of all the years I've played, that ball never felt right), cradling the ball was ALWAYS a test in patience on any table (simple as hell in real life) and their mechanical sounds were way off. I tried bringing this up to them and all they could respond with is "we respectfully disagree". But that never stopped them from trying to charge me $10 bucks a table for their Stern offerings - however, I digress. I've played countless real machines before and Pinball Arcade simply wasn't realistic enough for me to give it adequate praise in that area. Pinball Arcade simply wasn't it. Don't get me wrong, I loved playing Pinball Arcade and their product was good enough for me to buy literally every single table they released (still own all Williams tables before they lost the rights), but I like what Zen Studios is doing in regards to the direction of digital pinball, and to me the physics, sounds and overall control are superior.
