    It's adorable! I love some of the changes that they made, like a larger internal storage and ports in the back. If I didn't already have a decked out ALP, I would definitely be interested. Great for someone just dipping their toes into vPin or someone with very limited space. As per usual, great video Jon.

    Thanks for sharing. I use Pinball Arcade now to play on my computer and this looks like it would be so much better and realistic. I used to play pinball all the time back in the 50's and 60's growing up as a kid. I spent a lot of time in bowling alleys and poolhalls playing these cool machines. Thanks so much for sharing this video my friend.

      Very welcome Ken, thank you for watching! I wound up buying one for my Mom for Christmas last year (she loved mine). She's not able to get around well, but she can sit and play pinball all she wants now. You can also connect a PC/Steam Deck up to it if you want to play from there. I've not personally tried Pinball Arcade but have tried FX3, Visual Pinball X and Future Pinball on both the Steam Deck and PC playing through on the micro (and larger Legends Pinball). If you want/need more info., I've got a lot of info on my website (each with videos): wagnerstechtalk.com/guides/#AtGames

    So pleased we are now getting most of our Atgames "first looks" from you Jon!
    I have pretty much everything Atgames ever made (sometimes 2 of each!), but this is the first new item that I decided to PASS on... the main reason being that the initial chatter was that it was the same pcb still outputting EDP video for the backglass. However, it now appears that it may be different?.. That looks like an LVDS pin connector in your video?.
    I am really looking forward to more videos from you on this. Do you have the "new" VIBS yet?
    I would luv it if you could do a partial teardown in your followups to show the PCB to confirm whether or not it is modified. I honestly feel that if Atgames can get away from that EDP scenario for the backglass connection, it will be a game changer for modders and DIY enthusiasts.

      Thank you so much Phil, I always appreciate your feedback and you ask such great questions! I've not currently done a tear-down, but when the VIBS board comes in we might just have to do it in that follow-up video ;) It may be a month before I actually get ahold of that board, no exact timeframe has been provided. I actually placed a pre-order for this machine, wasn't sure if one would be shipped or not. I plan to complete the order as a gift for my nephew for Christmas. I sure hope he doesn't read this comment or I just spoiled it lol

    Awesome review and I am really looking forward to getting mine. I preoreded the Taito skinned one with the deal that included VIBS, board, Gottlieb tables, and discount. I would love a full sized table but live in a 900 sq ft townhouse. I also have a fish tank addiction and a few arcade 1ups. This is perfect for those of us that dwell in hobbit houses. There just isnt space for the full sized. I wish it had a real plunger but, hey. This still beats the pants off of the Arcade 1up pinball machines with more tables, 1080p @ 60 fps, expandability, features, etc. It just doesn't look as pretty.

    It came out much better than I expected! Literally just a micro version of the great ALP. The display of the playfield looks very nice in this size, and the overall package trumps similar micro tables like the Sharpin Mini. • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk Рік тому +1

      As long as you keep getting high scores on the table(s), you'll be prompted to enter your initials. Of course, most tables (except for Gottlieb) will remember the last initials entered so it's just 3 quick presses on the play button. There isn't an option to disable it, but you'll have to do it much less as you keep playing.

    What's the image quality like? For instance, if I'm playing Zaccaria Pinball via Steam on my PC then the game has a graphics settings menu so does this have that too? It appears not from your video.
    I'm asking because 1080p looks acceptable only when I apply a high level of anti-aliasing in the graphics settings so to smooth out any 'jaggies'. If, for example, there is noticeable stair-stepping aka jaggies on the flippers due to low quality or non-existent anti-aliasing then that'll be a deal-breaker for me.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk Рік тому +1

    AtGames keeps building these products with incomprehensible component sizes. WHY is the backglass monitor so INSANELY small? Not just a little bit too small.. INSANELY too small. Why not add proper buttons near the lockbar because you KNOW people will be installing MAME? WHY have that tacky top marquee on the top that says "Legends Pinball Micro". All logical aesthetics are tossed out the window for what I assume is very sad cost saving measures.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk Рік тому

      There aren't many (if any) companies that make fully digital LCD backboxes in this form-factor on a virtual pin that allows PC/OTG connectivity. This is a smaller machine, if you want a larger machine then the Legends Pinball may be a better choicde. The reason for the size of the display on this machine is it has to have room to mount the speakers. They "might" have been able to go up an inch on the size of the backbox display, but that's about it. In terms of having a joystick and buttons on the apron for arcade gaming, I'm totally with you on that one. I'm spoiled with the full-size ALP and the ACP and having that option on the micro makes sense. However, every component they add has a cost which has to be passed on to the consumer. If adding those features adds another $200 to the price, then they made the right decisions (IMO). No-one would buy a mini pinball for $7-800 when the full-size ALP can be purchased around that price range. All-in-all, It's an impressive machine and I did wind up buying one as a Christmas gift since this video also.
