You really need to check out the version on the 1994 Pulse concert so you can see David playing the pedal steel guitar live. That's how he hits such high notes with the pedal steel.
I have to totally agree with that I think you would be amazed at the pulse concert version of this and I would love to see you do it it is an amazing performance live@@RussianReactionReviews
Watching David Gilmour play that steel guitar in the Pulse video concert....PINK Floyd's music has many genre hard rock themes...Seen as progressive rock....
There is a Catholic church 2 blocks from my house. It has an actual bell tower and the bells chime every hour, on the hour. There is a certain comfort in hearing them everyday.
Such a powerful song, and, your word is a good one, conceptual--the music, lyrics, and visuals create wide concepts that don't have to be only one narrow thing. The weird thing is that by using these very concrete images with very straightforward, but intricate, music they actually create more space for the imagination.
Hello there first of all I love your video reactions...keep up the good work..my favorite song from Pink Floyd is " Brain Damage" and also "Time"....thanks
You asked about what this kind of rock is called. I don't know if someone already answered this question. But this is my personal favorite kind of rock: Progressive Rock. There are some really good bands out but Pink Floyd still is outstanding. I really love their music.
@@RussianReactionReviews There are some other really good bands serving this genre. For example get into Alan Parsons Project (live Alan Parsons Symphonic Project) e.g. La Sagrada Familia. I'm quite sure you'll like it. Alan Parsons helped to create PF's Album "Dark side of the moon" with the special effects. He's also a unbelievable good musician. Enjoy it! I love Alan Parson's Album "Tales of Mysterey and Imagination" about stories from Edgar Alan Poe very much. Just try it out!
This song is about David looking back at his life and remembering, every line of the song is important as are the images that go along with it, if you know their history then you can read it like a book, it's obvious if you know, unfortunately it's too long and complicated to get into here. Just enjoy the journey.
The bells you here in this song is the ringing of the devision bells ! Let it play and take it in !!! It is Classic Progressive Rock IF you let it play out ! lol
Listen to Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon from start to finish with headphones. It will change you. Music will never be the same for you. Enjoy the journey!😊
...it's a song about growing up, the high hopes we have as children and that over time are confronted with adult issues that always seem too big.. to which we then get used to inserting a nostalgic memory of how only high hopes were pure and at least in part, lost forever ... the child who frees himself from the big teddy bear, I think is the most eloquent symbolic gesture.... the tall men with the briefcase, symbol of work and responsibility.. Pink floyd members, grew up in Cambridge (maybe they started there?) and it's the one that watches the man standing from a distance... The division bell is the bell of the British parliament... it rings when you have to stop discussing deciding and voting... this is also an aspect that has a lot to do with becoming adults.. the moment of deciding... big heavy bells on the shoulders of men.. to a certain extent perhaps it also concerns the decision to put an end to the good itself...
They're not there for answering but for questioning. You'll have to find answers for yourself as anybody else (had to do before). Not their job, yours. ;) What's (by the way) something about them i love the most! Regards. 👍
Is it rock? Yes, but it's been sub-classified many ways; art rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, classic rock. Pink Floyd stands out from the pack because they can play most any musical genre and they do it with genius and artistic brilliance. Enjoyed your reaction!
You should watch The Wall movie based on their album The Wall, it brings the real album to life. I saw them live in 1994, it was all perfect, the best concert I've ever seen. You should also check out The Great Big Gig in the sky featuring Rachel Fury, Durga McBroom and Margret Taylor, that's the best version, it will send chills up your spine.
The giant face is Roger Keith ' SYD ' Barrett , a founding member of the band who left after the first album due his deterioration of his mental health due to the over use of LSD and an underlying mental illness, simply put he lost his mind.
that seems like the seminal moment for the group as they wrote about him in every album thereafter.. and hell..30+ years later he shows up as a statue in one of the final music videos
This just popped up in my feed again, it was only a couple of weeks ago that I realised that the 2 jesters at the start are taken from the back projection film for Shine on as well, there may be more.
