Physics tells us that in theory, its only possible to travel to the future, but this song takes me 40 years back, when the grass was greener, the taste sweeter. I love this band.
The Division Bell is rung in locations around the House of Commons to let MPs know a vote is about to be taken in the house. I have always understood it in this song as a metaphor for the points of our lives where decisions and choices are made which determine our future lives.
The concert opener is Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Definitely should watch. Other songs to listen to Coming Back to Life, Time, Money, Run Like He'll, anything from the concert is pretty great!
A great closure to their careers - the final track on their final full studio album. It chronicles their beginnings, struggles, rise to fame /fortune, and ultimately the realization that the end was near. It was also a last homage to long gone founding member Syd Barret (the album "Wish You Were Here" was entirely about their feelings of loss with Syd gone) - there are numerous images depicting Syd throughout - most notably the giant bas-relief being carried at 3:23 of the official video (the one showing on the round screen during the song) ua-cam.com/video/7jMlFXouPk8/v-deo.html This concert was actually their tour to promote "The Division Bell" album , but since their release the following year of these video recordings, it has been known by the name of that collection - "P.U.L.S.E". As an added FYI, the bell isn't a church bell - a 'division' bell is rung in many Commonwealth countries to signal the beginning and/or end to a parliamentary proceeding. Apropos to the beginning and end of their journey to the top of the musical world. Thanks for the heartfelt reaction....there's soooo much more to come, and I'll be watching.
When you get to the song The Great Gig in the Sky, it is all vocals that some say is supposed to relate in raw emotion the transition into leaving life, the stages of dying, anger, fear, resistance and finally acceptance, and some say it isn't, have a listen, take what you get from it, and enjoy the journey !! God Bless.
Glad to hear that you enjoy Pink Floyd, just wanted to let you know, that the best way to listen to their music, is with headphones or ear buds, getting the True stereo effect is awesome to say the least, and if you ever have a chance to listen to one of their albums or CD's, they are all meant to be listened to nonstop from start to finish, I've been listening to Pink Floyd's music as it was released to the world, been in that rabbit hole for over fifty years, and not looking to leave anytime soon either, You have entered this rabbit hole now too, Please continue the journey, I'm sure that you will be most greatful that you did, Enjoy and God Bless
Best band ever, hands down.I say this because I have listened to them 50yrs I’ve listened to this song for 30 from the time it come out.Just doesn’t get old!
That's Pink Floyd for you !! You have entered the rabbit hole, enjoy seeing how far it goes, it's a journey that you will be most greatful for taking, but please wear headphones or ear buds when listening to all of their music, God Bless 🙂
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps, running before etc. That was The Soft Machine. If you’re checking things out anyway… And Nick Mason did that A Saucerful of Secrets tour, playing many of the Floyd’s old songs. Worth a listen, too. Omg, Pulse was from ‘94… thirty years ago. And they were being nostalgic. I’m ooooold!
@@looneygardener We were mostly belting out the tunes. We were on Magic Mushrooms so the experience was so much more amplified and I loved every minute of it one of the best shows I've seen ❤️
@@RockinMamaT I saw a great tribute band last year with my son and grandkids. I went nuts. 0 shame in front of the teenagers. Brit Floyd is the closest I'll get. First babe at 19, so youth got a bit kiboshed.
thank you for your video, I love it! listen to “the great gig in the sky” you’ve never listened to that in your entire life! 100% guaranteed. Pulse concert 1994 of course. I like your channel please continue.
You asked for suggestions well try these two “Time” and “Great gig in the sky” both from the pulse concert …under ideal circumstances they should be experienced in that order and at one sitting. It’ll make sense when you do.
I was at one of these shows, and the mad thing was that the sound system was in quadrophonic, so you had sound effects coming at you from all directions
Pink Floyd invented quadrophic sound back in the 60s, il was originally a joystick on Richard Wright s keyboard so that he could direct the sound to anywhere in the audience, apparently the original was stolen and they had to build a second from scratch, they also invented the light show as well by the way, making sure that they you the full package at a show.
Two other versions worth a listen: From "Live at Pompeii 2016". David adds a much longer acoustic guitar solo to the end of the song. ua-cam.com/video/xPkTq-_C-3c/v-deo.html From "Live at Robert Wyatt's Meltdown". David replaces the electric bass guitar with a stand up bass and adds a cello to compliment his guitar. ua-cam.com/video/lgE-FNhHy54/v-deo.html
The symphonic metal band Nightwish made a tribute to Pink Floyd, playing that song and including their own flavor. It's a great video. (Nightwish / High Hopes)
Happy 4th dude......when you guys decided you didn't love us brits anymore. Boo Hoo. Please please please react to "The great gig in the sky" from the pulse concert,
As you were watching this video and commenting on the Bell and the gong I was thinking he has no idea what's coming when David starts playing that steel guitar and although you are a rap fan and you started doing these reactions strictly for your UA-cam video channel there is a word of warning if you continue to listen to this style of music from the 70s you may find yourself becoming a completely different person with a new taste for nostalgic music you are barely scratching the surface of an amazing era in music history that many would have never discovered if not for these reaction videos becoming popular
If you think Pulse is taking you down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, you are in for a surprise. Try Animals (Dogs, Pigs, Sheep). Or Welcome to the machine, Have a Cigar. Echoes. Hey you. Young Lust, One of my turns, Nobody Home, Obscured by Clouds, Cymbaline, Green is the colour, Seamus, Dogs of war. Or, if you really feel adventurous: Astronomy Dominee, Set the controls for the heart of the sun, A Saucerful of Secrets, Heart Mother, Several species of small furry animals gathering together in a cave and grooving with a Pict. Not now John. Two suns in the sunset. Take your filthy hands off my desert. Southampton Dock. MOTHER!!! (live 1980). You've just scratched the surface 😂
For me this is one of the most beautiful Pink Floyd songs and David’s guitar is absolutely amazing . Great reaction. Subbed for more Pink Floyd!

I love this band.
The ladies added that perfect small reflection. It's in the details with Pink Floyd, and it always has been that for me. I'm a fan for 52 years now.❤
That lap steel in David's hands is so freaking good! Chills!

I was looking forward to your reaction of High Hopes. It’s one of my favorites to sit back and smoke to. ✌🏻💕

Agree all great songs. Saw them back in the 70s awesome concert

The middle section with the build up, is amazing, I saw them during this tour in Chicago, such a great show
Pink Floyd has great meaning and context behind their songs, like you said they are very deep, knowing that stuff makes them so much more enjoyable.

prob the best concert on video out there..
I was at one of these shows, and the mad thing was that the sound system was in quadrophonic, so you had sound effects coming at you from all directions
Yes, I saw them too.
The sound was going through your whole body and soul. And the light show did the rest.
It was magic.
