Something I've noticed in paintings of twisters is that people aren't using green in the sky. As a long time tornado spotter in Tornado Alley I can tell you that the sky turns green when there's that much moisture in the air. It's an eerie, muted color and make the sky look really frightening.

This is a honest approach to painting for me. Some times I spend a few weeks on a painting, there is one I've been working on all year. But they would make extra long episodes so I haven't filmed them lol

I admire the fact that you are willing to paint on camera from a concept you have for the painting. It is as you say, an honest approach to your art that speaks well of you as an artist. I know that I would not be confident enough in my painting to do what you do. I know about the paintings in progress. I have one I've been fiddling around with for a year myself.
Cheers Jason, keep up the great work, I learn a lot from you.

Love this series. We lived 21 years in SE Texas and have seen many twisters and their destruction but they are awesome to see in person, just for their shear power. I remember how the sky would turn green just before it hit. Giving a very eery feeling.

This is a brilliant painting. I have been trying this for so long, but got my perspective completely wrong and painted more green fields that sky, so tweeking it slightly. Thank you for the lesson. I am not great at sky and building layering effect. Tried using Acrylic but may try in oil.

You are a brave man. I would have paniced several times. Really nice. I am going to try it with watercolors, my mind knows how, it is the brush that I have trouble with. Great job! Marylyn

Jason you continue to amaze with your art. I did find that you were uncharacteristically tentative in your execution of the particular piece. Don't get me wrong, I like the painting, it just didn't seem to flow as well as most of your work. Thanks for the opportunity to see you at work once again!

Enjoyed the painting. It is one that I will attempt to do. Hopefully, I will be able to achieve similar results. Enjoy all your videos, you are extremely talented. I have to say that I agree with the comments made by hukiworld, I much prefer watching videos at normal speed. Speed painting (fast paced) simply loses something in the translation.

I live in what they call tornado alley in the USA. I've seen many, unfortunately. This was quite good. The only thing I have noticed is that when there is a twister, the sky is almost always a sickly yellow to yellow-greenish color. Not very pretty to paint.

Icy WinterWind I had the same feeling. I am going to do this painting then glaze it over in that weird yellow greenish haze. It gives the sick feeling one gets when those funnel clouds do their thing.
