- Hi everyone, thanks for watching this video on how to paint clouds! In this step by step tutorial, I’ll teach you 3 easy steps for building up realistic looking clouds. You’ll need the following:
Colours:
White- I used titanium
Blue - I used phthalo blue
Black- I used mars black
Light Blue Violet - optional

I just tried this and my hubby said it looked like intestines. Lol I gotta try again.
I’ve learned, the first steps to painting clouds, (or anything for that matter), is getting over the fear of painting them!
You have to LOVE how to learn how to paint them!
“Hate” is a very strong emotion which can prevent you from ever being successful at painting!
If you “hate” painting them, this means you probably hate “practicing” how to paint them too, which is the ONLY way to get better!
I know, because I was YOU several years ago!
Just keep watching videos, & learning different techniques, until you find what works best for you, then Practice, Practice, Practice!

Lovely looking clouds and thanks for the tutorial. I am starting my journey in acrylic painting and loved that you have so many great tutorials. I was an oil painter for many years but had to give it up because of becoming very allergic to the products I was using. But, I miss painting so much, and am going to give acrylics a good try!!! The one thing (and I certainly don't mean this in an insulting way at all...I know you are a fantastic painter) however; I personally liked the clouds better before you took the liner brush and did the curly cues or half cues!!! Just my own opinion, and I may be the only one on earth that feels that way~~! LOL!!! but, besides that, loved this demo and have saved it for future reference for sure and now I am off to watch other videos of yours as I really think you are great!!!

Why do my bank of clouds look like a huge solid iceberg? No matter how I try I just cant replicate your way of painting even the simplest of clouds. Mind you I've only been painting for two weeks. Oh well thanks for your video.😁🖼👍

years ago, my wife had the idea to paint clouds on the ceiling in the bath, and after much thought, I realized the limits to my skill and really started noticing clouds...shading, shape, edges, colors....brightness too....yea, I am no Leonardo or Michelangelo !
