@Mark Thompson ...a self absorbed know it all hell bent on correcting others in “you’re” perfect little world you live in. Find a life outside of correcting others on trivial things. It exposes how lonely and sad you are!

(It is a compliment) The art form you practice is not painting. You do something that uses oil painting just as a tool. Your Art work offers the experience some of us get from watching or listening to your videos. That is something entirely unique and makes you a great performing artist. Your work is not the painting you did it is the collective experience of watching you and listening to you while you paint.. what ever the heck you paint.. That puts you in a league of your own.
I tried doing this, and I have a helpful (I hope) tip for anyone trying this one. At around 57.00, when Jason uses the detail palette knife to make the line of sea foam, I had the devil's time getting it work right. However, when I tried using the fan brush (held perfectly flat and scrubbed horizontally instead of in a rocking motion) it worked perfect. Then is just used a clean, dry fan brush to pull the paint along the seaward edge, following the flow of the water. Hope this helped anyone doing this painting because if you follow Jason's steps, it really turns out quite nice.
The falling asleep part would be considered hypnotizing. Been viewing your videos for quite awhile now. Can't see how you don't have a prime tv show on how to paint. You've got it Jay and then some. The way you represent yourself and your paintings is just incredible. I'm not gunna compare you to anybody else because you are your own artist. You've worked hard to be where you are and deserve to be recognized as your own artist.

I like your arbitrary use of color. unique technique as well gives you that surrealistic feel.
At first i don't understand why it as all black, and as the painting was in progress i fell asleep. And when i woke up, i was like "whoa!" It's so beautiful! And i realized how great is our God and his masterpiece we see around!
I think this is absolutely wonderful. Some of those hateful comments some people posted are just whack. I truly love this painting. The colors are so peaceful while also being exciting. Can't wait to paint this.

I have been a "devotee" of Bob Ross for just a short space of time and was feeling his seascapes were dated - which of course they are as they were done many years ago. I am delighted to find this page and excited to replicate this painting myself. Thanks for the inspiration

Incredably beautiful, Jason. I, like some of the others below, am limited to acrylics which simply do not compare in painting results.
