@@alphawolf32 Honestly I don't run the fire anymore. It's not worth it. I actually just made this ronin build video to show you what I run now: ua-cam.com/video/1MCpNlvjvhI/v-deo.html
Subscribed! I was playing assassin because I love sneaking around and planning my strategy of stealth kills, but you’re making the samurai look real fun.
Completed my first nightmare survival nearly the same set up, albeit I went with increased parry at low health. Blessed strikes are a god send. Still grinding to unlock more stuff but modding samurai charm to get this was worth it.
I run the perk that lets you have 2 legendaries equipped on my hunter just so i can run both stone skipper bow and spirit kunai, that 15 second cooldown reduction is so good, having exploding arrow available almost all the time just melts groups in survival. Will definitely try this build if RNG ever blesses my Samurai with a charm :(
I run something similar but I use master katana with moon for aoe damage and since enemies can't stun you while doing it you become a spinning deity of destruction with explosive blade. I think a Ronin is best tank. Run healing gourd for 10% dmg reduction defense charm for another 10% dmg reduction with leeching parry or more health. Weaning burst for 25% more damage reduction. And the rest is up to you :). this means you get 45% innate damage reduction with a self heal. Maybe spirit kunai for cool down reduction or the charm that prevents you from dying or forbidden medicine for the legendary. Enjoy!
But then that explosive blade becomes a lengthy cooldown that you can't mitigate since you're using a legendary katana, unless you gave up the two extra ult strikes to make room for the kunai. That's a damage loss. Plus since this build uses the kunai, you want more cooldowns that will synergize with the kunai, hence way of the flame. Water stance with way of the flame on a manageable cooldown will make it so that you can take on any category of enemy in the game. Sure it's not as optimal as having all four stances, but keeping the four stances isn't worth what you have to give up to maintain access to them There's no need to build ronin so tanky. You can have strong survivability and support and still deal solid damage: ua-cam.com/video/1MCpNlvjvhI/v-deo.html
@@GaroShadowscale hence why the Ronin is best tank :) not samurai I agree spirit kunai are good and so is this build, this is an alternative since if you mess up kunai (which does happen) then your out of options anyway
I will definitely try and copy this build! Have you got any other builds for the other classes on the way too¿ This is some insightful content right here.
Thank you! This is my only up to date build video. I do have a ronin build video as well but it's slightly outdated. I aim to make build videos like this for all the other classes in the very near future
@@GaroShadowscale Fair enough man, I'll keep my eyes peeled out for them then especially the new ronin build 👀. Other than that keep you the great content!
For my samurai build I use a similar build but the couple of things I use that are different are: instead of way of the flame I use water master which increases the damage with every flurry which takes one flurry to take a standard enemy down. I also use the 10% melee damage technique instead of the 25% health. So with everything stacked up it adds an extra 40% melee damage ( samurai charm, and kunai both also have melee damage as well as the water katana). I don’t have spirit kunai so I use the epic kunai and do the same build. And lastly I have the ledendary healing smoke bombs for my 2nd ghost weapon. Which that added with the blessed strikes it’s very rare if I go down, I probably go down only once or twice in a match if that (for survival). So In summary with 40% stacked melee damage combined with water master added flurry damage, you are an absolute unstoppable monster in any game format you choose whether it be raids or survival or missions. But I will say if I had the spirit kunai I would probably use that, but the legendary healing smoke is very clutch because it’s another healing option as well as an ability to build resolve fast with assassinations. If anyone wants to try this build I suggest it very highly. I average 240 kills per survival match and as stated I rarely go down it’s very fun.
If you feel that you don't need the extra 25 hp, then you can rock 10% extra melee damage for sure! I'm sticking with the 25 extra hp for nightmare/raid since it saves my life sometimes though As for Water Master, don't forget that way of the flame is also unblockable, so it helps a lot with spear enemies where your water stance is normally ineffective. But yes, water master will always be in effect while way of the flame will only be relevant while it's active. That being said, I didn't feel water master added that much more damage. Also remember that spirit kunai gets you all of your cooldowns back faster, including way of the flame and explosive blade and the kunai itself and caltrops! I'd recommend giving it a shot! The healing from legendary smoke is alright and it gives you temporary peace and quiet, but since you're not an assassin, your dps will go down while going through the slow animations of critical strikes and assassinations. With spirit kunai, you'll get your explosive blade back way more frequently which means much more uptime on blessed strikes Thank you for sharing and best of luck with your matches
@GaroShadowScale....I just wana give you a BIG thanks.Your samurai build has worked so well for me It would be foolish of me to change up anything and expect better results.Back then I could of never dream of playing solo on gold story or even nightmare story.Because of you,my samurai is so powerful I can now breeze through solo gold story with relative ease and it’s never been so satisfying than it is now lol lol...I love the samurai class,it was the first class I started playing with.I got so comfortable with playing with the samurai class I don’t even want to play with another class.i just can’t abandon the Samurai code, otherwise the shogunate will come after me lol lol lol lmao 😂....Please invite me when your playing survival nightmare I haven’t had the chance to enjoy it coz people keep quitting like 5 minutes into the start of the first wave. Thanks Again.
You're so welcome dude! I'm really really happy to hear that! That means a lot to me! Hah, alright! I won't be playing the game much more. This build is amazing! Really appreciate the vid, I went ahead and built this for my samurai and absolutely love it. Are there any plans to make an assassin build video? I feel like a lot players don’t know how to fine tune that class, included myself 😅 Anyways, you got a subscriber for life keep up the great work/vids love the raptor 🙂
You have another subscriber, thanks for this build and specially the one for the ronin... My samurai is built around ultimate resolve and dmg, but feel that this build is better for the raid and nightmare survival.
Folks this vid is the real deal DON’T LOOK ANY FURTHER !! I was able to slice through the crow men like a hot knife through butter !!!...I use to fear the crow men on both story, survival, and nightmare story modes.Never again,in fact i take the fight to them with way of the flame + surging strikes combo. Before they can even spit their crows at me they are already dead.Because way of the flame is an unblock-able attack. And we all know the crow men are the toughest enemies in the game. And if you pop your ultimate ability and activate explosive blade at the same time,u would have already killed both of them in 2 strikes while the other 3 takes out any enemies nearest to you and your completely refilling your health all at the same time wow.Now that is bad ass.The samurai class is the most efficient, fast, and extremely powerful class of the 4.And best of all, your Samurai will no longer be dependent on Ronins for heal,no health drums either.Bottom line, you gain complete health while killing, you often will eliminate most of the enemies on screen, your kills streaks will be unmatched, you will be self dependent, but very valuable and reliable to your co-op teams,And you will look godly in style while dishing the pain with relative ease.Just choose an offensive strategy that works for you and stick to the formula.one strategy I like to use is to take out the archers especially the poison and fire arrows. They can cripple your kill strategy.so take them out first so u never have to be interrupted while reviving someone or trying to finish off an enemy that is if you don’t have your ultimate ability ready yet.You will love your Samurai....
Hey thanks, that really means a lot to hear. I didn't think any of my Tsushima subs still remembered me or watched my vids. I'll be honest though, I haven't even played the new multiplayer content yet, and it might stay that way. I spent months figuring out what the majority of my subscriberbase wants, and I think my newest vids are on the right track. It took a lot of effort to make these guide vids, and I honestly didn't really feel that the viewership transferred to the rest of my vids or to my overall channel very well
Well first I say I hope your using a samurai while trying to get it, but if you aren't, you can only get class specific charms by playing that specific class. But if you're doing it the right way i honestly think you should keep grinding for it, I have it myself and I can assure you it is worth it. If you're just doing story with no luck, try survival, I get tons of good loot there :)
@@tmntreaper2900 i was, i grinded with my samurai from rank 20 til 40, then i got bored and started getting other classes to 20. Now my ronin survived nightmare survival last night, and my samurai can only do nightmare story when lucky.
Okay I have a question that might sound stupid the cool down decrease on kill does it affect everything and do you have to actually kill an enemy with that ghost weapon to activate the cooldown And does the cooldown stack so if you keep killing an enemy the cooldown would keep stacking?
It depends. Hold R2 when looking at the modifications for the item to check. I think the ghost weapon CD decrease on kill only affects both ghost weapons, and the kill does not have to be with the ghost weapon (because even smoke bombs can have it). And yes the cooldown reduction should keep stacking as you kill enemies (though tbh I haven't kept an eye on it. I assume it's not buggy.). However, if you get the CD reduction on kill modification for a charm, it might be a bit different. Just hold R2 to check for yourself. I don't remember the specifics
Good question! I tried water master at one point. While it is true that if you're smacking oni constantly, you'll get more value out of water master since that buff is constant, Way of the Flame is solid burst damage that is UNBLOCKABLE. That means you can tear through any guard, including spear enemies, which is where water master will struggle. And thanks to spirit kunai, you can have solid uptime on way of the flame if you use the kunai properly. So yes I would absolutely use way of the flame over water master for this build. Without spirit kunai though, I'd be less sure.
Nice reply. I switched to way of the flame and its 10 times better. By far my favorite build. Farming the stupid blast radius perk on my charm but besides that, almost there!
I use the shogun charm that gives you immunity to poison and blind, now don’t need to worry to white sparking screen and green screen and can see the fight very well and not running and rolling blind. But I have one samurai charm I will switch to.
Yeah I highly encourage you to try blessed strikes on the samurai charm! You saw how much healing it got me in the vid. It's pretty awesome! That being said, I understand you 100% I freaking hate poison and blindness
Yes that sounds like a very nice charm to have but that’s pretty much all it’s useful for.But your right I do get annoyed by those poison arrows when they hit me and they often leave me open for attacks.
@@GaroShadowscale ...hey thanks for the guide. However they don’t mention the epic charms which some of them are exclusive to the epic class of charms.Like Ronin and samurai charms for example.I highly doubt there’s legendary samurai charm lol.And I hope there never won’t be because that means if I want to equip 2 legendary items I’ll have to sacrifice my ultimate ability from the cool & helpful 5 strikes down to only 3.And also I won’t be able to equip the legendary kunai. Now after watching your samurai build video I have an important question to ask.Why should I choose the epic water sword over the Yoshitsune’s hand ? I mean naturally by default, the Yoshitsune’s hand is already a water sword.Would it make any difference if I just add way of the flame to it ? That way I equip it as my legendary sword that already comes included with the 30% chance to stagger and if I add way of the flame I’ll be good right ? Thanks again GaroShadowScale...anyone who’s having doubts about the samurai class or have seen countless vids on ultimate samurai class don’t look any further coz GaroShadowScale’s ultimate samurai is the real deal folks.

Super cool man. Quick question, if the Blessed Strikes perk currently has "???" when I tried to reroll my gear, I could not get it from reroll, right? I guess I have to farm for a charm that has Blessed Strikes first before I can reroll for that perk? Thank you so much!
Sweet vid good advice but how on earth do you get blessed strikes? What's the best possible way to try farm them and is there any criteria you need to meet for all the classes before it's possible to unlock ? Ta, some yorkshire man x
Just need to grind until you get a samurai charm then reforge until you hit desired level, reforge again until you get the desired 2 bonus properties and finally reroll the third property until you get blessed strikes. It does drain you resources though.
Sadly there's no way around that currently except praying to the RNG gods while you grind. Make sure you're playing as samurai though. The class-specific charms only drop while playing as that class. So you have to play as a ronin to have a chance of a ronin charm dropping. You have to play as a samurai to have a chance of the samurai charm dropping, etc. As for the perks (like blessed strikes), again, RNG gods. You'll have to reroll on that samurai charm till you get the stats you want. And honestly, if you're broke on resources, don't worry about the first 2 perks too much. Just focus on getting blessed strikes
So, water master's advantage is that it's always active. Way of the flame will only benefit you when you activate the ability. I would say that water master will do better when shredding tankier oni enemies that don't block anyway. However, way of the flame's advantage is that it's unblockable. Since water stance isn't effective against spear enemies, Way of the Flame gives you a way to shred them
Thank you! Happy to hear it! And honestly I don't really do the raid anymore. I didn't really enjoy Chapters 1 and 2, and I've already played the heck out of Chapter 3
@@GaroShadowscale happy to say I got one if anyone is wondering a decent way to get one i ran severd hearts gold till I got one took a bit but worth it

Just for other people who are doing this sort of build. While it's really good, I would say having water stance isn't a prerequisite. I run a stone stance sword and I've found out a combo with extremely fast animations, even faster than surging strikes if you're able to execute it well. All you need to do is hit Square, then Triangle, then repeat it. Because the first animation for the fast and heavy strikes are always the fastest. This way if you're doing explosive blade with blessed strikes, you can heal more at a faster rate and tank enemies faster.
Hmm, that's an interesting idea that I haven't tried. Thanks for the info! That being said, shield enemies will now be a problem in addition to spear enemies. Yes this build has 2 weapon buffs to help with them, but that's still 2 separate categories of enemies which might be too much to keep up with even with the 2 buffs and spirit kunai
Of course! Something that works for me might not work for someone else afterall, to compensate for that I end up having dirt throw with the weaken perk and I have a fuckton of CD that works else with it as well. It just works so well with explosive blade I needed to share it.
You have super massive as the perk for the kunai but there is a perk that increases the thrown kunai to 5 i think that one might be a bit better as you have more kunai to gain more kills to get the cdr more
Not for nightmare/raid. The enemies are really tanky and you want to ensure that you can get at least one kill, so you want to maximize the damage per kunai. Maybe the 5 kunai would work better for the lower difficulties, but for the endgame, you want to make it as reliable as possible for you to secure at least one kill per kunai throw. If you run the 5 kunai modification, then you will have more difficulty even securing 1 kunai kill at nightmare/raid difficulty
I dont like using the kunai but ill give this a shot. I'm just too impatient to wait and time my kunai throws. I just want to button mash and get kills lol. My current build revolves around me taking damage to build my resolve and I spam it.
It does result in a slight variation of pacing, yes, but not by much! It's worth it for the significant reduction in Cooldowns, and you get used to it. Use what you enjoy and what works for you though
I found that extra blades is more for hitting multiple enemies at once rather than maximizing damage on individual enemies. I even tried getting up close to "shotgun" someone with it, and I didn't find it very reliable. Super massive is much more consistent and ensures maximum damage per kunai
I am definitely going for this build. However gears are RNG so how do I get legendary kunai or water katana epic at 105 ? I assume you reforge every 105 gear to 110?
@@GaroShadowscale No no no i know how to do his ultimate. But i mean the attacks with your katana. You are doing it in every video and it seems effective. But thanks for responding.
@@mmatej_44 Oh! That's water stance. While in water stance with the katana, hold triangle for a second then release and immediately start mashing triangle after the release
EQUIP A LONG BOW. You can get the versatile perk on a long bow and equip it to samurai to have a decent ranged weapon. It’s still not great but it’s better then the half bow imo. Also I think smoke bomb is a better option then caltrops.
If you're focus is ranged damage, then by all means go ahead. However, this samurai build isn't about ranged damage so the bow is only used for resolve gain. The shortbow shoots faster and will get you resolve quicker, and since we can run helmet penetration (which versatile wouldn't allow), we'll always be able to headshot any enemy to get that extra resolve Also smoke bomb can be used if you really feel you need a defensive option, but you will lose out on melee stagger damage, ghost weapon damage, and the stagger damage caused by the caltrop AoE on the ground. I have never felt that I needed a smoke bomb while using this build, except in last week's nightmare story to revive my downed teammate since those rapid fire oni archers wouldn't let me, otherwise
Long bow is nice for sniping archers. I find the half bow damage is too low for archer sniping and that’s really the only time I ever use range on my samurai. Smoke bomb is pretty great imo. I’ll take the ability to neutralize an entire zone over a bit of ghost and stagger damage.
@@GaroShadowscale Thank you so much for the tip of how to use the Kunai "properly". I have missed 50% or more... I almost stop using it! Can't get 15 seconds cool down hitting thin air...
Smoke is a defensive option if you want it, but you will lose a bit of kunai damage and melee stagger damage if you take it. I personally have been fine without it

Hmm, I remember not being impressed with moon stance and master last time I tried it, but it has been a while. I can't imagine it does well against shield or spear enemies though, plus you give up way of the flame, so that's one less cooldown you can use to cut through their guards. It's also one less cooldown that can benefit from spirit kunai's 15s reduction on kill

Just a heads up, some Resolve Gain perks are not functioning in case you are using them: www.reddit.com/r/ghostoftsushima/comments/jm6dge/range_resolve_gain_not_working_no_benefit/ I know some people run these builds to spam ultimates.
Wow... I guess I shouldn't assume that their perks function as intended. I was not aware of this; that's definitely a bug. Hopefully they'll patch it at least as fast as they patched the loot glitches. In the meantime it's probably better to run reload speed instead of ranged resolve gain, to maximize fire rate for the bow to indirectly maximize resolve gain. Honestly though, the bow is so rarely used for my Samurai that I probably won't bother rerolling it. Thanks for the heads up
This is a good video but there is a reason I stopped playing Samurai, that is because this build is extremely hard to play. The problem is that the healing completely depends on Explosive blades being active, and the issue you get is while it is active, killing an enemy will not take away from the cooldown since the cooldown hasn't yet began. You'll be left running around trying to judge when an enemy has low enough health to get the killing blow with the kunai but making sure explosive blades cooldown has started. It's why I switched to Hunter / Ronin. The samurai needs a huge buff
You're right about needing to make sure explosive blade is finished before throwing the kunai, but you can get the feel for that over time with practice! Oddly enough it seems like way of the flame does not have the same issue and can get the -15s CD reduction even while it's active. But yeah I do wish the CD for explosive blades would start right when popping the ability. While that is a headache though, Samurai is my favorite class and honestly I'm happy with it where it is. He has very strong self-sustain and solid damage. I do wish team comps weren't as dependent on Ronin though. Ronin are just so insanely strong, which is why I play it more than Samurai too. If they could somehow balance team comps so that Ronin was still strong but not as necessary in compositions, then that might indirectly buff other classes
@@GaroShadowscale I started as a Samurai but I changed realising he's too weak for me. Hunter damage from far is literally crazy with skipping stones and pin point. I watched your Ronin video too, I run the same build but with spirit dog with larger healing radius. Not only does that took attract aggro, additionally heals you, can't die while he's active, is active for longer than samurai class ability and his cooldown is affected the moment he's launched meaning you can start reducing his cooldown at any point without some huge gap. I feel it is way better than the samurai class ability.
@Gutts....I partially agree with you. No class is perfect and even the samurai class has its weaknesses. The samurai’s strengths far outweighs its weaknesses. You have to develop your attack plan and stick to it.GaroShadowScale’s take on the samurai build actually works and you can find tune it to your liking.Yes your right the healing process depends on the explosive blade but once that’s used up to heal you,you have your way of the flame at your disposal and if you water stance that you quickly can fill up your resolve to unleash a hatchiman’s fury.if that’s used up u can dish out your kunai and if it’s a group of enemies coming after you simply drop your caltrops to slow them down also disrupting them briefly from doing their attacks this is where you u go in and score some quick surging strikes with your water stance..
@@aryanmada8474 Wow that's a great roll! As for the kunai, it can drop for any class. I've gotten it for multiple. I don't think different classes increase drop rate for the kunai. So just keep grinding and pray to the RNG gods. Best of luck

Yeah I know what you mean. When you're focusing a target down with your katana, try to wait about a half second before throwing your kunai to finish them off. If you throw it right away, it'll go right through them for some reason

i dnno i was using explosive blade with the samurai as i misread it as i only thought blessed strike heals you when exploding blade is active but you can siphon 2 enemies health and attack an enemy while consistantly giving yourself health back and continously getting up and getting attacked while filling your resolve faster by being hit and dealing damage. i don't think explosive blade is that good. with the samurai you want his ult as fast as possible to deal with the spear demon oni's every other enemy is easy to deal with. i had 10 damage, 77 explosive impact and blessed strike but when you come up against 3 oni at once in the later rounds of survival you're kind of out of luck if u don't have his ult imo and even with all the high damage buffs which i had on my samurai it still takes forever to widdle down the spear onis health. But then again definately looks like there is a big difference between the 80% mark radius oppose to the 77% radius. I think the developers did a really amazing job creating the abilities, a lot of different ways to handle a scenario.
The double siphon definitely adds extra healing, but I don't see it as necessary. I prefer the damage and CC bonus from Explosive blade, and thanks to the radius, it can work in a decent sized AoE too. Surging strikes from water stance is a very fast combo that can get you resolve and healing quickly, especially while explosive blade is active. Yes those spear demon oni can be a pain but I don't think siphoning extra hp is the answer. If anything, applying more pressure with explosive blade should help and still get you more than enough healing But yes, very true! Many different ways to approach these situations
@@GaroShadowscale true. pretty interesting the difference between the 77 mark of the explosive blade and the 80 mark, very noticeable, their is not much aoe damage in the 77 mark when using the ability. i have to use the master katana and change the stances up otherwise i find it boring. god those oni spear demonds are ffing annoying. btw what diod u do to farm just play gold missions?

@@Final_Fantasy_7 I appreciate that! Unfortunately I think efficient raid runs are the fastest way to get honor now. I'm not aware of any exploits atm. No way around the grind, I'm afraid 😓
I have a similar build I made a week ago but it does more damage and has more sustain. Just wanted to say masamunes edge is worth it with "Way of the flame". For sheildmen and swordsmen you can just counter or run at them and kill them stupid quick if you have the dmg and utility. AND YOU COMPLETELY COUNTER WIND ENEMIES. Which helps against ONI SPEARMEN and BRUTES with the WIND STANCE KICK.
But you lose water stance. You lose the fast combo and the versatility against other enemies. Wind stance has the slowest combos and they leave you wide open. Combine surging strikes from water stance with way of the flame and you tear through enemies. If you're stuck with wind stance, then either you're doing the slow wind stance attacks or hitting square for the basic attacks that slow down after a few hits. If the 20% chance to deal damage legendary bonus was on a water katana instead, I'd strongly consider it! But losing out on water stance just for that damage bonus isn't worth it
@@GaroShadowscale Well to counter the slow attacks just side dodge and continue. And I kill most enemies so fast from the dmg it tends to not matter if that last attack is slow as long as their guard is open. Surging strikes damage doesnt even do as much as the stone stance pierce attacks. If it was on water instead then those quick attacks X2 would not deal a lot of dmg. Sure its fast and a lot of attacks but your multiplying a lot of weak attacks that accumulate too be strong at the end. So I dont see how multiplying a small dmg number could be all that beneficial. To play wind you need skill. You have to be able to perfect parry and perfect dodge. But it's not all the time, especially when you have way of the flame and explosive strikes. Also Water Stance is trash against breaking Oni's guards who dont have shields. And even the Oni with the spear and shield still takes significant stamina dmg to their guard from wind. And the Oni brutes as well. I tested it to see how versatile it was and I found it to be the best stance in my opinion. A big part of it is taking spearmen out of the picture and being able to easily take out smaller enemies with the kick IF NEEDED and like I said the stam dmg and restarting the chain for fast attacks. WATER STANCE IS ONLY REALLY NEEDED FOR THOSE WHO CANT PERFECT PARRY OR FIND IT HARD TO FIGHT SHIELDMAN. Otherwise it's not needed. Especially when it's not good against Oni's
@@danielcolby7920 You can literally break the guard of a standard spear/shield oni with a single water stance combo with this exact build. And you're not just doing stamina damage, you're doing hp damage at the same time, all while rapidly applying whatever buff effect (explosive blade and/or way of the flame) and generating resolve extremely quickly while doing a rapid combo that's easy to cancel into a perfect parry or perfect dodge if needed. Unlike wind stance where you'd be locked in a long combo and unable to cancel at times to perfect parry or perfect dodge a separate enemy, you can heavily pressure a singular enemy and be ready at literally any moment to perfect parry/dodge another enemy. You do have to perfect dodge/parry on wind because you don't have a choice. It's too risky for you to be aggressive. That's not the case with water. I literally have zero problem with spearmen thanks to the low cooldown of these buffs with spirit kunai. So I fail to see how this build is for people who "can't perfect parry."
@@GaroShadowscale I never said the """"""""build"""""""" I said water stance is. Those problems you talk about with wind stance I have not encountered and of course wind stance is still going to be better at deleting wind enemies while your attacking. And I'm not sure if you realized but hitting triangle against spearmen counters them endlessly including Oni spearmen (at least half their Oni spearmen attacks) and your doing more dmg than water stance can against that type. But yeah Water Stance is for people who cant deal with shields very well (All you have to do is counter it doesnt take long either if you do a lot of dmg) because at high lvls of play like nightmare it's no good against the most prominent enemy, ONI. You dont always have to counter btw. You can run up and slash them down before their guard comes up lol. Although I will have to check out resolve gains and if it really helps apply status effects as much as you emphasized.

Use fired up on your caltrops and you’ll really be doing some damage.. if you wanted to be even more technical, Use the fired up caltrops and finish them with your Kunai Plenty of instances where enemies were one shot after trynna walk through my caltrops👍🏽
I'd use fired up if this was a burning build but I have absolutely no increases to fire damage here. And since this video is about the endgame and nightmare/raid difficulty, my unbuffed burning likely won't hit very hard, and I'd rather have the larger circle of caltrops to more reliably inflict stamina damage at least

Completed my first nightmare survival nearly the same set up, albeit I went with increased parry at low health. Blessed strikes are a god send. Still grinding to unlock more stuff but modding samurai charm to get this was worth it.
Happy to hear it! Keep it up
this build actually sounds amazing, i will definitely give it a go
Thank you! Best of luck
I run the perk that lets you have 2 legendaries equipped on my hunter just so i can run both stone skipper bow and spirit kunai, that 15 second cooldown reduction is so good, having exploding arrow available almost all the time just melts groups in survival. Will definitely try this build if RNG ever blesses my Samurai with a charm :(
The rng grind is bloody. But better than most games. And the best part is that Legends is free 😁
Makes sense! Spirit kunai is just that awesome! And best of luck with the drops
Sure it's not as optimal as having all four stances, but keeping the four stances isn't worth what you have to give up to maintain access to them
There's no need to build ronin so tanky. You can have strong survivability and support and still deal solid damage: ua-cam.com/video/1MCpNlvjvhI/v-deo.html
@@GaroShadowscale hence why the Ronin is best tank :) not samurai
I agree spirit kunai are good and so is this build, this is an alternative since if you mess up kunai (which does happen) then your out of options anyway
I will definitely try and copy this build! Have you got any other builds for the other classes on the way too¿ This is some insightful content right here.

Great video bud! Enjoyed it. Would like to see hunter and assassin!
Thank you! Working on it! I hope to have hunter out tonight! Make sure you sub and hit the noti bell so you don't miss it
The legendary kunai perk affects the kunai itself too?
Ah yes! I showed it in clips but forgot to say that vocally. It effects every cooldown, including the kunai itself!
I'm sticking with the 25 extra hp for nightmare/raid since it saves my life sometimes though
As for Water Master, don't forget that way of the flame is also unblockable, so it helps a lot with spear enemies where your water stance is normally ineffective.
With spirit kunai, you'll get your explosive blade back way more frequently which means much more uptime on blessed strikes
Thank you for sharing and best of luck with your matches

I'm really glad to hear the build is working so well for you! And thanks for the kind words

Well first I say I hope your using a samurai while trying to get it, but if you aren't, you can only get class specific charms by playing that specific class.
So I have water master which gives you the extra damage for your surging strike ability. Would you still take way of the flame over that?

Or maybe it doesn't? keep finding conflicting sources.
I haven't tested it myself, but I'm not aware of +ranged damage affecting the kunai
Do you use Samurai or Assassin more?
Samurai 100%. Though tbh I don't really play much anymore
Thanks mate. Imma do it!🔥

How useful is water master over way of the flame?
So, water master's advantage is that it's always active. Way of the flame will only benefit you when you activate the ability. I would say that water master will do better when shredding tankier oni enemies that don't block anyway. However, way of the flame's advantage is that it's unblockable. Since water stance isn't effective against spear enemies, Way of the Flame gives you a way to shred them
Nice guide but I was distracted by the taking dine all the time :D.
Thank you! I'm glad you like it

Blessed Strikes over Combat Regeneration?
YES! anytime. Combat Regen is extremely weak compared to blessed strikes. it litterally takes 2-3 hits to fill up to a 100%
Absolutely! It's an insane amount of healing as shown by clips in this vid. And thanks to the spirit kunai, you can have much higher uptime on it
is there any specific thing i should be farming to get a samurai charm
Nope! Just make sure you're playing as a samurai while you do farm. That's the only way it'll drop
@@GaroShadowscale happy to say I got one if anyone is wondering a decent way to get one i ran severd hearts gold till I got one took a bit but worth it
Just wondering have you tried 50 % injury gain on any of your build to get very fast supers
I haven't. Making a build around intentionally taking damage sounds a bit strange to me, especially for nightmare/raid difficulty
I found as I died with 4 or 5 hits I got my super so quick then I add 50 health and killed with my super then use spirit pull and blazen strike to get health back full.sence the update finding it hard to get resources to roll on gear
How about extra blades instead of super massive
I found that extra blades is more for hitting multiple enemies at once rather than maximizing damage on individual enemies. I even tried getting up close to "shotgun" someone with it, and I didn't find it very reliable. Super massive is much more consistent and ensures maximum damage per kunai
I am definitely going for this build. However gears are RNG so how do I get legendary kunai or water katana epic at 105 ?

Caltrops are awesome for bottlenecking mobs
Indeed they are
EQUIP A LONG BOW.
The shortbow shoots faster and will get you resolve quicker, and since we can run helmet penetration (which versatile wouldn't allow), we'll always be able to headshot any enemy to get that extra resolve
Also smoke bomb can be used if you really feel you need a defensive option, but you will lose out on melee stagger damage, ghost weapon damage, and the stagger damage caused by the caltrop AoE on the ground.
I still 👍 the video tho 😁

Hmm, I remember not being impressed with moon stance and master last time I tried it, but it has been a while. I can't imagine it does well against shield or spear enemies though, plus you give up way of the flame, so that's one less cooldown you can use to cut through their guards. Just a heads up, some Resolve Gain perks are not functioning in case you are using them: www.reddit.com/r/ghostoftsushima/comments/jm6dge/range_resolve_gain_not_working_no_benefit/
I know some people run these builds to spam ultimates.
Thanks for the heads up
Your katana will be crazy
Yisssssss

@@nickywan123 Back when I last played a couple months ago, I think chapter 3 of the raid was fastest if you have a proper group! Otherwise, you can spam the first or second gold story mission (or nightmare if you can handle it) over and over again
i dnno i was using explosive blade with the samurai as i misread it as i only thought blessed strike heals you when exploding blade is active but you can siphon 2 enemies health and attack an enemy while consistantly giving yourself health back and continously getting up and getting attacked while filling your resolve faster by being hit and dealing damage. i don't think explosive blade is that good. with the samurai you want his ult as fast as possible to deal with the spear demon oni's every other enemy is easy to deal with. i had 10 damage, 77 explosive impact and blessed strike but when you come up against 3 oni at once in the later rounds of survival you're kind of out of luck if u don't have his ult imo and even with all the high damage buffs which i had on my samurai it still takes forever to widdle down the spear onis health.
If anything, applying more pressure with explosive blade should help and still get you more than enough healing
But yes, very true!
