now the differences are that i went with base 30% extra assassin damage skill and I pushed for Cooldown reduction on kill up to 8 seconds(can get max of 10 seconds). I also was not able to get more than roughly 70% stealth attack damage. I am almost always in stealth. Do you find the cooldown reduction percentage better?
Being able to stealth more frequently is definitely nice! I just wanted to be able to reliably 1-shot pesky targets like crow demons and oni archers. I'm glad you found something that works for you though

This is a great Assassin build. Ronin is pretty much the only character that brings support to the group in this game until you have assassin priority targeting. This build helps a group tremendously. I've gotten nice rolls as well, 4.0 seconds reduced cd on kill on my spirit Kunai as well as 3.8 seconds on my smoke bomb. Working on the Assassin charm now, so far no luck on my rolls with it haha
Man honor is always at a low. I'm still trying to roll the ronin charm. It always screws me! Good vid man, not what I would have chosen, so its opened my mind a little. My main pain with the super assassination is I never look at my resolve. So I go to hit triangle and I just heavy hit instead ! Really frustrating
Yes! I make that mistake sometimes too. Sometimes I also expect a super assassinate is needed when in reality a regular assassination is enough so I accidentally do a heavy attack. Definitely something that can improve with practice, but I know your pain
Yeah honestly I feel like 'sin could be stronger. While he does pick off individual annoying targets better than anyone else, overall I'd say he underperforms compared to other classes. Hunter is definitely very strong, especially with stone skipping bow
Like the vids a lot. Burning through them now. But Hysteria is fantastic if you let it work. The issue with it is people don't realize when you have them hallucinating, there is no reason to be close to them. Use it outside of defense areas and get away from them. All it does is help. They kill enemies and also keep them from occupying the circle. The noobs who attack them deserve their aggression lol
It can stall groups of enemies, yes, but I see it as an unnecessary delay. At least in the endgame, we're grinding nightmare to clear it quickly. When I duo with my friend, we can easily and consistently clear nightmare matches with 2 other randoms without having to stall enemies. The other issue is that you can't turn off hysteria mid-match. So you can't do any assassinations on point without causing hysteria to all surrounding enemies. But yes, what you mentioned is the best possible use of hysteria. I just don't see it as worth it from my experience

Legit, that's why I love these build videos. I just save up the honor I can and check out different builds. They really really need a fast way to earn honor, very time consuming doing a 45 min gold survival and only earning enough honor for like 2 reforges.

This is why I had no qualms about grinding the exploits for gear and honor. The reward system needs buffed or they need to lower the cost to reforge. Or we need a new exploit if they don’t want to address those issues 🤷🏻♂️
I run a similar build using your advice but with hysteria and two legendary items. I find hysteria lets me hold down a location on my own while the mongrels fight themselves and I pick off easy targets. If a hysteria target tries to go for you then don't be afraid to destroy them. Once all easy targets are finished with the help of spirit kunai, I rip through oni with super assassinations and help of others if they aren't busy. Maybe not as efficient as extra vanishes but it's the only legend I think you can comfortably stack legendary katana in nightmares and still utilise his strengths.
I love the game but am sick of grinding too lol still trying to get certain legendaries and they never drop and I never feel like doing more than 2-3 Gold missions since I can't do nightmare
I've been doing well on nightmare running basically this build, only difference is that I use munitions trait on my smoke bomb and a bomb pack instead of blowgun (I weave in bomb throws in combat to keep enemies staggered, and bombs fill resolve fast when enemies are clustered)

I’m addicted to hysteria. Run in, drop two enemies and the entire wave is fighting each other. Insane. Worth way more than the one extra vanish assassinate from second chain vanish, and a lot of the time there are enemies that just aren’t noticing you b/c now they’re fighting themselves. Understand you don’t like it but i don’t find it hard to play around. Also makes it easy to hold a point on your own at any wave
That's just the issue I have with it though. If it's a bunch of those mace-wielding oni that do the AoE circle burst on the ground or the fire gun brutes or the spear/shield oni that spew the AoE fire fragments, it causes them to be much more aggressive since they have many more targets, which can result in a lot more AoEs on point, which makes them less predictable and makes it harder for me and my allies to get in and do damage. However, when it's mostly the regular mongol enemies, hysteria definitely makes them more vulnerable! It's just that this build is intended for nightmare/raid, so there are a considerable amount of oni enemies (depending on what part of the raid you're doing). I think hysteria is ok off-point, but on point it's caused me more harm than good. There's a limit to how many enemies can attack an individual target (like you) at once. That's why you can run into a point surrounded by 20 enemies and only 1 or 2 can attack you at a time. And if an archer is about to shoot you, the enemies become more passive in that moment. To each their own though! I'm happy to hear it works for you

Can you give an update on the best assassin build overall, for nightmare, raid, survival etc. since the patch? Experienced assassin isn’t available anymore and every build I can find now says “it’s critical”.
Nope! It's always active. If you hold R2 while going through the list of modifications, you can see the descriptions on each of them. For stealth attack damage, it says "Increases damage of stealth attacks". It's the same description for all three gear items
What about running assassins charm with 24% stealth attack 1st slot, then 19.7% stagger damage in slot 2? Then of course chain vanish. Stagger damage is only a slot 2 roll & I feel that may be more beneficial on my roll considering CDR on kill can only lower ghost weapons by 1-2 seconds? That or 2nd slot roll with ability cool down reduction?
I'm gonna be honest with you. I haven't played this game or thought about this stuff in a while now, so I can't really give you a good answer on that. But if you feel it works better for you, best of luck!
I stack damage increase on my ronin since he specializes in ghost weapon damage. But for my assassin and samurai, it's just about getting the kill finish with the kunai so I get the CD reduction. To each their own though! Also the legendary smoke bomb is nice for a bit of sustain! You'd have to give up a bit of dps to fit it into the build, but it's a nice way to get a bit of healing from time to time
Good build. But I think hallucination dart and status effect length for longer hallucination is better. You are not supposed to be using using hallucinations when the enemy is up close on you but on the bright oni when the horde spawn.

I understand that this is for survival, though i see you added raid in the title. I would like to clarify to beat the final chapter the fastest, you're gonna have to focus on stagger damage. If you get everything close to max, then you can 1 shot her stagger meter (If masuke's sword procs) Otherwise it takes 2 hits to stagger her. Youre gonna need to run masuke's sword, Enjos remorse, bombpack, caltrops and kunai with stagger damage mainly and the rest should be staggered damage or melee damage. But yeah this build is only for the Raid chapter 3, while yours is mainly for the other aspects of the game. Though mine is usefull to get the honor you need, or items.
Yeah this build is meant to be more general for the raid as a whole as well as nightmare survival. If I wanted to farm the boss specifically, then yes I'd probably build for either stagger damage or probably even perfect parry window + counter damage

I use it on almost all my builds. The CD refresh is amazing when you get the hang of it. I don't find it as useful on Hunter unless you're spamming burn though, since Hunter isn't really as cooldown dependent as the other classes
I don't know but I think it's possible to one shot those purple guys. Your smoke bomb and your stealth charm are in charge to grant not only one time +25% stealth damage but even two times. So if I count this right and min max it of course it equals 125% extra stealth damage just from the gear. Add those 50% from staggered enemies assassination + the super assassinate which should double those 175%. So I hope it's possible to one shot purple oni with this build. But I can't make that build happen because the grinding in this game sucks. And to roll the perfect stats is to frustrating. Every day I scroll threw UA-cam if someone maybe got it. Just to let me answer those question I asked my self from the beginning of the game. I say goodbye and keep up your awesome content... I like your videos. That's actually not the case. You cannot stack the same modification twice in a row on the same exact item. If you use it in one slot, it will no longer be available for use in the other And thank you! Best of luck

Just tested this on nightmare survival with the purple spear wielding Oni. Was running 73% stealth Damage, 10% Oni damage, toxic vanish, super strike and opportunist. I hit him with a weaken dart and then peppered him with poison darts until he staggered. The super strike got him to roughly 20% of his health. So yeah I don’t think you can one hit those purple Onis. If you can’t one hit those mobs I see no reason to spec into toxic vanish and opportunist. The build in this video is probably the better option.
I would go with 2 Legendary, smoke and kunai, u need that small heal from the smoke to remove poison, also with gain first resolve on use to do that 2x damage if u go for a difficult target first like a crow and the kunai 15 % cd, with skill can help you pop up that smoke back up really fast, cuz with smoke u kill chain like 4 enemy and u can do a second assassination even if he doesn't dies ,extremely efficient vs ONI( It has 120sec cd normally).Also effect duration is good, keeps the smoke up longer =more kills
Status effect duration effects how long smoke lasts? Are you sure? That's news to me A heal would be nice, but you'd have to give up a chain stealth for that. It's an option if you want more sustain though. At top levels you should have a Ronin you can count on though, otherwise the match is gonna be hard to win either way
@@lorddagoth1691 there is only 1 way ,farm the last boss, it's a 7 min fight but to get tehre u neeed a decent build to pass chapter 2 atleast 1 time....i did it in 2 hours and a half with good group and all the chests.Playing dungeons it's also OK but lower drop rate.
I like shadow strike more. Its synergizes great with Masamunes edge. Im usually on top with kills. Its a mix between stealth and ultimate dmg and it works perfectly fine for me...
That's fair! Though I'd ask you, why run assassin over samurai? Samurai's ult comes out faster and they can stand their ground on point better and sustain better with their own healing. If you're not stacking enough stealth damage to 1-shot annoying targets, it's hard to see what assassin puts on the table, itself.

Hunter maybe better for mobbing, but assassine can kill big onis pretty fast, faster as Sam imo.I have a charm with chain assassination, smoke bomb and dirt throw. I use bombs to build up my ult fast. I can clear a pt on nm survival on my own until rd 18- 20, when 2 of the big purple ones are coming. Then it gets a little tricky atwhile. Sam better at this yes, bec of his self heal. But i like running the assassine with stealth and ult dmg. Works pretty good

That is definitely what hysteria is best at! Stalling the enemies before they reach the point, however, if you have a solid endgame team, then stalling enemies is unnecessary. You and your team should be killing enemies very quickly regardless, even in nightmare/raid. Plus, you can't control when your assassination hallucinate vs. when they don't. So if you assassinate an enemy on point, all nearby enemies on point are also hallucinated. That means the enemies will be more aggressive since they have more enemies to target, which means more AoE attacks and less predictability. That can making holding a point more difficult for you and your team. Chain vanish gives you more dps and survivability garoshBlep
I know hysteria can be chaotic as you said. But if you intend on holding a point on your own as an assassin, you have to run it. This build is probably ok if you're not playing with randoms. Otherwise, you need the healing bombs and hysteria.
I will say that this build will struggle if you don't have a single ronin on your team. You'll have to play very well and avoid damage. Though tbh, at nightmare/raid difficulty level, you SHOULD have a ronin on your team. They're too good not to have. If you're going to run bombs, you're weakening your stealth attack damage and losing the weaken darts to help with some assassinations. It would probably be better to just run ronin, itself, in that case. As for holding a point, this build heavily focuses on reducing its cooldowns as much as possible. You can go chain vanish > smoke bombs + kunai > chain vanish again and pretty much everything is already dead. Plus you're picking off most of the very dangerous/annoying targets right off the bat while chain vanished, so what remains isn't very dangerous aside from the halberd oni.
@@GaroShadowscale I'll have to try it out. Right now my assassin focuses on cool down as well with the kunai. Only difference is the bomb pack and I don't run super assassination. But it's worth a shot of I grind the honor 🤦🏽♂️
@@GaroShadowscale finally got the honor to try this out and i gotta say that I like it. I did however adjust it a bit. First, I just had to go back to the bomb pack. The reason is that sometimes I feel like I need that resolve to super assassinate but I just don't have it! This way I can use the bombs to fill up resolve and then vanish to super assassinate. This also allows me to nuke targets that I otherwise couldn't because they were partially damaged by the bombs. Also when close to three resolve, I top myself off then ult and afterwards I use the smokebomb with sudden resolve and I get a free super assassination after the ult.
Toxic vanish is better on survival bcuz of the stagger. Raid on the other hand group vanish is better. Both techniques can be mixed and matched to suit ur style of gaming
It's pretty satisfying to stagger like 20 enemies with toxic vanish spam, ngl, but the issue is, you're only going to be able to capitalize on like 1 or 2 of those staggers before they all get their stamina back fully. And you sacrificed a considerable amount of cooldown for that. I never felt it was worth it. However, if you're never roaming solo and constantly with at least one more teammate at all times, I could maybe see the value in toxic vanish. Otherwise, I need the cooldown as low as possible, so group vanish for me
Spirit kunai refreshes my cooldowns so I can stealth much more frequently which means more DPS. If you're using that sticky bomb for more survivability, you might as well run the forbidden medicine instead. You'd lose assassination damage though
Don't know if I'm just seeing things, but if I recall correctly, then the final ability on your gear does not require honor. Mine always takes blessings and essence.
That's correct! But I had already rerolled an individual modification on that blowdart, so I no longer had the freedom to reroll the final ability on top of that. I'd have to reroll the entire item instead and lose my high Stealth attack Damage
I think you are wrong about hysteria. Problem with double stacking chain vanish is often times in nightmare you’ll have not many enemies you can assassinate thus disrupting your chain vanish. Two times is fine but three makes you a little too dependent on enemies being weaker so you can assassinate. Hysteria is wayyy better because you can single handedly hold a zone using smoke and vanish and getting cool down reduction on kill is OP because any kills that hallucinated enemies get counts towards your own kills. Hysteria is extremely powerful especially if holding a zone on your own you just have to play smart, keep a little distance, and utilize the status effects on your blowdart for maximum efficiency. Also while spirit kunai is good I use sticky bomb and mist so keep myself alive and weaken enemies. Spirit kunai is AMAZING but in a hysteria build it isn’t because you have to assassinate enemies for hallucination and killing with spirit kunai prevents that. Good luck my friend!
Yeah if hysteria is used correctly (not on the point) it is one of the best soft cc's in the game right now imo. 3 assassins using hysteria builds and myself running tronin ran through nightmare survival like it was nothing. Granted yes you do have to have to keep an eye on the enemies a little more because of the unpredictability, but the amount of damage they do to themselves is worth it.
Well that's why I stack so much stealth attack damage on this build and run super assassinate. You can 1-shot any non-oni enemy (except mongol leaders, I think). As for Oni, you can 1-shot some of them. Sometimes you might need to use a weaken dart as well. Because of this, when I am stealthed, I seek out the high-value targets (like oni archers and crow demons) and 1-shot them. If I'm surrounded by weaker enemies, then I might pop a smoke bomb to quickly farm lots of assassinations and resolve thanks to the faster assassinations perk. If it's mostly tanky oni enemies like the purple oni mace enemies, then yeah probably time to save the group vanish cooldown and focus on whittling them down and farming resolve. They're easy to fight when you figure out the small dodges needed to avoid most of their attacks. Sometimes I'll even ditch one at lower hp and work on another while waiting for my group vanish CD to return. Then when my CD is ready, I can assassinate both of them and just do a critical on the third opponent (on point ofc, to avoid hwatcha fire) As for halberd oni, I save my poison darts (and/or hallucination darts) for them to CC them a bit Healing mist is tempting for survivability. If I couldn't count on a ronin, I'd probably sacrifice a chain vanish for the healing smoke. And good points regarding hysteria, but man I just have had bad experiences with it. The enemies get less predictable and more AoE attacks get spammed. It really annoys me, so I avoid it. Good luck to you too, and thanks for the input
GaroShadowscale the trick is to hallucinate before they get to the point that way you don’t have to deal with all the Aoe spam. They’ll kill each other before they even get to the point.
As I said in the video, it makes fighting on point more difficult because enemies become more unpredictable. HOWEVER, you can use it off point to keep enemies distracted with each other far away from point. But unfortunately, this effects every assassination you ever do. You can't turn it off for point fighting. So really I prefer not to use it and go with chain assassinate instead to focus the really annoying targets down
That's fair! You lose assassination damage which makes it harder to 1-shot certain units at top difficulties, but it gives you sustain with forbidden medicine and more ults. Whatever works for you
I find the super assassination to be pretty useless considering it takes a whole resolve point just to do a big crit. if you can't consistantly one hit enemies anyway why use it if you basically have to do 2 crits anyway. also, if you have bomb puch. just bomb pouch em and assassinate
Because if you're stealthed and the assassination isn't fatal, you will lose your stealth. It will not refresh via chain vanish. The target must die before your assassination animation ends or you will not re-stealth. You need the super assassinate to make it easier to pick off high value targets with a 1-shot assassinate like crow demons or oni archers. Also if you throw bombs while stealthed, you will de-stealth afaik
@@GaroShadowscale the solution it''s to put Gain first rezolv on the smoke bomb, this was u use it close to your high hp target then go for the 2x damage and if he's not dead u can still do 2 more assassination skills on him until the smoke's dissipates. I usualy go for 2 Legendary's since u need heal and smoke has it. Also blow gun for 25% assassination damage ,i got it to 72,it's not capped it matters.

i think that the assassin is the most difficult class to balance correctly among the others... this is maybe the most effective build i've seen in the internet on the assassin, but still it feels very unbalanced compared to the others classes
Thank you! And yeah that's actually very true. I did my best to try to make assassin stand out from the other classes. He can pick off high value targets better than anyone else. If you try to make a build around his ultimate or around healing bombs, then you might as well play Samurai or Ronin, respectively.
Yup! And at nightmare/raid difficulty, you should definitely have a healer. Sacrificing dps in exchange for a little bit of sustain is not the route you want to go for assassin or hunter. Samurai can have strong dps and strong healing at the same time, at least, which is very fitting since he's intended to frontline and hold points. Hunter fights at range and assassin frequently hides safely in stealth and smoke bombs
Gotta disagree with you on this one personally. I run the bomb pack with 5 shadow storm and the 30% assassination boost and I can hold and clear zones without any help. Spirit kunai makes it super broken even if I can't one shot them with the super assassinate I can make then fragile enough to go down from 1-2 hits and then spam the ult to target specific problem people
That's understandable, and I'm glad that works very well for you! That playstyle is very similar to Samurai, aside from the bombs, though I do feel that Samurai could do it better. My assassin build can hold a point solo as well while also being very effective at roaming and picking off high-value targets. The reason why the assassination has to 1-shot (at least after the first or second stealth) is because if the target does not die during the assassination animation, chain vanish will not proc, wasting the extra stealths. Plus a non-fatal assassination results in a longer animation which will lead to hwatcha deaths if this occurs off point in nightmare survival. When used properly, Group stealth x3 -> smoke bomb -> Group stealth x3 can easily hold a point, plus you're immediately picking off the high value targets like crow demons and oni archers while going for assassinations, leaving only weaker enemies behind that you can easily spam down with surging strikes and finish with kunai to restore cooldowns. That being said, this build isn't the best against halberd oni, and that's when I use my poison darts (and/or hallucination darts for those running that) to stagger them long enough for me to get solid damage inflicted on them
Need help! For a week now I have not been able to start Legends Mode, I played it before, and now the launch button is completely gone. There is no way even from the plot to start and not in the settings and not on the main screen ... Even earlier, some kind of error "could not load the required configuration file" (the add-on itself was downloaded, in fact, the game weighs 52 ~) Who knows what help, but the feeling that I alone in the whole world could not play legends ... the game has already been rebooted many times

You can one shot assassinate crow deamons on nightmare with stagger damage, no need for this build, just dart em tonstagger and assasinate with over 60% stealth attack damage from items and 30% crom critical hit techniquie
You can, but you have to give up the faster assassination for it, which means you can easily get deleted by hwatcha if you ever assassinate anything off-point in nightmare survival. If you're running the build on something that doesn't have hwatcha, then the slower assassinate is ok. You'll still do lower dps in smoke bomb situations. But yes, situationally, the 50% more assassination dmg on staggered enemies might be worth it if you don't have hwatchas to worry about
I understand this build if you run a set team but, if you run with random nah. Tech group vanish, 30% assassin, quick and quiet, 2 extra strikes. Gear water k, ultimate damage and melee. Run forbidden med legendary. Assassin charm- stealth attack and ult damage with chain Assassination. Kunai melee damage and damage increase. Smoke bomb stealth attack damage and cool down on kill. You welcome. This is a 250 kill in nightmare surviva load out while healing your self.
No thanks. This is for nightmare/raid difficulty. It's expected for there to be a proper ronin. The assassin needs to specialize in what makes them unique, otherwise they might as well play samurai. Much better sustain and direct/ult damage. If you're struggling to get a ronin on your team for nightmare, consider being the ronin yourself or at least playing samurai.
I prefer to stack Ultimate damage, and fast resolve with bombs, spirit k for cd, Hysteria and smoke, the Oni soften themselves up by killing each other, then I finish them off with Ults.
I don't really agree with the hysteria, firstly it's fun and then I find that we save a lot of time. In Nightmare Survival, there are times when you find yourself all alone defending a position with 30 enemies, not to mention those that are invisible. you cannot remain forever camouflaged and it is not the legendary kunai which will change the situation. knowing that with the assassin, we can not really regain life, we use all the characteristics to maximize the damage. so for me, hysteria is almost essential. I'm level 70 with this class, I know what I'm talking about. I think on the contrary that this characteristic is underestimated And badly used, of course, one should not jump on the onis which make aoe ! after, each his opinion, I respect the different opinions. in any case still a great video bro! good continuation.
Yeah but if the enemies aren't hysteria'd, it doesn't matter how many there are. The game mechanics only allow a very small number to target you at a time. That being said, yes, I understand where you're coming from. I've played plenty of assassin as well, and I've found hysteria causes more problems than it's worth. That being said, it's a good way to stall enemies off-point, but anytime it happens on point, it makes my battles much more difficult. As for fun, that's subjective. I find it much more fun to do the killing myself, especially 1-shotting the targets that annoy me a lot on all my other characters. I don't enjoy sitting back and just watching the enemies gradually kill each other off, and honestly their dps against each other isn't great, but it does take pressure off of you and your allies, if that's needed. The times when you're not in stealth/smoke_bomb, you should be targeting easy enemies to farm up resolve. Medium-difficulty enemies are what you 1-shot in stealth, and the hard ones you save for last. As for no healing, yes, a healer is needed, but if you're on raid/nightmare, you should have a healer.

Besides, it reminds me of your video on ronin, you were very happy to be able to one shot enemies with spiritual kunai, and it really makes me laugh to see enemies tear their mouths between them. after as I said, everything is a question of point of view.
Yeah I've tried these builds and I just can't run these builds. Yeah I understand stealth damage might be good but you're just a passive player. Not really aggressive. Trying a different build like a glass cannon.

Seem like the assassin got the dead end when it comes to killing quickly in nightmare. I have best for builds for other classes that really work. Not to trash your build but mine is way better for assassin. I'm pretty sure that stealth attack dmg scales only up to 50% from gear items because with the blowgun my dmg is pretty much the same as without it. It's much better to build around stealth attack and the assassin's ultimate, instead of the blowgun go for bombs because that gives you your ultimate back in just seconds. I finished gold survival with 350+ kills with my build.
You're saying that SAD might be bugged? Well, I didn't think to test if the game's modifications actually function as intended. If they're bugged, then that does change things. Assuming they're not though, I stand by my build. If I made a build revolving around the ultimate, I'd just run samurai instead. The Samurai ult comes out much faster. If I made a build focused on the bombs, I'd just run ronin instead. Assassin's gotta do something unique
@@GaroShadowscale It's not bugged. There's a cap for a reason. I've tested this and the OP is right, the cap is 50%. It's better to go half Stealth / Ult. Or Stealth / Oni damage. Oni damage seems to deal more damage than staggered
@@marknadin8183 That's a bug. I fail to see any legitimate reason for that cap. If it truly does exist, then until it gets patched, that does free up a modification slot and potentially an item with it

With just 50% stealth attack damage, you'll deal the same amount of damage as one with 75% stealth attack. On second thought, it could be bugged because there are other rolls that are bugged as well. I.e. Melee / Ranged resolve gains. On third thought, I think Ult is better than Oni. I can't be too sure because I don't have 2 oni rolls to test. But either Ult or Oni or anything else will do, since getting more stealth attack beyond 50% is pointless and a waste of roll at this point anyway
You can definitely make tweaks for raid 3, specifically. Heck, I'd probably run perfect parry window and counter damage. This build is meant for the entire raid as a whole (all 3 chapters) along with nightmare survival/story. But yes, if you want to specialize in raid 3, specifically, you'd run something else since there aren't nearly as many standard enemies and it's mostly about the boss
GaroShadowscale I was thinking this myself, specifically for chapter 3. But can I ask, does Melee Damage also boost the damage of your perfect parries and perfect dodges, or is that exclusively under Counter Damage? Not sure if you know.
GaroShadowscale well I tested it out today lol. Used a 20% Counter Damage katana against a mid tier mob on gold survival. Then switched to a +11.2% Melee Damage katana and did a perfect parry against the same mob. The difference in damage was really really negligible. Think the more generic choice is the best choice.

BRO! Thank you for proving to me that this is THE build. I have been putting this one together for the last week, think i finally have it
now the differences are that i went with base 30% extra assassin damage skill and I pushed for Cooldown reduction on kill up to 8 seconds(can get max of 10 seconds). I also was not able to get more than roughly 70% stealth attack damage. I am almost always in stealth. Do you find the cooldown reduction percentage better?
Being able to stealth more frequently is definitely nice! I just wanted to be able to reliably 1-shot pesky targets like crow demons and oni archers. I'm glad you found something that works for you though

This is a great Assassin build. Ronin is pretty much the only character that brings support to the group in this game until you have assassin priority targeting. This build helps a group tremendously. I've gotten nice rolls as well, 4.0 seconds reduced cd on kill on my spirit Kunai as well as 3.8 seconds on my smoke bomb. Working on the Assassin charm now, so far no luck on my rolls with it haha

Man honor is always at a low. I'm still trying to roll the ronin charm. It always screws me! Good vid man, not what I would have chosen, so its opened my mind a little. My main pain with the super assassination is I never look at my resolve. So I go to hit triangle and I just heavy hit instead ! Really frustrating
Yes! I make that mistake sometimes too. Sometimes I also expect a super assassinate is needed when in reality a regular assassination is enough so I accidentally do a heavy attack. Definitely something that can improve with practice, but I know your pain

Yeah honestly I feel like 'sin could be stronger. While he does pick off individual annoying targets better than anyone else, overall I'd say he underperforms compared to other classes. Hunter is definitely very strong, especially with stone skipping bow

But Hysteria is fantastic if you let it work.
The issue with it is people don't realize when you have them hallucinating, there is no reason to be close to them.
Use it outside of defense areas and get away from them. All it does is help. They kill enemies and also keep them from occupying the circle. The noobs who attack them deserve their aggression lol
It can stall groups of enemies, yes, but I see it as an unnecessary delay. At least in the endgame, we're grinding nightmare to clear it quickly. When I duo with my friend, we can easily and consistently clear nightmare matches with 2 other randoms without having to stall enemies.
The other issue is that you can't turn off hysteria mid-match. So you can't do any assassinations on point without causing hysteria to all surrounding enemies.
But yes, what you mentioned is the best possible use of hysteria. I just don't see it as worth it from my experience

I run a similar build using your advice but with hysteria and two legendary items. I find hysteria lets me hold down a location on my own while the mongrels fight themselves and I pick off easy targets. If a hysteria target tries to go for you then don't be afraid to destroy them. Once all easy targets are finished with the help of spirit kunai, I rip through oni with super assassinations and help of others if they aren't busy. Maybe not as efficient as extra vanishes but it's the only legend I think you can comfortably stack legendary katana in nightmares and still utilise his strengths.

I've been doing well on nightmare running basically this build, only difference is that I use munitions trait on my smoke bomb and a bomb pack instead of blowgun (I weave in bomb throws in combat to keep enemies staggered, and bombs fill resolve fast when enemies are clustered)
That's fair! Bombs are definitely better than the blowgun in that regard. You just have to give up assassination damage for it

I’m addicted to hysteria. Run in, drop two enemies and the entire wave is fighting each other. Insane. Worth way more than the one extra vanish assassinate from second chain vanish, and a lot of the time there are enemies that just aren’t noticing you b/c now they’re fighting themselves. Understand you don’t like it but i don’t find it hard to play around. Also makes it easy to hold a point on your own at any wave

That's just the issue I have with it though. If it's a bunch of those mace-wielding oni that do the AoE circle burst on the ground or the fire gun brutes or the spear/shield oni that spew the AoE fire fragments, it causes them to be much more aggressive since they have many more targets, which can result in a lot more AoEs on point, which makes them less predictable and makes it harder for me and my allies to get in and do damage. However, when it's mostly the regular mongol enemies, hysteria definitely makes them more vulnerable! It's just that this build is intended for nightmare/raid, so there are a considerable amount of oni enemies (depending on what part of the raid you're doing). I think hysteria is ok off-point, but on point it's caused me more harm than good. There's a limit to how many enemies can attack an individual target (like you) at once. That's why you can run into a point surrounded by 20 enemies and only 1 or 2 can attack you at a time. And if an archer is about to shoot you, the enemies become more passive in that moment. To each their own though! I'm happy to hear it works for you

Nope! It's always active. If you hold R2 while going through the list of modifications, you can see the descriptions on each of them. For stealth attack damage, it says "Increases damage of stealth attacks". It's the same description for all three gear items

What about running assassins charm with 24% stealth attack 1st slot, then 19.7% stagger damage in slot 2? Then of course chain vanish. Stagger damage is only a slot 2 roll & I feel that may be more beneficial on my roll considering CDR on kill can only lower ghost weapons by 1-2 seconds? That or 2nd slot roll with ability cool down reduction?
I'm gonna be honest with you. I haven't played this game or thought about this stuff in a while now, so I can't really give you a good answer on that. But if you feel it works better for you, best of luck!
I run 40% damage increase as your spirit kunai does -15 seconds. And legendary smoke bomb for heals.
I stack damage increase on my ronin since he specializes in ghost weapon damage. But for my assassin and samurai, it's just about getting the kill finish with the kunai so I get the CD reduction. To each their own though! Also the legendary smoke bomb is nice for a bit of sustain! You'd have to give up a bit of dps to fit it into the build, but it's a nice way to get a bit of healing from time to time
Good build. But I think hallucination dart and status effect length for longer hallucination is better. You are not supposed to be using using hallucinations when the enemy is up close on you but on the bright oni when the horde spawn.

I understand that this is for survival, though i see you added raid in the title. I would like to clarify to beat the final chapter the fastest, you're gonna have to focus on stagger damage. If you get everything close to max, then you can 1 shot her stagger meter (If masuke's sword procs) Otherwise it takes 2 hits to stagger her. Youre gonna need to run masuke's sword, Enjos remorse, bombpack, caltrops and kunai with stagger damage mainly and the rest should be staggered damage or melee damage. But yeah this build is only for the Raid chapter 3, while yours is mainly for the other aspects of the game. Though mine is usefull to get the honor you need, or items.
Yeah this build is meant to be more general for the raid as a whole as well as nightmare survival. If I wanted to farm the boss specifically, then yes I'd probably build for either stagger damage or probably even perfect parry window + counter damage

Was expecting a super build that would change my life, but it's already pretty much what I'm running. Guess i'll stick with it ;P Never tried spirit kunai tho
I use it on almost all my builds. The CD refresh is amazing when you get the hang of it. I don't find it as useful on Hunter unless you're spamming burn though, since Hunter isn't really as cooldown dependent as the other classes
I don't know but I think it's possible to one shot those purple guys. Your smoke bomb and your stealth charm are in charge to grant not only one time +25% stealth damage but even two times. So if I count this right and min max it of course it equals 125% extra stealth damage just from the gear. Add those 50% from staggered enemies assassination + the super assassinate which should double those 175%. So I hope it's possible to one shot purple oni with this build. But I can't make that build happen because the grinding in this game sucks. And to roll the perfect stats is to frustrating. Every day I scroll threw UA-cam if someone maybe got it. Just to let me answer those question I asked my self from the beginning of the game.

That's actually not the case. You cannot stack the same modification twice in a row on the same exact item. If you use it in one slot, it will no longer be available for use in the other

Just tested this on nightmare survival with the purple spear wielding Oni. Was running 73% stealth Damage, 10% Oni damage, toxic vanish, super strike and opportunist. I hit him with a weaken dart and then peppered him with poison darts until he staggered. The super strike got him to roughly 20% of his health. So yeah I don’t think you can one hit those purple Onis. If you can’t one hit those mobs I see no reason to spec into toxic vanish and opportunist. The build in this video is probably the better option.
I would go with 2 Legendary, smoke and kunai, u need that small heal from the smoke to remove poison, also with gain first resolve on use to do that 2x damage if u go for a difficult target first like a crow and the kunai 15 % cd, with skill can help you pop up that smoke back up really fast, cuz with smoke u kill chain like 4 enemy and u can do a second assassination even if he doesn't dies ,extremely efficient vs ONI( It has 120sec cd normally).Also effect duration is good, keeps the smoke up longer =more kills
Status effect duration effects how long smoke lasts? Are you sure? That's news to me
A heal would be nice, but you'd have to give up a chain stealth for that. It's an option if you want more sustain though. At top levels you should have a Ronin you can count on though, otherwise the match is gonna be hard to win either way

@@lorddagoth1691 there is only 1 way ,farm the last boss, it's a 7 min fight but to get tehre u neeed a decent build to pass chapter 2 atleast 1 time....i did it in 2 hours and a half with good group and all the chests.Playing dungeons it's also OK but lower drop rate.
I like shadow strike more. Its synergizes great with Masamunes edge. Im usually on top with kills. Its a mix between stealth and ultimate dmg and it works perfectly fine for me...

That's fair! Though I'd ask you, why run assassin over samurai? Samurai's ult comes out faster and they can stand their ground on point better and sustain better with their own healing. If you're not stacking enough stealth damage to 1-shot annoying targets, it's hard to see what assassin puts on the table, itself.

Hunter maybe better for mobbing, but assassine can kill big onis pretty fast, faster as Sam imo.I have a charm with chain assassination, smoke bomb and dirt throw. I use bombs to build up my ult fast. I can clear a pt on nm survival on my own until rd 18- 20, when 2 of the big purple ones are coming. Then it gets a little tricky atwhile. Sam better at this yes, bec of his self heal. But i like running the assassine with stealth and ult dmg. Works pretty good

That is definitely what hysteria is best at! Stalling the enemies before they reach the point, however, if you have a solid endgame team, then stalling enemies is unnecessary. You and your team should be killing enemies very quickly regardless, even in nightmare/raid. Plus, you can't control when your assassination hallucinate vs. when they don't. So if you assassinate an enemy on point, all nearby enemies on point are also hallucinated. That means the enemies will be more aggressive since they have more enemies to target, which means more AoE attacks and less predictability. That can making holding a point more difficult for you and your team. Chain vanish gives you more dps and survivability garoshBlep

I know hysteria can be chaotic as you said. But if you intend on holding a point on your own as an assassin, you have to run it.
This build is probably ok if you're not playing with randoms. Otherwise, you need the healing bombs and hysteria.
I will say that this build will struggle if you don't have a single ronin on your team. You'll have to play very well and avoid damage. Though tbh, at nightmare/raid difficulty level, you SHOULD have a ronin on your team. They're too good not to have. If you're going to run bombs, you're weakening your stealth attack damage and losing the weaken darts to help with some assassinations. It would probably be better to just run ronin, itself, in that case.
As for holding a point, this build heavily focuses on reducing its cooldowns as much as possible. You can go chain vanish > smoke bombs + kunai > chain vanish again and pretty much everything is already dead. Plus you're picking off most of the very dangerous/annoying targets right off the bat while chain vanished, so what remains isn't very dangerous aside from the halberd oni.
@@GaroShadowscale I'll have to try it out. Right now my assassin focuses on cool down as well with the kunai. Only difference is the bomb pack and I don't run super assassination. But it's worth a shot of I grind the honor 🤦🏽♂️
@@GaroShadowscale finally got the honor to try this out and i gotta say that I like it.
I did however adjust it a bit. First, I just had to go back to the bomb pack. The reason is that sometimes I feel like I need that resolve to super assassinate but I just don't have it! This way I can use the bombs to fill up resolve and then vanish to super assassinate. This also allows me to nuke targets that I otherwise couldn't because they were partially damaged by the bombs. Also when close to three resolve, I top myself off then ult and afterwards I use the smokebomb with sudden resolve and I get a free super assassination after the ult.

Toxic vanish is better on survival bcuz of the stagger. Raid on the other hand group vanish is better. Both techniques can be mixed and matched to suit ur style of gaming
It's pretty satisfying to stagger like 20 enemies with toxic vanish spam, ngl, but the issue is, you're only going to be able to capitalize on like 1 or 2 of those staggers before they all get their stamina back fully. And you sacrificed a considerable amount of cooldown for that. I never felt it was worth it. However, if you're never roaming solo and constantly with at least one more teammate at all times, I could maybe see the value in toxic vanish. Otherwise, I need the cooldown as low as possible, so group vanish for me

Spirit kunai refreshes my cooldowns so I can stealth much more frequently which means more DPS. If you're using that sticky bomb for more survivability, you might as well run the forbidden medicine instead. You'd lose assassination damage though

That's correct! But I had already rerolled an individual modification on that blowdart, so I no longer had the freedom to reroll the final ability on top of that. I'd have to reroll the entire item instead and lose my high Stealth attack Damage

I think you are wrong about hysteria. Problem with double stacking chain vanish is often times in nightmare you’ll have not many enemies you can assassinate thus disrupting your chain vanish. Two times is fine but three makes you a little too dependent on enemies being weaker so you can assassinate. Hysteria is wayyy better because you can single handedly hold a zone using smoke and vanish and getting cool down reduction on kill is OP because any kills that hallucinated enemies get counts towards your own kills. Hysteria is extremely powerful especially if holding a zone on your own you just have to play smart, keep a little distance, and utilize the status effects on your blowdart for maximum efficiency. Also while spirit kunai is good I use sticky bomb and mist so keep myself alive and weaken enemies. Spirit kunai is AMAZING but in a hysteria build it isn’t because you have to assassinate enemies for hallucination and killing with spirit kunai prevents that. Good luck my friend!
Yeah if hysteria is used correctly (not on the point) it is one of the best soft cc's in the game right now imo. 3 assassins using hysteria builds and myself running tronin ran through nightmare survival like it was nothing. Granted yes you do have to have to keep an eye on the enemies a little more because of the unpredictability, but the amount of damage they do to themselves is worth it.
Well that's why I stack so much stealth attack damage on this build and run super assassinate. You can 1-shot any non-oni enemy (except mongol leaders, I think). As for Oni, you can 1-shot some of them. Sometimes you might need to use a weaken dart as well. Because of this, when I am stealthed, I seek out the high-value targets (like oni archers and crow demons) and 1-shot them. If I'm surrounded by weaker enemies, then I might pop a smoke bomb to quickly farm lots of assassinations and resolve thanks to the faster assassinations perk. If it's mostly tanky oni enemies like the purple oni mace enemies, then yeah probably time to save the group vanish cooldown and focus on whittling them down and farming resolve. They're easy to fight when you figure out the small dodges needed to avoid most of their attacks. Sometimes I'll even ditch one at lower hp and work on another while waiting for my group vanish CD to return. Then when my CD is ready, I can assassinate both of them and just do a critical on the third opponent (on point ofc, to avoid hwatcha fire) As for halberd oni, I save my poison darts (and/or hallucination darts) for them to CC them a bit
Healing mist is tempting for survivability. If I couldn't count on a ronin, I'd probably sacrifice a chain vanish for the healing smoke. And good points regarding hysteria, but man I just have had bad experiences with it. The enemies get less predictable and more AoE attacks get spammed. It really annoys me, so I avoid it. GaroShadowscale the trick is to hallucinate before they get to the point that way you don’t have to deal with all the Aoe spam. They’ll kill each other before they even get to the point.
what about hallucination "hysteria charm" build on nightmare?
As I said in the video, it makes fighting on point more difficult because enemies become more unpredictable. HOWEVER, you can use it off point to keep enemies distracted with each other far away from point. But unfortunately, this effects every assassination you ever do. You can't turn it off for point fighting. So really I prefer not to use it and go with chain assassinate instead to focus the really annoying targets down
In my brain i decided to run bomb pack with + resolve gain and 2 more shadow storm uses just so i can nuke with shadow storm and wipe areas with it
That's fair! You lose assassination damage which makes it harder to 1-shot certain units at top difficulties, but it gives you sustain with forbidden medicine and more ults. Whatever works for you
I find the super assassination to be pretty useless considering it takes a whole resolve point just to do a big crit. if you can't consistantly one hit enemies anyway why use it if you basically have to do 2 crits anyway. also, if you have bomb puch. just bomb pouch em and assassinate
Because if you're stealthed and the assassination isn't fatal, you will lose your stealth. It will not refresh via chain vanish. The target must die before your assassination animation ends or you will not re-stealth. You need the super assassinate to make it easier to pick off high value targets with a 1-shot assassinate like crow demons or oni archers. Also if you throw bombs while stealthed, you will de-stealth afaik
@@GaroShadowscale the solution it''s to put Gain first rezolv on the smoke bomb, this was u use it close to your high hp target then go for the 2x damage and if he's not dead u can still do 2 more assassination skills on him until the smoke's dissipates. I usualy go for 2 Legendary's since u need heal and smoke has it. Also blow gun for 25% assassination damage ,i got it to 72,it's not capped it matters.

i think that the assassin is the most difficult class to balance correctly among the others... this is maybe the most effective build i've seen in the internet on the assassin, but still it feels very unbalanced compared to the others classes
Thank you! And yeah that's actually very true. I did my best to try to make assassin stand out from the other classes. He can pick off high value targets better than anyone else. If you try to make a build around his ultimate or around healing bombs, then you might as well play Samurai or Ronin, respectively.

Yup! And at nightmare/raid difficulty, you should definitely have a healer. Sacrificing dps in exchange for a little bit of sustain is not the route you want to go for assassin or hunter. Samurai can have strong dps and strong healing at the same time, at least, which is very fitting since he's intended to frontline and hold points. Hunter fights at range and assassin frequently hides safely in stealth and smoke bombs

Gotta disagree with you on this one personally. I run the bomb pack with 5 shadow storm and the 30% assassination boost and I can hold and clear zones without any help. Spirit kunai makes it super broken even if I can't one shot them with the super assassinate I can make then fragile enough to go down from 1-2 hits and then spam the ult to target specific problem people
That's understandable, and I'm glad that works very well for you! That playstyle is very similar to Samurai, aside from the bombs, though I do feel that Samurai could do it better. My assassin build can hold a point solo as well while also being very effective at roaming and picking off high-value targets. The reason why the assassination has to 1-shot (at least after the first or second stealth) is because if the target does not die during the assassination animation, chain vanish will not proc, wasting the extra stealths. Plus a non-fatal assassination results in a longer animation which will lead to hwatcha deaths if this occurs off point in nightmare survival. When used properly, Group stealth x3 -> smoke bomb -> Group stealth x3 can easily hold a point, plus you're immediately picking off the high value targets like crow demons and oni archers while going for assassinations, leaving only weaker enemies behind that you can easily spam down with surging strikes and finish with kunai to restore cooldowns. That being said, this build isn't the best against halberd oni, and that's when I use my poison darts (and/or hallucination darts for those running that) to stagger them long enough for me to get solid damage inflicted on them

You can one shot assassinate crow deamons on nightmare with stagger damage, no need for this build, just dart em tonstagger and assasinate with over 60% stealth attack damage from items and 30% crom critical hit techniquie
You can, but you have to give up the faster assassination for it, which means you can easily get deleted by hwatcha if you ever assassinate anything off-point in nightmare survival. If you're running the build on something that doesn't have hwatcha, then the slower assassinate is ok. You'll still do lower dps in smoke bomb situations. But yes, situationally, the 50% more assassination dmg on staggered enemies might be worth it if you don't have hwatchas to worry about

I understand this build if you run a set team but, if you run with random nah. Tech group vanish, 30% assassin, quick and quiet, 2 extra strikes. Gear water k, ultimate damage and melee. Run forbidden med legendary. Assassin charm- stealth attack and ult damage with chain Assassination. Kunai melee damage and damage increase. Smoke bomb stealth attack damage and cool down on kill. You welcome. This is a 250 kill in nightmare surviva load out while healing your self.
No thanks. This is for nightmare/raid difficulty. It's expected for there to be a proper ronin. The assassin needs to specialize in what makes them unique, otherwise they might as well play samurai. Much better sustain and direct/ult damage. If you're struggling to get a ronin on your team for nightmare, consider being the ronin yourself or at least playing samurai.

I prefer to stack Ultimate damage, and fast resolve with bombs, spirit k for cd, Hysteria and smoke, the Oni soften themselves up by killing each other, then I finish them off with Ults.

I don't really agree with the hysteria, firstly it's fun and then I find that we save a lot of time. In Nightmare Survival, there are times when you find yourself all alone defending a position with 30 enemies, not to mention those that are invisible. you cannot remain forever camouflaged and it is not the legendary kunai which will change the situation. knowing that with the assassin, we can not really regain life, we use all the characteristics to maximize the damage. so for me, hysteria is almost essential. I'm level 70 with this class, I know what I'm talking about. I think on the contrary that this characteristic is underestimated And badly used, of course, one should not jump on the onis which make aoe ! after, each his opinion, I respect the different opinions. in any case still a great video bro! good continuation.
Yeah but if the enemies aren't hysteria'd, it doesn't matter how many there are. The game mechanics only allow a very small number to target you at a time. That being said, yes, I understand where you're coming from. I've played plenty of assassin as well, and I've found hysteria causes more problems than it's worth. That being said, it's a good way to stall enemies off-point, but anytime it happens on point, it makes my battles much more difficult.
As for fun, that's subjective. I find it much more fun to do the killing myself, especially 1-shotting the targets that annoy me a lot on all my other characters. I don't enjoy sitting back and just watching the enemies gradually kill each other off, and honestly their dps against each other isn't great, but it does take pressure off of you and your allies, if that's needed.
The times when you're not in stealth/smoke_bomb, you should be targeting easy enemies to farm up resolve. Medium-difficulty enemies are what you 1-shot in stealth, and the hard ones you save for last.
As for no healing, yes, a healer is needed, but if you're on raid/nightmare, you should have a healer.

Besides, it reminds me of your video on ronin, you were very happy to be able to one shot enemies with spiritual kunai, and it really makes me laugh to see enemies tear their mouths between them. after as I said, everything is a question of point of view.

I'd say this build is very aggressive by nature due to constantly refreshing cooldowns and spamming stealth, but that's fair! Use what you enjoy
@@GaroShadowscale well compared to like a hunter build being able to mow down back at forth between ultimate and class ability with fire build. Seem like the assassin got the dead end when it comes to killing quickly in nightmare. I have best for builds for other classes that really work. But seems assassin is abit passive to coordinated attacks with mic players.

Not to trash your build but mine is way better for assassin. I'm pretty sure that stealth attack dmg scales only up to 50% from gear items because with the blowgun my dmg is pretty much the same as without it. It's much better to build around stealth attack and the assassin's ultimate, instead of the blowgun go for bombs because that gives you your ultimate back in just seconds. I finished gold survival with 350+ kills with my build.
You're saying that SAD might be bugged? Well, I didn't think to test if the game's modifications actually function as intended. If they're bugged, then that does change things. Assuming they're not though, I stand by my build. If I made a build revolving around the ultimate, I'd just run samurai instead. The Samurai ult comes out much faster. If I made a build focused on the bombs, I'd just run ronin instead. Assassin's gotta do something unique
@@GaroShadowscale It's not bugged. There's a cap for a reason. I've tested this and the OP is right, the cap is 50%.
It's better to go half Stealth / Ult. Or Stealth / Oni damage. Oni damage seems to deal more damage than staggered
@@marknadin8183 That's a bug. I fail to see any legitimate reason for that cap. If it truly does exist, then until it gets patched, that does free up a modification slot and potentially an item with it
@@GaroShadowscale I have no proof or evidence to post here. But man just test it for yourself. With just 50% stealth attack damage, you'll deal the same amount of damage as one with 75% stealth attack.
On second thought, it could be bugged because there are other rolls that are bugged as well. I.e. Melee / Ranged resolve gains.
On third thought, I think Ult is better than Oni. I can't be too sure because I don't have 2 oni rolls to test. But either Ult or Oni or anything else will do, since getting more stealth attack beyond 50% is pointless and a waste of roll at this point anyway
You need melee damage for raid 3
You can definitely make tweaks for raid 3, specifically. Heck, I'd probably run perfect parry window and counter damage. This build is meant for the entire raid as a whole (all 3 chapters) along with nightmare survival/story. But yes, if you want to specialize in raid 3, specifically, you'd run something else since there aren't nearly as many standard enemies and it's mostly about the boss
GaroShadowscale I was thinking this myself, specifically for chapter 3. But can I ask, does Melee Damage also boost the damage of your perfect parries and perfect dodges, or is that exclusively under Counter Damage? Not sure if you know.

GaroShadowscale well I tested it out today lol. Used a 20% Counter Damage katana against a mid tier mob on gold survival. Then switched to a +11.2% Melee Damage katana and did a perfect parry against the same mob. The difference in damage was really really negligible. Think the more generic choice is the best choice.
@@Modos7 Thanks for the info! There would probably also have to be a test with neither modification to fully know if there's a difference. I always rock melee damage, but I'm saying if someone wanted to specialize in Ch. 3, perfect parry window and counter damage would be understandable
