I commented on that instantly when I saw the video on the release day. Coolest drumkit ever! If Hetfield would have brought his EET FUK white ESP MX220 it would have been even better.. 🤘🏾
@@David-qk7lc I’m 22 now, these guys are about 5 years older than my parents, but they give the feeling that they are still as young as my age and I love it😭
You literally discovered Metallica when you were already a century old. It's plausible. I'm from the Bay Area and never heard of them until I passed away 38 years ago.
Too bad MTV lost its mind and doesn’t play music anymore. Would’ve loved to hear “and now the world premiere of…”. They need to change there name to SuckTV.
One of the many reasons to love Metallica: their will to let us in and see the work being developed (in the studio, tuning room, videos...) Thank you!! Appreciate it!!
I would like to see the Making Off video of this song. Maybe James started working on this song during the pandemic or whatever. So interesting to see!
I met Lars at a Meet and Greet 9 years ago. I owned the Limited White and Black Tama Kit. Only 25 were made back in 1992. I showed Lars a photo of mine and the old Tama ad which he signed. Lars and that drum kit got me into drumming back in 1993. I can't tell you how great it is to see it again with Lars behind it. My guess is Lars had them get this from storage for the video. When the tour starts he will probably go with a new Tama StarClassic Kit in a different color...probably yellow. Although, guitar players switch their guitars all the time during a show. There is no reason Lars couldn't have 2 different kits on stage and play the Black Album songs on this one.
Love the new song! Love the awesome video! Love the behind the video! Love the whole musicality, the lead, the double peds, the voice, the rhythm, the bass, everything!!!
At 4:24 you can just about see the date this was filmed (Thursday November 3rd)... Can't believe there was a full 4 weeks between then and the video releasing where nothing got leaked. Lars runs a tight ship!
@2:34 Lars is actually playing the double bass, nice. He could have easily cheesed it because of how dark the video is. Plus it’s a music video, you can just mime it.
I saw Metallica once in concert back in 1986/87, its the only heavy metal band i've seen in concert and it was loud and thrilling. My ears rang for 3 days after that. Very talented band
"how you gonna edit this bro" "with joy" I get that. I frickin love editing stuff, and I can't imagine how fun it is to edit this stuff. Great song, great video, can't wait for M72 in New Jersey next year 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
James, Lars, Rob, Kirk... it's just awesome seeing you boys have such a lot of fun doing what you do best! Thank you all for sharing these great peek behind the scenes!
I love seeing the white drum set like on the Black Album tour. The only thing that would make it even better would be the 4 toms across the top. Total throwback!
I appreciate that they’re making new music, especially since they’re a lot older now, which means we can see their new perspectives, as well as it being impressive that they can still do this. That being said, this song isn’t a favorite of mine by any stretch, but I do respect the art of songwriting, as it’s definitely not an easy task.
It's nice to that they fade the studio audio out for actual audio for bits and you can hear Lars playing the double bass parts. I think for the sake of the video, he wouldn't have to actually play the kicks, but to hear that he does is great. There are a lot of haters that doubt Lars is capable of playing the double bass on the recorded version and whether or not he can do it live and I think this shows he can. I hope they release the making of videos like they did for hardwired.
Man I love you guys so much. I’m seeing ya’ll live for the first time ever this Friday at the AWMH benefit concert. I can’t fucking wait. You guys are my life fr. Also copped tickets for the M72 tour. MetallicA for fucking ever! 🖤🔥
@@DK-eu7ie yeah it’s one of his weakest ones for sure don’t know if he was in a hurry or what lol everything else sounds great I love Kirk but he could have done better on that solo seriously

@@joeplem5329 yeah but the ones they make now are nowhere near as massive and powerful as the ones in the 80s and 90s those had some really nice shells and hardware they still make great kits tho.
I can't be the only one celebrating the return to the white and black drums like the ones used on Justice and the Black Album. They look so damn good.

same I love the purple set but this one is iconic and it looks like its the same set that he used back then
Actually if you watch some of the few live shows there are from 88 and 89 Lars’s kit was grey for the and justice for all tour.

At 2:34 you can hear Lars is still putting power into double bass. Hearing that much on a muted kit is fantastic
So you can imagine that big beast mic’d up live especially the bass drums be like literal cannons
His kick has always had so much power behind it. Im glad they can bring it out in the mix with modern sound tech
