Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 лис 2020
- I will show how to install led sequential tail lights in a MK6 Volkswagen Golf GTI. I will show in detail how to remove the trunk hatch panels, and how to run the wires from the light on the body to the lights on the trunk hatch. This should be applicable to the GTI's from 2010-2014.

Thank you so much you really help me out :D
FYI.......If you flip the brown and white wire on the left(driver side) hatch light you will get proper duel white reverse lights.
@The Truth if you flip the wires it's a fog light delete.
Do you flip the wires on the tail light assembly connector? Or the body connector?
@@leonardoarispe4689 tail light assembly connector.
So glad to read this! I was giving this mod a second thought because I like all the illumination I get from two reverse lights when using my backup camera.

How are the fitting on them lights? Do they fit good without any movements? I ordered a pair and the clips weren’t going in properly and had a lot of movement
Amazing work
Respect 👍🏽
Sound out man 👍
Amazing video! I just had an issue with my clips as a few of them were still stuck in the car when I took the trims out. Was wondering how you removed the few that you had stuck in your video
Thanks! Yea, I used a needle nose pliers to remove them.
Nice job!
Thank you!
They look amazing
Thanks!
My tailights have resistors but the car already has some, you I add them anyways or cut them off?
Can you please do the front headlights that go along with these?
Very nice man, this is the first tutorial that really works , i made this mod last week and i needed to get down all plastics in trunk but now i see i could just loose this up one and feed the wire like you... but fuck off :))) i already have make it , very well done bro !!!!!
Thanks for watching! Yes, this is a tedious project. That's why I made the effort to show the details. The trunk panels can be intimidating to remove.
Great video good job
Much respect! Thanks for watching.
Which lights are these? How’s the quality?
Does anyone know what that cable is called that you have to connect the two sides of the tail light together?
This took me like 6 hours, but did it, thanks m8 😆
Much respect, I'm happy you got it done 👍🏽
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds have you had any problems with the lights, since you know…they’re Chinese? It’s my only concern
@@davidthedrummerengineer nah, they still work without issues so far.
Your tutorial is absolutely first class, please correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe the VELAND LIGHT fitment is not as good as it should be. But thanks again for the great tutorial.
Much respect! The fitment is good enough, it's not as snug as oem.
Best Video i See i love u
Hello! Does anybody thinks that the difference between normal lights and brake lights are too subtle and the driver behind you can’t see that you actualy breaking? In my opinion the difference is to small. What do you guys think? Thank you
I’ll def break something lol great job boss !
Respect! Just take your time, lol
Best tutorial
Much respect!
Hi I followed everything
But my inner tail lights aren’t turning on
Any help
Thank you
Very well done. I’ll have a go at this. How long did it take you?. I’ll add at least another hour or 2 on to that. Lol. Many thanks. P
Took me around two and a half hours, but that's because I was recording. You should be good to go, lol
im gonna install mines tomorrow tkx thumbs up
Good luck with the install 👍🏽
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds installed it just nikked the watertube of the rear window so that i have to replace also to get the plastic cover of was a drama but i got it in the end!
Do you have a problem with the reverse light one been white, the other one been red?
This the same install process on a 2010 MK 6 TDI yes?
Hey man, wondering which specific taillight option you got. smoked, red-smoked or red clear (no smoke)? Thanks
I got the red-smoked.
I can't wait to upgrade my MK6 light to those baby's
Yea, definitely worth to upgrade.
I have MK6 GTI installing these tail lights tomorrow, I know these cars electrical systems are super sensitive, I just had to pay someone to redo alot of it. Should I disconnect the battery first before unplugging and plugging the tail light back in?
Yea, you can disconnect the battery as a safety precaution.
Bei mir geht das äußere Licht nicht, Bremse und Blinker geht aber. Was kann das sein?
Whats the drill called your using bro ??
Any tips for installing the big hatch panel back on?
Start installing from the part that's closest to the hinges on the hatch, then work your way out. Make sure to align the clips before you apply pressure to pop them in.
thank you!!
Respect!
Awesome! Did really not a single one of your clips break during the process? :D
Nah, no clips got broken.
thank you friend
but you really fast, i took whole morning. cause for me really hard to get wire trgough rubber. itak off black connecter from wire and put soap on, then its more easy
How long did this all take?
I have a question, if the clips stay decide to stay in the car instead of in the plastic of the door panels how do you take the clips out? With a plyer?
I showed how to remove the clips that got stuck in the video.
Did you have issues of 1 or both big parts of the light not sitting flush flat? I have that issue with 1 of em
Nah, it wasn't as snug as the OEM, but it was still a decent fit.
best tutotrial so far for these lights
Respect and thanks for watching!
Someone pls tell me where to buy these taillights 😫
I installed the exact same lights by following this video but my reverse light is red for some reason? Any ideas on how to make it white? Does it make a difference I’m in the UK so the steering wheel is on the right hand side
That's how these lights come with one reverse light white and the other red. You can check to see in the video, when I showcase my lights, one is red. However, someone in the comment section had mentioned about switching one of the pins to make both lights white.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds basically my issue was I was getting only one red reverse light and no other light as in no white light on the other side, just the solo red reverse light. However I have since swapped the white and brown wires and it’s now white! Thanks for your help :)
Ok, cool. No prob.
Nice one👍🏽
Thank you!
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds well i did this yesterday it came out very nice thankyou! Although i live in germany, and the lights are switched when i put it in reverse mode the fog light is on and fog light is Reverse. Do you know how to fix this? I am waiting for the seller to respond to
Oh, cool. You can try flipping the brown and white wire, on the driver side trunk light and it should fix it.
My reversing light and fog light are mixed up tried switching wires but no difference. Has anyone experienced this and know what I can do?
Did you manage to find out what to do?
Great video
So just t25,t20,10mm socket and 8mm socket is that all I need ?
Thanks! I listed the tools in the description.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds thanks for the reply
Do I need a trim kit?
Is it essential
Thanks
Have a "check rear left brake light error" on mine, but all lights are functioning... any help would be nice.
Thank you for a well put together tutorial
Only thing I could think of, is the converter for that side might be faulty. Otherwise, thanks for watching.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Good news, replacement set came in the mail. No error codes! Thanks again for the tutorial.
@@totalxq I'm happy you got it resolved 👍🏽
I have a standard Golf mark 6 TSI - will I still be able to fit these lights to it
Yes, they will fit.
Bro what is the thing you have to stick with the M3 strips? It gets ho, why is that?
What if you already have factory LEDs but you just want the dynamic indicators? Is it still a straight swap or is there some coding or extra steps etc?
You will need to replace the entire taillights, if you want dynamic indicators. The dynamic feature is built into the taillights.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds I know this I meant if I change the entire unit I was told there would be some issues as these are designed to replace standard tail lights. I already have factory LEDs and the wiring is different.
@@AlmostLastJedi Okay, I see. Maybe someone who have done that same swap could chip in. I've only done the swap on the standard lights.
Thanks for the video, how are these tail lights works now after 3 years, everything is alright ?
Yea, they still work. No issues so far.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Thanks.
I done this today but I left the wire outside the grommet should I not be doing that? I saw it on the vland video and thought it would be fine but watching your video I'm afraid I will destroy the wire
Haha I did this too. Really struggled trying to get it in for a couple hours and left it out.
How many canbus used sir?
I saw you bought them on amazon but are all 4 pices included?
Yes, everything is included.
Thr screw on my right side taillight is completely stuck.....
Why does the black box with the m3 strips gets hot? And is it dangerous?
It's a resistor, it's normal.
Looks awesome! Can you do mine for me?
Did you install the reverse camera too or was that stock, also what year is your mk6
Nah, there's no reverse camera. It's a 2010.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds thanks for responding. Is it just the latch then where the badge is
I did everything, but only my parking light is on, they don't go on at the same time. The outer one's only work when I brake. Please how can I get them both running like that without stepping on brake first?
If you've installed the same exact lights as these, and you followed all the steps I showed in the video, it should be working fine. Otherwise you might have a faulty light.
The lights are the same. Not faulty.... Just seems like I've missed a step where I connect them together so they work simultaneously, at the same time. So I don't know how to get them together, what I've missed connecting them on the same line. It's like they running separately not on the same line.
Hi, where can the tail lights be purchased from?
Check the link in the description.
Does your boot leak after this when it rains ?
Nah, no leak
I don't understand how you got the head of the wire through the rubber, in every other video, they had te cut the wire and reattach it.
It's challenging but possible, I showed the technique that I used in the video.
Did you have a problem with the controls on the meter or not?
What meter? I'm not sure what you mean.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Blown bulb indicator light on the screen.
