    //FAQs??
    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
    This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
    Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

    I was taught method #2 by my Aunt. She always referred to it as the "knitter's slip knot", since that's where she learned it. She does both knitting and crocheting.

    I learned from a woman who was trained in Germany and have always done type # 2. I basically just twist the yarn around the hook and pull through ... similar to your # 2.
    💛☮️💚. I had never seen 1 or 3 done before until I started watching crochet videos!!!

      @donacatanguma, thank you! Many years ago I was taught by my grandmother (who was not German), and it sounds like you start the same way I do: simply hold the working yarn in your left hand (if you're right-handed) as usual, insert the hook and twist it 'round counterclockwise, then yarn over and pull through. Super quick and easy, not as convoluted as these modern slip-knot techniques, IMHO. 😊

    Fun video! I know how you make yours from watching your videos but never saw the second method before. It amazes me just how many ways there are to make a slip knot! I change my method up every once in a while for variety! Thanks for sharing!

    Very useful and interesting video. I actually use method 3. A bit clumsy I assumed but it works ok. Instead of putting the yarn on the table I hold in my hand and thread through as shown in the video. I may well try the other methods now thank you :)

    Can you just tie a knot on your hook or must it be a slip knot.

      You have to make a slipknot, otherwise you risk all of your work coming undone 😊

      Just remember that crochet is practice and patience, if you find yourself getting frustrated put it down and walk away for a few hours or even try again the next day. Keep giving it a go and it will get easier. Good luck :)
