    Dr. Jon
I’ve been doing the vestibular exercises with you for going on three weeks. My dizziness is improving. My balance is improving. I can almost walk down the hallway with my thumb in my face and not get dizzy.
And today I fix a low ceiling vent and climbed up on a chair & everything! that’s big deal. Thank you .
I would like to say one more thing. You being there demonstrating the exercises with us is a huge deal and helps immensely your support your demonstration taking the time and energy. That’s why it works for me.

I found your channel in November and started doing these exercises ten at a time for 10-14 days and then rotate in one or two new ones. Wet years here in the desert combined with wind create heavy pollen seasons. I was also having increased pain in my hip and my vision had changed so I had the "trinity" of issues that lead to severe stability and balance issues. I'd known about the Epley maneuver but these exercises are life-changing! They are presented in a such a simple to follow format and have given me my active life back.

Doctor Saunders, thank you for that advice at the end of this video. About having good days and bad days. It’s so easy to get frustrated or scared about what if’s when you have had a really bad day. That gave me hope that this will pass with time and it’s not just going to go away overnight. It’s hard to accept that all of a sudden I can’t go for my long therapeutic walks like I used to before this vertigo set in on me. And with your channels help I can get through this issue. Thanks again for posting the videos.

Thank you so much for these exercises! I have been feeling quite "off" for a few weeks post vertigo. The exercises I thought was the most challenging were the gaze exercises. I always felt that something was wrong with my eye movements (have a lot of eye fatigue when using the computer or cell phone), but I never thought it was a vestibular problem.

Thank you for this video. I have been having issues for 3 months. I believe I had IEDCS after SCUBA diving last October. About 45 minutes after my dive I had a severe case of vertigo that lasted for more than a week. Once I was able to function again I was still lightheaded and would get dizzy very easily. Recovery has been very slow and I was beginning to believe it would never improve any further. That was until I started doing these excelsis daily. It's been 10 days and the tinnitus is almost gone and the dizziness and head fog has definitely decreased. My balance is improving daily. Again thank you for this.

Thank you; I will try these exercises. I've been to an ENT specialist and an Audiologist. My hearing was normal and the ENT Specialist couldn't find anything. A CT and MRI scan of my brain was normal and blood chemistry was normal. I've experienced Vertigo in the past. I also take the Beta Blocker Metoprolol after having a heart attack 4 years ago. I've been experiencing walking off balance and dizziness for some time. The ENT Specialist at Kaiser Permanente recommended Vestibular Physical Therapy. It's Saturday night and I am going to try the beginner Vestibular exercises in a chair. I printed the 20 exercises and I will try to do them everyday.

I had the same experience, a vertigo episode closely followed by vestibular issues. You are the first blogger to acknowledge the reality of what happened to me. The professional medical community lacks when diagnosing causes of vestibular issues. I saw two PT's simultaneously. Both leading to similar sets of exercises. Strangely, your excercises should be pattened as standardized protocols. The two PT's I saw adapted techniques to their personalities, one with a spiritual counseling approach (acceptance and self love) the other with a yellow sticky pad (targets) approach. Your video makes infinite sense. I would report a 15% reduction in dizziness from the sticky pad eye movement approach, 10% reduction in dizziness from the counseling approach. But I'll bet making your exercises routine could finish the job. Also, found it's easy to go backwards, when not continuing the exercises (flu episode). Best of luck to your continued success and Kudos to this Doc!

Your exercises and exceptional presentation should be patented as the gold standard. After contracting vestibular issues after a vertigo episode, I was seeing two PT's with vastly different personally stylized approaches leading to similar but scaled sets of exercises. One promoted "Tapping" techniques and Vagas nerve breating exercises, which were very helpful with the anxiety-unsettled piece. She presented lots of tricks, like wearing a baseball cap at Wallmart to prevent from becoming overwhelmed by an expansively illuminated space. We determined that my ankle tendenitis and eustacian tube issues were also contributing. Meaning, a number of tiny causes were contributing to my uneasy experiende. The other PT impatiently went immeadiately to yellow sticky pad eye movement targets, complaining he didn't spend much time on emotional considerations. They were both slowly leading up to similar walking exercises, but my progress was delayed with foot and knee injuries and the flu. Too much beating around the bush from other UA-cam presenters. Love your direct approach and exemplary presentation!!! I'll report back in several weeks after grooving your Tool arsenal. I know from the little success I've had up until now - they will work!

I was doing vestibular exercises to see if it would help me but one day my eyes were soo sore from doing the exercises so i stopped. I really need to start doing some again my symptoms seem to be getting bad again, I feel like a bobble head when walking, disequilibrium, light headed etc .... these symptoms happened to me 7 years ago as well and a physio said it was vestibular loss in one ear... and slowly it started to go away,,, so not sure whats actually causing it , but i also have severe neck pain, shoulder tightness, jaw pain, ringing in ear etc

Have your health care provider check your neck and when doing vestibular rehab, you need to work to your tolerance only and it may be a slow process...best of luck.

Your symptoms sound similar to mine, I have lost 50% vestibular function in one of my ears and suffering dizziness, lightheadedness, head/brain fog, severe fatigue, tinnitus, ear pain, facial pain and pressure, you name it, it's been my 24/7 constant for 5 years.
But for a time it seemed like it was getting easier to manage, but now it's coming back full force.
I'm just curious if you've found any relief after doing these exercises? I did physical therapy that helped my symptoms only temporarily. I guess these exercises are going to have to be a daily/weekly thing for the long hall to keep our brains in check. Idk

Q please. With some of rotation sets I get double vision to one side trying to focus on a finger. It isn’t alarming, or dizzy making but believe it’s ok to carry on; trying to focus in that direction; is this right? I have a prism (weakest strength) in my glasses (on the right lens) but have the glasses off for the exercises. Can you let me know? I’m up to date with the optician, this prism is a recently diagnosed condition, connected to having vertigo. The vertigo has stopped by having a prism fitted.

Hi Dr. Jon, Thanks so much for the helpful video. I have been struggling with PPPD for 8 months now. Although it is much better than when it started (through the help of physical therapy), I continue to get flare ups of non-vertigo dizziness specifically triggered by looking at fast and awkward moving images on my iphone and desktop computer. This has become increasingly frustrating as I need to use the computer most of the day for my job and I feel like it is preventing me from overcoming PPPD.Are there any exercises in your video that you would especially recommend for overcoming dizziness related to screen time?

Hello Dr Saunders - this video is very helpful. I just wondered on average, for how many days do you need to do these exercises until balance is restored? I am female, 43 with a 4 year old and a 9 month old and otherwise very fit and healthy. I have BPPV, and it came on out of the blue. I have since done the Apely manouvre using a device called the 'Dizzy-Fix' The spinning has gone, however there is now the issue of feeling 'off balance'. I have done the exercises from your pdf download and already I have felt a difference. Knowing how much longer this will take will help me, its already been 5 long weeks. Very many thanks! :-)

I am a vet and have dizziness, especially when I lay flat on my back or rotate my neck. It's flat on my back or froward like in Yoga's child's pose that really sets me spinning sometimes. I thought I had positional vertigo, so I went to VA and had inner ear tests done and they said nothing was wrong with my inner ear, and they recommended physical therapy. I am hoping this helps. I just completed the neck exercises which than said to do this on top of that. I must say, after one session of the neck exercises the painful tightness on the right side of my neck has subsided as well as the head fog. Hoping this video helps as well.
