Gosh Will, I am impressed & surprised how these eye exercises taught me something I never thought of to get my balance back again so that I can walk again. I'm 72, I got a blood infection in my foot from a big cut even though I cleaned it fairly soon. I am very close to walking on my own again. I thank my wife, my good doctors & you to have put me on my way. Thanks very, very much!

I have a brain injury in February and as well as my brain bleed, head fractures, Hearing loss my left inner ear was damaged affecting my vestibular function. Reassuring to see the exercises by my therapist are similar to those you demonstrate here. The walking with head turn is one that I am struggling to master but my commitment will get there. Thanks also for your core exercises which I have used as part of my rehab and has helped during my learning to walk. You are a positive help for me and I thank you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brain injury - it's always good to receive a second opinion which matches the first, so that you feel confident in the exercises you're performing. Consistency is key, absolutely! I'm wishing you all the very best in your recovery journey!

Thanks for your reply. You are right about consistency. It’s a daily ritual for me and from walking using a frame in March to walking with a stick only for the odd wobble and climbing stairs is down to commitment. I’m way ahead of schedule so your instructions give me confidence. Thanks

Oh yes I did those exercises years ago in the eighties when my eyes were strained from using computer. I squeeze my nose and blow until my ears pop and it takes away my tinnitus temporarily and also helps on aeroplanes. You and an American lady physio are two of my physio earth angels! Thank you and thank God I found you both on you tube!🙏

Hello Will, thank you for this video. I have 3 questions: 1)I've had cataract surgery and 1 lense is for distance, the other for reading. Can these exercises still apply? and 2) in the second exercise is this why, in some spots, I go blank and can't keep the focus on the moving finger? Last question is about the benefits of walking backward. Do you recommend it in this context? Thank you for your valuable time and your absolutely wonderful 3 tip Friday videos on top of all the others. They're a gem!

A good range of useful exercises. It’s interesting that you mentioned the link between eyesight and the sense of balance. There are situations in which it’s best to ignore the ears input altogether, and rely on sight alone - sometimes only using external instruments in an aircraft, e.g. Just occasionally, our sense of balance can be wrong altogether, with the absence of optical input, like in cloud or in the dark.

My husband was rear ended by a SUV when he was stopped at a red light. The SUV hit him so hard it pushed his car into the vehicle in front of him. This was in October 2023. He had all the “traditional” concussion symptoms, he went to the concussion clinic, massage and a chiropractor who specializes in the head.
His symptoms seemed to get somewhat better after a few months, but the symptoms all came back two months ago and here we are today wondering, besides time, what can he do to counteract his symptoms; light and noise sensitivity, high pitched ringing in his ears constantly which also spikes at time, getting dizzy and nauseous that comes and goes in intensity. He is 53.
We were told just today by an ENT that he should go to a physiotherapist, so we were wondering what exercises you would suggest. Thank you.

I'm a little concerned, or should at least raise a point here, after suffering from dizziness in the past, I tried the exercise as demonstrated just after 4 mins in here, and it resulted in me getting quite a bad eye floater that has now taken many years for my brain to get used to and block out. Floaters aren't such a problem with younger people, or at least with me. But when I did a similar eye focus stretch exercise just before I turned 50, I got this problem (now 56). So, just a precaution!

Please suggest some exercises. My tailbone pains a lot while I walk. Difficult to move through narrow space because of tailbone. Thanks 🙏

Fabulous, but I’ve just had Achilles Tendon Surgery, so I can only do the sitting actives. My balance has been compromised for a long time. I’m an extremely active and still working senior, so it baffles me about this balance issue. I do have inner ear issues. I guess that’s a big contributor.

Should you do these exercises with glasses on? With the first couple I get to a point where the edge of my glasses block my vision and then when I go further and am looking beyond the edge of the glasses my finger is blurry.

How much of your neck contributes to these balance issues with the ear? I can't get a straight answer. I have degenerative disc disease in my neck from c-3-7 and saw 3 neurologists all said no surgery but no answers for the balance issues. when my neck is tight I notice my balance is off and my ear seems clogged. I have been dealing with this for over a year now and still no answers.
