Ex-Sufferer here, i did get cured so here's some advice for you guys :
-Get yourself a good osteopath, they are very familiar with it and have a whole body approach. As sometime even a tight psoas can end up doing some cervical damage.
-Yoga ( yes yoga ) twice a day everyday, just do it whole body
-Walk a lot, everyday go for either a big walk or several and while you do so look straight ahead, no PHONE.
-Throw you phone away, just don't look at it anymore.
-Take a break every 30-45 min from the computer, move, strech whatever
-Physical activity ( swim, run, i don't care, just move your body ) 2-3 times a week
-Calm down, anxiety just makes it worst
-Heat is your best friend, get an electric heat pad and use it on you trapezius / neck
Once you actually find you routine progress is VERY fast, your body wants it as much as you
No kidding within a month you'll feel better and within 3 its like nothing ever happened. Just remember muscle memory works both way so don't fuck up in the future.
You definitely need to find a provider, like a chiropractor, who has successfully helped people as there are many tissues in the cervical spine and related areas that may cause cervical vertigo that need to be addressed...some good advice in this comment...this may help as well: ua-cam.com/video/gk4qY2sXFOg/v-deo.html
Hi Thomas, how long did you take to heal ?

I've been lifting for years... and been dealing with cervical vertigo for about 5 months now, I tried the first exercise and bearly able to hold it for 15-20 seconds😅 been to multiple therapies and Doctors, no one showed me these exercices, only stretches... thanks alot Doc !!
You got this!
Thank you Doc! Been suffering daily dizziness (and the accompanying anxiety) for 6 months now and after performing a few of the exercises you demonstrated it would appear that I am cured. You’re doing a great service to the public (especially those without the time or patience for dismissive doctors), thanks again.
Great! Keep at it!

This video is a GODSEND Dr.!! I was having so much pain in my back and traps and I thought it was a back problem. I noticed my neck was cracking when I turned it and did the neck flexor exercise. I could only hold it for 10 seconds without pain. I've been practicing for a week now and I can hold my neck for 60 seconds and I am totally pain free!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! I was miserable prior to this video!
You're very welcome!
I’ve been in and out of the hospital cause I felt dizzy and unbalanced and you literally saved me

The dizziness has been causing me to have panic attacks. I thought I was having heart issues until I went to the ER last night, lol.

I've been suffering from lightheadedness/ dizziness, nausea, neck pains, etc. 24/7 for almost 5 years now. I've had many different tests, medications and doctors look at me. Unfortunately, I'm with Kaiser Permanente and if they can't medicate or solve the problem quickly they dismiss you. I even had a ENT say that dizziness doesn't come from ear problems it comes from the neck. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'm so tired and miserable. Good luck everyone. Hope you have more success than i have had.
Sorry to hear, I hope some of my videos are helpful for you.

one of best videos on vertigo because of ear, eye or cervical spine. If you do not know this then you may end up suffering for years and keep on visiting neurologists, MRI and medicines etc. Thanks you so much!.
My pleasure!
Did it work for you? I have been asked to get an MRI by my doctor
Wow! I had years of PT including vestibular PT and vision therapy, all of which helped a bit, but no one had me do these cervical neck exercises. Very helpful!! The rotation with resistance immediately helped when turning right and then brought symptoms when turning left-that is the issue for sure. I’m so grateful to you for posting and I will keep doing all the exercises. A million thank yous @Dr. Jon Saunders!

I feel like I have this and bppv, I’ll know more once I see the ENT and Neurologist. Meanwhile I’ll try this because the massages I see on other videos seem to help but are not good enough. Thanks
The back of my head from the base of the skull and up is so tender it feels like it is tight sometimes it stings when I massage it, also my jaw and face feels tense. Could this also be a cause? My chiropractor always has to adjust my jaw and the base of my skull, for the most part it helps but the dizziness is still there.
@@wendyvillasenor8671 If you have upper neck tenderness, your chiropractor should definitely be able to asses to see if some of your dizziness is coming from your neck. Also make sure you are adding in the VOR exercises that should help. Good luck!
God Bless You Doctor.

Thank you very much for your generous help!
You're welcome!
I’ve been struggling since 2014. I work a desk job and have been for over 20 years. All doctors point to anxiety but my chiropractor dx me with cervicogenic dizziness. PT who specializes in neurological disorders also said the same thing. I’m so happy to see more attention and information on this bc Physcians look at you like you’re crazy. Thanks to the pandemic I haven’t been to a chiropractor in a while so the vertigo is back and progressively getting worse. I will def implement these exercises to see if it will help. Thank you for posting
Yes many health care providers either ignore it, or don't know much about it...best wishes.
you are so correct, many if not most physicians, like those at Mayo Clinic, MN, have no ideas what it is except tell you of vertigo or dizziness but no idea on the various potential causes. They don't seem to watch this to learn, maybe they think they are superior.
Thank you for this information praying it helps. I'd love to.come and see you after the pandemic

No problem 😊
Thank you! I'm so glad I found this. It has really really really helped with my dizziness. My dizziness comes at night and is related to anxiety and body imbalance. This has helped me immensely. Last week I couldn't even hold to 10 seconds. Every day 3 or 4 rounds and today I managed 40 seconds. Dizziness has also really reduced but I have been diagnosed with anxiety and mild sensory processing disorder for many years. When I am anxious I always get dizzy during FFF response. This has however helped immensely!!!
Thanks for sharing!
My dizziness is a combination of bad neck and anxiety
Which doctor u visited for this..i also want to visit
Hi Kay. How are you feeling/doing now? 🙏
my situation isn't vertigo. its not triggered by motion. it doesn't go away. its constant dizziness that fluctuates only in severity. the only time i don't feel dizzy is when i'm asleep. it intensifies with alcohol. one drink will make me nauseous and vomit for hours. so, i haven't had a drink in 12 years. i've had this condition since march of 2009. i've been to several doctors and emergency rooms and none of them give a damn. i've had several brain-scan MRIs scheduled but ALL OF THEM fell through for reasons i can't control. one of those reasons is my dizziness prevents me from lying still long enough for the MRI. another reason - i don't have a ride home. the medical industry comes up with excuse after excuse not to treat me.
I'M DESPERATE FOR HELP! i know i can't be the first person in medical history with these symptoms. but no doctor cares enough to even do any research! i've been suffering with this HORROR for every second of every day for 12 YEARS! i wish the hell someone would HELP ME!
Thank you for this. I had bulging neck discs from whiplash many years ago and just reinjured the same ones. These are the exercises that helped me previously with the vertigo that I had forgotten. Vertigo is extremely scary. Thank you for posting this.
Glad it helped!
Especially when it includes nausea. And flushing.
Ok
Yes. People dismiss it, yet it's one of the most frigtening things that could ever happen because you cannot even make a phone call to get help. They simply do not understand the gravity of it because it's not happening to them.

Great video! My Dr gave me these same exercises some time ago and they were very effective. He added two others, similar to the isometric lateral flexors that you shared, except those two exercises were done by applying pressure front to back (applying palm to the forehead and resisting against it and then behind the head & applying resistance against that palm (pressure going back)), instead of laterally. Thank you for sharing.🥰

God bless you. I’ve dealt with vertigo go for years, but I’ve had two very bad episodes this year alone and the Epley and half summersault have not helped. I told my husband it’s in my neck and I’m always on the verge of vertigo. You have answered my problem, I’m sure. My chiropractor had not even mentioned it could be in my neck/spine. I will get right on these exercises. Thank you so much.

I have Meniere's attacks when I drink coffee over several days. There are other triggers and most involve caffeine. Chocolate is another one. The first time it happened they took me to the hospital. Twenty years ago I had side impact whiplash. That's when the Meniere's started.
I had two horrendous episodes this year as well. Both were violent attacks. Doing these exercises and cutting out coffee has helped me a lot 👍

I used to have this problem that caused me to faint and dizzy all the time. I had an old neck injury that caused stiffness in my neck as well as inflammation in my upper back and shoulder area when it get worst, but my situation has improved thanks to these daily exercises. Positive results take at least 6 months for me to see. The most important thing is to make sure you have the correct diagnosis and to be patient and resilient.

Big thanks doc. I have come to realize the consequences of cervical and lumbar instabilities. Lightheadedness, uneven gait, TMJ, Occipital tension with tempral headaches, bouts of incontinence.., 6 surgical opinions all said no surgery unless the pain becomes unbearble. Due to the extensive facet joint arthritis throughout the spine including dextrscoliosis of 25 degrees , stemming from a fractured right femur at age of 15 (I'm 69 now), resulting in a 1 inch shorter leg which has wreaked havoc with my spine and therefore, my entire well being .your ideo and others help to deal with these conditions . Found your channel today which seemed like divine intervention 😇 Since cervicogenic dizziness is a diagnosis of exclusion, current research has shown that patients have seen an average of 4.5 healthcare providers before getting a diagnosis. In fact most family practitioners will treat the secondary symptoms, such as migraines - with limited success. It is the greatest challenge I’ve ever faced, and the most terrifying and debilitating condition. I love that your channel is all about education - most people don’t know where to go for help and its unendingly frustrating getting bounced all over the place, even for someone with extensive knowledge of anatomy and healthcare experience. Really looking forward to meeting you at your practice and doing these exercises in the meantime.
Yes you are absolutely correct...one needs to rule out all other potential causes...it is extremely frustrating for patients and is definitely a clinical challenge for health providers. Thanks for your comments. :)
