Bless Unleashed is a brand new MMORPG made in unreal engine 4 that should be releasing on Steam as a free to play game sometime in the first half of 2021, remember the dumpsterfire that was Bless Online? well that game was shut down and Bless Unleashed went in development shortly after initially touted as an Xbox One exclusive, a year or so later and here we are gearing up for the PC release... I covered the BETA of the Bless Unleashed console version about 18 months ago and absolutely HATED the combat so let's see if the devs have actually improved the game for PC

I miss the feeling of wandering around, going against higher lvl enemies and finding random shit, you know, actual good gear... Nowadays everything feels too generic, more linear, easier, or you just have to pay for anything that isn't complete shit.
I miss exploring a open world getting lost and ending up some where you really don't know where finding something and telling your guild mates about it and when thy ask where you are you have no idea every thing is so instanced based now day's now when you guild mates ask where you are you tell them in in thus shard it just takes the fun out of exploring

Honestly I would say it should be a collaborative effort between the west and the japanese considering FFXIV's business model is the classic standard along with WoW and ashes of creation. That box price + subscription with potential vanity cash shop works best.
I don't think anybody wants lolis and chibis ar playable characters, so please don't make the asians do the characters.
They can do the environment for all I care and the armors as well, but not the models.
I don't want another anime ripoff with male characters that look like stupid kpop singers in armor.

They seem to be trying to look like Black desert. I guess because it's seen as the best looking MMO. That is what a lot of people care about. Cash shops, fast gameplay, shallow experiences.
Not really, honestly. Black desert parts itself out of modern mmos, aoc will part itself out of everything too, elyon will probably be a big cash shop mmo but still it is quite different than others, bless unleashed did a whole 360 gawk gawk combo turn and actually went a bit more of a dark souls fighting type of style. So i'd say no, not really. They do try to shine out with their most "shiny and beautiful" graphics that is unreal engine. And we bdo plebs look at the super buggy and unoptimized shit engine that bdo has and it sitll looks better than 2021 mmo's xdddd
@@OrdinaryApprentice99 I played BDO a whole lot. It is shallow and the definition of repetition. It has amazing ideas and potential but it falls on it's face with the utilization of a prominent cash shop.
@@mcgruber Not anymore i'd say. If you said that to me 1-2 years ago i would've agreed with my thumbs way up. The difference to now is tho that bdo keeps and keeps to give out content such as free Cron stones, pets, outfits etc. which lowers the Cash shop variant cuz you get it either way if you just wait for events or Grind, an incoming dungeon etc etc. the game is changing to a very good path right now. (And let's be honest which mmo does that and actually listens to its community)

I've been watching you for years, and some of my favorite series you've ever done are the WoW ironman challenge & Tera journey to level cap. You should do something like those again, like a long term, sort of consistent type of content in one mmo, they provide a nice change of pace!
Yes i agree, Bless reminds me of Tera in some ways when you are fighting Bams in the open. Peon should do a journey to level cap in this game!

7:42 Treasure hunting is done really well on Elder Scrolls online through the Antiquities system. Every zone is relevant to it. You get house decorations, mythical end game gear, character cosmetics, and decent gold gain. Items also have lore descriptions for those that enjoy Elder Scrolls lore.

It's a fun mini game too. Once you've gotten the hang of it and have leveled it up, scrying for digsites and excavating them goes by pretty quick.

Hey Peon, been watching your videos for a while and love them. One thing I'd like to see in Pros/Cons is daily/weekly resetting stuff based on opportunity loss. I'm in my 30s now and at this point can't even bring myself to play a game where I'm told to do some activity and then be stopped from doing it again until tomorrow, and if I miss a few days, I don't acumulate them, I just do it once and am locked out again.

Little touches like that make me appreciate the Souls games more. They really nailed finer details like that even going back to Demon's Souls. Recently I tried Remnant and had that same issue when I realized you can't really nudge your attack direction from one attack to the next. You have to reset to neutral and then start swinging again. In the Souls games, it always feels so good when you whiff an enemy the first time, but then redirect your follow-up attack and hit them just before their attack. Or finish an enemy with one swing and then redirect your next attack to a second enemy coming up on you. We joke about how much you have to spam the roll button or hide behind a shield in the Souls game, but there's actually a lot of satisfaction to mastering the finer details of spacing and attack animations.

I spent a few days with this latest CBT, I agree the combat feels pretty good. The big question for me is whether or not there's challenging group content as you progress. I made it to around level 15 with a mage, and I did notice that the 2-man challenge 'arena dungeons' got harder; but I don't think the first 5-man instanced dungeon opens up until level 20, so I didn't see that. Depending on content I didn't experience; like you said, it may be worth playing until one of the big 2021 releases is here...

I thoroughly enjoyed treasure hunting in old school Ultima Online. Building up the Cartography skill, then hunting down the treasure and handling the spawns when you dig up the chest. Good stuff.
Just hit up the new beta, and i'm enjoying it. This is apparently the final beta no release date but in the discord they said a month or two. Looking forward to it, been a while since i've actually enjoyed an mmo so lets hope it goes well.

Two of the cons don’t seem right. You can zoom with mouse wheel and if you just use the lock on system your character will always attack in the direction of the enemy. For those who are concerned about these two. (The game isn’t that fun so far though).

they did a great improvement for the UI from the first Beta to the second one that took place a few days ago, now instead of tracking only 2 quests, you can track 3 :)

In case you haven’t been following him they’re taking out the animation locking you’ll be able to roll away in the middle of a combo and then resume the combo without having to start over they’re unlocking the skills from the blessings so you’re able to choose the skills you want in your kit instead of just pick up blessings blessings will improve your abilities but they won’t control which skills you can use
My favorite part of your channel is that you take time to check back on bad games and good games and see how they are currently. It’s very nice. For some reason Bless Online is in my Steam library. Several games there I never bought. Whatever, I don’t mind. Never played it.
I'm playing the newest beta and it appears they fixed that issue where you don't attack in the direction of the camera. Whenever I turn the camera around and attack the character turns too.

Edit: You can also track more than 2 quests and zoom with mouse wheel now. The UI is still a bit janky so it's not all 100% sunshines and rainbows but hey, it's an improvement!

Game looks great. I might give it a try for sure once it releases. I don't know if the game has some genuine FPS Problems or it's the recording, but if there are FPS problems, hopefully it gets fixed before final release. Looks sick, can't wait to try it. Doesn't look like a bad port to PC. I also really hope they allow mouse wheel scrolling for the camera.

I did participated in both CBTs of this game, and I have to say that I do fully agree with you - once they fix the outdated (a'la Vindictus) combat and the terrible UI - we might have somewhat decent MMORPG on our hands. I do hope that you'll do the 3'rd 'First Impression' of the BU once they'll implement the promised fixes.

I can honestly say I enjoyed the advantage I had using ptw and early access against noobs in open world pvp on free release and I admittedly rode that cancer train thru and can honestly say that this game is just a money grab. Most only play like me cuz we are invested in have hope but for most that has died. I can't say I currently play it. But I have about 3k hours and have spent about 8k in game purchases to support this game. I was mostly fooled by marketing and promises and lack of historical knowledge of the games history and developers history etc. I'm not upset I had fun the first two weeks till they took fair and consensual pvp away. Guild vs guild open pvp was so fun to fight for top dog grinding spots. But I do regret all money I put into it and the foolish reasoning put behind that and the endless hours of (brutally unfun) grind all to get bad rng on upgrades wasting the grind to meet a gear score that otherwise limits your ability to do content. Over time every update just is a placeholder to give them time to finish a game they shouldn't have released yet out of alpha. Steer clear

@@hip62 there are sights online that will test graphics card efficiency against a game. My guess though is it would work ok on low settings as its only an mmo. Which generally are not too graphically intense
Peon, I have to say, they have done a decent job listening to the community and implementing faster combos, longer sprinting, double dodging to make the combat decent. They said there will be a zoom option you can scroll on your mouse at launch. Glad you are giving the game a chance!

when you were out in the open world for some reason I couldn't help but feel like they took a lot of inspiration from BDO. The bloom and the colours felt very similar. perhaps thats just me though

I actually really enjoyed what little I played of bless and was sad to see it go. It’s nice to see it come back tho. I wanted to play more before the shutdown but got stuck dead till the game got pulled off.
You missed nothing crazy. Some of the invasions were cool and early pvp.
R R yea I mean it wasn’t very good but I did enjoy the story and the travelling around to beautiful places. I like more story focused mmo’s anyway.

There is a completely "built from the ground up" remake of the MMORPG called Flyff. (Fly For Fun.) The CBT just ended in the end of December, but there is another small 5 day test coming up on the 27th. The main thing about this game is the fact it's multi platform. Can be played in the Browser from basically any device you could imagine. Built with new modern code in a custom 3d Web Engine.
Devs are very active and even take in suggestions and let the community know which ones were accepted / implemented
Is it another attempt at some private server or a legit company remaking Flyff? I used to play it all those years back during v7-9 so that'd be interesting to see if it's real. I'll look it up :)

7:36 ESO now has 2 treasure hunting systems. The first being the treasure maps that you find as loot and the second being the archeology system from the last expansion. The first of which is the simplest yet most immersive treasure hunting minigame in an MMO to date (as long as you don't just look up the location on the wiki).
Two big thumbs up for "STAB- UUGGHH!"

Honestly, i played this game for awhile on xbox and i really enjoyed it, it does have quite a bit of grinding with the game but i liked the game overall.

I didn't think i would say this but, I'm quite impressed with the combat.
Very clunky and lots of input delay. Hit registration and servers aren't well enough to run 3v3 pvp properly even. In pve this translates to being hit by "ghost" hits. For a game that uses stamina and dodge it makes it falk short

Honestly looks fun. Even if I don't fully play it, its free meaning that I have zero reason to not try it. If the group content is good and the fashion part is there I will prob have a good time
I suspect the time limit and tracked quest limit is related. Like trying to encourage players to not get more than two to reduce the chance of missing time limits.
Personally, I don't see the "attack where camera moving" as necessary. I feel like that's just something that a lot of other MMO's (I think BDO for example) do. With that being said, a lot of games have the "attack where your character is facing" as well. It means you cant just mash left click and move your mouse around and have to time your attacks better.
Not that one is better than the other per se, since the fluidity of the former is nice, but I'd say it is just different playstyles.
