- Bless Unleashed is a brand new open world MMORPG made in unreal engine 4 that's currently exclusive to the xbox one, not to be confused with the soon to be shut down Bless Online on PC, Bless Unleashed follows a completely different story, features action combat with soft targeting and will have player housing upon launch, in addition the game also has a vast amount of characterr customization, 5 classes at launch, huge world bosses, dungeons and random events in the world.
This game will be a free to play MMO upon launch and in this video you'll see my first impressions of the game during the beta

That class needs to do so much more damage to warrant that sloth attack speed. And like you were showing us it looks like you’re fighting the games flawed mechanics more than anything else. I don’t have an Xbox and won’t be getting one for this pile of. Great video Craig!

you can tell they are trying to make a souls like combat system but it just needs a lot more fine tuning. im fine with a combat system that is focused more on being patient and accurate with timing, but it all falls apart when you start feeling like you were hit by attacks that should have never hit you.
My thoughts exactly. Static combat is more realistic. You cannot run around and perform martial arts techniques. It doesn't work that way. It is also impossible to change direction in mid air. I got strong dark souls vibes too. I can tell it's clunky and the game needs work. Just seems like he doesn't grasp the style of combat at all.
Seems more like Monster Hunter World to me, where you are also locked into these combos...
Drader THE PROPHET OF AIDEN yeap the approach is very good I really like more tactical than smashing buttons here and there it makes you feel you have full control.
I think they will fine tune combat when it releases
Drader THE PROPHET OF AIDEN thats what I've noticed to is the attacks i dodged never really hit me and the combat seems to be like codevein (which i believe is inspired by souls but I've never played it)
This looks ridiculously unfun to play.
It's like an eleven-year-old with zero game design skill saw Dark Souls and MMOs and thought "The world needs those two combined, so I'm going to do that with all the incompetence I can muster!".
I'm blessed because i never spent any dime in Bless!!

When do you people learn .. if the combat looks like this at beta it aint changing. Beta doesn't mean "Oh we can change everything", beta means "we have the bases ready, we now expand". There is something you need to understand about software and that thing is that it works by layers. Combat is one of the first things you start with because it defines everything (your combat and the npc's combat as well for instance). Its just not the kind of stuff you change in a beta ..
idk man, i mean is it that hard to make a proper dodge animation ? something like Dragon nest, you can do skills- dodge canceling however you want and it'll look smooth af.
Smooth the combat and make it more fluid? You mean make it more like BDO.

yeah it's free on steam and coming out in 2021 I kinda wanna see how different it is because the advert kinda looked good... I never played the original bless so I kinda wanna try it.
@@EnigmaticSpuce I played it for a bit in Xbox and I didn’t mind it, was a couple months ago so I can’t remember much except for leveling being grindy and world bosses being fun and rewarding.
I played this beta over the weekend. Having a dodge with no i-frames is ridiculous.

Have you tried ESO recently with all the new updates? I've played for years, and have become indifferent about the game but am curious how you would evaluate the game.
The combat has so much potential. If they can polish it like Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma, it would be a really good MMO
I played a ranger for like 10 hours so I had a very similar experience. You pointed out all of the things I noticed playing as well. There are also major issues with the mounting system.
The game is not terrible if it was actually a closed beta but honestly, nowadays, the concept of closed beta is used as a marketing tool to create hype and demand for the game rather than actually wanting to get player's feedback and improving.
I am pretty sure they will come up with an announcement for an open beta within a month to get people addicted to the other lifeskills and "daily quests" and on the next one, they release it as is while the bugs and problems in this game would require probably like at least 1 year of rework.
This channel keeps me from going back to or trying literally any MMO. Thanks for saving my time Peon!
This game right here is what Bless Online should have been from the start. Even with the combat being clunky i would say it is still 100% better than BO because well, you can actually play this game and BO just kind of killed itself whenever you looked at a rock the wrong way.
The game looks like a mix between Guild Wars 2 and Black Desert . I Agree with everything you said regarding Pros and Cons .

I played the game's beta, currently available, and I just watched this video and I realise the game is more polished now then it was in this video. Trust me when I say it is more polished now.

See, I don't actually mind getting animation locked in hits because it makes you think about actually using your attacks at the right time (think dark souls or Monster Hunter) but in this game it might be a little overdone? It also doesn't help you don't give the player good defensive options and so far, it seems like the roll has NO i-frames. It also matters if the enemies are fairly designed around this system of attack commitment.
That being said, I see A LOT of potential in this game's combat.

I can totally dig into some slow phased combat. You know, commiting to a combo and then going "oh, i shouldn't have been that greedy with damage". That is, if only the dodge wasn't an issue.
It looks like a game that was made to be fun to watch (in trailers perhaps?) But you can feel him fighting the controls

The combat was good and different from other MMOs, and that's totally a step further.
I'm sick of the same old combat system that i've learned 12 years ago.
This game gives you a few single-target combos, an AoE one, and a few situational skills, all from the get-go.
What i couldn't stand was the slow phasing of the game. I skipped everything and it still took me a good 15 minutes to go from Character Creation to the actual game.
This one sins of being a themepark, otherwise it's not bad.
Still, i'm def not gonna main this MMO, but it did a few things well.

Combat actually reminds A LOT of Monster hunter world which to me is one of the best combat mechanics out there. Where you need to time your attack perfectly or be interrupted.
Man it just seems like they can’t get the gameplay right whatsoever. That’s the one thing they keep failing at lmao. Everything else looks pretty great.
Not really I don't see anything good just mediocre at best. Besides combat is a huge part of an MMO if you muck that up everything else has to be beyond sub par to make up for it. This game fails at that in my opinion nor do I trust the devs after the wreck that was bless online.

Better armor rating yes, but looks like there are abilities in blue text. So situationly "better".
Nah it also has a higher defense plus it can be upgraded. The other gear only gave +2 to Regeneration and cant be upgraded.

The game literally says: Dodge rolls are broken in this build. Peon even reads it out loud, but complains afterwards as if he didn't read it... Really?
It says the camera can stutter. It says nothing about being hit inside the dodge roll even when the enemy clearly misses you.

It's not necessarily about the details though. It's about complaining about something that is broken while the bug is being openly mentioned. If you don't like it, come back when it's fixed. Don't make a video about a build with a bug that's going to influence your opinion of the game in bad way while it's still in beta. In a world where a single negative impression can make or break a game, it's kind of a big deal. Peon's review can have a potential impact to turn away hundreds if not thousands of players.That's why it irritated me. I would have taken it more leasurely if the game didn't notify him, but it did.

Really liking the fact you can play a fleshed out version of your class first, that's a great idea. Sucks in MMORPGs when you really can't get a proper feel for a character until it's higher level. I've had a few times where I've invested heavily into levelling a class only to find I wasn't enjoying how they play.
Edit: Also, I'm not sure but I think they might have improved on the combat/dodge some since last year. I'm playing the 'new' release on PS4 as berserker and the opening boss fights were nice and forgiving. The two-hander feels really nice and weighty, and the dodge roll is really responsive imo. I barely got hit in any of the dream fights by using the Dark Souls method of hithithit, roll away, circle behind and rinse repeat.
*Can't wait to get my refund of a Bless game again.*

Watching this after it came out like a year ago and WOW this game has come a very long way its much smoother and just so so much better and not all clippy and today it just got a big update hopefully he comes back and covers this game again

I'm fine with the dodging. As much as I love dark souls and many games with i frames when dodging, this makes me feel like it will be a challenge so it makes me happy
