India is a federation with unitary features. Example: 1) Indian states have autonomy. Central government will become all powerful and control states. When we got independence there was fear that India might break down into many countries. So there's a balance of unitary and federal features.

Hi Shehzad love from India. To your question on federalism in India, the answer is mixed. It is not as federalised as the US but it is also not that centralised as Pakistan. The central, state and concurrent list are specified and the respective entities exercise the functions as prescribed in the list. But still the centre is more powerful since the concurrent list puts more powers in the centre's control. Especially when very strong prime ministers like Indira Gandhi or Narendra Modi came to power the centre got more powerful. But it also have to be understood that many states in India wholly depend on the centre for funds. We do not have the system wherein the particular district or muncipality is able to largely fund itself like in the USA. In India the southern and western states in general are very prosperous and generally fight among themselves for setting up industries like offering good terms for apple or tesla etc. Thats the reason why you must ahve heard foxconn getting confused between telangana and karnataka state about where to set up the factory. But the central states especially the hindi heartland are poor and since they are not able to generate funds themselves, they depend on the centre. In some states like Punjab ,because of populist policies like free electricity etc the debt in the state budget has risen tremendously. Thus even they might need a bailout in the future from the centre. But regarding language rights you are right, we do not have a national language and although Hindi is the official language , outside northern India it is only understood in the urban areas. In all states we have to study the state language in the schools. It is compulsory and all the shops or business establishments have to put the name in the state language. For eg i live in Mumbai and i have to know Marathi language. So the federal picture is not perfect and is rather mixed
Very nice explanation. And to add one more thing, the police system is a state subject but the commanders, officers, top-cadre etc are all deputed to the state cadre by the centre. They are IPS officers. When in the state, the officers listen to the cm and the state DGP than any central authority. The states also have their own recruitment methods that are different from the central government. The same with adminstrators, revenue officers, engineering services etc.
Constitutionally india is not a federal state like the US. It is a nation with a permanent center and impermanent states. That’s why new states are often formed. Stated turn into Union territories (Jammu and Kashmir, ladakh) and Union territories turn into states and new states are originated. Nearly 10 new states were created out of old in last 30-34 years . But India avoided this fissiparous tendencies by not fueling sectarian issues further like the language as india was defined by geography rather than language (or religion). The real danger to india is loss of Hindu demography, like the territories of current Pakistan. As they lose hindu(or Indic religious ) demography, India sovereignty will be questioned and secessionist tendencies creep up like north east (which has Indic religiousity only 100 years back).
Honestly I never thought that Pakistani are open minded and accepting the fault lines , but now I realised that there are peole of Pakistan who accpting their previous mistakes. I know that I am whatching this video after while time but I will definitily gonna watch your vidoe respect from India
Great job, sir! Your videos are absolutely brilliant. I have been a dedicated viewer for the past two and a half years, and I must say that your work has improved tremendously over time. Your podcasts and latest series are incredibly informative, and there's so much to learn from them. I have one suggestion that I hope you will consider - it would be wonderful if you could incorporate both English and Urdu into your videos. This would make it much easier for some of us to understand your points without having to watch your videos multiple times. Thank you for all that you do, and keep up the fantastic work!
I was looking forward to this Shehzad bhai post you mentioned this in your talk with Muzamil. Aadab from India! Excellent explanation. Even though I knew most of it as I keep reading a lot about Pakistan. I'm still old fashioned in 'know your neighbour'. I like these discussions with you have with different people. Gives such varied views and gives us soo much knowledge. While in some cases I have my ikhtalaf on the views about my country, India, which I know is due to what you people read there, similar to most Indians on what they read about Pakistan. But on most things I have ittefaq with you. We as the young generation need to have these discussions. Do I think partition was wrong? Yes. Do I think India and Pakistan should re-integrate? Absolutely not, since the time for that has long gone. Do I wish for us being mohazzab padosi? Absolutely. Wish you the best Shehzad!
@@anjalip2616 Bohot Shukriya! Being someone who was born and brought up in Lucknow, it just naturally comes to me. It's also possibly got to do with my love for ghazals. As Shehzad had mentioned in his earlier podcast, Urdu is an Indian language 😊
Amazing work!!! Thank you so much for doing this :) ... Literally can't wait till you do an episode on the Zia Era cuz I honestly feel that no turning point in Pakistan's History was more consequential then that one, perhaps not even 1971
Good series Shehzad. Here’s some of my unsolicited advice :) : - Add some very subtle background music - Make your voice a little boomy (like nerdwriter), just try different mic settings. - Don’t leave screen blank for too long - If possible add some soundbites/footage to break the monotony. - If possible add sound effects for animation(like page turning, chalk, swoosh) - Only use high quality images, if not available just show yourself speaking( you are a good looking person 😉 ) - If your videos will be around Pakistan, then probably make some map animations and use it again and again. And as always love from India!
If you have seen vox or nerdwriter type video essays then you will find very subtle bg music. This is added to avoid “haunting” effect. You won’t be able to hear it clearly but its there. It is also used to distinguish between different chapters of video. But it must be subtle, not like cheap tv documentary. But I am ok without music too, it’s just a little unnerving.

Nice summary video yaar, love this shorter format. Also like your thinking in this video. If you will allow me, would like to suggest a few things: A. Make a video of you speaking along with images B. Some music at places perhaps C. Some outside video clips (say old news videos) Hope I am not being presumptuous, you are doing way better a job than I ever can. It is however easier to be a critic than an artist ! A key point; "Who wrote the Lahore Resolution?" Is not talked about in this video or the history books in Pakistan. I believe the reason for this is one of the most important factors which has led to the current state of Pakistan.
Nationalism is an imagined idea but any mythical idea can't create a nation there has to be a binding force, it maybe an idea on which every citizens should be agree upon. This idea may be of linguistic, cultural, geographic similarities or a code of laws satisfying the population.
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said Assabiya Nationalism Tribalism is rotten, so leave it anyone on this is not of me (Sahih Authentic Hadith) we are meant to be muslim 1st cultural 2nd
Pakistan & Norther Ireland are so similar in nature. These nations look as if independent from the outside but that is what they are meant to be, just look like an independent nation but not in reality. British colonization always functioned by partnering with few local minorities of that land. It was Muslims, Jews & the Parsis in India, and hindu Tamils in Sri Lanka, protestant Christians in the Ireland etc. So when Britishers leave, they always try to create a division in that society by creating fear among the minorities. Pakistan perfectly fits into that template. "pakistan ek azad mulk hay"

There is proverb : Sand slips away faster the tighter the squeeze of the hand holding it. This is how centre state/province relations are. India too is afflicted with too much and accelerating centralization. Case in point is GST which is creating a lot of tensions between centre and states.
Indian constitution is a combination of both unitary and federal state where more features are there for federal. Thus Indian constitution is mainly federal with some unitary features for national unity and growth.
Please it will be better if you make them in Urdu as you are trying to educate the people of this country not some britishers or Americans. This shows that we haven’t broken the shackles of slavery yet because till date we prefer an alien language than our local languages. ✌️🕊️
Its still a diplomatic take on Pakistan history. I think people still pinch themselves before considering a possibility that perhaps Jinnah himself was in the wrong. Pakistan was built on the greed of a small Muslim elite class that secured a homeland for themselves through unconstitutional means which the british colonialists were very happy to grant it to them. In my opinion Pakistan represents the horrors and scars of Colonialism and imperialism that still haunts the colonized people today. To glorify "Jinnah's Pakistan", subtly no matter, is still throwing a veil on the plight of the colonized people and the generational trauma felt by them today. And indirectly i believe it has far reaching consequences.
When u have a hammer 🔨 , every problem seems to be nail. Ps: when u read to many history books, you try to find fault in history and try to amend it.... Ink has dried.... No point scrapping it to erase it, rather write new stuff on it.

You are wrong to think that he is your champion . Accept your delusion
Today’s india is kinda ungrateful of the founding fathers. They made mistakes, some grave ones, they weren’t perfect, but no one is. Their ideals were strong and their idea of unity in diversity and embracing all cultures regardless of how different was the foundation of our country. I think Pakistan lacked that. And as he said, in obsession of creating a Pakistani identity, the early leaders of Pakistan alienated most than to include. Ironic.
Unity in diversity and tolerance where in Hindus blood Becoz Hindu aka vedic and indic faiths are like that Founding fathers have nothing to do with that If partition did not happened the attitude of majority Hindus would have been different towards muslims

AND ONE MORE THING...THESE DAYS WE ARE HEARING ABOUT WEALTH LOOTED FROM "TOSHAKANA". THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN CONVENIENTLY FORGOT THAT THE ENTIRE PAKISTAN ITSELF IS A TOSHAKANA FOR THE PEOPLE IN POWER.
Becoz of certain religion's extreme radicalization, the other religions are radicalising in the pressure to face the onslaught of this radicalised particular religion...

Shehzad bhai u never fail to impress me with ur videos whether they are podcasts, unbiased political videos or this new series keep it up
❤❤❤
Thank you so much. The plan is to get this entire series out in English then get it out in urdu too.
Very well done Shehzad. This must also be released in Urdu. That’s where it’s much needed unfortunately.
Thats the plan. Thank you
I was looking forward to this Shehzad bhai post you mentioned this in your talk with Muzamil.
Thank you❤
Archit, You know more Urdu words than me 😢😮
@@anjalip2616 Bohot Shukriya!
Literally can't wait till you do an episode on the Zia Era cuz I honestly feel that no turning point in Pakistan's History was more consequential then that one, perhaps not even 1971
❤❤❤
Beautifully made. Your passion, your intellectual acumen, and your creativity all at display here.
❤❤❤
Release it in both Urdu and English versions. It will help more ☺️.
Thank you ☺️ for this series
That's the plan. Thank you
Second this
There is time to call you Dean of Pakistan Studies in UA-cam University.😎
It's treat to watch this amazing series.
Exitied for next episodes.👍👍
This is perhaps your best work in the context of where we are as a people. Congratulations on this project ❤❤❤

Good series Shehzad. Here’s some of my unsolicited advice :) :
- Add some very subtle background music
- Make your voice a little boomy (like nerdwriter), just try different mic settings.
- Don’t leave screen blank for too long
- If possible add some soundbites/footage to break the monotony.
- If possible add sound effects for animation(like page turning, chalk, swoosh)
- Only use high quality images, if not available just show yourself speaking( you are a good looking person 😉 )
- If your videos will be around Pakistan, then probably make some map animations and use it again and again.
And as always love from India!
Great feedback. Thank youu
I don't think adding background music is a good idea.
@@ThePakistanExperience please don't add background music. That's distracting.
I think the video is perfect.
Over doing is not a good idea.
@@ThePakistanExperiencePLEASE DON'T ADD MUSIC
you r a first pakistani who shows accurate indian map. it reqired lot of guts to abandoned your country moral principle. kudos to you👌

True...
Fact of the matter is Pakistan became reality because of it's "Exclusive nature" ... No matter what ever you want to do "that character" will emerge victorious Every time. ..and that will be the reason for it's miseries.😊
Great video Shehzad, keep it up!
Thank you!
Fascinating analysis as always, Shehzad. Dismal news; but it is what it is! Sadly, much of Pakistan's history has been meddled with leaving a trail of despair.
❤
Rather than 'Idea of Pakistan' you need 'Idea of India' to save yourself.
Sir please attach links which prove that Lahore resolution was passed on 24th March and which show the amendment of 1946 for more transparency and authenticity

I coming from India do not have right to comment but we Youth of India(atleast Majority) truly wish The better of Pakistan coz after all we are same, All i wish is Pakistan gets Amazing Leaders and Spokesperson like Him. I request Youth and Intellectuals to come Forward and Save the nation, let us come out of the hate and LET BUILD BETTER FUTURE TOGETHER. ❤❤❤❤

True... A democratic Pakistan busy in development and progress will be a better neighbour to have than a military-ruled neighbour busy in 'other' activities....
We could be an Indo Union like EU in a distant future as we have strong cultural,/historical and genetic ties... Many spiritual leaders in India have envisioned this future....
An apt commentary. All this after experiencing breakup of the country.I agree we need a strong local govt, empowered to support its fundamental needs like education, health.
Brilliant video with great graphics - would love to chat someday in detail.
🙌
I am loving your channel. Thank you for the deep research and for invoking us to read and look for the real history.
Thank you ❤
Nice summary video yaar, love this shorter format. Also like your thinking in this video. If you will allow me, would like to suggest a few things:
A. Make a video of you speaking along with images
B. Some music at places perhaps
C. Some outside video clips (say old news videos)
Hope I am not being presumptuous, you are doing way better a job than I ever can. It is however easier to be a critic than an artist ! All the best and keep up the good work
Thank you. Will ask the editor to look into all this.
Finally a Pakistani UA-camr putting an apt video on *Pakistan Resolution Day* while rest of them are talking on things.
❤
It is a historic inaccuracy that MBQ was the first Muslim on the Indian subcontinent. It still exists.
Arabs traded with the West Indian coast.
A mosque in Kerala which was built half a century before belfore MBQ visit to Sind.
True
The Day the foundation for dividing secular subcontinent on the basis of religion was laid and religious was become reason for nationhood.
Hats off to you man ....keep posting this type of content...((and don't stop to throw stones at every barking dog in your way)
Thank you ❤❤❤
Also can I put in a request to do a few more series on the Pakistan economy. Your episodes with Miftah and Atif Mian were real gems, as also the episode on the economic history of Pakistan. May be call Miftah back or complete the one on the economic history of Pakistan which got cut off until the 1990s for the lack of time ?
I'll ask these people to come back on the podcast. I am not an expert on the economy so can't do many videos on it.
Bro love your content. Just one request, please up your video editing game - try minimizing black screen time. Thanks.
❤️
Good effort bhai , let’s break boundaries & cement humanity….

WOOOWWWWW, Mr. Shehzad I would really appreciate if you could do the same series in Urdu language in parallel. I want to show this to my parents!
Plan is to release the ten episodes then release them in urdu then season 2
Would love to read the the write up version of this video. I would love to re-read every single letter he has uttered in this video. Someone plz help. How can I?
Good Idea! Good Work! You should translate this video in all local language so everyone in the country can understand.
❤
A key point; "Who wrote the Lahore Resolution?" Is not talked about in this video or the history books in Pakistan. I believe the reason for this is one of the most important factors which has led to the current state of Pakistan.
Chaudhry Zafarullah
Sir Chaudhry Muhammad Zafarullah Khan.

I am surprised to see that you didn't show Kashmir in map of Pakistan(1:02).
What is reason can you elaborate?
Because Kashmir is not a part of Pakistan or will be in the near future ...
Kashmir belong to Kashmiris
Mistake by the editor. Will take it up with him.
Truth prevailed, i guess!
@@muhammadqasimsardar1527 Kashmir historically been a part of India. India has proved Pakistan as an Invader in the UN. Now the only things remain as plebiscite to remain independent or to be part of India.

What exactly is 'Jinnah's Pakistan' and 'The Pakistan that was envisioned' ? I keep hearing this but no one really explains. Asking as a curious Indian.
Couldn’t stop laughing when u recited the faiz ahmed faiz poem in Urdu . It was shehzad the comedian !!!

Article 1:- India shall be a Union of states where state includes all state ,UTs and acquired territories.🇮🇳🇮🇳

Please it will be better if you make them in Urdu as you are trying to educate the people of this country not some britishers or Americans. This shows that we haven’t broken the shackles of slavery yet because till date we prefer an alien language than our local languages.

Because 23 March 1957 and 1958 were celebrated as Republic Day. After martial law it was changed to resolution day in 1959.
Good point
Bengalis strongly desired a Pakistan based on the Lahore Resolution...independent states and autonomy. - 🇧🇩
Jabardast naration...
Stay on the pattern. Just some black screen in between is little off track, specially in the second half of the video. Otherwise really good audio, video and research. Waiting for more.

I am anon Muslim Pakistani and loved it with all my heart . Pakistani intolerance shattered it as for all non Muslims who believed in Pakistan. . You wanted a uniform religious nation and this is you curses in hating non Muslim. God is not unfair . He listens to all and loves all his creations .
Ironic.
Unity in diversity and tolerance where in Hindus blood
Becoz Hindu aka vedic and indic faiths are like that
Founding fathers have nothing to do with that
If partition did not happened the attitude of majority Hindus would have been different towards muslims
Liked the video, although it's about a country I do not envy or want to have an association with. Only if there is a way or a tool that exists to find how many Pakistanis watch and like the video.
AND ONE MORE THING...THESE DAYS WE ARE HEARING ABOUT WEALTH LOOTED FROM "TOSHAKANA". THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN CONVENIENTLY FORGOT THAT THE ENTIRE PAKISTAN ITSELF IS A TOSHAKANA FOR THE PEOPLE IN POWER.
Aisa hee hay
Amazing! Please keep them comin’
On a lighter note, Khan Sahab ke Islamic touch ki tarah apka Faiz touch kaam kar gaya 😅
