So this cutscene was made when they had the original "hunt for truth" campaign of Halo 5, before all the marketing stuff became misleading.
Wow dude, that's a fuckin deep an awesome observation. Never thought of it that way. And makes the entire scene feel that much more badass lol. Good on you.
Commissar Purity That and I feel he knew Locke wasn’t really trying to kill chief. Only find him. Arbiter even asked him “Is he your foe?”. Locke didn’t say he was, he said “I’m bringing him home”. This allowed arbiter to know Locke isn’t necessarily an enemy, just a soldier trying to fulfill his duty. Arbiter then told Locke that chief had his reasons and Locke agreed as he said he intended to find out what those reasons were. Arbiter saw Locke wouldn’t act simply on orders and saw Locke could be a potential ally. I think after this exchange arbiter already knew how the ending of halo 5’s campaign was, with chief and Locke as a team. Arbiter knew Locke wasn’t really the enemy and saw he had a sense of honor and duty, similar to chief himself. It’s as if he knew that once the two Spartans met and learned of each others goals, they’d be a team. And on top of that, arbiter knew that even if lockes duty became killing chief, he knew chief would not lose.
Arbiter experienced first hand what the chief was capable of during the war and their time spent working alongside each other. He laughed to himself upon finding out about lockes prey knowing the chief ain't about to just let himself be captured.
+Sean Chriscole You could argue that something to this effect still went down. Locke and his team did contact the Arbiter and join him in crushing the Covenant remnant. But that battle took place on a platform city that looked like Kamino from Star Wars, not this arid landscape. The REAL non-canon thing about this cutscene is the physical appearance of the Elites and the Arbiter themselves! They don't look like these nice HD versions of Bungie Elites, they look like the rest of the bulky Storm Covenant that 343 designed.
The ONE thing I came up with that made sense is that, these cutscenes aren't done by 343, they're done by a different art studio. They may have had permission to use Bungie's Elite designs for the HD version of Halo 2, which is a Bungie game. It's necessary because the cutscenes would look nothing like the in-game models if they used Storm Covenant designs. So when Halo 5, the 343 game came around; this is how Elites look now, it's in the game, it's in the cutscenes, boom done.

***** Its been a couple of years since I got the information. You're better off finding the sources yourself. As I said before, the story writer for halo left with bungie, BUT he eventually left to venture off elsewhere-which is rumored to be the reason why Destiny's story isn't strong. In my perspective, 343 is trying too hard with the story. The recent books just seem all over the place.
They used a different voice actor for Locke for Halo 5, even though they used the actor that in these cutscenes, Halo Nightfall, and the facial and motion capture for Halo 5.
@@scottgrasser9737 Doom Guy had personality though. A man who loves bunnies and a dude who's loyal to his comrades. But also very, very angry and don't tell him that he can't do something because he very well can. He'll also crack a smile sometimes when he's really enjoying the demon slaying.
Two things. One; when Arbiter said "a friend" it hit me straight in the gut... the voice acting sounded seriously sincere and heartfelt. Two, the same feeling happened when Arbiter said that Chief had his reasons for leaving. It's a sense of duty and trust to protect an old ally. A friend.
It makes even more sense when you consider what arbiter has gone through. before he was marked he was considered the covament's greatest general, but then he was brought to his knees before the profits he worked so hard to please. only to later realize that those same people who had branded him Arbiter, a name that they have twisted into a mark of shame, were fools twisting his heart and feeding him lies. It makes me wonder, does arbiter fear that the chief is going through the same hardships? That his friend has been manipulated and is trying to break free. All great stuff to never be explored.
I like how the Arbiter protected the Master Chief by saying he had his reasons. Knowing his status and what he stood for. The Arbiter respected him regardless as a soldier or even as a friend, he understood his mission before Locke did.
"But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother" Brothers through war is a peculiar thing, unbreakable, unshakable. Brothers.
"Covenant Forces Inbound" Yep, the Elites are still fighting the Covenant Remnants on Halo 5. But are they the Brutes, or are they the Storm Covenant? Intriguing...
If I remember correctly, the Brutes were selling their services like mercenaries/cheap labour. I doubt the Elites would pay for Brute labour (the two species hate each other too much) but Jackal Pirates would probably be more than willing to shelf the cost. If the Covenant loyalists were to employ Brutes, it would be interesting to see what the chain of command looks like ingame. Would the grunts care if a brute was killed? Would Brutes give orders, or take them? How often would they berserk, and for what reason? I'm rambling here, but your comment got me thinking.
I'm pretty sure it's the "Storm" Covenant they're about to fight. And from what I remember, the Elites' and Brutes' conflict is still unresolved so maybe we could see a three-way Covenant war: Elites vs Storm vs Brutes
"He was indeed my enemy, in time I called him ally even friend". Lets be honest we all cry at that scene and we all wanted that Arbiter helped John in its mission. The strongest friendship of all Halo without doubts😢😢😖😖
@Noble Six no in Halo 5 Arbiter got the new 343 redesign, making it look more thicc and brute like, same as all the other Elites in Halo 4 and Halo 5. It's not like the armour is bulky, the whole body itself is bulky. God I miss the Bungie era sleek looking Elites!
Remember when elites didn't look and sound like brutes remember they were an honorable species who didn't fall of a cliff after dropping their weapon for no earthly reason and watch their ruler get stabbed to death
+doublebasscrazy17 Yeah the old elites didn't look stupid, didn't act stupid, they weren't stupid. They were elite. These new elites are completely retarded
This video makes me question how skilled agent Locke must be. The Master Chief is the worlds greatest hero, and the world's most formidable weapon. They wouldn't send just any Spartan to capture the Master Chief. I did notice he had a team with him.
Lt Sprinkulz No. Crimson team is good, but still nowhere as close to Master chief. But i agree with ur first comment though. He has an excellent team of spartans and elites, not to mention arbiter
Well in the long run Locke said he plans to find out why chief left which doesn't mean killing him. And if chief did react, Locke has a ONI trained team of spartan IV's and the Arbiter and his guard and judging by the e3 teaser chief isn't armed and his armor is damaged.
Lt Sprinkulz Like Locke said, they are hunting "THE SPARTAN." Master Chief is one of two Spartans to be qualified as a Hyper-lethal vector, and has achieved every naval medal besides the prisoner of war medal. He's better than anything the UNSC has or will produce. At the beginning of Halo 4 it is already stated that they are trying to recreate him with the Spartan IV project. Don't compare anyone to the chief.
I just love the relationship between the Arbiter and the Chief. They we're once enemies at one point, but now the Elite has nothing but respect for the Spartan.
IMO, even though this isn’t original, this is one of the best Halo Cutscenes, seeing the Arbiter speaking of his friendship and even thinking of his past with Master Chief is sick, even the suspense music can bring shivers down your spine.
I mean for the most part it's still relevant in halo 5 they discuss the same thing, Locke trying to kill chef it just is done differently, I do agree though that this way is better.
This video just reminded me that even though Masterchief is a supersoldier, he is still a human. He still has feelings, and he watches after the ones he love and appreciate, like Arbiter, and those who met him have a lot of respect for him.
Locke: "I am not so much hunting a spartan as I am hunting THE Spartan." Arbiter: "Who is that?" Locke: "Master Chief." Arbiter: "Really? Why does his armor look so much different?" Locke: "Uh...to be honest I have no idea."
I haven't played Halo 5. What happens in the game that is so different or worse than this scene? I see a lot of comments about how people wished this was the Halo game, but I'm not sure what they mean.
That's the thing, this amazing cut scene is no where to be found in the game. Instead we get a weird, awkwardly paced scene with Locke and a fat brute like version of the Arbiter.
The story is bad, the lines are poor, the choreography of fight scenes is shit, they changed the elite designs, they expected you to read and watch expanded lore so that you could at least *understand* the shitty campaign. it was just bad overall, lots of false marketing. The "big fight" between chief and Locke was like, 3 minutes of them love tapping each other, it was so disappointing. Don't play Halo 5, and hopefully they fix their mistakes and make Halo Infinite a better game
blackknightkanos lol, that's not super formal. That's some bad voice acting. No pauses, inflections, etc. Like he's rushing through the script and forgot he's supposed to act. Compare that to the Arbiter's voice acting; inflections, pauses. Much better.
Halo Disciple Dunno if you've seen the Remaking of Halo 2 documentary, but in it the voice actor talks about how he thinks Spartan Locke is as a character and mentions that's how the character was written. While it's definitely not the best voice-acting, the blame is not all on the voice actor, I think some of the writers are at fault here for the choice of a character lacking in emotion. Locke as a character just seems so out of place in the Halo universe.
Part of me thinks that Arbiter isn't hunting Master Chief to kill him, he's hunting him to save his friend, look at what he's doing to defend Chief's image against Agent Locke, as well as his reaction when Locke reveals who he is hunting. When my friend and I did a coop play through of Halo 3, I went with the part of Arbiter, partly because he was an elite and I wanted to know what it felt like to be on the pint of view, the other was because he was simply badass. I don't think Arbiter has turned his back on Master Chief, and is following Locke to keep an eye on him.
Chief is everyone's biggest threat at the moment earth, covenant, prometheans whatever, and he's evolved n shit, Hasley was nearly killed by the ONI and the didact basicaly killed corra a right after he got her back from the flood, it's pretty sad really, but I bieleve Locke is going to attempt to kill master chief just as ONI and commander Palmer attempted to kill Hasley , but chief did become even more of a threat since halo 4, you know the whole evolving into a forunner thing, good luck killing him now .
Alpha Leporis Chief is strong sure, but FAR from invincible...if their is One thing Halo has taught us, it is that even the Greatest of beings will fall, to be surpassed by the next generations to come. This is the universal truth of life, and no one, not even John...is immune to that fate.
***** I have no doubt that he's not with the UNSC and that he's working to protect his people, I was referring to Arbiter's reasons for working alongside Locke, even just for the length of the trailer.
C'mon guys, sure Locke's voice acting isn't as good as the Arbiter's but he's really not that bad. The guy's an ONI character, those fuckers are barely human as it is. Spartans aren't exactly trained public speakers, they're almost machines. Plus he's in a very tense environment where he can't be open anyway. Also, anyone else notice they're using the Elite models from Halo 2? As well as the BRs. I'm sure it's 'cause they didn't have time to make shiny new models of the current Elite armour and BRs it's kinda funny lol
The Armour I can conclude, worn by these elites are the elites part of Arbiter's faction called the "Swords of Sanghelios." This is the group was formed during the original trilogy and became allies with the humans against the Prophets. The Elites in Halo 4 were part of the Covenant Remnant lead by Jul' Mdama, who still believes in the Great Journey and hence wears different armour sets. As for the BR, it looks like the Halo 2's but it was a quick and dark image. So i guess the Br was a place holder unless you can use different BR models in Halo 5.
I don't think his voice acting is bad. He sounds aggressive and cocky, like he's looking for a fight and feigning respect (almost belittling/mocking the Arbiter). After hearing his voice and his lines, I think he'd make an excellent antagonist in Halo 5. Maybe a boss fight at the end for the Chief, where Locke uses his thruster pack to stay in the air for a while as he shoots and throws grenades at you, and ground pounds you like in multiplayer. If 343 wants, they can put some of their damned qte's in it, it would still look cool. I doubt he'd die at the end of such a fight, just get knocked out in a melee right at the end
i just noticed that if you look closely at what the arbiter is looking at at 0:30 it is the flying forunner bird in the first trailer where chief is standing in front of it and has cortannas chip in his hand. maybe thats where lock & the arbiter were at the end of the cutscene. If so they might have found the chief
I'm more interested in seeing the guys in the background as a whole. It just gives me a sort of excitement seeing multiple visors lighting up the background because there's variety of custom armors and hopefully they have character too. *Power Rangers theme intensifies.*
Man it's too bad this(And almost every form of media like Spartan Ops and Hunt the Truth) have nothing to do with Halo 5 at all. I mean seeing as this cutscene was in the MCC I was hoping it would play into Halo 5. But nope. Fuck that
Sean Grant Aye, but that's the thing. In the second cutscene, the door opens, and they get ready to drop into battle. That happens in the actual cutscene as well.
I come back to this video now and then just do I can see the H2A design for Halo 5's Arbiter. It's such a damn good design and I really love this version because it keeps the classic Elite aesthetic instead of the 4/5 ones.
Am I the only one who thinks that H5's campaign is going to be amazing? I was pretty sad when Arbiter wasn't in H4 but I love how he's back and he even calls Chief his friend. So excited, can't wait.
Haha I can see chief and arbiter doing some 1 minute handshake saying we saved the fucking galaxy! Then chief looks at Locke like who the fuck is this amateur?
I have a feeling that the Reclaimer Saga will have very similar elements to the first 3 games. Halo 4 is like Halo:CE, just Chief and Cortana discovering a new "planet" and new enemies. Halo 5 is like Halo 2, Agent Locke is introduced as a second playable character, that will switch gameplays with the Chief throughout the game, just like the Arbiter in Halo 2. Halo 6 will probably be something very similar to Halo 3 too.
9089darklord You're statement was enough for me to enter bias mode. I apologize for what I said, its just the comment you made had me react the way I did
Fair enough. Perhaps I should state my motivations for my opinion. Honestly, of all the Halo games, the one that impacted me the least was Halo 3. Things just didn't seem right to me. I've always based my judgement of the Halo games on their single player campaign experience and while I loved the music and graphics of Halo 3, the gameplay just didn't do it for me. My guns felt too nerfed, the friendly AI for the notable characters like Arbiter were horrid (imo) and only 2-3 of the levels in the game had anything memorable about them. So when I say disappointing I don't mean it's a bad game. Compared to today it's still a very good game but with how Halo 2 (my favorite) built it up, it just came out flat to me.
I like how Arbiter values his past, fighting alongside Chief. It shows that he thought of Chief as a true ally and friend, he would even speak on behalf of John. That last cutscene was practically Arbiter asking Locke not to kill Chief, if that were his intentions. "I'm sure he has his reasons for leaving the fold." I guess Halo 3 coop cutscenes are canon....it just goes to show, Chief and Arbiter are bros to the end.
I came back here 3 years later to remember what I thought Halo 5 was going to be. I thought it was going to be the next Halo 2, Chief vs Locke, Spartan II vs Spartan IV the battle of the generations. Locke wasn't just another spartan, the only spartan I thought could have a chance at bringing Chief down was Noble 6. When Hunt the truth/Chief vs Locke was announced I was so excited. What a shame, really. Halo 5 was a major let down
My sister is way too giddy about seeing the arbiter again. It's apparent that he is still Thel 'Vadam (Calling 117 "friend") So she is WAAYYYY excited. Not that surprising he's lived so long as Arbiter.
My personal head cannon is Halo 2 anniversary is just the Arbiter on this mission and he's reliving the memories in his head. I don't know if that's cannon or not but that's what I think
***** How i imagine this will play out: Both Arby and Chief dramatically glare at one another, then burst out laughing and give high-fives before turning around and beating the crap out of whatever enemy is unlucky enough to be close by the ultimate Halo duo.
For people complaining about the voice actor - it's near impossible to act well with terrible dialogue. Honestly, haven't developers started to learn that the writing is now just as important as the gameplay? There was so much more the Arbiter could have said - the master chief caused him to be disgraced, he could have elaborated on that paradox. The UNSC want the chief back, they could have elaborated on the motives of the UNSC. All of this could have been achieved in a few lines, if the writers had gone for quality over cheesy tag-lines.
"Honestly, haven't developers started to learn that the writing is now just as important as the gameplay?" No. No. Just, no. Good writing is a plus. Gameplay is key.
Tom Tomat That's a very generic response, What compels people to keep playing through the combat if not the story? It is not a plus - Titanfall has excellent game-play but the campaign is unbearable, regardless. And for the record, my main investment in the Halo series is its story.
wish they wouldve stuck to detailed dialogue, cutscenes and intense music they had goin here but nope. These two scenes are my favorite part of halo 5. And they aren't even part of the actual game
1:35 that elites voice is badass I like the new overall design and atmosphere of the game, even the ambient music. I just hope the acting, story and gameplay will impress.
I hope the story is split between multiple characters like in Halo 2. Playing as Arbiter again would be sweet. What would be even sweeter would be if Elites were playable in MULTIPLAYER again. All it does is limit customization and freedom to restrict you to Spartans only. Reach made Elites Giant so they had to restrict them to specific game modes, Halo 4 outright removed them. Locke looks about the same size as Arbiter, so since size isn't an issue anymore, hopefully they'll be playable freely again.
I would love another arbiter campaign. I think he is the most interesting character of them all. And multiplayer is so much better with elites. It varies it up.
***** Vehicles have different hitboxes that vary with each vehicle. I suppose the Warthog should be the only vehicle, we can't expect people to need to aim differently because of gameplay freedom.
You can see the dynamics of Elites and Spartans in this , and Master chief as well. Elites treated Spartans as equals on the battlefield, but Master Chief as a literal Demon, worthy of the highest respect, to the point that being killed by him was an honor. They accepted him as a brother, which is an honor almost none of the Covenant races or Humans ever achieved. He was accepted as a brother of the Sangheili even when they were fighting against him, because they saw his worth as a warrior. Spartans were a worthy adversary, the Demon was someone worthy of being killed by. It's even more accented to the point where you can see that the Arbiter, while treating Locke with respect as an equal, is humoring him and believes he has no actual chance of besting Chief and bringing him back under arrest. "I admire your sense of duty , Spartan" was basically a backhanded compliment stating that he didn't believe Locke had a chance of succeeding.
Imagine in Halo 6, Noble 6 shows up- BAM! Then we'll have the Chief, Arbiter, and Noble together. Triangle of awesomeness! I know, it sounds like dumb fanfiction. But one can dream.
Should've used these Elite and weapon designs in Halo 5. 1:36 Should've said "prepare for combat." 2:19 They should've made Prophets Bane a classic energy sword, if not give all the energy swords in Halo 5 the classic design.
Is it weird I like Locke more in these 2 minutes then I do in the entirety of Halo 5? Just the way Locke talks and negotiates with the Arbiter instead of being a blind puppet to ONI makes him a much more interesting character.
Was making a meme here. But yeah. I always did like the look of the reach elites. There's just something about their design that makes them feel very agile and menacing.
There are two rather large mistakes in this video 1 Locke is using a Halo 2 BR and at one scene it disappears from the crook of his arm 2 The Arbiter is not using Prophets Bane what's worse he's using a Halo 2 energy Sword and the elites are kinda Half halo 5 half halo 2 As much as these mistakes just shows how sloppy they were in making halo 5 I would have loved it if they had kept it The old halo 2 gen art style was by far the best
To think, the Arbiter is kinda the only one left to go to to learn about Master Chief. Johnson is dead, Keyes is dead, Cortana is corrupt. The Arbiter knows Master Chief well enough to know if he goes AWOL, he must have good reasons as he's almost always followed orders.
You can tell Arbiter actually misses chief just the way he describes their relationship thru time. “Even friend” as he turns away, not wanting to show his emotion. They need to reunite them!
no, StarFox is an even worse community, take this from a fan of everything you named....or worse yet *Swallows* dare I mention the StarWars community? they're already picking apart on ep VII which has the best story so far, (books) and the director is going to be using high tech practical effects. But yeah the Halo community pisses me off to no end too.
"He was indeed my enemy. In time, i named him ally... even friend."
That made me shed a single manly tear
And what complicates things more is the words “Ally” and “Friend” all have mean different things and certain situations. And the Forging of Bonds that Arbiter is talking about also complicates those words meanings as well. And the way he said those two words symbolizes that he regrets not looking for John when they got separated. I can hear regret in Arbiters voice when he said those two words.
Same
Ok o
Lol
You can notice their trust towards each other in the novel, "Halo:Bad blood. "

"I admire your sense of duty, Spartan...but Chief is gonna kick your ass."
lol

"I'm sure he will Arbiter."

Locke could have been such a good character but halo 5 had garbage writing
@@joshmariotti2844 That's a very fascinating point!
I like how the Arbiter protected the Master Chief by saying he had his reasons. Knowing his status and what he stood for. The Arbiter respected him regardless as a soldier or even as a friend, he understood his mission before Locke did.
"But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother"
Brothers through war is a peculiar thing, unbreakable, unshakable. Brothers.

Yep, the Elites are still fighting the Covenant Remnants on Halo 5. But are they the Brutes, or are they the Storm Covenant? Intriguing...
Well me too honestly. But i want them vicious as hell. Like a blend of Halo 2 with Halo Reach's Brutes.
Israel Urquidi I didn't know that. I'm a bit surprised.
It will still probably be Jul's sect, after all he has the Janus Key and Halsey
I'm pretty sure it's the "Storm" Covenant they're about to fight. And from what I remember, the Elites' and Brutes' conflict is still unresolved so maybe we could see a three-way Covenant war: Elites vs Storm vs Brutes
"He was indeed my enemy, in time I called him ally even friend".
Lets be honest we all cry at that scene and we all wanted that Arbiter helped John in its mission. The strongest friendship of all Halo without doubts😢😢😖😖
This is much better than what actually happened in Halo 5. Good old plasma rifles 😃
@Noble Six no in Halo 5 Arbiter got the new 343 redesign, making it look more thicc and brute like, same as all the other Elites in Halo 4 and Halo 5. It's not like the armour is bulky, the whole body itself is bulky.

This video makes me question how skilled agent Locke must be. The Master Chief is the worlds greatest hero, and the world's most formidable weapon. They wouldn't send just any Spartan to capture the Master Chief. I did notice he had a team with him.
Lt Sprinkulz for satan spawn he seems to have great social skills

IMO, even though this isn’t original, this is one of the best Halo Cutscenes, seeing the Arbiter speaking of his friendship and even thinking of his past with Master Chief is sick, even the suspense music can bring shivers down your spine.
The ship in the beginning looks like a flying fuel rod cannon lol.
It’s disappointing that they made this cutscene only for it to be non canon. This ONE cutscene has more substance to it than the actual game. 🤦🏻♂️

This video just reminded me that even though Masterchief is a supersoldier, he is still a human. He still has feelings, and he watches after the ones he love and appreciate, like Arbiter, and those who met him have a lot of respect for him.
Locke: "I am not so much hunting a spartan as I am hunting THE Spartan."

So, where did this better halo game go?
Lava Comic-Geek that's what I'm saying from this cutscene I was really excited for halo 5 but sadly we didn't get anything
Microsoft throwed away the original story with crap
The plot looks good, but the voice acting for Locke is terrible, Keith David sounds epic as always tho
I was think the same thing. Locke's voice acting is pretty bad.
It does feel a bit off but it's Mike Colter's first attempt at voice acting. I would imagine his voice acting be improved for Halo 5.
Halo Disciple It's not bad. You're probably just not used to hearing someone speak super formal.
blackknightkanos lol, that's not super formal.
1:06 the elites still turn and shutter at the mention of the Demon
The way the other Elites become uneasy when Locke says the word Demon always gets me
1:59 missed opportunity for “were it so easy.”
Un noticed comment that's completely golden
Well, Arbiter should always be secretly on Chief’s side because of all they experience together.
You know that would have been amazing if it was actually in Halo 5
C'mon guys, sure Locke's voice acting isn't as good as the Arbiter's but he's really not that bad. The guy's an ONI character, those fuckers are barely human as it is. Spartans aren't exactly trained public speakers, they're almost machines. Plus he's in a very tense environment where he can't be open anyway.
Also, anyone else notice they're using the Elite models from Halo 2? As well as the BRs. I'm sure it's 'cause they didn't have time to make shiny new models of the current Elite armour and BRs it's kinda funny lol
They're using the H2A Elite models and armour, markedly different from those of Halo 4.
Anh Nguyen They don't believe in the great journey. They hate humans and want to destroy them.

Arbiter and Chief was a friendship we didn't know we needed, but loved
Damn
I cant believe people think his voice acting was bad. It really fits his armor and character really well
@@MoneyTrees2012 its just not the story we wanted to happen

i just noticed that if you look closely at what the arbiter is looking at at 0:30 it is the flying forunner bird in the first trailer where chief is standing in front of it and has cortannas chip in his hand. maybe thats where lock & the arbiter were at the end of the cutscene. If so they might have found the chief

Sean Grant Because canon. If you're going to write the scene, make the scene that you wrote canon.
Sean Grant Aye, but that's the thing. In the second cutscene, the door opens, and they get ready to drop into battle. That happens in the actual cutscene as well.

Something less disappointing I hope...
9089darklord you're a disappointment
To you? But I don't even know you. That's very quick judgement. You might benefit from lowering your standards of others. :)
I get chills just watching this video over n over again !!
“It is my trust u must earn” damn what an alpha
Arbiter: He was indeed my enemy but in time, I named him ally. Even friend.
Every Halo fan: OHHHH DADDY HURT ME PLENTYY HAJEBREBBDJED DEEBBDBDB
I came back here 3 years later to remember what I thought Halo 5 was going to be. I thought it was going to be the next Halo 2, Chief vs Locke, Spartan II vs Spartan IV the battle of the generations. Locke wasn't just another spartan, the only spartan I thought could have a chance at bringing Chief down was Noble 6. When Hunt the truth/Chief vs Locke was announced I was so excited. What a shame, really. Halo 5 was a major let down
Arbiter will always be my favorite character. The role in itself has some of the best stories from the halo universe.
My sister is way too giddy about seeing the arbiter again. It's apparent that he is still Thel 'Vadam (Calling 117 "friend") So she is WAAYYYY excited. Not that surprising he's lived so long as Arbiter.
Any halo fan will understand what the Arbiter means. The Arbiter and the Elites Respected the Master Cheif to a point as mortal enemies can
The Arbiter's voice actor gave an amazing performance.
‘I wasn’t told the identity of your prey’
‘That’s why I’m telling it to you now’
We should have foreseen the shitty dialogue of Halo 5 here.
2:06 literally on the edge of my seat forgetting there are no more cutscenes after this.

Arbiter against Jul 'Mdama would be cool. (Arbiter better kick his arse tho lol.)
I definitely want Arbiter to side with Chief.
***** That happened in halo CE and part of halo 2.
"Honestly, haven't developers started to learn that the writing is now just as important as the gameplay?"
No. No. Just, no. Good writing is a plus. Gameplay is key.
Tom Tomat That's a very generic response, What compels people to keep playing through the combat if not the story? It is not a plus - Titanfall has excellent game-play but the campaign is unbearable, regardless.
And for the record, my main investment in the Halo series is its story.

the arbiter is badass, his friend,.
The only good Halo 5 cutscene.
And it's not even canon

That just got me pretty friggin hyped for halo 5.
The arbiter is so cool. I cant stop watching this.
Imagine in Halo 6, Noble 6 shows up- BAM! Then we'll have the Chief, Arbiter, and Noble together. Triangle of awesomeness!
I know, it sounds like dumb fanfiction. But one can dream.

Arbiter Second
Arbiter Elite Guard 3rd and 4th players
These are just placeholder models.
The only thing that came true from the comment speculation.
Should've used these Elite and weapon designs in Halo 5.
1:36 Should've said "prepare for combat."
2:19 They should've made Prophets Bane a classic energy sword, if not give all the energy swords in Halo 5 the classic design.
They really shoulda kept the Halo ce, 2, 3 elite helmet design
Is it weird I like Locke more in these 2 minutes then I do in the entirety of Halo 5? Just the way Locke talks and negotiates with the Arbiter instead of being a blind puppet to ONI makes him a much more interesting character.
Why is Locke so much cooler in this scene than he is in Halo 5? I hope he comes back in this form
343i should have used these models for elites, at least for the swords of sanghelios. Hope to see that in Halo 6
Officially, they look like these. IIRC they even tweeted or posted something about this topic and said something like "We dot no mo' money".
2:15 Me and the boys getting ready for Halo Infinite
Infinite brought back these elites right here just not the H2A ones more of the reach/cea ones but it's close enough
Was making a meme here. But yeah. I always did like the look of the reach elites. There's just something about their design that makes them feel very agile and menacing.
Even more now
Seeing this in the H2 campaign was like a slap in the face
“I am hunting THE spartan” such a badass line about chief
“ your people used to call him demon was that an insult or a compliment.”
There are two rather large mistakes in this video
1 Locke is using a Halo 2 BR and at one scene it disappears from the crook of his arm
2 The Arbiter is not using Prophets Bane what's worse he's using a Halo 2 energy Sword and the elites are kinda Half halo 5 half halo 2
As much as these mistakes just shows how sloppy they were in making halo 5
I would have loved it if they had kept it
The old halo 2 gen art style was by far the best
It's saving time and money for blur studios to recycle models they've already made. Those cutscenes aren't cheap.
I hope Blur Studios plays Halo and they think their weapons are better than 5's, because they do look better.
Honestly, A+ dialogue.
Bro they set it up beautifully and they dropped the ball so hard. Tell me how this one cutscene gives me more hype than the damn game itself.

Kinda amazing how Halo 2’s Story was retold to Locke by the Arbiter in between those two scenes
You can tell Arbiter actually misses chief just the way he describes their relationship thru time. “Even friend” as he turns away, not wanting to show his emotion. They need to reunite them!
I swear the halo community is the most pickiest community out their on the earth soon enough the community might surpass the dark souls community.
no, StarFox is an even worse community, take this from a fan of everything you named....or worse yet *Swallows* dare I mention the StarWars community? they're already picking apart on ep VII which has the best story so far, (books) and the director is going to be using high tech practical effects.
But yeah the Halo community pisses me off to no end too.
***** I think we've surpassed the CoD Kids. at this point and might surpass the dark souls community but I still care deeply for halo.
christ no...not the Sonic fans, I literally cannot say ANYTHING about Sanic without being bombshelled. Glass them all, seriously they won't be missed.
Zelly64 lol.
Zelly64 But what about me? I'm a sonic fan and I still respect others opinions. Can I please not get glassed?
