Out of all breakouts, the spirit of fire might be the funniest one, knowing Spartans can absolutely rip something with their hands , Jerome chose a fucking chair 😂😂😂😂😂
thank god there were spartans on board too, marines wouldn't be able to manage that situation effectively enough and would've likely been ordered to scuttle the ship
There’s a small detail in Halo CE that a lot of people miss, but there’s actually a couple places in the flood missions where you can find marine and jackal corpses next to each other in defensive positions surrounded by the flood. Implying they put aside their differences to make a last stand.
The thought of 4 infected Spartans and and unknown number of infected forunners and marines chilling in what is essentially a commandeered FTL capable upsized pelican dropship is as ridiculous as it is terrifying.
Right listen here, there were good doggos and then Doctor Seuss invented green spaghetti and then the good doggos ate the green spaghetti and then they were no longer good doggos. And that’s how the flood first flooded!
Moral of the story: Make sure to mark the expiration date somewhere visible on the vials next time. Sincerely, All life with enough sufficient biomass to sustain the Flood
All biomass can sustain the Flood -- except for Chuck Norris because legends say that Chuck punched a zombie so hard, it came back to life. Also because he's the guy whose house destroyed a fire, demoted the rapper 1 Dollar into 50 Cent, and the sole reason why Waldo is hiding
How have we not gotten a Halo horror game yet? There are so many points in the timeline where the premise of "lone marine against the Flood onslaught" would fit in perfectly.
Even better if it's just a technician, kinda like dead space without the powerfull weapons and that stuff, but a situation more similar too alien isolation, where you can just scare the xenos but not outright kill them, now with the flood you can kill them but it has to be difficult and as a last resort
It's an honest shame too. Because from a cash grab standpoint all they would have to do is add a flood DLC to infinite or just even mention the flood when talking about a future Halo game and it would add so much hype.
I mean weren't they part of 4? Honestly if they were to bring the Flood back again, then it would have to be a massive storyline. I could see them adding them as an update patch in Infinite. Maybe the final update before a new Halo game where the story literally is the destruction of the Flood once and for all
Even though it's only brief references, the description for one of the Halo 5 Req variants and the 2022 Halo Encyclopedia stated that the Covenant encountered/released the Flood several times over the course of their history.
Mine just went to the flood, i mean, the Endless DOES sound like a nickname for it. I just hope 343 manages to make the endless interesting, or at least mid... or if not, Gay will have to write another book fixing 343's problems lol
I kinda was shocked when I didn’t see High Charity and the outbreak in Africa- but then I realized those weren’t outbreaks, but the continuation of the Delta Halo containment breach. I love the video- very comprehensive and detailed, and it warms my heart to see the Endless included in more theory videos as actually contenders for unsolved mysteries. Stumbled on a bit of a rabbit hole tho- supposedly the Forerunners were the Precursor’s adjutants, and the humans had been selected for the Mantle of Responsibility. I was reading the Halo Encyclopedia, and it mentioned that the Eld(that one Forerunner symbol we see everywhere) was precursor in origin and a mistranslation of an unknown meaning. The Eld- the symbol of the Ecumene, and the Reclaimer Glyph- the symbol of humanity’s inheritance, are both potential mistranslations of Precursor concepts. Furthermore, we see the Harbinger wearing the reclaimer symbol on her helm, and the face of Abaddon(a precursor AI- which is most likely just a precursor who entered the domain) has the face of a human with Xalanyn features. If you look at Abaddon, the Primordial, and the Harbinger all together at once the resemblance is uncanny. The head shape, the mandibles with a human face, and the fact that Guardians are precursor in origin- like the Composers- giving the composed and Guardians those horrid grins. What I’m trying to say is- the fact that the Flood, humanity, Precursors, Primordial, and the Endless are connected in some way is undeniable. Clearly the Forerunners had plans for the humans- according to the Primordial- and the Xalanyn seem to also have some level of connection to the Humans. The Harbinger brings the truth that perhaps the humans aren’t the precursor’s reclaimers, but they are important to their grand plan. The Precursors, Abaddon for example, uses a blend of facial features of the Xalanyn and humans, with a Guardian body. Personally, I believe that the Endless are the reincarnations of many of the killed Precursors- we know they died and rebirths, advanced and devolved; what if the Endless are just re-evolving precursors who’ve been in stasis for all these years? I was re-listening to Despondent Pyre’s lines earlier, and she mentions how the Xalanyn were discovered by the Forerunners but seemingly anticipated by her superiors, the surprise being that they had appeared so quickly. The Forerunners knew the precursor race would return, but they were shocked by how fast they did so. Anyway- I love Halo’s lore
I believe the endless caused the delta halo outbreak, they were survivors of the forunner purge. Trying to find their locked away species on the wrong ring, they broke out the wrong species. And the monitor referred to them as meddlers. Same deal with spark on 04 but they crash landed and before they could explore the ring to try and find their species (not knowing they were on the wrong ring) spark built a building over them ro cover them up.
The ones that crashed on 04 died in the crash most likely. Spark says his many attempts to communicate with them were met with silence and there was no sign of them even attempting to leave their vessel.
@BrandonFlint-ro2ns They started sending out a distress call that spark blocked. The endless (meddlers) were probably injured upon crashing. But I bet the endless (meddlers) that went to delta halo accidentally freed the flood trying to find their lockeded away species not knowing they were only on zeta halo.
Just love how you described every single flood outbreak from the very first of the video. Especially given the fact that you described them in other videos, like flood and flood horror story is you name it. Love your videos
There were a few things you left out (understandable because of how much there was to cover) such as how Rtas lost his mandible in the infected covenant ship, Chief’s interaction with an infected Mendoza in Halo: The Flood, and the Didact’s torture by the Gravemind. Great video as always! 🪑
The Flood left the galaxy, but we know the Precursors had vanished long before. Who can say whether the dusted Precursor, now the Flood, didn't eventually visit their kin after so many years?
This really makes me want a Flood Survival Horror game so much. And it would be perfect if we could use improvised weapons like a steel chair to combat the Flood, just like Jerome did. Halo 2's outbreak was the best outbreak and the lore behind it is amazing.
Great video Hiddenxperia showing the chronology of so far deplayed outbreaks of the Flood in Halo. The outbreaks of Site 22, Halo Wars 2, and the Shield World sure does show the efficiency of the Flood both spreading and being able to preserve itself for so many years without extra substance. I like how you are using B.C. I am glad for it. I think when it comes to infestations and assimilations with ruthlessness, cunning, cleverness, wit, misdirection, potential potency, and hyper cognitive mental abilities four infestation factions are the most similar in sci fi to the Flood. The Blight from Fire Upon the Deep. The Beast from Homeworld Cataclysm. The Infested from Warframe. And last but not least SCP-610 atleast when it's hyperactive and has a force leading it like Yaldabaoth or Sarkics. The Beast and Infested are nanobots that turns it's infested host very quickly into whatever it's purposes are, and the Beast can infect ships in seconds and pilot fleets. The Blight is another machine like intelligence who in Fire Upon the Deep spreads astronomically even through signals somehow if not kept in check by multiple Reality bending phenomenons called Zones of thoughts which surround the galaxy in universe of the book. It can be stopped but it is extremely difficult.
Can I just say how much I appreciate the effort you put into your videos Luc? The way you're always using the perfect Halo OST for the things you're talking about, as well as all the obscure pictures and cutscene usage that can be interpreted as relevant to the thing you are talking about in that moment must take you hours to put together and I really appreciate it. It's what makes your videos so damn interesting and it's why you're my favorite Halo UA-camr. I see a lot of people often thanking their favorite content creators for their content but I rarely do it tbh. I usually prefer commenting on the topic of the video but idk, I just felt like I had to express it this one time. I've been watching you for YEARS and it feels like you're the only creator that's still passionately giving his voice to try and improve the franchise through your well-deserved platform. You're the light in the dark right now as I have soooo many issues with how Halo is being handled now and knowing you're out there with the exact same concerns and voicing those concerns on a respectable platform gives me hope so again, from the bottom of my heart; thank you and please keep it up with the lore videos! Every time I think I know all there is to know about Halo, I watch one of your videos and immediately get humbled 💪🏻
16:41 That's really cool to have a potential tie in to the Endless. It works with the timing of the outbreak too that any advanced race that was around at that time would have had to have survived the rings somehow, like the Endless did
There’s actually another outbreak you didn’t cover: the Flood outbreak on the agricultural support ship, the Infinite Succor, that was assigned to the fleet of Particular Justice. It’s where half-jaw get his distinctive facial scar.
You should make a mega-video covering of all of the Halo lore we know so far. I have a friend getting into Halo, and he wants to know everything. Keep up the great work!

If 343 wants to make the Endless the next big bad have it so the flood can still subject them to the logic plague. This would be a great way to show the superiority of the flood, and the galactic threat they pose.
You missed the one really obscure case where a flood commandeered phantom escaped being glassed by the Shadow Of Intent during Halo 3 and crash landed in Australia. But was quickly eradicated by the immense heat as well as the highly venomous spiders and hornets. On top of UNSC intervention lead by Chibs Dubbo.
Another thing about G 617-g is that g is the seventh letter of the alphabet and we all know how much Bungie loves the number seven. In addition to that 6+1=7, 7 is obvious, and the other g is also obvious.
I think my favorite one is still the outbreak of Alpha Halo. Yes, that one on Delta Halo was more severe, but the atmosphere of fear and dark and threat you can feel in Halo CE is almost unique. Togheter with some of the best levels of the whole trilogy, such that on the Truth & Reconciliation for example.
I always wondered about the outbreak on Delta Halo. How did it spread so far to start building a Gravemind, what were the Flood consuming on a ring that, presumably, had no population?
You know what would have been hilarious? If the final test of the precursors was a show of humility from the forerunners in accepting that they may not be the best choice
Hiddenxperia Do you have a moment? Just a moment is all it will take. I just came to thank you for the video Man XD, obviously I didn't have time to watch it yet tho, for some reason I knew this would be posted, and an F5 later there was the first one on the UA-cam list
We need a game where you play as a Gravemind attempting to control every Forerunner/Precursor/ Halo ring in existence. Take control of all the different flood forms, introduce new forms, have a big campaign spanning multiple planets and galaxies where Chief and Arbiter come in to stop it. Would be epic.
Congrats on the 600k! Also I always thought it would be cool as hell to make a horror style game from something like the story about the Mona Lisa or a similar setting.
Gotta get up at 4am for work and was scrolling for a video to fall asleep too. Saw hidden dropped another flood video and now my attitude has shifted to sleep is for the weak 😂
Is there any lore about the covenants first contact with the flood? Because in halo was 1 when we first see the arbiter he is trying to gain access to the forerunner map room in the ice and a elite asks him about “the Parasite”. This was a few weeks before they arrived to the shield world and discovering that particular outbreak. Anyone know anything?
Where does the scene of something falling through the atmosphere and a flood combat form watching it fall come from?? I have been trying to find it for some time!! I know I have seen it! I just can't find where. It's featured in this video at 0:19. Please someone help!
I love Batman, he is my favorite Hero and i usually believe he can get out of most situations even some people would call “plot armor”. Arkham Batman probably wouldnt make it cuz he is scaled down in comparison to the comics. And even comic Batman prob wouldnt make it unless he had sooo much time to prepare. I think he may live for a little bit but ultimately it would get him.
I think it’s crazy how the theme of the flood is “flood is here, contain it, oh flood again, contain it, right we build rings to wipe them out, nah just kidding contain it” lol

Thanks for making sure that I have a vid ready when I'm about to eat
Alright fine i'll replay the entire halo series while watching halo lore videos
20:57 I’ve wondered what the name of this “ambience” or song this is (in the background)

Thats what i was wondering as well, there couldn't have been enough flood forms in storage to make a gravemind.
The forerunners really just be leaving jars of flood everywhere
I need all these youtube videos available as podcasts I swear I can spend hours and hours listening to him talk about Halo
I think my favorites were the mini outbreak on the spirit of fire and The outbreak on the Mona
It's been a long ass day, and I finally get to kick back and binge some flood lore
I so feel that!
FDA: This should have had a "Do not eat" label on it. That's an infraction.
So Flood Inc (Plague Inc but it's the Flood)?
Unless I didn't hear it, this might be the first time HiddenXperia didn't incorrectly say that the Flood were corrupted. Finally!
Congrats on the 600k! Also I always thought it would be cool as hell to make a horror style game from something like the story about the Mona Lisa or a similar setting.
25:52 what weapon are you using, and what’s the big thing you’re fighting? It doesn’t seem to be in your flood form video.
Every time this guy says "humans and forerunners" it comes out like "humans and foreigners"
8:29 GOOSEBUMPS 🙏🙌🙏
Gotta get up at 4am for work and was scrolling for a video to fall asleep too. Saw hidden dropped another flood video and now my attitude has shifted to sleep is for the weak 😂
Congratulations brother for 600k
Why are your videos so entertaining and rewatchable 7 times later
I am very impressed with the quality of this video! Well done!!
Hiddenxperia making a new flood lore video : now i shall talk, and you shall listen
any plans to make more SCP content? I've been enjoying it as a supplement
Where does the scene of something falling through the atmosphere and a flood combat form watching it fall come from?? I have been trying to find it for some time!! I know I have seen it! I just can't find where. It's featured in this video at 0:19. Please someone help!
Is it a terminal?
It's in Halo wars ! One of the cinematics where the spirit of fire reaches a new and unexplored planet
*sees title
*sees video is only 30 minutes
*thinks: “How the HELL is he gonna pull this off?!”
I’ll be damned, you actually pulled it off!
Congrats for 600k subs i love your lore videos
600K!! Very Nice I hope I hit it one day!
Congrats for 600k
Thank you for explaining Delta Halo’s outbreak because for years I was trying to understand how the hell it happened. I appreciate you 🫡
Could Batman survive a flood outbreak? Specifically Arkham Batman. Bruh, I'm famous, 158 comments and counting, 604 likes and counting
Ol' Bruce has a nervous system and breathed unfiltered air, he's done for
@@HiddenXperia Arkham Batman has GOTTA have a hazmat bat suit somewhere
I love Batman, he is my favorite Hero and i usually believe he can get out of most situations even some people would call “plot armor”. Arkham Batman probably wouldnt make it cuz he is scaled down in comparison to the comics. And even comic Batman prob wouldnt make it unless he had sooo much time to prepare. I think he may live for a little bit but ultimately it would get him.
What about Iron Man?
The HazBat @@obiwankenobi6774
Very Nice! You got 600k I hope I will too one day haha!
I think it’s crazy how the theme of the flood is “flood is here, contain it, oh flood again, contain it, right we build rings to wipe them out, nah just kidding contain it” lol
AYYYYYYYYY!!! 600k baby!!! Well done dude!
Right off the bat, Master Chief would huge help in the Resident Evil games.
"Hm, a spaceship full of mystery canned meat. I might feed it to my pet koala."
Jerome 092 was like a Dad who got woken up from his nap and now it's gonna be everyone's problem...
Congrats on 600k!
