Joel S. Edwards Well if he didn’t Boros would of destroyed all life on earth, ultimately killing Saitama since he is a human and needs air. 2 years later, this comment didn’t age well lmao.
@@DS-dw3pz are you even aware that he can control his strength? he wasnt trying to kill Boros until their last exchange. If Boros was an opponent that he *'needed'* to use his serious punch against then he wouldnt have had to lie about enjoying the fight to Boros while he was dying. He was trying to make boros enjoy the fight lmao.
@@joels.edwards3562 I nvr said thr he used his full power bro... Bt saying tht normal punches can kill boros is a straight up lie bro... We already saw his consecutive punches which didn't kill boros at all... He finally used serious punch which managed to kill him although he still survived fr awhile and died... Bro doesn't mean tht if you use yr final move you will no longer have strength or power to fight anymore where I am already sure you have seen in many other animes where they still can keep fighting after using their most powerful move and in this case, it is proven even more since saitama's power is limitless and he still has so much power to spare although using the serious punch which is his final move since his power is limitless.. Thats wt they meant
Boros is the only character who understands Saitama, and even realizes just how sad his situation is. For a satirical anime, the intelligence of the writer is incredible
yes ikr saitama is sad since what he wants to feel is a real fight and a real battle he got bored bcoz of the one punch situation, so for me i declare Boros as a new fav charac
@@Carthaginian_Empiresince he was talking about how boros is evil by attacking other planets, just by comparing him to telemarketers, telemarketers are also evil, thats it lol, idk what other thing u were thinking
not a mistake, he traveled from big pond to big pond TRYING to find a fish that was even as close to big as he was. he found his goal, but indeed he found a goddamn megalodon lol
I love the small discussion the two have at the end. Boros realizes, in truth, he was not the one cursed with too much strength, it is Saitama. In his last few seconds he understands Saitama completely, and everything he is going through.
The best part about this fight, is that it wasn't an actual fight. Saitama was just empathizing for Boros and his boredom because he can relate to the sense of alienation from being too powerful.
Yeah, Saitama probably did empathize with Boros. He probably also felt a sense of true disappointment; here was a being that had travelled the universe looking for *anyone* strong enough to even be fun to fight, yet Saitama was *still* utterly outclassing him. It must have been as if the whole universe told him _no, you will never find anyone strong enough to let you feel excited ever again_
@@VomicaEmanio That's kind of the beauty of OPM. For the rest of the cast, the conflicts are often life or death, a battle that needs to be won, but with a character like Saitama, a character who's purpose is that they are strong enough to end any fight in one shot, the character's conflict are all roundabout; It's never as simple as winning a fight. It often becomes a battle of ideals. Suiryu's idea of "strength" and hero work, Blizzard's value of heroism, King's identity, and this one is exactly as you said. The ending to season one is that the world is saved, but Saitama loses. He is simply too strong.
@@negan991 Boros literally told Saitama that he-himself was strongest in the Universe. That basically just let Saitama know he will never find anyone stronger.
It's such a small detail, but the heart beating once Boros is about to launch his final attack harkens back to the VERY beginning of the series, where Saitamas heart beats during his dream with a worthy opponent. Essentially illustrating that Boros finally found his worthy opponent. Beautiful writing imo
@@dookie9973 Manga spoiler: Someone called "God" appeared a few times. He is implied to be stronger than Boros, and so far has the ability to create dragon level monsters or even stronger monsters then kill them on a whim. @@victorkao1472 if thats the case then saitama would be an opponent for this god and he hasnt exerted himself from these multicontinent to planet level antagonists
@@jiodesu Yeah with how opm is written the biggest joke would be for "God" to get one punched by Saitama just like any other wolf level threat. But we don't know yet
Just noticed: Since this entire fight is more about Boros then Saitama as he's the one who's actually having any fun, him having all the flashy effects for his attacks which makes him easier to track on screen then Saitama is a very smart visual choice to convey the idea of this fight. After all, Saitama isn't trying, but Boros has come across the entire galaxy just to get an adrenaline hit, and he's getting it.
I love the heart beat at 8:26 it's the exact same way Saitama's did when he dreamed of fighting the subterraneans and finally being given a fight that excites him. The sad music playing as Saitama walks away is very fitting, although he technically won, it was Boros who got what he wanted, the opportunity to let loose and experience the fight of his life, whereas Saitama has to continue on feeling numb and unfulfilled.
Boros got to feel what his enemies did. I feel that casual „I made it“ after the moon jump. He seems genuinly excited that, you know, *he got it right*
actually boros didnt quite get it either, he wanted a battle between equals, one where both would give giving they best and trying to not die, this battle was completly one sided
@@Cosmic_Unreal that's besides the point and more of a creative decision. The point being the anime UA-cam community is littered with people obsessed with doing cringe edits or cutting up the video so much you miss pivotal moments during the fight.
@@ZioN.I.N.OTrue, i hate how the edits are legit just screen shake and fancy colors, its literally just brain rot it's made to just entertain your brain and the extremely hype music just makes everything just worse.
Personally I don't find it the best for a few reasons, this is obviously my own opinion and preference but only one of the 2 sides showed real struggle, a miniscule amount of emotion came out of Saitama so there wasn't a real feel of hype seeing 2 sides have a mental conversation while fighting it out, you can make the argument that Boros was looking for the strongest in the Universe and Saitama rapidly blew through his expectations, it wasn't enough for me, but that's not to say the fight was brilliant, better than many I would say
@@michaelchristidis8658 That is the point. It goes against steryotypical shonin Anime where one guy is shouting for the power of friendship and gets knocked down 60 times before winning and the bad guy get dropped 50 times but each time powers up saying the hero is weak. The point is the OPM hero is unbeatable, he is a side character in his own show. You have to understand the fights you want happen with the side characters. This fight was hype because I was actually clapping for Boros sayin "go on, bro you got this" when clearly he doesnt. Anyway say what you want about the narative that as you say is personal preference. Each anime has their apeal for different reasons and I do get where u coming from. When I say it's the best fight I mean objectively from an Audio/Visual stand, less subjective as it is about choryography, amount of frames, technical drawing ability and colour theory. From that stand point its honestly still one of the best. In my opinion only contenders are maybe Zoro/King or some of the Kaisen fights, even then saitama v Boros is just too perfect for me I honestly can't pick a flaw in it minus a brief use of 3d at one point for 1 second.
"You're too strong, Saitama" I guess boros was sad when he said that, not because he lost the fight only but because he knows what saitama is going through
@@jirivrana9562 LMAO he destroyed entire planets in search of a worthy opponent and was gonna send earth to hell too. Im pretty sure he is the pure evil, he just had a particular agenda in mind. In short he was a serial killer seeking an adrenaline rush.
He also only used his right hand for the consecutive normal punches. Watch closely between 7:56 and 7:59. He never bothers to throw a left. He's just pounding on Boros inefficiently with his right arm like a jackhammer.
OPM is unironically one of the best representations of depression I have ever seen in anime. The balance between funny/gag/serious is beautiful. Saitama is such a great written character that goes so beyond just a "over-powered character"
And of course that gets brought up here. First of all, stop bringing debates where the main topic at hand aren't debates. Secondly, no feats here are anywhere close to above Goku's capabilities. And third of all, between Goku and Saitama, there's no point in debating how that'd go. There are different interpretations on who'd win that are completely valid. Feats wise, Goku is ahead, but Saitama's power grows exponentially faster.
@@blueicydasani4543 Teleportation and Space Adaptation are very different things. Goku has not shown the ability to survive unaided in the vacuum of space for extended periods. He typically requires an environment where he can breathe. 🤷
Have you noticed that these two were fighting so fast that none of the S Class heroes, including Tatsumaki, didn't even realize they were even fighting?
Well the ship is massive and they all were directly under the ship they may have heard stuff but they probably thought it was tatsumaki they couldn't have seen the fight
This is why Boros would have killed every S class hero (excluding Blast) himself. Saitama was the only one standing in his way in that moment. The unstoppable force vs immovable object. Never gets old!
I love Boros because he had the drive of a protagonist. Never letting himself feel defeated, and giving it his all till the end. His design is fantastic all the way through
@@mrexists5400 vaccine man is piccolo inspired, boros is probably like raditz or goku ssj3. Also his personality is similar to frieza and vegeta in a way. Yeah the writing of Boros is still better than "God" Garou in terms of drama, dialogue, purpose and dream. The only thing God garou had better was combat power, and "fit" to join the good side, Even if Garou go good, he's still only a strong human which One-punch man was already saturated off.
The look Boros makes at 8:03 when he is almost vaporised (something he has most likely never experienced) and still has the presence of mind to snap his body back together a moment later and attempt to fight on (literally to the death) is peak anime. The eye for a moment almost reminds me of ‘father’ when he was the ‘the dwarf in the flask’ from full metal alchemist
Tbh he most likely did that on purpose. He could probably best Boros in every single aspect if he wanted to. He just didn't do it cause he understood him and wanted him to have a nice and exciting fight. It's like doing Arm Wrestling against a 6 yo where you pretend that you're struggling.
@@kaystephan2610 Tbf, Saitama was legitimately surprised by how strong Boros was. He survived from his normal punches and even consecutive punches. Not saying Boros stood a real chance, but compared to what Saitama is used to dealing with, he definitely surpassed Saitama’s expectations.
@@chillguy7687 Nah be sure that if he was serious from the beginning, Boros wouldn't have a single chance against him. I think Saitama wanted him to fight a little because he wouldn't find such an opponent anymore. And he was probably surprised mainly because he survived the type of blow that was able to tear each other to pieces, if Saitama wanted them, he would be dead on the first blow.
"You lie. You had strength to spare. I never stood a chance. It wasn't even a battle. So much for prophecies. You were too strong...Saitama..." Boros was the one to make the last real blow. He knew Saitama wasn't just lying to him, but himself, trying to convince himself that he enjoyed their fight like the one in his dream, but he did not. That is why the mood of the scene is melancholy instead of triumphant like most fight victories. Which is why Saitama walks away with his head down, covered with shadows, with somber music playing. Feeling contempt, knowing he's cursed being too strong to experience a true victory after an honest fight. The Strongest Hero.
good observations. you're on point. but i don't think boros even realized he is the best opponent of saitama that can survive serious killer move punch.
Not just that, but its against an intergalactic warlord who has been scouring the galaxy for who knows how long. That is the point of reference for saitama "this is as close as it will ever be"
Imagine having the greatest, world-shaking, life-changing sex of your life and have your partner say "It was ok." and that's where Boros was when his life ended.
@edwingaleana2085 Genos already knew Saitama boarded the ship. And the others like Tatsumaki were fighting off various foes below and also when the mothership launched a new round of those oversized bullets, Tatsumaki rerouted them and did significant damage to it.
This fight still slaps 7 years later. The hype in the community when this episode first dropped was so fun. I don't think I've ever watched more live reactions for an anime episode than I did for this episode.
Legit, this is the first and last fight I've watched reactions on, just because I was so blown away. It's one of those I wish I could forget so I could watch it all over again. Same with the whole movie of A Silent Voice.
This fight was brilliant writing. Saitama was leagues above Boros, yet kept allowing him to hit him because he wanted him to enjoy the fight, even lying to him in the end by saying it was a beautiful fight (also kinda trying to lie to himself) but Boros calls him out because he deeply understands how he feels and genuinely feels sorry for him.
Still bro Saitama was genuinely surprised and thought he was strong although he wasn't trying....I mean bro sending Saitama to the Moon is a huge deal bro... everyone else can't even move Saitama
@@DS-dw3pz in the latest chapter of the Manga, Tatsumaki tried to sent Saitama instantly to the space but she can't even move him. That shows how Boros is actually strong.
I think I’m just now realizing that Saitama playing with the moon rock wasn’t just him being him but he was testing how exactly gravity works on the moon so to figure out how much force he needs to put into jumping back to earth. You can see he makes a nod and stern face after playing with the rock as if to say “Ok figured it out, just gotta jump with this much force.”
Good catch! That is exactly right! When you see the amount of power that Sataima has when reading later manga editions, you realize that Sataima is always conscious of how much power he uses.
“No annoying edits” thanks for that. I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates when their favorite scenes are mangled by people editing with more cuts than a phillip defranco video.
@@jirivrana9562 Fr, JC Staff better put in all they got for season 3. Well tbf they only had a year to make season 2, it’s not entirely their fault ig.
"You're still conscious?? You really ARE strong..." Saitama gave Boros true praise and respect right there. He was still able to say a few sentences before dying after Saitama gave him one serious punch. That is the ultimate praise from Saitama and Boros should be proud that the strongest being of all time praised him like that before he died. Boros died a true warrior. That is one of my favorite OPM moments right there. No one has ever taken one of those from Saitama and could say anything after cause they would have died instantly. Fucking amazing scene.
The crazy thing is that if he hadn't used up all of his energy during the fight Boros would have been able regenerate from that attack. Boros using up all of the energy he had for staying alive and regeneration to attack Saitama is what actually killed him. Crazy.

@@canaandanielson8863 Yeah, but of the two, who got anything out of it? Boros atleast felt something about it. Both of them entered with the same sensation; never really being able to feel alive. Hell, the moment before Boros uses his final attack is a direct call back to a dream saitama has at the beginning of the season; where he dreams of facing a challenge he can't just punch away, where he can feel the rush he did when he first started. Except in this moment, it's not a dream for Boros. He lives this moment, finally being able to enjoy himself again. Boros dies, but he dies fulfilled. Saitama is left alone, with something that must feel like confirmation of his worst nightmare. "You are just too strong, Saitama" is not a compliment, it's Boros pitying Saitama, having known the same existance he had. Saitama leaves the fight unfulfilled in any real way. He saves the world, but at the cost of the knowledge that he is likely never going to find what he wants, and he'll never feel real excitement again.
"You were too strong, Saitama..." It must be incredibly painful for Saitama to hear these words from what is supposedly the strongest being in the universe. And I don't think this was Boros acknowledging Saitama's strength. It was just him pitying Saitama.
What’s terrifying about this fight is that Saitama didn’t actually sustain any damage at all. Not only was his strength beyond what Boros could output, Boros couldn’t even hurt him at all. And Saitama knew this from the start, he just didn’t have the heart to break it to him with words
Saitama and Boros are pretty similar. They both want to go all-out, but don't have oponents to do that. Saitama just sympathised with Boros and gave him a good fight.
@@kostuchan4418 right. Saitama let Boros have what he couldn’t. A true all out moment, which makes Saitama not only the most powerful hero but the most considerate hero
How could he? "Hey man, you're so weak your attacks don't even tickle me" anyone with a semblance of humility or pity won't have the strength to say it to someone you relate to and respect.
When the fight starts they both seem excited to see how strong the other is. Then at 2:49 is the moment where I think Saitama realizes that Boros isn't strong enough to hurt him. Man got punched through like 3 giant pillars and the only damage he took is the disappointment of realizing that even now he won't get the fight that he dreams of.
"No edits/annoying visual changes" Fucking thank you. I absolutely HATE IT when it says "full fight" but they end up editing out 90% of the fight anyway and have way too many unnecessary cuts just absolutely everywhere. It's crazy how Boros arrived on earth for the same thing Saitama is searching for. A worthy opponent. Boros of all people actually truly understands Saitama. They're not so different, they're both tired of instantly pulverizing everyone they fight. In the end, Boros got what he was looking for.
I've just realised that at 7:56 Saitama punches Boros so many times in such a short span of time that he literally explodes from the thermal energy. The whole "Cook a chicken by slapping it" is literally what he did to Boros there. That's brutal.
The final conversation between Saitama and Boros was legitimately one of the saddest moments in anime. Saitama knowing he'll never be able to experience a true thrill of battle at least tried to give that feeling to Boros , and yet he wasn't even able to deceive him. The genocidal monster recognized that Saitama was pulling his own punches , therefore robbing our hero of even satisfaction that even though he will never be seriously challenged at least he gave someone else that feeling.
There are two people who can relate to Saitama in a genuine emotional level. He was one of them. Boros most likely also felt bad that he couldn’t give Saitama what he wanted
I really like how the whole fight is set up as Boros being a truly Shonem protagonist who never gives up, breaks his limits and gives his all again and again to beat the invincible opponent. Even the main theme at 7:22 is synchronized with the actions of Boros and not Saitama. Absolute cinema
Someone pointed out as well that the framing shows Saitama above Boros and Boros charging up towards him is a classic villain looking down on the hero sort of positioning. In that moment we’re almost supposed to be rooting for Boros to do what no one has been able to do before - actually challenge Saitama (let alone defeat him).
@@skylerdamaSomeone else also pointed out how Boros is a love letter to Dragon Ball. An alien conquering/destroying planets (Frieza), always searching for a strong opponent. His hair style changes as he get stronger. His two greatest techniques are a Kamehameha and a Kaoiken. (Goku). His Final Attack involves using everything he has left to the point of having 0 energy left (M Vegeta' Self-Destruct).
The thing that's kinda sad is that even though Boros survives multiple punches from Saitama, even staying conscious and alive for a little while after his Serious Punch, Saitama never gets excited for the fight for a single moment.
Not true, just before his serious punch, his heart gives off a loud beat, which is a reference to his dream in the beginning of the series, giving indication that, just like in his dream, he finally met an opponent that could get him a bit excited and needed to be more serious for in order to beat. That's why he's so disheartened when the Underworld King he fights almost immediately after went down in just one punch
I mean, the only reason Boros actually survived a single punch was first his armor and second the regeneration. Even he was one punched by Saitama, which is why he looks so dejected at the end
@@kyrusxi not true bro... Didn't you see how much he interchange blows with saitama... And also the part where his hand came off besides after saitama punched him? And also after the serious punch he was still able to stay alive and talk fr awhile bro..And you can't just take off the healing powers btw because that is what he is specialized in.. saitama held back because he wanted boros to experience the exact thing he was looking for, the excitement of a fight, because he understood how boros felt since being too powerful took away the feeling of exhilaration during a fight *also the music at the end never fails to hit me hard*
And at the very end, Boros realises and you can hear in his voice that he pities Saitama, because he knows what it feels like to become bored. And he knows Saitama is too powerful to ever feel the exhilaration he craves.
When you realize Boros is an allegory for DragonBall characters. -Clothes that Seal off his power -Changing to a different form to gain more power. With a ton of attention going to his hair rising up. -Going into a long winded speech about how much more powerful they are than their opponent. -Going into a monolouge about what kind of drawbacks the power they have does to their body. -Multiple attacks not working because the Opponent is much stronger. -Final attack that is a massive beam that can destroy the whole planet.
FINALLY SOMEONE REALISED!! I always believed Boros was just a Goku rebrand and was designed by ONE and Murata to tell the people that Saitama could beat goku in a one on one fight.
6:26 - 6:57 This is basically a god tier eye sight, and a calculation of propulsion beyond human capabilities. Saitama calculated the energy needed to jump back to earth without destroying the moon and at the same time to pin point the location where boros and his spaceship. With a distance of 384,400km from sight it's like trying to shoot a water-bear.
Interesting realization.. that's true.. not much opportunity is space to correct for directional miss input after launch.. he had to have it right the first time or miss by miles
tbf flashbacks to a tragic past is just a cheap trick to try to gain reader/watchers' sympathy. It is just so common and cliche that I just don't find the flashbacks engaging at all. I will definitely not sympathize with Boros more if they show a cringe flashback. It's definitely better this way
8:47 I just realized. It's not Saitama's fist that killed Boros, IT WAS JUST THE AIR PRESSURE FROM THE PUNCH. Imagine how much more destructive it would be if the fist actually connected a hit.
Not only that, but Boros also had his Collapsing Star, Roaring Cannon shielding him. So, on top of the punch, not even connecting, he also had to punch through a world ending laser beam, which makes the punch even more amazing.
@@proskillet6826 i think its also that boros was severely weakened and tired, and the attack drained all his life force, so I think the serious punch wouldnt really have killed him but he spent all the energy he had and just died

This fight was beyond its time Unfortunately now days not many anime can have this feeling anymore. Too much cgi, too much time restraint for the animators, no breaks and not enough pay. Most families especially Asian families see animators as a bad job and convince children so. Resulting in lacking employment and talents. What more if they make a mistake people would complain about them. Honestly people and companies should treat animators with more respect because they are making art. It’s hard job and bad pay but they can still make such masterpieces.
FINALLY, an anime fan who understands that animators aren't "untalented", they're just brutally overworked, underpaid and often not even being directed to go all out in favor of lowering budgets/tight deadlines. There are tons of anime that are absolutely fire but even they are horrible with the working conditions. This felt like a fight that was given ample time, amazing direction and was clearly very heavy on letting the animation team pop off. Iirc a majority of the animation department for this was freelancers which helped a ton. This why the fight is so damn stylish too! This shit is a banger.
At 8:27 You can hear the same heartbeat that Saitama had in his dream in the first episode, that means that Boros was truily exited for the first time in who knows how many years, it's a feeling that only him and Saitama can understand, this whole fight was a gift Saitama made to Boros since he could have obviously ended him when they first met, instead he held back all the time allowing Boros to go all out like he probably never did before What a kind guy
After watching Saitama vs Cosmic Garou, it really puts into perspective how Saitama could have ended this fight from the very beginning if he felt like it, but only prolonged the battle because he knew how Boros felt and wanted to at least let him have this before dying
at 7:55, after all these years I just now realized he threw that many punches THAT fast, with ONE arm. He made dozens of after images with his punches with one arm enough to turn someone into just blood and guts, all while not thrusting his shoulders forward at all ... Against a being that has pretty much nuke proof skin from what we can tell based off of how powerful he really is. Damn he strong strong
6:24 something i think not enough people talk about is saitama's power control is so precise that all he needs to estimate the power needed to jump back to earth is to just see a how fast a rock falls.
That ending is weirdly poignant, and now I've realized why. You watch the battle with the suspense of whether or not Saitama will get to finally experience the challenge he craves... only to realize that he was only initially intrigued and then disappointed by Boros' power and was only humoring the galactic pirate for most of the battle. He was letting Boros down gently. The sadness of that final exchange is that Boros was the only person who could come closest to truly appreciating just how strong Saitama is... and yet the distance between them is still unimaginable, making this maniacal pirate the only being to truly fathom the enormity of Saitama's power, the depth of his loneliness, and the extent of his decency. In a way, Boros got to know him better than anybody -- by realizing that he couldn't know him at all.
@@egg9709 imagine if Boros pulled a Vegeta and lived to be Saitama’s ally… Maybe he absolutely wrecks someone who would “push the saitama button”(idk if you get the reference) And then when someone really strong comes out he gets happy saitama is there to save the day
If he comes back he'd be forced to get nerfed due to plot progression so no thanks. At least this way, we can imagine him truly being second onIy to Saitma.
I adore the heartbeat and closeup of boros as he is releasing all of his power. Like he is finally able to get what he wants. It feels like a very honest heartfelt moment to me. Like he can finally stop and decide to throw his full self onto something.
4:49 When you see the slight pain in Saitama's eyes. It's like Saitama is asking Boros if he's finally ready for this painful life to come to an end. A life that Saitama knows all too well. I think Boros' slight moment of silence is him realizing this, he chose someone he cannot defeat, but he can't back out now.
I think that's just Saitama being disappointed Boros isn't as strong as he had hoped. I think he got his hopes up from Boros by the way he survived a single punch and even by the way he looks surprised about his speed. But behind that serious face Boros' punches, while incredibly cool visually probably felt like a slight breeze to him.
I definitely think it’s him being bored. From the beginning of this fight to the end, Boros was never truly a threat, up until that point Boros was doing a lot of theatrics a lot of talking and boasting. That’s why Saitama said blah blah blah are you done with this? Because up till now, Saitama was bored not taking this seriously whatsoever and getting tired of it. Then Boros activates meteoric burst, finally taking this fight seriously and doesn’t really boast and just explains how it works but the moment he starts boasting about how it’s a Trump card, Saitama comes back from the moon. Then, when Boris goes all out, Saitama honors him by doing the same. However, it is only up until the very end that borrows figures it out. He thought it was a hard fought battle however, he realizes it wasn’t even a fight to begin with. That’s how strong Saitama was.
I think boros understood saitama is just like him so even boris could endure a figth with released form. He understood. One of them is gonna die and him dont use all . His gonna show saitama all his power
April 26th 2022 and I finally understand how sad this fight is. Boros could have and would have destroyed literally anyone not on par with Saitama. The only person to even come close to Boros at this point is Blast and he is busy doing blast things. (To avoid spoilers) Boros came there too soon, Garou was the one he needed.
I think One answered in an interview that in his imagination Garou and Boros would be right on par with each other. So yeah, Boros would've gotten a much "fairer" fight than what he got here and he would indeed have a chance to come on top.
@BraN - Blast is fighting a being far above Boros all this time he isn't present, it calls itself "God", a being able to manipulate space and time at will, and while its motives remain unknown it is suggested he had a major influence in the creation of monsters and the monster association as a whole.
@BraN - Blast is crazy strong. He can create nuclear explosions with his punches, and create portals to other places and dimensions at will, and is capable of moving way faster than even Flashy Flash. He managed the absolutely absurd feat of withstanding a series of attacks from Cosmic Garou, when Cosmic Garou's mere presence completely incapacitated the entirety of the S-Class. And for reference, Cosmic Garou has withstood multiple Serious Punches from Saitama. Also, Blast is allied with a member of Boros' species.
I liked how bored Saitama seemed the whole time, especially how he seemed sad at the end. Like he realized he's the strongest and no one will come close and how sad that makes him.
@@Khalid_XMC yeah obviously Saitama is way stronger no doubt bt wt I mean is that at least MB has an element of surprise as he is clearly way stronger than the rest although he is still obviously no match for Saitama
8:06 This is the absolute best moment in this fight for me. For the first time maybe ever Boros is facing an obstacle that he can't overcome. Finding an insurmountable wall is the whole reason he went on his journey across the cosmos. The line "I will defeat you!" Holds so much weight in the way its being said coming from a character who has never lost. I honestly can't figure out the correct words on just how inspirational this is, but at the same time how much pity it leaves behind in me. Its a beautiful moment.
great explanation. I get goosebumps every time I watch that fight scene. Boros my all time fav. hero of all time of the animes I've watched so far. watching the whole fight at least once a month. its the free and greatest serotonin for me.
Boros was looking for a fight where both sides would have to put their lives on the line. Where the victor wasn't certain until the end. A true life or death battle. Saitama is beyond that. As Boros said at the end "it wasn't even a battle". It was him venting his boredom against Saitama. He got half of what he wanted. To go all out and put his life on the line. But not the other half, as it wasn't a life or death battle for Saitama at all. As you said, Saitama is an insurmountable wall. Not a worthy opponent. ^^;;
@@jessesmith6824 Yeah, it'd be like expecting a normal car to lose to a sports car in a drag race, but then got surprised when the normal car is actually much much faster than you expect, but it's still slower than the sports car.
5:25 to 6:06 is genuinely some of the best animation i have ever seen, the detail the camera work the movement and the impact frames are perfectly done
7:35 - This is where I get goosebumps from the music. Not because Saitama is heroically beating a worthy foe. This is almost a ballad for Boros. It's a swan song for a creature who tragically feels the need to fight something that cannot be defeated. Raging against the dying of the light.
@@smaakjeks I said in the comment that it was cool even tho you are overthinking it but i thought it would be unnecessary to say that because everyone could understand but... Yeah... Whatever
That's how I viewed the fight, basically agaisnt a Super Saiyan 2 and 3. You could say this fight is a trope on that. Meteroric burst, long hair? Can only sustain for short periods of time? Sounds a lot like SS3.
I don't see anyone talking about how Boros tanked multiple regular hits, regenerated from Multiple Consecutive Punches, and lived long enough after Serious Punch to talk a little. Makes you wonder where he really sits on the power scale.
If god gave him power, he would be stronger than cosmic garou. His base power is simply too high relative to guys like garou. If am to scale, l would say. Saitama > ninja guy>cosmic garou>blast > boros
hey guys i create animation fights, i uploaded a quick video of saitama really serious punch and more is coming check it out : ua-cam.com/video/3sB_ETUVAHY/v-deo.html
What an amazing parallel these two characters share. Both feel that they are too strong for their own good and want to find the one that they can be defeated by. In the end it was Boros that finally made his dream come true, and Saitama walks away almost jelous of Boros’s defeat. What amazing writing.
Saitama wants to do Heroic things, not find someone to be defeated by. Boros is more shounen conscious, striving for rivals and power. Saitam is seinen, more mature, at the end of the cycle of power not the beginning. They do of course share a close bond, and that is why Boros empathized with Saitama at the end and why Saitama was so sad. Not even the Universe's top can make him sweat.
@@Slayerthe1st No in pretty sure he's right, I assume you've only watched the anime, but saitama shows to have some envy towards over characters due to them having what he coins a 'hero instinct'.
I think at the moment when he activated Meteoric Burst, Saitama was legit amazed, because Boros managed to outmatch the speed cap Saitama always keeps, at the moment with the consecutive punches i think Saitama understood that there's no point in being "slow" considering Boros outmatched his usual speed cap, so he just went a few percents higher and rekt him.
To me, i think he was playing surprised; like when someone you know performs a magic trick you know how to do, but you don't want to take away the accomplishment of it, or the type of surprise you have when have to be surprised for a party in your honor, when you already know about it.
@@hehehe88 Personality I think that he's surprised because he's much faster than what Satiamas used to. Since Boros is so much faster than what he usually fights. Like watching a kid lap every one else in a first grade sports day. You could definitely could definitely beat them if you went all out but you are surprised and impressed at how fast he is for his age.
8:26 you can hear the boros sigh followed by a strong heartbeat, as if Boros suddenly got a dose of adrenaline, apparently he found the emotion he was looking for after years of boredom
I think that heartbeat is just saitama because boros going into his meteoric burst formed already said that he felt that adrenaline while saitama only felt a little bit of it
in saitama's dream against the subterraneans, he gets the same heartbeat effect, even the same animation (except boros' one is blue). It goes to show the similarity between the two characters!
This is one of the best anime fights I've ever seen, The animation quality is amazing and the music really adds to the intensity of the battle. I appreciate that there are no annoying edits or visual changes, allowing us to fully enjoy the epic showdown between Saitama and Boros. It's incredible to see Saitama's raw power on full display and to witness the lengths Boros will go to try and defeat him
I know this is kinda based but my favourite Animation to this date was Tengen's last fight against Gyutaro in Kimetsu no Yaiba's Entertainment District arc. The animation was just too good with all the effects, sharp and well drawn textures of the environment and characters. Yet alone all the details of the destroyed buildings make up for it or Tengen's sword reflecting the light during the scene is an amazing detail. Aside from that, Boros vs Saitama is the 2nd best in my opinion. Sadly, Season 2 had no real intense fight and animation as the first season but it was still good. I really cant wait for more fights in future seasons 👍
The last minute scene is beautiful. Saitama wants to not hurt Boros's feelings by saying it was a "tough" fight, but Boros realises that he is lying and had so much of his strength to spare against Boros. Boros understands that Saitama can't enjoy the thrill of battle since he's always on the defensive and never uses 50% of his power. Beautiful.
Now remember kids, Saitama only used his serious punch because they were trading ultimate moves.

Yeah, Saitama probably did empathize with Boros. He probably also felt a sense of true disappointment; here was a being that had travelled the universe looking for *anyone* strong enough to even be fun to fight, yet Saitama was *still* utterly outclassing him.
Boros was so outmatched, he couldn't even destroy Saitama's hero costume. Only the cape got some tears at the edges.

Me encanta que alguien más de haya dado cuenta de eso.
I guess Boros was secretly the twist protagonist all along. That's makes him even more amazing.
It's in this moment you're really rooting for boros. He's trying so hard and you know he can't win 😢
@@homerman76 That was Boros's heart, that scene was there to show how he parallels Saitama.

This felt like a fight that was given ample time, amazing direction and was clearly very heavy on letting the animation team pop off. Iirc a majority of the animation department for this was freelancers which helped a ton. This why the fight is so damn stylish too! This shit is a banger.

4:49 When you see the slight pain in Saitama's eyes. It's like Saitama is asking Boros if he's finally ready for this painful life to come to an end. A life that Saitama knows all too well.
Exactly

@@karimsonsafehold9233 no he doesn’t, the point of this anime is “a hero for fun” he’s bored being too strong, he basically wants defeat
@@Slayerthe1st No in pretty sure he's right, I assume you've only watched the anime, but saitama shows to have some envy towards over characters due to them having what he coins a 'hero instinct'.
No weird or annoying edits. EXCELLENT. You have a new subscriber;)
Even after all these years, I still think this is the one of the best animated fights in anime
Because it is
Why is this best? It wasn't even a fight
Why
@@aharonmercy6433 it looks good
Top 5 i'd say
I think at the moment when he activated Meteoric Burst, Saitama was legit amazed, because Boros managed to outmatch the speed cap Saitama always keeps, at the moment with the consecutive punches i think Saitama understood that there's no point in being "slow" considering Boros outmatched his usual speed cap, so he just went a few percents higher and rekt him.
These two were so fast they finished the fight and no one noticed
To me, i think he was playing surprised; like when someone you know performs a magic trick you know how to do, but you don't want to take away the accomplishment of it, or the type of surprise you have when have to be surprised for a party in your honor, when you already know about it.
@@hehehe88 Personality I think that he's surprised because he's much faster than what Satiamas used to. Since Boros is so much faster than what he usually fights. Like watching a kid lap every one else in a first grade sports day. You could definitely could definitely beat them if you went all out but you are surprised and impressed at how fast he is for his age.
Yeah I think the surprised face is like his “aww that’s so fast for someone so weak” face.
Unironically one of the most beautiful fights in all of anime.
5:52 BRO THOSE IMPACT FRAMES WENT HAAARRRDDDD!
8:26 you can hear the boros sigh followed by a strong heartbeat, as if Boros suddenly got a dose of adrenaline, apparently he found the emotion he was looking for after years of boredom
I think that heartbeat is just saitama because boros going into his meteoric burst formed already said that he felt that adrenaline while saitama only felt a little bit of it
nah fam that was the king engine
in saitama's dream against the subterraneans, he gets the same heartbeat effect, even the same animation (except boros' one is blue). It goes to show the similarity between the two characters!

These little details makes this fight so wholesome. I remember the first time I watched I was routing for Boros. He felt he was the main character.
This is one of the best anime fights I've ever seen, The animation quality is amazing and the music really adds to the intensity of the battle. I appreciate that there are no annoying edits or visual changes, allowing us to fully enjoy the epic showdown between Saitama and Boros. It's incredible to see Saitama's raw power on full display and to witness the lengths Boros will go to try and defeat him
One punch man season 1 has some of the most beautiful animation in anime ( top 3-5 imo).
Season 1 had so many great fights. The fight against the Deep Sea King and the sparring fight between Saitama and Genos were also amazingly animated.
Beautiful.
