Looking inn looking out of jamaica and a love&respect how you did everything about your skillful jobs.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😅 Njoying watching you from jamaica respect ❤😂😅
I was kinda hoping on a slip clutch issue on that first recipro for a more interesting repair ... But yeah you probably know the reason of those leads being in that condition the moment you try to put the machines back in their cases: Great machines but the inlay of those cases are horrible, just not enough space for the leads and the only way you can close the case is when you curl up the lead and even bend the grommet, which is a shame. btw it says HR0870C in the description but they are HM0870C (you said it right in the vid) and thanks for another nice video!
I like how you crimped the leads before you attached them back to the connectors in the saws. Few repair guys would bother, especially since the original leads weren't crimped. 🎉
Did you make a practice to not take down A tool with the same brand?😅 like that m&m commercial.. when they eat their own kind ?😂. Love your vids. The end when you say take it apart , it's broken anyway.... Right on...helped me fix A few tools.
Another thing that can happen.. he or his worker sent in the wrong tool... there was a miscommunication into what was wrong with which tool... or many other variations... but obviously it's just waste of time and time is precious and cost money when it comes to a shop like you are working in Dean it's not charity work although you definitely try to make it easy on your customers because you're a nice guy and I love watching your videos and by the way my middle name is Dean.
I don't know if anyone else is interested but I would like to see some repairs on pneumatic nailer and other pneumatic tools if you repair them too. I have a few of them that could use a little help.thanks
Hey Dean, I think you forgot something, "a dab of grease" 🤣 no really if that company would do more maintenance on there devices (just cleaning it), they would work longer.
Hey Dean do you machine the armature combars on a lathe when installing new brushes? I found you have to machine the armature to seat the new brushes properly and keep it from sparking.
Do these recip saws supposed to cut at 90 degrees or are they for rough cutting only? I had a lidl parkside one that wouldnt cut straight and threw it away as there was no adjustment.
On the first repair, I noticed that the plug had three prongs but there was only two wires in the cable. I am assuming the third prong was a ground; is it legal in Ireland ( or anywhere) to sell a tool which appears to be grounded but isn't?
No, that's common here. We have 2 class or electrical appliances. Class 1 and class 2. Class 1 uses and earth lead. Where class 2 dose not it relies on double insulated cable and no exposed metal parts. All plus 240v and 110v have the earth pin but not all use it. But the earth pin is needed on 240v appliances as the earth pin opens a safety guard inside the sockets covering the live and neutral connectors.
If they managed to run two of these to death in a few years they should probably buy themselves some GSH11Es when the two Makitas are finished. Not saying that these Makita Hammers are crap but obviously they need something really heavy duty.
They could at least try to give their machines a clean to get a longer life out of them, those air vents made me cry ... Also these are light weight hammers, basically the same as the Bosch GSH5. On the GSH11 we're not just talking heavy duty, but heavy machines aswel (almost twice as heavy)
@@ElMariachi1337 I took an interior wall down (all brick) with the GSH5 once. Excellent hammer but I would have went straight for the GSH11 if it was a concrete wall. These smaller hammers arent meant for hammering hard materials like stone and concrete for hours on end.
I'm starting to think that part of the qualification to get any building trade is an in-depth course on how to quickly and efficiently destroy tools!!! 😂 OK, I get that the tools are worked really hard, but my grandfather moved out to Zimbabwe when my mum was 2 and my dad was 3rd generation born in Zimbabwe and we were taught to respect tools because in Africa you couldn't just nip down to the local store to buy a new tool because you had abused your existing one...... that shelf might not have a replacement for the next 6 months!! I've still got my grandfathers original black and decker drills (the ones that could be fitted into a laithe, circular saw, jigsaw, et.,) And they still run beautifully. I was also a self employed handyman for years and my tools NEVER looked like half the stuff you have to repair. I honesty feel really bad for the companies who these tools belong too 😢
The amount of times ive seen people mistreat and neglect their tool on the job cant count it anymore. Some people know nothing about tools and they will work with absolute junk tools looking like complete dipshits or thy break stuff and just keep destroying the tool instead of fixing it. Funny how you can give me Hilti, Bosch, Makita etc and I will never have an issue with it and dont need repairs or a replacement for years while others come in every few months with something broken.
I asked this on a previous video, so sorry for being annoying, but which tool brand would you say is the most commonly defective? I.e. if youre looking for long lasting tools, which brand would you not recommend?
@@deandohertygreaser What a shame since atleast in central europe Milwaukee isnt cheap at all and they aim for the professional commercial market here. Ive spoken to representitives on a trade show and they told me that they dont aim to sell to private customer they want to become like Hilti in a way. I think they are just wasting their time and money here.
Thank you for the long videos with quality camera work and narration.

I think this is the first time I've heard you say I wants to go home! I feel you. Your a hard working guy.
The bit you said at the end about taking it apart and trying to repair it because why not, it's already broken, is exactly what I say to people.
Every time you dismantle Makita product, inside quality absolutely wonderful 😊
Couldn't agree more! Makita tools are a pressure to work on
Pressure or pleasure?
Absolutely love your videos.. spent last night going back through some old ones of yours .. keep them coming
Pretty sweet Dean. Awesome job getting them up and runnin. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the next one!!!
Nothing more frustrating than fixing a problem only to find something else wrong with it Great video as always

Them Makita breakers look really well designed & sealed so they don't get filled with dust & crap.
Proper robust bit of kit by looks of them.

Nice to see how your Channel is growint, I bet this is good for your repair business. What liquid do you use in parts washer?
Cannot understand why they don't supply a written explanation of fault. Seems they want higher charges.
Nice.
Intermittent fault is the worst and hiding multiple faults is the next. When You put the repair together the next fault shows up.

Well worth fitting a new armature as you can see the customer has had plenty of years worth of use out of her.

Is it possible to upgrade the speakers on makita or Dewalt radios to make them louder
It seems Dean took my job with the model names in the title 😅
20€ for 2 Brushes? is that the price only for the Brushes or the whole fix?
