Repairing a bunch of Bosch GSH11E Hammers , number 4 is a shocker.

  • Had a large amount GSH 11 E hammers in for repair this week, so I thought I would do a Bosch GSH11E Repairathon today.
If said it before, and I'll say it again. These are some of the best and most reliable hammers ever made. Bosch has been making this model for 20 years and is still making it today.
Every tradesman here in Ireland must have an 11E in their van.
These are that common and popular that I'm not all that surprised there are copy ones out there.
Number 4 was a first for me, iv never seen a copy bosch hammer before, let alone one as convincing as this one.
But it's obviously isn't cappible of much work if it has broken after such little work.
Let me know what you all think of this one tool dedicated video. If you like it, I'll try to do more than the opportunity comes up.

Long format videos are the best. Your work cannot be boring in any way. Your content is so very educational that it is helping a lot of people (including myself) when it comes to fixing tools. I personally have rented a GSH11E in the past at a cost of 15-20 EUR per day. Last month I bought a used machine that needed a service kit installed and I would have never been able to repair it if it wasn't for your videos. Now I have an excellent machine for a total of 300 EUR with plenty of life left.
    Thank you!

Bosch hammers are the best if you ask me.. Especially the older models.
I have an old USH 10. It’s 30+ years old and still hammering. Not as powerful as the newer models, and it’s quite heavy, but it keeps hammering 🙂 Got it serviced last year at a Bosch dealer, and they said it was like new inside.
Thanks for the videos. I REALLY enjoy everyone of them.

It's the little things that really add to the cost of a tool. Metal instead of plastic, cheeper plastic, cheep fasteners, and little or no heat treatment make a shorter lifespan of the tool. Many big name companies do it for the diy market. Use it once and a while and you're okay. Use it every day and it's junk.

the plumber i worked for had a gsh 11244E that wasnt hammering properly. I never saw it functioning "properly" as they had it siting in storage long before i started working for them. But i elected to take it apart to see if I could fix it, cus theyre expensive tools. Its assembled fairly differently, the gsh11e seems to be much more modular. Never did figure out out what was wrong. Looked through the gearbox and motor and couldnt find any errant wear on the parts. They claimed it wasnt hammering as "forcefully" as expected, but who knows. I reassembled and it seemed fine to me. Kinda random to be recommended this video so long after

On that bocsh seen that before. Its a rebuild not OEM. You get the outisde caseing with it. See that in the states allot. Try to get around the cost of what a new part would be direct from bosch. OEM parts for some machines are cost prohibitive here. So you either throw the whole thing away or you buy aftermarket parts for half the price. Again see it allot here in the states.

Some of the factories at least have the decency to put their own brand stickers on so you know it's a copy and can pay the appropriate price. This one looks like it may have been sold at near full price. If you're going to pay for the brand you may as well go to a registered dealer and get what you've paid for.

The fake machine is fascinating… the amount of effort gone to.. how much are they saving on each machine making the fake? The tolerances are so poor and the quality of metal, it’s a disaster really.
There was such a rush to get into the Chinese market in the early/mid 2000’s that little oversight was put in place. Many manufacturers would build components then offer workers overtime hours, they would then work through the night making fakes using most of the same machinery.

Not in the hands of a professional such as Dean. You obviously didn't notice that he uses the clutch settings appropriately.

Ive used a Makita Impact to mount junction boxes before the trigger is so fine on low you drive the screw in, give it one singular impact hit and thats equal to a screwdriver.
