- This lot of tools came in with the box already modified to hold the mixing drill with whisk attached.
This is the normal bunch of misfits, all that was missing was the milwaukee grinder.
Makita drill DHP482 how to change the brushes.
Dewalt drill DCD796 stuck on hammer mode.
Dewalt nail gun DCN692 clicking but not firing.
Alfra mixing drill won't switch on.

Jesus Dean , your knowledge is on a different level with these tool repairs . These videos are excellent to watch . Manufacturers should listen to you as well 👌👌👌👌
Thanks 👍
If I attempted a repair on any one of these tools it would be broken forever. Much respect, sir.
This guy is just the master, can’t get enough of the vids, just Rip them apart and dump it all on the bench then somehow it’s put back together, baffles me
Makes it look easy brill
that’s what stresses me out I would need it laid out in the order it came out 😂 he is very good 👏🏼
Can't agree more my friend
Dean your videos are inspiring me to fix all my broken tools in the shed.ive kept them all in the hope of one day fixing them .just cant get the time or the peace to do it 😂😂.class work
This is the first 100% fixer I've seen you have. It was rewarding to watch so I can only imagine how it is to accomplish something like that. Must be a great phone call to make especially how cheap the final bill is. No expensive parts used, just expertise.
Great video Dean it’s great too see a man with such high Standard off workmanship
Thanks for the info on the DCN692 and the part number. It stopped working with this same issue. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Nice work, Dean. You kept a thousand dollars worth of tools out of the dump
I can't remember how long ago it was when tool number *20,000* passed though his hands so not thousands of dollars worth of tools but *millions!*
Very good work Dean.
It's good to see even well used power tools being brought back into service.
Nice fixes again! I'm still amazed though how heaps of your repairs come in without any description on what's wrong with them. Ofcourse some of them are obvious, but the ones like that Dewalt SDS drill where it's losing power over time are a lot harder to diagnose with just a quick test and not knowing why the customer sent it in.
34:49 sweet sweet product placement
its not called product placement when its a Wiha tool. Its called, pride of place. 😄
As usual, excellent work. Thanks for the education! Good to know that some lower cost tools (DeWalt drill) still have steel components where needed.
Love the way you just throw parts on to the bench😂
I love seeing somebody who knows what they are doing working 💪
How did you acquire so much knowledge of all types of equipment ? It’s truly amazing to watch Jim k.
Nice one Dean, don’t think I’ve ever seen you make a mistake!!!
Don't worry, I make plenty of mistakes.
Another excellent video
Dean, I really like that new screwdriver set that you have!!!! I'm sure that's a big help on old screws.
Always a pleasure to look at the work of a skilled repair guy. My I ask you for a tip? My makita DBN500 suddenly have less power, the pins no longer driven down in a hardwood 15mm glassing beat.
Tools fixed in this video:
1:22 Makita DHP482 drill | Fault: Problem with starting
4:47 DeWalt DCH253 SDS Drill | Fault: Motor losing power (according to owner)
17:40 DeWalt DCN692 (Type 2) nailer | Fault: Not firing
30:16 DeWalt DCD1196 Drill | Fault: Stuck in hammer mode
52:25 Alfra EHR23/2 (possibly) concrete mixer
Cheers to Dean for telling model number, rather than me doing some CSI investigations.
Are there any tools that you dread comming into the workshop? That are a nightmare to repair?
@@mickymeltdown Sorry mate, Im not Dean, nor I am associated with him. Just average bloke who post this timestamps and model name, if someone has this model and same problem, so he can try to fix it himself.
It's always good to see folk sorting tools as opposed to just chucking them out.
Dean, you are a hoot to watch. Love you accent. I use a "wee bit" a lot and she wants to know where it came from. I tell her Scotland!
Coffee and relaxing Sunday sorted 😊
Great video brother. Love the fact you show the the part costs so we can guage the price difference between fixing and replacing. Just curious how the business side of it works as well. Do you charge by the fix or is there a flat rate? Wouldn't mind seeing some tools you would deem a no-fix based on cost. Cheers
Deja mucho que desear las reparaciones, funciona si pero la acumulación de polvo y limallas en las grasas de lubricación tienen que ser removidas, limpiadas y reemplazadas.
Nice to see you using wiha micro blades
You’re gonna need a new nail board soon Dean. 😂 that’s a fortune in scrap sitting there
Seeing the condition and even the wear on the chuck of that DeWalt drill I just realized I only use 10% of my tool's life before upgrading.
As a homeowner the tools I buy have all paid for themselves at least once over but I certainly haven't used them to make a living.
Whenever i take anything apart i put the screws separate with a bit of paper saying the location, you just unscrew them not giving 2 😂😂😂
The Grease 🙌
Hey Dean, I love the videos! Question - Has the quality of Makita gone downhill since they started producing them in China? To the point that it puts them on par with every other major brand, such as DeWalt, Milwaukee, etc.
To an extent, yes. they are never going to last as long at they use to. But unlike a lot of other brands, makita sell a lot of parts seperatly, so they can be maintained and kept going for years if you want to repair them.
as someone who repairs and works on all these brands. between Milwaukie , Makita, and Dewalt what would you say is the better built or more robust brand.
Care to throw some suggesti9ks / common iasies with dewalts early "aa" lazer levels? Wont power on
Not many of your calibre of not only knowledge but trying to keep the cost down for your customers that is key to many people getting ripped off because we don’t know much respect dean a man after my own heart and it’s better than the telly hehe
I am on the market for a cordless drill, and I was about to get a Milwaukee M18 Fuel, but thank God I found your channel and watched few of your videos about talking that brand. I am now considering Makita or Dewalt but leaning towards the Makit 40V. Can I ask can you if you can recommend a better brand, because now I will get the drill but in the future I would probably get more tools and I want them to be on the same platform.
What is that set of wiha? Screwdriver bit set you are using, they look very good. Great video. Thanks.
Them nailer. Looks pretty complicated ...
I probably couldn't get it back together...
Great work lad keep these long videos far beta
Hi dean, is it the same parts for the DCH133P1 sds as the one in the video? Mine has started to play up🤪
What brand of tools would you say is most likely to break. It seems from your videos it'd be DeWalt first and Milwaukee second but those are also the most commonly bought brands in the UK. What is your opinion on this?
Hahahah don’t even tell you what’s wrong with the bloody thing. Send them a bill for £500 quid and don’t tell them anything 😂
I love the sound of wiping grease on a sweatshirt I won’t tell the wife trust me hehe
Me on the other hand, still stuck with 4 almost stripped screws on my worcraft reciprocating saw trying to find out why it died only after a few runs 😂
Do you recommend buying brushed or brushless tools?
thing is when i look at the toools i always think what arent people keeping there tools cleaner
Interested in the repair costs, is it parts plus time, or parts plus fixed charge? Seems like some repairs might not be worth your time?
Hi Dean how about a contest to win a reman tool guessing how many nails in your test board

My neighbour laughed at me when I used my faithful old ( push up battery ) desalt 18v trimsaw to cut some unistrut, I had a Milwaukee Li-ion battery adaptor he didn’t notice.
Next day on the job he donated me an entire DeWalt kit bag, with jig, recip, grinder and drivers along with a rake of dead batteries & chargers.
I spent a week stripping and cleaning the commutators & brushes , lubed the bearings and RESULT.
We had a fall out when he demanded I return his gift 🤡
For my own Dewalt drill i just remove '' hamering gears ''
Easy repair 😂
Good luck getting parts there all black and decker parts now made bye black and decker and Stanley
Been watching the channel for a few months now and I haven't seen any multitool failures. I'm looking to buy the 18v dewalt multitool as I'm on the platform, is it any good? I can get the solo tool for about 140eur, DCS356. Cheers from Greece.
yes they are quite good. they only failure i normaly see is a broken wire inside.
But this only happens after years of use.
Whats the story with white makitas? Whats the difference?
no difference at all, its just a different colour body. they sometimes make special editing colors
Where are you from mate is it Ireland
Wiha give you some bits? Thats my favorite bit brand
Yes, they sent in 2 interchangeable bit sets. Iv put them straight to work here.
Great video! Can ypi tell me please what type of grease you put in the piston of the dcf253?
I use a heavy bosch gear grease. But any thick lithium grease will do
Love DEWALT ❤
How people let their tools get to this state baffles me! Take a couple mins to clean them every now and then
Other great show Dean thanks for sharing
What brand is you lock tight?
I wont even sell Dewalt to my customers unless they are barely gonna use them. Entry level junk imo
Agreed. Them and Milwaukee are garbage tools.
Yea I noticed a wobble on that bit to
I o cara manja mesmo crânio 💀
Ruim que num tem legenda aqui pro Brasil

Hi Dean ,fantastic jobs ! I am following you whenever I have to sharpen my attention when occasionally I repair my tools . I have a GBH 4 DFE | 0 611 236 703 and somehow after ordering parts for servicing the hammer ,watching your video more than 5-6 times I finally succed to put all together but unfortunately did not work the hammer mode , open again and find out that the Pos 830 - Aandrijflager 1 615 819 022 the outer ring of the bearing was broken. In The Netherlands and probably all over is no more in stock ; And now my question : is it possible to have that part and in case yes , would you like to sell it to me ? The point is I have spent more than 100 euro on parts and now I have to fix the problem ,otherwise is a waste of time and money . Anyway , either cases I am your fan in repairing tools section !
