Our work trucks have the fuel and def on opposite sides. (550 cab-chassis with 2 fuel tanks) Its crazy that this would be so beneficial to some people🤦🏻♂️
That looks substantially easier to remove the intake on the new ones than '19 and older. I had real fun pulling the plastic upper off of mine when I did the DPK.
Funny, I had same issues removing the upper intake! What I learned is Removing all the bolts first , disconnecting the heater hose on passenger side(loosen the retainer bolt on the metal coolant hose side). Pull the intake from passenger side first at an angle. it’s like a puzzle it’s comes out only ONE way. Hope it helps you next time!
The worst is a little bit of water. No warranty, no insurance, no extended warranty. DEF is covered by comprehensive portion of car insurance with no argument.
I actually worked with a guy that had his wife accidently put gas in his 1st gen 6.7 truck. She drove it home that day not knowing what she did. My friend gets in the truck next day and notices it running bad on the way to work and figures out what she did. He drained the fuel tank and changed the filters. Put fresh diesel in it and is still driving it to this day. Never had an issue after and that was 7 years ago.
Would love to see you do the Pusher intake on your truck or another. I saw you mention on their video that they didn't have to drain the coolant on the install.
I don’t know. I know of a 2019 that had a whole jug of DEF two separate times and a half tank of gasoline. All three times it was started and ran. Just drained the tank and flushed. It’s still running good. It’s been like 30k miles since the last time.
So far this last year at work we have had 2 incidents. One guy filled his tank with gas on a 12k mile 2023 F550. $13k in repairs. then a couple months later another guy put 5 gallons of DEF in the fuel tank while running on a 100k mile 2018 F550. $13k in repairs on this one too. Both are experienced diesel techs and they did this to their own service trucks on accident.
These pickups keep getting worse and worse for access to the engine. They should have a tilt hood. Part of the problem IMHO is the firewall they build that wraps up and over 1/2 of the engine

I'm still convinced one of the worst things you can do is add a tuner to a diesel truck. People always make the claim about being able to do light tunes to get just a little more power, or better fuel efficiency, but in reality I've never seen a single person be modest about tuning.
Curious why Ford did 2 things.... Why does the latest version no longer have the big Helmholtz chambers on the intake tube?. Makes easier visibility for sure but wonder if there's more 'sound'? Of course it appears when they reversed their battery relocation decision back to the old orientation, they designed the new air box and seems to me that's when the Helmholtz chamber disappear.
