    Definitely a great schedule to go by. I believe if any truck is carrying large loads or towing loads daily the transfer case and rear diff should be serviced around 50-60k since it is cheap! Many people don't realize how cheap some fluid services even after doing them twice in 100k vs a major component failure because they didn't want to spend 500 bucks on some fluid services.

    Great video. My 2013 closing in on 97k . I have always been on the 5k maintenance schedule. Have the new yellow coolant ordered and will change next week. Thanks for making the videos . My dad was a old Ford retiree , he told me that oil is the cheapest thing you can do for your vehicle.

  • @mikeesposito8439

    👍👍 glad I'm not the only onethinking like this. Just bought my first 6.7 (2020)
    Dumped the oil at 1k after letting her eat. (And she got a set of duratracs because the factory continentals suck)
    Did it again at 5k to get on a 5k(oil) and 10k (oil and fuel) schedule.
    Every 5k I rotate since the crew cab long beds REALLY like to scallop the shoulder treads of any aggressive tire.
    Every fall dump the drive line fluids to prepare for winter. Never had any issues with any one of my previous trucks with that schedule.
    To add to this, 3rd generation fleet mechanic, ford trucks and international junks. Wise words of the old guys, fluids are cheap, hard parts ain't.

    Oil change at 5k fuel at 10k. All require maintenance was done at 100k . And the secondary coolant was changed out due to plug EGR cooler. I told a friend of mind that trick you told me for my EGr cooler. He's doing his this weekend. No more worrying about them EGR bolts. Plus I log all parts and maintenance done in my book. I assume your at bill brown in Livonia, MI.. small world. I am only a few miles from that dealership. I have always wanted a diesel but could never afford one. Now that I can, I worry about the reliability and repair cost due to all of the emissions stuff. If you have a video on this, please let me know. Thanks

    Great video, very informative! I personally like to change my diffs and t case right before and after every winter since that's when I use it the most and when it's exposed to water potentially. I also swapped out my axle u joints with spicers and they don't have grease fittings.

    I noticed you did not mention VC-8. Is it not recommended for use in 6.7s? Also, where can I get those orange things you use to prevent dirt from entering the intake ports when the lower 'plenum' is removed? I believe you said they come on a new replacement engine. As an aftermarket tech, I don't have access to those. I watch your videos religiously. Your dealer-level info is occupational gold to me.

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod  3 роки тому +1

      5k tops or do it on idle time!

    • @08yfz450buck
      @08yfz450buck 3 роки тому +1

      I understand the 5k miles, what im asking is the “self life” of the oil. The truck sits in the garage and will only get ran on average once a month. Should i change it yearly regardless of miles?

      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod perfect! Someone told me if I change my fuel filters too soon I'm not giving them enough time to filter out contamination. I know it's horse hockey, but I'd thought I'd ask in case there was something legit I wasn't thinking of.
