John Lennon October 9, 1940 - December 8, 1980. The Beatles broke up in late 1969. Their last performance was on the roof on the recording studio. On 30 January 1969, the Beatles performed an impromptu concert from the rooftop of their Apple Corps headquarters at 3 Savile Row, in central London's office and fashion district. Joined by guest keyboardist Billy Preston, the band played a 42-minute set before the Metropolitan Police arrived and ordered them to reduce the volume. It was the final public performance of their career. They performed nine takes of five new songs as crowds of onlookers, many on lunch breaks, congregated in the streets and on the rooftops of nearby buildings to listen. The concert ended with "Get Back", and John Lennon joking, "I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we've passed the audition."

John Lennon was a peace loving man, very special and talented. Too me he was the Beatles. George Harrison when he went solo was the same, they both gave us some real messages about Love and peace.
A masterpiece in simplicity, both the song and video. Simple, yet so powerful and heartbreaking. I highly suggest Working Class Hero, Mother, Woman...he had so much PASSION, for everything. RIP John...
John Lennon was the origin of the Beatles. He had a group by a different name. Paul McCartney and George Harrison joined the group. Ringo Starr joined later. The name of the group was changed to Beatles. John and Paul wrote most of the Beatles songs. George wrote fewer songs though he wrote some great ones. Ringo participated a little in song writing. The Lennon/McCartney songwriting team is legendary, one of the best in music history.
Listen to the wheels go round and round. It’s about his departure of the Beatles and living his own life and being a family man. And getting scrutinized for leaving it all beyond and that’s he is crazy for doing it.
Thats Yoko Ono next to him. His babe and many say is the reason the Beatles broke up. Whats wild about artists like this from the 60 n 70s, they didnt have anything to emulate, they were winging it and it was awesome. When you learn about artists like Lennon, tge Beatles, etc., you will want to know and hear more. Turbulent times made great songwriting!

John was a musical genius. He was half of the Lennon-McCartney songwriting duo. Together they wrote the majority of the songs recorded by the Beatles. He was a pacifist. Sadly he was killed by a deranged gunman just outside the building where he and his wife lived in NYC. But his music lives on. Thanks for the great reaction. 👏👏💔🥰
1971, Cleveland, Ohio, 20 years old. Me in my Air Force dress blues, he in his Army dress greens. My first romantic slow dance. I will never forget the moment.
John. So many songs for you to hear. Ballad of John and Yoko (Beatles), Instant Karma (John), Give Peace a Chance (an early type of Rap?) by the Plastic Ono Band. Listen to them all.
John and Paul wrote countless songs together. They were incredible together. John broke the group up when he decided to put his efforts into advocating for peace full time. His wife, Yoko, was a "helicopter" wife. Always going to recording sessions, always butting in, and she even screeched on recordings she made with John. She was not well liked and took a lot of blame for breaking up The Beatles. Please listen to more of their music. There's an incredible amount of great songs.
Hey Shon, I thought I'd suggest a song by "The Beatles", if interested. "The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever" (by the channel: The Beatles) --This song was written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon-McCartney. The song was released on their 1967 and was originally intended to be released on their groundbreaking album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," however, it was instead released as a "Double-A side single" along with Paul McCartney's equally famous song "Penny Lane." The song "Strawberry Fields Forever" was a departure from the bands previous work, it crossed over into the lighter side of psychedelic rock and provided a novel listening experience for the contemporary pop music enthusiast. The song "Penny Lane" would also be a great listen in future. As always, I enjoyed rocking with you. Thanks for sharing. peace out~
This song was about peace and harmony between all humans. No large corporations, institutions, or governments. Simple happiness between all races. flower power 🌼❤❤
Yes! One of the most important songs ever written. But please baby please...you gots ta get this straight: John Lennon was the Captain of the Beatles. Beatle 001. All of the cool people know this. Keep on rocking. We really get a lot out of your reactions. --when Shon becomes more, he has more to give. I was like #1000!
Great reaction Shon! The Beatles are a deeper rabbit hole than Led Zeppelin! So many different phases, styles sounds. Paul and John were the front , I recommend the compilation album One. It is 25 of their top songs. They are much more than that but it’s a good place to start before you go deeper. Mucho Enjoy the Beatles - they are the Pantheon of classic Rock!
Shon, my guy when I saw your thumbnail. I got chills up-and-down my spine. This is my favorite John Lennon song, and as usual, you interpret it with your genius. ❤
Imagine if you can. Beautiful piece of musical history. It seems so simple, but it’s a wonderful piece of musical history. I feel like John Lennon wrote this from his heart. I absolutely love it.❤️✌️🌼
For The Beatles newbies I always recommend you watch their first film 1964s A Hard Days Night. It was and still is critically acclaimed. It's a fun way to learn who was who, their voices and instruments. Paul is always easy to spot because he's left handed so his bass points opposite from John and George's guitars. Ringo is on drums. All four of them sing. George was 19 at the time and as time progressed so did his songwriting. John and Paul wrote most of their songs, but did some killer covers as well. The movie is a great showcase for their earlier songs, and a great portrayal of what their lives were like from 1963 through 1966, when they stopped touring and went into the studio, where they made so many innovations I couldn't begin to list here. Remember, there's no such thing as Beatles music as a category but only Beatles songs. Have fun.
Hi young fella...keep going with John Lennon and the Beatles. its a journey you will not forget. No other band like them and John had such a presence combined with story telling and a rasp in his voice that gave it an edge. Thanks again
This song always takes me back to my childhood I loved that house and walking through that door, I used to go there with my dad when I was little as he used to fix his monkey bikes for him. ❤
With all the wars going on around the world over religious differences, land, political ideologies, and tens of thousands dying everyday from starvation, the solution would be to use the world's resources for peace, unity, kindness, compassion and humanism. Stop the cruelty, killing of others, feed the starving, house the homeless instead of the the billions spent on weapons and killing, let's use our resources to live in peace and help humanity thrive and survive. We have to share this planet with others with the only life we know we have. Let's live in peace. J. Lennon was an idealist and humanist.
Probably the most philosophical song of all time, real philosophy, real wisdom...Just his song titles alone are philosophical AF: All You Need Is Love Revolution Give Peace A Chance Instant Karma Power To The People Imagine War Is Over (If You Want It) Whatever Gets You Through The Night
THANK YOU SHON FOR REACTING TO THIS ONE I THINK THAT EVERYONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE THIS SONG AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIVES!! I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT IF EVERY WORLD LEADER OF ANY KIND, WHETHER IT BE LEADER OF A COUNTRY OR LEADER OF A GANG, SHOULD BE MADE TO SIT DOWN AND LISTEN TO THIS SONG ENDLESSLY, UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY COMPREHEND THE MEANING OF THE WORDS!!!😮 ONCE THAT IS ACCOMPLISHED, I BELIEVE THERE IS A GREAT CHANCE FOR WORLD PEACE!!!❤❤❤

The Beatles was John's band, he was the leader until he lost interest and left the band, although it was not publicly announced at the time. Without him there was no point in continuing and they broke up.
Lennon was a great song writer that every song he sang had so much great meaning especially now when I hear some music makes me ball . Listen to songs with his wife Yoka Ona and that’s why he left the Beatles.

What took you so long!!! Welcome to the rabbithole. I watch you every day 😊
Lennon was a legend among legends. Taken way too soon. What would the 80s be like with him?
I can't Imagine you never heard this. Sad that he's gone. It makes me so happy that many people from your generation are discovering music from my generation.
Also, Lennon’s “Woman” is a beauty too.
Wow, You are going to go on a journey. PEACE MAN
John and Paul were the main Beatles member--they wrote the great majority of the songs and sang most of the leads.
This is probably my favorite song of all time! Thanks for playing!💖🙏🏻 the message came from his fight against the war in Vietnam, but as you saw, it works for nearly any situation. Lol, when you don’t know who yoko is, we know your history of the Beatles is extremely lacking 😂she got blamed for the breakup! But if you look at the documentary on Disney of them recording their last album, they all outgrew each other.
Beautiful song that goes very well with globalization and the new world order. So 🤮
He's singing about a world of of no one going hungry. Everyone helping each other to live and lopeople. Nipeople, not worrying about. Possessions, there's no wars, no racism.
No homeless, a world of everyone. Just loving their fellow human beings, what an amazing world.
A great artist and person gone way to soon! Thank you for reviewing this beautiful song. It was a very sad day when he was murdered.
You are going to love the Beatles😊! The Beatles/I Saw Her Standing There. This is one on their 20 #1 hit singles in the USA!😮😊+an additional 13 top 10 hits between 1964 and 1970😮😮😮😮😊!!!! That's 33 top 10 hits in 7 years😮😮😮😮😊!!!!Enjoy Loud!
You da BEST, seriously. Lot of good reactions out here and I've seen many but yours blows the others away. Great job again!
John Lennon was a peace loving man, very special and talented. Too me he was the Beatles. George Harrison when he went solo was the same, they both gave us some real messages about Love and peace.
Thank you ❤
The symbology of Yoko opening up the light in the room as John sings of opening up the minds of his listeners is wonderfully over the top.
A profound and simple plea that unfortunately so many can't imagine.
Yet they somehow keep getting elected.
I’m a dreamer , enjoy your dive into the Beatles!
A masterpiece in simplicity, both the song and video. Simple, yet so powerful and heartbreaking. I highly suggest Working Class Hero, Mother, Woman...he had so much PASSION, for everything. RIP John...
As always Shon I love your reaction to one of the most iconic songs in American music history
This song brings a tear to my eyes every time I hear it…still 😢
John Lennon was the origin of the Beatles.
Just like starting over is a really great song❤
Watching you brightens my day!
A beautiful song...PERIOD!
Check out George Harrison’s while my guitar gently weeps, he was a Beatle and a great guitar player and songwriter.
❤Love this song ❤❤...John Lennon ❤❤❤Very Deep song relevant for today ❤❤❤❤Good reaction ❤❤❤
Please review the BEATLES live version of HEY JUDE on the David Frost show UK tv show. This encapsulates all that is great with the BEATLES.
Great reaction and understanding of the message.
Jump in Shon...the water is so FINE. You don't know what you're missing :)
PS you are my ABSOLUTE favourite reaction-ist
🌸 John was not only an amazing songwriter, he was an amazing human.
It is that simple. Humans have a way of making it hard.
The fundamental truth of this aspirational song is in direct proportion to its simplicity. Absolute masterpiece 🎶🎶
Beautiful song my favorite by John. You might want to try Give Peace a Chance. Great reaction.
Love ❤ John Lennon (RIP)and Love❤ George Harrison(RIP) I would like you to jam My Sweet Lord by George Harrison he also is one of great Beatle 💯Thank you 🥰Love your show, and you❤Rock on and Rock hard 🤘🎧💯🎙️🙏🦾✌️💎📀🎉
My favorite song , ever.
If we got rid of all the religion, politics, and material things maybe then we could all get along. Love this song. Great reaction!! 🙂
A masterpiece, for sure.
Thanks for sharing. peace out~
John Lennon and Elton John together doing "I Saw Her Standing There" is great.
I'm sorry, how can this be the FIRST time hearing this song. It is one of the most ICONIC songs of all time, of any genre.
The inspiration for this song came from a poem his wife, Yoko Ono, wrote. Her name was finally added to the songwriting credits.
I absolutely love it.❤️✌️🌼
Instant Karma is my favorite Lennon song ✌💖☮
I wish everyone in the world did what he says in this song. The world would be a less complicated, divided, and dangerous world. RIP John. xx
He was killed for his beauty and love! "Some say he was a Dreamer"but he wasn't the only one!!
Have fun.
The Greatest Lyrics Ever Written..... PERIOD.
John Lennon…. Most Important Person In Modern Music History. “The Beatles"…. Greatest Musical Group In History. Nobody else even comes close.
His songs were a soundtrack to a decade . But he was thoughtful and philosophical too .
John promoted peace in a time of war. He was a man of peace and equality. RIP 😢❤
Hi young fella...keep going with John Lennon and the Beatles. its a journey you will not forget. No other band like them and John had such a presence combined with story telling and a rasp in his voice that gave it an edge. Thanks again
Go back to 1964 listening to the Beatles to appreciate how they continuity grow as artists.
Probably the most philosophical song of all time, real philosophy, real wisdom...Just his song titles alone are philosophical AF:
All You Need Is Love
Revolution
Give Peace A Chance
Instant Karma
Power To The People
Imagine
War Is Over (If You Want It)
Whatever Gets You Through The Night
THANK YOU SHON FOR REACTING TO THIS ONE I THINK THAT EVERYONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE THIS SONG AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIVES!!
I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT IF EVERY WORLD LEADER OF ANY KIND, WHETHER IT BE LEADER OF A COUNTRY OR LEADER OF A GANG, SHOULD BE MADE TO SIT DOWN AND LISTEN TO THIS SONG ENDLESSLY, UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY COMPREHEND THE MEANING OF THE WORDS!!!😮
ONCE THAT IS ACCOMPLISHED, I BELIEVE THERE IS A GREAT CHANCE FOR WORLD PEACE!!!❤❤❤
I became an Outspoken Atheist after hearing these brilliant words when the song was released. Thank You John Lennon. Best thing that could have happened for me.
The Beatles was John's band, he was the leader until he lost interest and left the band, although it was not publicly announced at the time. Without him there was no point in continuing and they broke up.
Man you get it. You're so smart, and that's why I love hearing you speak that wisdom.
He was all that an amazing writer When this song came out I have carried the lyrics in my wallet for years and years it is my bible verse 💕🤭💁🏼♀️🇨🇦
MOTHER, Plastic Ono Band is a perfect album.
John really knew how to write a memorable song although I do hope there IS a heaven & that John & George are up there still jamming.
Lennon was a great song writer that every song he sang had so much great meaning especially now when I hear some music makes me ball . Listen to songs with his wife Yoka Ona and that’s why he left the Beatles.
