Points left out after editing these sessions: They know what John meant by those lines about religion, I shared what I learnt from one of John's interviews in which he said he means Imagine no such things that divide us all based on religion. I didn't mean to tell them what the song is about but rather what they think of the lyrics themselves. Muharam has come a long way, we all can agree on what he said about Yoko putting out those blinds. I'm so glad I didn't only told them how to paint but also how to think as an artist. As Ustad Bob Ross would say, this is your own world and you can chose what goes into it, IMAGINE. Peace ya'll 🙂
I always took those lines to be about the institution of religion as a political force in the world. Individual spirituality and faith are set apart as a personal philosophy and way of seeing the world. I think for the most part these men understood that.
Thank you for this wonderful video. I love everyone in it, and their compassionate and tolerant tone. Although we are not of the same religion, it is refreshing to see such tolerance and understanding from everyone. On religion in this song, I think rather than saying there "is no heaven or hell" or religion "should not be", John Lennon is simply saying imagine IF that were the case and people were simply loving for its own sake. It would be like a parent wanting their child to be good because they see the wisdom in it, and not just because of fear of punishment or desire for reward. Even with that wisdom, it does not mean there cannot also be a parent. Peace and thank you for what you do!
I think that John Lennon with this song means ... how beautiful and more simple life is if don't exist religion, possession etc. all things that ties and bound our lives. But, even, he's imagining, he know it's a dream. Sorry for my english, I'm italian. Your channel is amazing, love you all beautiful people ❤
This is such a thoughtful and respectful discussion. I wish the internet could be like this, where we can disagree with each other respectfully, while still recognizing we are all human and deserve basic respect and love as human beings, and that we are all entitled to what works best for us without bothering anyone else.
I was nodding as I read your comment when it occurred to me that, maybe, the Internet reflects the real world accurately. There are a lot of terrible things, people can be incredibly cruel to one another, and yet, if you seek it out, you will find beautiful things -- like this channel, say. For all its downsides, I never would have "met" people from such distant cultures without it -- text just isn't the same. We're all so different, and yet, so similar. This channel's especially nifty. As I savour the bits of wisdom these guys will say, I'm admiring the colours of the room, it's decor, their clothes (well hell, I can be a child sometimes).
@@1michelemichele1 You are a 100% correct. And this phenomena has really reinforced my belief, that once you scrape away surface impressions we are all remarkably alike. Maybe one day we will learn a way to celebrate the things that bring us together rather than focus on the things that divide us
@@1michelemichele1I know this is 2 months later but I really like the part in your comment about seeking out the beauty in the world .. with everything going on right now (I’m sure your aware) I haven’t been able to find anything beautiful about this world or us as humans .. for the past year and a half and especially now I’ve felt incredibly hopeless and depressed about the future and the current times we are facing .. how can we be so cruel and show such hatred ? Maybe I need to seek out the beauty more of the world to see that there is still hope left.
What a lovely discussion about this song! Even if they didn’t agree with every line, they were so polite and respectful about the things they disagreed with. And everyone got on board with the main message of peace and unity. I’m sure John Lennon would be so happy to see this happen! 🤍
Thank you for your video. I think it´s important to know Lennon was not against religion, he himself was a spiritual person and explored religions such as Buddhism. In this song I believe he´s expressing frustration with things that divides human beings (money, nationalism, religion), and all the violence it causes. So he´s saying imagine if non of that existed, could we live in peace then? Of course he understood there actually can´t be a world without money, nations and religion, but if we only imagine it for a few minutes, then maybe we can focus on what unites us human beings instead of what divides us. It´s a song for peace. That´s my interpretation of what he´s saying.
His religious beliefs were somehow pantheistic. And I think he wasn’t a communist either, he criticized communism in songs like Revolution. He had more like an anarchist political point of view.
@@RJ-ho8pn No, he wasn’t. He used to contradict himself a lot and that song “God” was just classical John being edgy. He was clearly a spiritual guy, since he wrote songs like Tomorrow Never Knows, Across The Universe, Mind Games and a bunch of songs based on Buddhist and Hindu beliefs. He talked a lot about the Bardo Thodol, the karmic wheel and literally the chorus of one of his most famous songs said “Jai Guru Deva, Om”, and said the next in an interview: “I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.”
He was against religion as a whole and, as a lot of people do, separate religion and spiritually. One example is the previous comment about Buddhism. Buddhism isn't a religion, it's a philosophy. Big difference. Islam and Christianity, those are religions and organized ones at that. Atheists like me don't want to prevent people from having their beliefs, we simply wish the same as America's Founding Fathers: that everyone is free to practice their own religion even if that includes not having one. The issue is when your religion dictates my actions or freedoms. Then, we have a problem that even Jefferson would disagree with.
@@RJ-ho8pn. And there are days when I feel exactly like that …. It’s called having a positive day or a negative day …. So Unless you have walked in his shoes you know nothing !!!!
@@512ChaosBut I think generally it’s considered to be 8 years because it’s the period of time they released records. I also don’t think they officially split until 1970.
Imagine is about constructs that divide us. People have killed because of country, people have killed because of religion. If the things dividing us are removed we have peace, a beautiful thing. I appreciate the thoughtful discussion in the video.
Salam to our Brothers in Pakistan. Thank you for being tolerant and open minded. If half the world had your integrity and common sense we would all be much better off.
IMAGINE is an amazing song. John Lennon was ahead of his time. Thank you for playing this song and for sharing your reaction/discussion with all of us. Words of wisdom translate to all languages. #NotMeUs I love each and every one of you! ✌🏽☮💗🦉
When I was a young Muslim teenager, I remember watching a Fundementalist youtube video accusing John Lennon as a satanist and Illuminati member because I was obsessed with eschatology and wanted all the conspiracies to be true to convince myself that my religion is true. Now, looking back as a young adult I cried after realizing I was brought up and conditioned so all the ill natured misinformation was targeting peace loving, proggressive people. I even remembered reading a free book published by an author of the Flat Earth community I got from a welfare convention (that somehow got into Malaysia for some reason) which had a few pages that mentioned that Carl Sagan is a devil worshipper and that Iblis gave him the knowledge to breach the sky to go against God. I gobbled it all up so easily without an ounce of critical thinking or doubts because I was scared of being judged by god for thought crimes. Then, at 25 years old ,I realized I'm an atheist.
19:43 Thank you for you video, I’m Paul from New Zealand & have enjoyed the open discussion, this has made me feel connected with your culture and am grateful for that!
My Dad remembers exactly where he was when he had heard John Lennon passed away. He was 19, almost twenty working in a hardware store. When he heard the news he started crying and his boss was making fun of him for it. Even though we aren't close, music is something that can help us have a pleasant conversation. I think they hit the nail on the head there, we shouldn't take someone's thoughts to personally. Granted if they are saying actual mean cruel things but if their words don't speak about cruelty and hurt, we shouls just listen and then decide for ourselves what we want to do with what we learn.
It's the kind of thing you never forget. I was in college at the time in upstate New York; John Lennon was living downstate in New York City. The news came just as the nightly late newscast at 11:30 pm was going off the air. "This just in: John Lennon has been shot. The Tonight Show is next. Good night." Show theme plays] It happened so quickly, and was so unimaginable, that you didn't trust your ears. You didn't trust that you'd actually heard what you thought you'd heard. There was Johnny Carson on the TV, doing his monologue, everything was normal, but no, it wasn't normal. The Earth had just tilted on its axis. More news started to come in. They broke in to say that John Lennon had been taken to a hospital, and then again that he had passed away. And this time hearing it clearly, you still couldn't comprehend, that this man, who so wanted peace, had been shot to death outside his own apartment building. And then, all over the campus, one by one, people started playing their John Lennon records in their dorm rooms. You could hear this cacophony building as more and more payed tribute and found solace the only way they could, with his music. And this went on all night. I think people even came out and started singing "Give peace a chance." And of course, somebody high up in the central tower dorm turned their mega speaker out onto the quadrangle and played Imagine, over and over. And that went on for a very long time. It was indeed a very sad and memorable time.
May these Gentlemen's God bless them all & keep them safe, they perfectly understand Johns peaceful message even though not fully agreeing with some of it. If only our leaders and politicians watched and learned from these individuals.
John Lennon was 5 years old when the Second World War ended, he seen the devastation of bombs dropping from the sky seen soldiers returning crippled physically and mentally. As did most rock groups from the 1960s
I was born in the north of England same place as John Lennon seen the same hard ships of life and had the same education, and lived in Lahore later. Our fathers hated war and religion because they seen the horrors and hate it did. We know religion is NOT the answer to this world problems, I WAS VARY LUCKY I TRAVELED AND LEARNED TO EXPERIENCE THIS WORLD AND ALL ITS PEOPLE, TO TRAVÈL NOT TO VIST AND SEE WONDERS OF THE LAND IT IS TO LIVE WITH OTHER PEOPLE, LOUGH WITH THEM, UNDERSTAND THEM SHARE WITH THEM, AND EVEN CRY WITH THEM, THEN YOU LEARN TO LOVE THEM, I did that in Pakistan, John did that in America when the they was fighting in Vietnam!
Thank you for sharing this song. This is my favourite song and I wish every human could hear it. This was a great video and I appreciate everyone's opinion on it. ❤
"The most beautiful thing in the world is simplicity and it is very much appreciated almost everywhere" Wow. Love that line. Lennon never says there is no God. He says Imagine there isn't. part of understanding someone else's view is to stand in their shoes - to "imagine" what it's like to be them with their views. You don't have to have their views - just understand them and accept them. "Imagine no religion" can also mean imagine there is only one religion so people have no reason to fight over their beliefs. Same result. Most of the imagining in this song is imagining there is no reason to fight and only reason to love ALL your brothers and sisters. No country, no possessions, no religion, no hunger. Most beautiful lyrics ever for me. Love you guys. Especially the oldest gentleman, sorry don't know his name. God, I would like to meet him.
I completed agree. He is so very wise. The youngest one is much more dogmatic and rigid. That frightens me in anyone, but even more so in a religious person.
Love the assessment of this song by the gentlemen. Well done, guys. Adnan, really excellent video. I really enjoyed all 3 of their perspectives, but Abdul is a treasure. I would love to see a portrait of him done in the same style as the imagine graphics. And maybe "imagine" written in Balochi. Juuuuuust an idea 😉
I always felt that the message of this song is about these things: countries, property, religions, armies, afterlife that these are all fences built by man. This cup belongs to me, not to you. Now the cup belongs to you, and I cannot have it. This is a construction by people. You cannot see who the cup belongs to with the most powerful scientific instrument. The idea of the cup as owned by someone to the exclusion of another persists only because we choose that this idea persists. The moment that we forget the idea, it disappears in a way that is not true of things like if it is heavy or hot or broken or red or green. The division of your country, my country or your cup, my cup are not from nature. It is a reminder that such walls are only as solid as we want them to be. If we don't like these walls it is in our power to tear them down or move them or create new ones. It is a reminder that when we see suffering or injustice or inefficiency or pain that we cannot say "of course this person will go hungry, the food belongs to someone else, and that cannot change" or "of course this man will shoot the soldier of another country, those areas are at war, it must be" because we are reminded that these walls between "it is his" and "it is hers" or "Pakistan" or "India" are necessary for this problem to happen in the first place. Only that we allow the division to exist can there be fighting across the border. But these fences of ideas we give too much power by believing they are not able to be changed. It is not necessary to erase all divisions. Just to picture in your mind that they might be erased is enough to remember that change can happen. By remembering this even small changes are possible. The fence can be shorter. The wall can have holes. The world can be happier with changes to these walls because you can imagine that the wall is not as strong as you are. I don't think the song necessarily is about not having religion or that there are luxuries around. I think the song is about stripping away the excuses that stand between the world today and a better one. Think of a world where any negative thing can't be followed back to an excuse "of course he is miserable, he is a different religion" or "of course he is miserable, he is on the other side of a national border".
Thanks gents for this, from a Christian Scottish guy, who's reading the Qur'an for the second time, I'm 62 years old & was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's when I was 59 yrs old, I've just found your beautiful channel yesterday, I've subscribed, I feel like you are my family, there's an old Scottish saying, " There's no pockets in a shroud " , which means, we come into the world with nothing, and we leave with nothing, blessings from Glasgow.
I love how the men understand the gist of the Imagine video (Yoko letting light into the room and into John's heart) without understanding the lyrics ❤ John's key message in this song was that it's wrong for ppl to kill in the name of religion, and how much better the world would be if we lived in harmony 😊
@@francoiseprecheur2222 Of course he made it clear that this is about killing. What do you think "peace" means? Peace means the absence of senseless killing. That is literally what the whole song is about. The reason he spoke of religion is not for some atheist agenda to deny god, but because religion is a reason people kill for. Thus, the tells you to imagine if there was no such reasons to kill for. Very simple. Further, if you only value life and other people because of religion, then how good of a person are you really? It is more likely you value your life less because you think of an afterlife. That is why he sang about there being no heaven and hell - rational people value life far more because it is the only life they believe in. Which is to say, even if a religion teaches love, it still gives avenues towards blind obedience. That's why religion is one of the only things that can convince an otherwise rational person to commit wickedness like blowing themselves up. You can teach love and tolerance without faith, so why involve god in that unnecessarily? Are you only willing to be good if you are promised an afterlife?
Love this! 🥰💕 John Lennon was a legend! I remember the moment I heard he was killed on the radio, I stayed awake all night in total shock and stayed home from school the next day, I knew it would be a historical moment😢 Is that the same Imagine sticker I sent to you? 💖 if it is, I’m so happy you have it in your studio! 🤗 🙌 love to you all!
Hey, long time no see lol. Yes Angela, it's the same sticker that you sent. Thank you for that, I also quoted the other sticker you sent "Wether you think you can or you can't, you are right" to our guys.
Only if I could have remembered to bring that music box you sent while recording this video. I totally forgot about it at that instant and remembered about it afterwards.
I hope more and more people are reached by your videos and receive them well. I am so grateful to hear all of your tribespeople through these videos expressing their thoughts about not just the music, but their lives, what they hope for, what struggles they have, everything. I will be setting up donations to help as best I can with this content continuing to be created. Thank you
Thank you for facilitating this and for all the work that goes into publishing this content. It is a poignant medium and method to not only glean insights of 'our' (international cultural) differences but of our similarities. Such an apt song choice for thus.
The older gentleman with the white beard just made me break down in tears .. “why cant you and I have different opinions” .. this world we are living in right now is so hateful and division is strong. I don’t know if it’s being done to us on purpose by people in power but it feels like we are being forced to be divided from one another and I hate it. This man’s comments gave me a bit of hope and comfort that I have needed greatly for many months and hope. I pray there are more people like him in this world because we desperately need their kind understanding souls while going through this madness of life. So happy I found this channel. Truly bless you all.
This is absolutely beautiful that such different cultures around the world can all experience and connect over these very common human things. Fantastic channel.
This was super deep and awesome. I love what a sophisticated view everyone has on these things. Even christians in my own country would take offense and be angry. Im glad to see that some people still believe others have the right to their own religion, thoughts etc.
Very nice video! A thoughtful and enlightening discussion too! It is very interesting to see what people from different cultures think of songs and videos such as this.
Everytime i rewatch this video, it brings me such hope. Adnan, i appreciate you and all the people in these videos ive watched for so long now. I wish you all could visit me in my small town in Canada. Much love.
very interesting conversation, totally changes my preconceived ideas, and made me more acceptable of other peoples. like the beatles said ,all we need is love!!!
I am truly blessed to have found your channel. I have watched 4 episodes in a row and have been so impressed and deeply moved. Thank you for your insights of you and your guests. There is much wisdom to be shared together. ❤
Also, I only just discovered your channel today and I don't regret it. I truly appreciate the way you explain the meaning of songs to the non-English-speaking members of your panel!
watching from Scotland. love these reactions..very informative also about the back ground of the sing etc.i wish more reaction videos would do the same. thankyou ❤
That is such a beautiful, thought-provoking tune, and these gentlemen’s honest and thoughtful reactions to it were fascinating and very existential, imo. 🪷🦚
They seem about half way there. They recognise every motive for conflict for what it is except the one they're most invested in. I know you don't like to guide their thoughts too much, but it potentially would've helped them to know he was essentially killed for megalomania and vanity by a mentally unstable man, rather than because he proposed a thought experiment of a world without religion.
Thank you for getting their input on this song. Its been one of my favorites as a kid. Im not a religious person, and I dont hold anyones reliolgion against them unless they try to force it upon me. But their pure feedback, hearing this song for the first time, I wish everyone else felt. Stop the fighting in the world, live like we are all brothers and sisters, even though the state of the world today that would be impossible. Even if you dont agree with certain parts of the song, there is much more to it that can make us all dream of a more peaceful, happy world. I think if John was alive today, he would be sickened with the way it is now.
An amazing reaction, so wonderful to hear their different perspectives on this song. I wonder if the gentleman in blue has heard the “The Drowning Man” ( below) I see this song by Lenon, Gandhi, Mother Teresa and others throughout history and now who advocated for peace in this story. The Drowning Man A fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help. Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, “Jump in, I can save you.” The stranded fellow shouted back, “No, it’s OK, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me.” So the rowboat went on. Then a motorboat came by. “The fellow in the motorboat shouted, “Jump in, I can save you.” To this the stranded man said, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.” So the motorboat went on. Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, “Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety.” To this the stranded man again replied, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.” So the helicopter reluctantly flew away. Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, “I had faith in you but you didn’t save me, you let me drown. I don’t understand why!” To this God replied, “I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?”
Wonderful reaction from their hearts. I love this setup where you’re sitting with them too having tea. Keep up the wonderful work! ❤❤ Oh. I am from Ireland and I would like to suggest Sinéad O’Connor’s - “Nothing compare to you” where the video is the one of her face up close, the official video. So touching to see the reaction. R.I.P. to Sinéad, she’s greatly missed ❤❤
This video, like all your videos, is so wonderful to watch. I'm sure many of your viewers are from western countries where there is a very widespread misunderstanding about Islam, caused by some extremists who have done terrible things. Many westerners assume that all Muslims desire to force their religion on the world (but of course, Islam teaches the opposite). I have never known a Muslim person who wanted to force Islam on anyone (though I have known many Christians who do exactly that). It's always so lovely to watch you all have these calm, respectful discussions, even about something you might disagree with on a fundamental level. I will share this video with friends and family in America who do not have any experience with Muslim people, and who only base their ideas and opinions on hateful stereotypes. In the end, we are all human beings first, no matter how different the details of our lives are, and the more we see of different types of people, the more we can understand and love each other instead of trying to divide ourselves based on countries, religions, and the color of our skin. Thank you as always for all the work you put into these videos. They always make me feel happier. 💖 By the way, one small thing that made me smile: in many sign languages around the world (used mostly by deaf people to communicate), the sign for "same" is exactly the gesture Chacha used when explaining that we are all the same: the two index fingers on each hand, extended and pressed together on their sides. It makes me happy to think that this symbol of "same" is so universal.
I just recently thought that this would be a wonderful song for your channel. It also is probably my favourite song ever. As others pointed out, the lines about "what if there's neither heaven or hell" means that people would focus on making life good for everyone here on earth. No countries or religion, etc. means, that in our world there are many who commit atrocities in the name of patriotism or religion. I belief, no good, honest person, religious or not, would disagree with that. Thank you for sharing this - once again - interesting and respectful discussion with us.
Thank you for sharing this video and also the enlightening conversation. Americans rarely do this anymore. We have opinions about all manner of things, but we don't listen to each other much anymore, especially if we don't share the same views. Communication (peaceful conversation and the sharing of ideas) are a lost art form. "Imagine" is a thought-provoking song, as music and poetry are universal languages to express the human condition.
My first time experiencing this channel. I really loved it. I am so impressed by opinions of other peoples. Your guests are very smart and very enlightened. John was expressing the ultimate dream for humanity. He wasn't against any religion but was just saying "Imagine" . Loved this, thank you again :)
Thank you so much for your video. So illuminating. Love the deep philosophical discussion about Lennon’s lyrics. Busts many stereotypes. But of course, anyone who has travelled knows there are inquiring minds everywhere and we have a shared humanity. Thanks for showing people, the world over that this is the case.
Old man 21:00 lost his nerves when Lennon sings: "there´s no religion" and he meant that people are one when religions or prejudices don´t separate us no more. Fact that we are same family of planet earth. Only man "who don´t know what he´s talking is that old man.
I love these guys. They are so pure of heart and wise. They also seem to have a great love for humanity and peace. The rest of the world could learn a lot from them. I found their channel by chance this evening and already find myself becoming addicted to it.
Such open minds - I love this cross cultural channel; breeding understanding, fellowship and "we are the world".... Despite the vast cultural differences, that they understood the intent Lennon had for a "brotherhood of man" - and such wisdom, compassion and respect on display, it's beautiful to see. Thank you for another wonderful video! It's wonderful and heartening, you deserve more recognition 😊
I teared up at the end of this video. So much wisdom and insight. Just subscribed to this channel. Came over because of Behavioral Arts channel. So glad I did. Now I'm binge watching the videos.
I've been watching a couple of your videos. It's very interesting hearing people from different cultures react to western icons I've grown up with. You've got some very wise guests, I enjoy all of their takes and they've all got some interesting perspectives. Also always nice to see a contentious subject as religion being handled in a respectful manner even if people disagree.
"Brotherhood and peace amongst people", I could not have said it better myself. You have a lovely channel here, I am so happy to see people expand their worldly knowledge through music!
What a great video. John was speaking about the exact things that they were talking about. He was using “imagine” in a sense for everyone to just love one another. Very good interview. I enjoyed it.
This has been my lifelong favorite song... John was just trying to say. Imagine if we could get rid of all the things that separate us. All the things that can cause war Imagine all of us living in Peace as a a brotherhood of man.. John...I still wish we could all live in peace.. We are not the only ones. Rest in Peace beautiful soul...You left your mark
These are great videos, the way they discuss and interpret the songs so intelligently and without cynicism is so refreshing, they seem like good honourable men without the big egos we see so much of today.
Thank you for this. It is a favorite song of mine. And it has so much meaning, especially these days. We all need to be at peace with each other and express genuine love for another. Afterall, you dont have to know somebody to love them as brothers and sisters, Unconditionally.
John met Yoko at an art exhibit where she had placed her art on the ceiling with a ladder and a magnifying glass, when you read it, it said "yes." I think that the misgiving about the religious aspects of the song doesnt include the perspective of the harm that religion does, in spite of it's express purpose of spirituality. John's death was at the hands of a mental patient who was jealous of John's success (in contrast to his own failings)
the killer was obsessed with a young tennis player and sought to impress her by this wicked action. she was of course horrified. he sought fame by doing it. it was nothing to do with john lennon's words or works, just that he was a famous person
John also explained more... He half-expected to climb the ladder, pick up the magnifying glass, and read some vulgarity or statement of irony. Instead, he read "yes," a message of hope and positivity. It really moved him.
You're missing an important point, John Lennon didn't say there's no God, or countries, or get rid of your possessions, he said IMAGINE that these things that can divide us don't exist, that's all!
What a brilliant interview. To hear the tribal people talking about Feudalism as a living breathing system of government which they feel comfortable living within. Understanding this helps us understand how we can live in better harmony ... thank you for an amazing insight.
T.U. Brilliant footage, bringing us together with understanding, love and communication. These honourable men are commended on their respect for all organic human Soul's. As we have ALL been programmed into belief systems of control for civilisations. Now is the time to let go, -into freedom "we go" LOVE LIGHT AND LAUGHTER
This video demonstrates how crucial it is to have dialogues. Of course, I don't speak the same language as the men in this video, which makes a dialogue so very difficult! But I feel like I could talk to these men for hours. I have so much I want to ask them, so much I want to learn. How striking it is to hear someone say "I am between 50 and 60 years old" and not know for certain! Just hearing that sentiment reshapes my understanding of how lives are lived. To sit down and listen to one another, being respectful, being polite, we can learn so much about each other, and learn about ourselves too. One of the key things we would all learn is how much we are all alike. As the man says, "Simplicity is beautiful and is valued all around the world." Such a simple, beautiful thought. Thank you so much for this video!
Points left out after editing these sessions:
They know what John meant by those lines about religion, I shared what I learnt from one of John's interviews in which he said he means Imagine no such things that divide us all based on religion.
Thank you for your hard work in making such educational content for us all.
I think that John Lennon with this song means ... how beautiful and more simple life is if don't exist religion, possession etc. all things that ties and bound our lives. But, even, he's imagining, he know it's a dream.

What a lovely discussion about this song! Even if they didn’t agree with every line, they were so polite and respectful about the things they disagreed with. And everyone got on board with the main message of peace and unity. I’m sure John Lennon would be so happy to see this happen! 🤍
John Lennon was an not a believer in higher Deity's and was a communist.
George Harrison however was the most spiritual one . He’d go to india to an ashram and it seemed to resonate with him deeply

It's communist nonsense

I think it’s wonderful that a John Lennon song generates such dialogue amongst people that stay calm and thoughtful
His boss was everything that is wrong with the world.

God, I would like to meet him.
yes, the elder man from up country shows such wisdom, most impressive
I completed agree. He is so very wise. The youngest one is much more dogmatic and rigid. That frightens me in anyone, but even more so in a religious person.
Abdul is his name, I think. He blew me away. I would love to meet him too.

This is becoming my favorite reaction channel!!
This is in my karaoke catalog.
This is a beautiful and so well expressed comment. I agree 100% with you, thank you for posting it.

I love how the men understand the gist of the Imagine video (Yoko letting light into the room and into John's heart) without understanding the lyrics ❤ John's key message in this song was that it's wrong for ppl to kill in the name of religion, and how much better the world would be if we lived in harmony 😊
@@RJ-ho8pn : votre réponse n'a aucun sens.

They seem about half way there. They recognise every motive for conflict for what it is except the one they're most invested in. I know you don't like to guide their thoughts too much, but it potentially would've helped them to know he was essentially killed for megalomania and vanity by a mentally unstable man, rather than because he proposed a thought experiment of a world without religion.

An amazing reaction, so wonderful to hear their different perspectives on this song. I wonder if the gentleman in blue has heard the “The Drowning Man” ( below)
I see this song by Lenon, Gandhi, Mother Teresa and others throughout history and now who advocated for peace in this story.
The Drowning Man
A fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.
Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, “Jump in, I can save you.”
The stranded fellow shouted back, “No, it’s OK, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me.”
So the rowboat went on.
Then a motorboat came by. “The fellow in the motorboat shouted, “Jump in, I can save you.”
To this the stranded man said, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.”
So the motorboat went on.
Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, “Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety.”
To this the stranded man again replied, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.”
So the helicopter reluctantly flew away.
Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, “I had faith in you but you didn’t save me, you let me drown. I don’t understand why!”
To this God replied, “I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?”
Very interesting conversation. I love this song. It brings me peace.❤️
John Lennon wasn't saying there is no God. He was merely asking people to imagine no God, and hence no religious wars. Imagine it. Imagine peace.

By the way, one small thing that made me smile: in many sign languages around the world (used mostly by deaf people to communicate), the sign for "same" is exactly the gesture Chacha used when explaining that we are all the same: the two index fingers on each hand, extended and pressed together on their sides. It makes me happy to think that this symbol of "same" is so universal.
I love this channel. Very heartwarming. Love from Norway
I just found your channel and after watching 3 of your videos in a row, I subscribed. I who thanked you.
My first time experiencing this channel. I really loved it. I am so impressed by opinions of other peoples. Your guests are very smart and very enlightened. John was expressing the ultimate dream for humanity. He wasn't against any religion but was just saying "Imagine" .
Loved this, thank you again :)
I really appreciate the thoughtful way you presented this song and the way the men responded. I think John would have approved of the discussion. 🙂
These gentlemen are so enjoyable... i can feel the wisdom... i can only imagine the conversations i could have and learning i would love.
I absolutely love your videos. It's refreshing to see people connecting to common themes across cultures and generations.
I would do anything to sit down and have a conversation with these men. So wise and intelligent. I love hearing their views on the world.
Imagine all the things that starts wars were non existence..then perhaps peace ✌️. Perhaps.
Thank you for this thoughtful discussion.
Very interesting discussion. I was impressed. Thank you!
Old man 21:00 lost his nerves when Lennon sings: "there´s no religion" and he meant that people are one when religions or prejudices don´t separate us no more. Fact that we are same family of planet earth. Only man "who don´t know what he´s talking is that old man.
Another wonderful video! I love these people. Thank you.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Mr. Bughio love your passion and understanding!! Greetings from the USA!!
"Brotherhood and peace amongst people", I could not have said it better myself. You have a lovely channel here, I am so happy to see people expand their worldly knowledge through music!
I love the way they see the world....with faith in human kind....deep respect and wisdom....I enjoy watching them immensely....💖
What a great video. John was speaking about the exact things that they were talking about. He was using “imagine” in a sense for everyone to just love one another. Very good interview. I enjoyed it.
🤔You gentlemen are so insightful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts freely! 😊
This has been my lifelong favorite song...
John was just trying to say. Imagine if we could get rid of all the things that separate us. All the things that can cause war
Imagine all of us living in Peace as a a brotherhood of man..
I think everyone should watch these videos. Very enlightening and wonderful!!
This channel is incredible. Where can you find humans who haven't heard Imagine?? I just love it here. Learning a lot too.
Great channel, thank you for the uploads.
This is a truly great series thank you , the humanity that is shown on these episodes has changed my mind about whether or not I should keep living
All of the men are highly intuitive and thoughtful and a joy to watch. Abdul is simply amazing.
Well done...a great opportunity to hear what these men think about a very important subject...thank you...
I love this channel, it's fascinating. That elderly Sir with the white turban is my favourite one, I could listen to him all day.
You're missing an important point, John Lennon didn't say there's no God, or countries, or get rid of your possessions, he said IMAGINE that these things that can divide us don't exist, that's all!
That was brilliant. I would watch the interviews alone. Do more like this.
What a brilliant interview. To hear the tribal people talking about Feudalism as a living breathing system of government which they feel comfortable living within. Understanding this helps us understand how we can live in better harmony ... thank you for an amazing insight.
Actually, the oldest guy said he thinks feudalism is all wrong.
@@cattymajiv She even equated feudalism to harmony ... dear God.
@@ColtraneTaylor Poor thing, seems she's not well.
@@kmo2959 Yes.
Great reactions, I love the song. I suggest The Band/ The Staple Singers-The Weight (The Last Waltz).
The uncertainty of that comment about his age struck me as well.
I'm thinking he's closer to the latter.
