My dad's first battle in ww2 was in north Africa, within the first few minutes his best friend was blown to bits in front of him, in that moment he lost his faith and never went to church again. When this song was released he had the words printed and hung on the wall, he wasn't a fan of 'pop' music but asked for this to be played at his funeral, he was 92 when he got his wish.

I was born the year this song come out 54 years ago. Was a fan since I was a little kid. So cool to see so many generations of people who still love the music. Skotty's great grand children will still be listening to some of these songs. They are timeless. Cool reaction. Thanks for letting me listen along.

Lennon was the founding member of a little known band called The Beatles, perhaps You've heard of them. Between 1963 and 69 these guys redefined music, like turned it on its head. Simply put, by far the most creative and influential band in history and it ain't even close. Sorry Swifty's but Taylor Swift isn't shattering any of their records like you've been led to believe, so enough of that BS. A little self research would show you that. What these four accomplished in just 6 short years will between 1963 and 1969 ain't gonna happen again. Someone out there is maybe gonna correct me and say 1970. Wrong, they recorded their last Lp "Abbey Road" in the summer of 69 and it was released in September, 1969.
"Let It Be" was released in 1970 but recorded in Jan./Feb. 1969. What these 4 accomplished in the studio in 6 years is mind numbing. The took simple boy loves girl pop music in 1963 and 64 and by 1965 when they got heavily into pot their music did a 180° turn. The following year in 66 When John Lennon and George Harrison began taking LSD it did another 180° turn. By time time they released their iconic "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" in late May 1967 and all four were immersed in LSD this single Lp was the nexus of the hippie movement exploding overnight and this is what our culture still refers to as "The Summer Of Love" this record was the soundtrack of that summer and the entire year. They not only changed music into an art form but also changed pop culture forever. Here's a few stats for you Swity's.
As of this time almost 900 million albums sold worldwide. 1.5 Billion singles sold in the US alone and over another Billion sold around the world.
Vinyl LP's are a huge business again and guess who has sold more vinyl over the last 10 years every year in the US and around the world, that would be The Beatles! They are the top selling act on vinyl right now every year, not Taylor Swift or any current artist and they split up 53 years ago, that's how great they were. 20 #1 hits on the Billboard top 100 between 1964 and 1970, and another 54 hits in the top 100 both records. They did all this in 6 short years. I could go on and on but I don't need to. Taylor Swift is 34 now and has been at this since age 16, that's 18 years. The Beatles changed music and popular culture forever in just six years. FACT!
Dude, you need to dive into this band.
    Peace ❤
