    I’m glad you are more comfortable frogging your knits now. I frogged and remade a cardigan that I had worn several years too big. I also frogged another cardigan and made it into a jumper!

    It makes me laugh whenever someone mentions the "sweater curse." I made my boyfriend not only one sweater, but two! And on the second, one of the sleeves were 4 inches too long. On October 19th we'll be married 32 very happy years!! I am enjoying your podcasts immensely, thank you.

    Coastal NC here and on this day, 22 Sep we are experiencing a little homebrew tropical storm. They either come off the coast of Africa and travel a great distance or pop up from a low pressure just off the coast. Good day to knit (cooler FINALLY) and bake an apple cake. Working on Alpine Bloom by Caitlin Hunter. It is a great knit. Also have Rift on needles and when one of those is completed I will cast on Kallias cardigan with Woolstok. Happy gall

    (How many yards will you need for Portia in the heavier weight, pls?) Stunner!

      You're too kind! I love knitting and I equally love sharing. I only had 3 skeins to work with, so 648 yards/ 594m. It's a mini-version of the shawl.

    Good Morning from Calgary! I just discovered your vlog this morning and am so happy I did. I’ve just subscribed.
    Your projects are lovely and your knitting is lovely. I have been really wanting to knit the field sweater however I’m just a little bit intimidated by the ‘wheat’! I am a solid intermediate to advanced knitter so it should not be a problem. You are the first podcaster I’ve seen who has knit this sweater so I am wondering if the wheat stitches are really difficult? I’m needing a little boost of courage.
    I am currently knitting the pressed flowers shawl and a “Barnsley” sweater, and a shrug…..love, love, love knitting. We are planning a trip to Custom Woolen Mills this week as we live in Calgary so it’s probably less than a hour away from us. Have a lovely week. ❤️

    • @pairswellwithknitting
      @pairswellwithknitting  10 місяців тому

      Thank you very much! I had such a joyful time knitting the field sweater. It's a pattern that I needed in front of me for all of the grain stitches, as every row is a little different. It's not difficult, but focus is needed to stay on track. May I suggest pointy needles (e.g., Chiagoos, etc.), as many the grains are created by knitting many stitches together at times.
      if you're knitting colourwork and texture work, which you are, you will love the Field Sweater.
      Enjoy Custom Woolen Mills for me!

    Love your videos on your adventures! So many of your projects are in my queue. And I’m glad you got to visit Green Mountain Spinnery while in Vermont. I live in Stowe 😊 I recently discovered Mont Tricot in Sutton just over the border so if you ever get back to the Eastern Townships, it’s worth a stop in. Maybe I’ll see you in Rhinebeck!

    A “crochet-“ worded search led me to a _”kitting”_ channel! I am sure that there is a story behind the dropped “n” in the channel name; but I do not understand how this ranked a 3rd-place return on my search. 🤷‍♂️ Oh, well! Guess I’ll check out the video, anyway.
