    So many gorgeous Canadian yarns!! The soft yellow and pinks are absolutely gorgeous!

      I do love Canadian yarns! Rustic. Hardy. Local. And yes, I feel the yellow is your colour!

    So neat to see your cast on wheel. I do something similar in that I don’t plan patterns but I pull a different selection of yarns each month, pick one to swatch and then choose a pattern to knit with it. I love it as it keeps the yarns I have out rotating and I can’t forget about any:)

      Thank you! I love that you motivated to knit from stash as well! It's definitely, a newer method for me and love randomizing the choice. And, using yarn I already own feels great!

    I do 1x1 ribbing inside out when knitting in the round, because it looks less wonky on the wrong side. Just do a short row stitch to change directions at the start of the ribbing, and off you go. If you’re starting with neckline ribbing, do the short row stitch and change directions at the end of the ribbing to start the rest of the sweater. Super easy, and the result is neater 1x1 ribbing.

    Always fun podcast to watch! Thank you 😊 The store in Owen Sound is Riverside Yarns. I purchased Illimani Feli yarn there a while back to knit the Sophie Shawl and ran out of yarn 😮. I phoned the store to see if they still had it in stock- no Kathy said, the last skein sold the day before! I needed around 7 yards to finish and Kathy kindly gave me leftover yarn she had in her stash to complete my project. How nice is that???? ❤ great little shop 🎉

      Yes...Riverside Yarns! Such a sweet shop and what a lovely story! I really enjoyed my time in Owen Sound and can't wait to return...especially to the yarn shop!

    That green color is going to look so pretty on you. I can't really see it as a pullover or mixed as a colorwork garment, but I think it'd make a really nice cardigan.

      Thank you! A cardigan is a lovely idea. It's definitely a colour out of my comfort zone.

    Maybe knit a thin border of a different color on the collar or top edge of whatever you end up making with that beautiful green as a way of avoiding the green being next to your face.

      Great idea!!! I feel like it's not my colour and that's a great work-around. Thank you!!!

    I love that Harrisville green. But if you don’t like the color- my sister has knitted up with a color she didn’t care for. Then she dye the finished project. Just an idea

    • @pairswellwithknitting
      @pairswellwithknitting  4 місяці тому

      Yes, dying over it in the end could be an option. I have already started considering what colour options I would have. I do love the yarn. Maybe a swatch colour test could get me started. Thank you!

    ❤ I had to do the same thing for the Moby sweater, could not get gauge in the adult size. Worked out well. Especially since it’s meant to be oversized.

      I'm so happy to hear it turned out the way you wanted it to. I still feel like my Moby is slightly too big, but I'm sure I'll be embracing the ease in the chillier months.

    For my ribbing I knit one stitch normally and then purl into the back for the next stitch, this seems to cinch in those gaps between stitches. Fun podcast again, so enjoyable to listen to you, thank you.

      Thank you! Is it a half twisted rib? My twisted rib is much tighter and cleaner looking than my regular 1 by 1.

    • @trishbecker4202
      @trishbecker4202 4 місяці тому

      @@pairswellwithknitting yes, it is half twisted rib except the twisted stitch is on the inside and it looks like a “normal” rib facing out as it’s the purl stitch you are twisting and the knit stitch as usual. Good luck.

    Of course color doesn’t always show exactly but I knit with Marie Wallin’s British Breeds “ Lime Flower” - which seems similar to your HD green. I had read similar concerns about the green but I knit a cardigan - her pattern “ Beech” and a number of knitters were pleasantly surprised how good it looks. I have found it works almost like a neutral and with a cardigan you can layer it over something- a print? that you might think is more complimentary to your skin tone. Have fun selecting a pattern!

    • @pairswellwithknitting
      @pairswellwithknitting  4 місяці тому

      Oh....Tundra as a neutral. I could see it. And yes, a print is a real possibility. I think a shirt collar that hits the face before the green could be a decent solve. Thanks!

    • @pairswellwithknitting
      @pairswellwithknitting  4 місяці тому

      Yay! Thanks for joining me to spin for my new cast-on. The green would look lovely with brown and yellow. There's actually little blips of yellow within the yarn. Fun!

    Your Moby looks great 😍For my last jumper I tried combination knitting for the ribbing. I think the purls came out much neater than my usual.

    • @pairswellwithknitting
      @pairswellwithknitting  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you very much! Oh, I haven't tried this technique. I may have to dabble. I do find I have to go down quite a bit in needle size to get a ribbing that I'm happy with. Combination knitting is intriguing.
