You probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me.
@Remington Tanner Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
One trick that would significantly speed up the process of animating the jellyfish along its initial spline: Animate one pulse of the jellyfish, then go into the Timeline F-curve mode, select the animated parameters in the timeline, go to Functions > Track After > Offset Repeat After. This will automatically repeat the jelly's pulse motion along the spline.
Hey man I'm having some problems with the C4D timeline. My jellyfish isn't synching up properly with the timeline. Can you help me out with this? my email is rhys.mccallum@gmail.com
Daniel you are a hero man, I am so glad i found these tutorials. Seriously i've been learning C4D over the past year with GSG and Eyedesign and all the other great tuts out there but yours really take the cake now. Swift, advanced, clear and simple to follow with zero fucking around and a great sense of humor. Fan-fucking-tastic. Thanks, fo real.
hands down ur tutorials are one of the most professional tutorials i have ever seen and i have seen shit load of tutorials congratulation man ur my favorite youtuber right now PS: i might try this in octane render
hmm for some reason my object disappears when I hide the lathe, I added the lathe in the object for connect just like video :/ did they change this functionality? using r17
First of all that was insane, second of all will follow in part 2 but honestly one of the best tuts I have ever watched. Waiting for the 2nd and 3rd parts
Hello and thank you for the videos, I have a big problem with the mid hairs they are generated above... totally the opposite of the logical sense when I select exactly the same part as on the video...
Ace tutorial. Getting stuck at adding a linear field instead of falloff in R20. I can see the spline animated under Bulge/Linear Field/Remapping tab, but the connect object / Jelly does not move. Adding a jiggle does nothing. Any hints?
Wow how the hell do you remember all that where did you learn all this I can barely make things move my videos are no where near as complicated as yours you are the MAN!!
Man, I love this tutorial! Your voice, the music, the pace, it's just really perfect in my opinion :) The only thing bothering me a bit is the screen glitch (not quite sure if it's a glitch or if you did it on purpose) on the right and left of the screen :)
Super nice work! and your voice sounded amazing. "Daniel Danielsson" sounded like a swedish name so I also most say: Sjukt bra jobbat! rösten påminner om en av sr p1 programpresentatörer :) One of the best tutorial for C4d I have seen!
Just turned 27 , I have a long way to go before anyone can call me sir , :). To the main issue , your tutorials are really good and they are of high standards.Thank you for the uploads.
Great tutorial, but it seems that I can't follow the same steps on a recent version without having issues, I had to discovered my own way to get there and the interest thing is we can reduce some steps and get a great result as well.
daniel can you please help me, when i select the spline and click on lathe, a lathe layer appears but nothing happens in the perspective view, i don't see any 3d object.
nice tutorial!! :D do have a question though;; how would you do the falloff in the newest C4D, with the fields? I've been trying to find a way to do it but im really struggling aha!,, Also, very nice voice btw, makes the tutorials more enjoyable ~
for the newest versions of c4d u can add linear field to the bulge effect once added u go to the remapping tab scroll down to contour and change mode to curve, your spline graph will be visible.. to add more points to the spline u can right click on the graph, spline presets, custom, change number of points
Hey dude its been a long time since you're video, I'm working in R22 right now and it can't for the life of me figure out how to get the animation working when you apply the jiggle deformer with the bludge!
Great tutorial, really well explained, and it looks amazing! I personally find the background music a bit distracting, but hey, it's still a brilliant tute! Thanks :-)
Don't know if this is still a burning question but I tried it in R23 and at first it wasn't working for me either. The Connection obj was not doing anything. What fixed it for me was to throw the Lathe in a Null object first, from then on it worked just fine.
HI Daniel, great tutorial ! Quick question- I am stuck (I have R22) and am having an issue with the "Bulge" section. For the fall off I can't change the time remapping in the way you did it! Could you help me plzz? :)
I had this issue too and was messing around. This is what worked for me. Under bulge/falloff tab, you add a linear field. once you add he linear field you'll see a remapping tab, scroll all the way down to contour, open that up and that is where the spline grid is. you must set contour mode to curve. my animation speed was set to frames so i divided my total frames evenly, then messed around with those numbers to find a continuous loop that worked. The other issue I had was my obj was much smaller than the container/box (i don't know the technical word) when i added jiggle. so i couldn't see it and that was giving me trouble. i hope that addresses the problems you were having
@@kristincobos Same issue here, added a Field, I can see the spline animating under the remapping tab, but my Jellyfish/Connect obj does not move at all. Adding a Jiggle does nothing. Any idea what can be wrong?
Thank you so much for these tutorials Daniel! i struggle with 1 thing on this tutorial, hope you or anyone can help me on this. problem is when i try to animate the jellyfish along the spline and set the keyframes it doen't sync right. the swooshes are there, movement too but it doesn't look right. it swoosh and move at first like it should but later on the spline it move and swoosh so totally out of sync or how do you call it. again thank you so much for these great tutorials, this is my first i follow, but i love how you explain it, it's a joy to follow it :)
i got it! my framerate is set to 30, somehow lowering the framerate didn't work so i had to adjust the timing for the keyframes to match the 30 framerate so instead of 50 steps i had to do 60. beginners mistake i guess hahaha
I tried to create a looping animation, but I couldn't get the first and last positions to be the same. I should somehow bake the animation and replace the last keyframe with the first one
If you bake it you might be able to loop it using Motion Clips. It lets you fade between between animations like an opacity slider. Been a while since I used it, but I think this tutorial is the one I used last time: ua-cam.com/video/sjAUjl9FIUc/v-deo.html
It's basically a way to turn a parametric object editable, so you can use some more advanced deformers and things on it that otherwise often won't work. The Correction Deformer at 02:38 for example needs to be a child of geometry to work, so you can't put it as a child of the Lathe or in a Null with it, but you can have it as a child of the Connect Object with the Lathe as the object reference.
Thanks for the question and the answer. I had this same question that made me read through all these comments in order to find the answer. It would have been nice if you’d briefly explained that in the tutorial. Thank you for this awesome tutorial!
I love this tuotirial! It's very useful and clear. I'm doing this tutorial but actually i'm not that able in Cinema 4D; i have a little problem with the friction object: i can't find it! I'm using Cinema 4D Studio R18, maybe the friction is part of a plugin?
Hey thanks for the tut! The dragging of the Lathe to the Connect object and hidding it does not show the model for me. I followed it step by step without any luck. R19 version. Any reasons why the Connect is not showing anything on screen?
Could be the jiggle? In which case, make sure you scale it down on the first frame. Otherwise if you've got polygons selected and are scaling those down, the correction objects could misbehave. So make sure you're scaling the Object and not the geometry. Maybe add your full Jelly to a null, and scale the null down?
And you translate the drawn spline into a polygon? Ie if you do not translate on and off the Lathe the spline disappears. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?!
Your tutorials are fantastic! I wonder how to learn this program properly. I've been using it for 1 year and a half and still don't understand the logic behind some tools. Where did you learn everything?
I probably learned most of it the way you're learning now, watching tutorials, reading through forums, and of course the C4D Documentation is immensely helpful. Then after a while you kind of pick up momentum and begin to understand the system behind the tools, so you can figure out most things on your own.
Hi Daniel! I don't know if you could help me, the first set of hairs on the edge act normal and adapt to the changes I make, but the second set of hairs that go inside are really stiff and don't change no matter what I set the gravity to. Do you Know why this happens?? Thanks!
Your tutorials are among the most advanced I've watched, yet they are the most simple to follow.
That's really great to hear!
You probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..?
I somehow lost the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me.
@Kash Jaxon instablaster ;)
@Remington Tanner Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Remington Tanner it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
i exactly do the same thing in first two min. but when i hiding my lathe ,its actually disappear...what's wrong..
Jesus christ this is one of the best tutorials I've ever seen in my 8 years of doing animation. Subscribed & keep em coming!
Wow, thanks. That means a lot!
Man! your tutorials are the most informative tutorial here on UA-cam. I have learnt a lot from them. Thank you.
Sweet!
20 minute long tutorial - spent at least an hour scrambling to keep up with the advanced techniques! great fun. exhilarating work! thank you.

Thanks man! :)
Please shoot me a link if you do try it in Octane!
i will
Your tutorials are the best I've come across for cinema 4d, you really keep it light and interesting, thank you so much!
Hey, thanks. :)
hmm for some reason my object disappears when I hide the lathe, I added the lathe in the object for connect just like video :/ did they change this functionality? using r17
Could be an R17 thing... Just don't hide it, it should go invisible as soon as the Connect references it.
Thanks for checkin' the vid!
Same here, R17 - glad I find your comment.
Did you fix the problem? Just having the same problem right now...
First of all that was insane, second of all will follow in part 2 but honestly one of the best tuts I have ever watched. Waiting for the 2nd and 3rd parts
Thanks, they'll be up within a few days!
Awesome tutorial! Any chance you could tell us how this would be done with fields in Cinema R20 onwards?
Dude you are a master of your craft... and my GF thinks you are the fucking Bob Ross of motion design! Keep these amazing tutorials coming!
Being the Bob Ross of one's industry is the highest of honours. Thank you.
One of the best tutorials I have seen so far...cant wait for other parts for this...really encouraged to learn more of Cinema 4D...Thank you...
Thanks. C4D is really a great package, and the learning curve can be quite wonderful.
That was bloody magnificent mate. Nothing wrong with your teaching skills either. Thanks. Looking forward to what you conjure up next.
Thanks man. I too am curious what I'll do next... :D
Hello and thank you for the videos, I have a big problem with the mid hairs they are generated above... totally the opposite of the logical sense when I select exactly the same part as on the video...

PS: BG music it's dope
Awyeah, thanks! :)
Man, I love this tutorial! Your voice, the music, the pace, it's just really perfect in my opinion :) The only thing bothering me a bit is the screen glitch (not quite sure if it's a glitch or if you did it on purpose) on the right and left of the screen :)
Thanks! The 'glitch' is just to get it 16x9 format, but might be better just to leave it with black bars.
Daniel Danielsson Ahh I see! Yes, black bars would probably be better, at least for my taste :)
Thank you, sir!
Super nice work! and your voice sounded amazing. "Daniel Danielsson" sounded like a swedish name so I also most say: Sjukt bra jobbat! rösten påminner om en av sr p1 programpresentatörer :)

Thanks! I've been meaning to change it... Well, one day...
Wow.....cudnt be better... thanks heaps Mate...
Can you re-make this tutorial or share this scene with R20 ? Please ! I do it in R20 but it's not working .

perfect tutorial
you know so much stuff man
Excelente tutorial, gracias por compartir
You lathed the shit out of that spline 🤣👌🏽
The connect object step at 2:25 doesn't show the geometry for me after turning off the lathe :( Any advice?
pretty good stuff
fantastic
Amazing tutorial.. subscribed!! Btw You have a very nice voice
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
thnk you for your time ur a geniuss
Trying to follow this on r25 and this shit has all changed. Added the linear field but not getting anywhere near this
HI Daniel, great tutorial ! Quick question- I am stuck (I have R22) and am having an issue with the "Bulge" section. For the fall off I can't change the time remapping in the way you did it! Could you help me plzz? :)

like your tutorial and voice❤️
Thanks! :)
That was magic! :D
Love you. Thanks a lot bro
You are a f©kn genius my friend!!! I love this tuto!!!
3:33 When I press U-L it selects 2 strings at the same time. Not only one. How do I select only 1? (Amazing video, btw! thanks for it! :) )
Brilliant, as always! 10/10. Thank you sir. Could you make some stuff about xpresso in the future, please? It would be so interesting and helpful.
Thanks! There seems to be interest in Xpresso, so I'll try to add some in in the future!

:D There can't be enough swooshes :)
Hi there !! Can you explain me, for what exactly we need Connect object ??

I'm using Cinema 4D Studio R18, maybe the friction is part of a plugin?
I might be a bit late now, but it should be up under Simulate --> Particles. :)
what is the version of the software?
R20 has a different vibe.
This is either R16 or R18... So it's definitely older.
awesome
damn how awesome is that? thanks alot. :)
How would you duplicate this to have multiple jellyfish, but with offset timing in animation in terms of the jiggle ?
How i animate with Falloff in R20 ? Help :(
Hey thanks for the tut! The dragging of the Lathe to the Connect object and hidding it does not show the model for me. I followed it step by step without any luck. R19 version. Any reasons why the Connect is not showing anything on screen?
Newer versions of C4D seem to do that with connect objects, so there's no longer a need to hide the original. (Think this tutorial is in R16 or R18)
Just what I needed for a project! Tho, I am having some trouble scaling it smaller without the model going crazy. Any tips how to do it?
Could be the jiggle? In which case, make sure you scale it down on the first frame.
Otherwise if you've got polygons selected and are scaling those down, the correction objects could misbehave. So make sure you're scaling the Object and not the geometry.
Maybe add your full Jelly to a null, and scale the null down?
And you translate the drawn spline into a polygon? Ie if you do not translate on and off the Lathe the spline disappears. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?!
EPIC.
Hi the pen you use at the beginning of the video to which instrument corresponds in 2017 version of cinema 4D?
AT THE BEGINING I DO THE CONNECT OBJECT BUT THE LATHE DISSAPEARS HOW CAN I CORRECT THIS (R18)?
Your tutorials are fantastic! I wonder how to learn this program properly. I've been using it for 1 year and a half and still don't understand the logic behind some tools. Where did you learn everything?

I think you are jenius...

Hi Daniel! I don't know if you could help me, the first set of hairs on the edge act normal and adapt to the changes I make, but the second set of hairs that go inside are really stiff and don't change no matter what I set the gravity to. Do you Know why this happens?? Thanks!
Maybe they need more segments to simulate well?
Hi! At 3:50 I can't move the selected points up, any idea why? I'm using R20, Is there a way around it? Thanks.
9:07 IS there a automated way of doing these keyframes? It's mostly the same thing - every so and so move by 5%.
