And pony motor fuel tank valve has another filter buil in, that cup with hex on bottom are mini filter. Inside you find bras mesh with rubber gasket around.
AP, Most track driven machines depend on grease to tighten the track. There should be a grease fitting near the center of the drive to release the pressure to change or re[air tracks the grease is released. To tighten the track pump grease into chamber.
You are now like Diesel Creek channel Mr. Pants. Buying something old and fixing it up. I could not believe it slid on the ice. The ground must have a meter of frost in it. Looking forward to seeing what you can make with it. Definitely a small lake out of your creek. Might be fun to zip line into.
The track adjuster is either a nut or hydraulic grease fill . Check the aft end of the big spring for a grease fitting or 3 inch nut to adjust the track
When you go to grease the zirk fittings, and the ones that get alot of mud or dirt in the opening, when your done greasing them, pull back the hose just off the fitting, and give it a few pumps to fill the opening up, and that's enough. That way when you go to grease those ones again, all you have to do is get a standard screwdriver or stick, and swipe the grease out of the way. Doing that makes it so easy to get to those zirk fittings, because the grease doesn't get hard and keeps dirt or mud from getting back in them and getting hard, and have to gouge them out again. Give it a go, and guarantee you will love it and keep on doing it.
That access door when looking for final drive oil level is to adjust steering clutch on each track. FYI: shut off gas on pony motor always when not using. Disconnect battery and keep on trickle charge.

In case it hasn't been said yet (only ~7min into the video), the pony engine also serves to spin the main engine for a minute to a few minutes to make sure all of the main engine bearing surfaces get well lubricated. Doing this with an electric starter would require a much bigger starter motor to keep it from overheating as well as more and bigger starting batteries. Starting the main engine without this prelubrication would cause accelerated wear of many bearings, especially those for the piston rods and crankshaft.

Honestly didn't think that would happen, then i realized that people should stay away from it when it's on ice, very dangerous lol, glad i didn't crash into the building
16 ton (32,000 lbs) is about the size of a Komatsu D51PX. So it's a really good all around dozer, in the future if you can afford it I would see if you could replace the blade with a Semi U blade with cutting edges that can be replaced when worn out, and since it's pretty much mechanical it should be bulletproof. Overall a really good choice for a first dozer!
Hope you enjoy the birthday present we got for you, you've certainly earned it. Amazing how easily it slides sideways. Does that mean the ice is for real, not just a bit of white paint splashed around? Suddenly your Yanmar looks very small, especially the blade. Another fascinating video Ant, thank you.
@@Ants_Pants You shouldn't need to remove the radiator (or fan shroud and associated tinware) to replace the alternator belt, stand by the machine next to the alternator, feed the belt into the shroud and hook it over a fan blade then turn the fan by hand whilst "feeding" the belt into the shroud (turn the fan away from you so the belt goes over the top of the fan) until belt is over fan pulley, then from underneath put belt on the crank pulley finally slacken alternator mounting bolts push alternator in towards engine slip belt over pulley and adjust to get correct tension (rule of thumb is 20mm total deflection possible on longest section between pulleys), I use this method on machinery (such as combine harvesters where removing radiators/fan shrouds is impossible) and it always works, sorry if it sounds confusing but can't give a clearer explanation of how it's done, hope this helps.

I owned a TD-6, and it really pushed some dirt. However, I spent as much time working on it as I did using it. I hear that is pretty common for used dozers. Best of luck with your new machine, and thanks for another great video.
In America what we do to clean out a fuel tank is when we clean the inside I use a handful of small 10 mm nuts and put them inside the tank and shake the tank with the cleaning solution and nuts to clean the rust from the inside and then keep rinsing the tank so the nuts scrape off the rust and after take the nuts out and use vinegar to remove the last of the rust. You can also strap the tank to a smaller tractors wheel and shake the tank that way as you drive around. Works great!

2 cycle oil won't harm the pony engine
Well Happy Birthday Andris!!!!! A bit late sorry, nice present!!!!
No problem, never too late. Thank you !
FINALLY caught up on your amazing series! Very well done, excellent content and extremely funny/entertaining...so much so I formally give you leave to use some typical American sayings that will suit YOU very well...."What could possibly go wrong??" If it's crazy but it works, it's not crazy" "If he had any brains, he'd take them out and play with them." With much affection from North Carolina, Sir.
haha 😂😂
Like your light hearted attitude and 'what if' problem solving. I feel sure you will figure out the track tension soon. Best regards from New Zealand.
Hehe. Thank you my friend
Pretty interesting video,so entertaining and funny;it keep me in good mood! I'm very glad for you ,I mean the little present you got for your birthday.I'm sur you'll find application for it.👍👍👍
i think so too, thank you
I like the dozer and think you did get a good deal. Would have bought it, too. Enjoy it, you will find things to use it for. Happy Birthday.
Thanks 👍
Happy Birthday Andris my brother, you can clear land with it! It will push some big boulders too! I’m glad you got something that you wanted my friend! 🎂🎉🎊🎁
yeah was looking for this for a while :D
@@Ants_Pants I’m so glad you found it and can’t wait to see more of the dozer videos my friend! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Dude, that thing is a beast! Can't wait to see you put it to good use. Happy birthday!
me too, thanks
Very interesting. We just picked up a 1956 D7C that looks nearly identical to this model.
Cool. What are you planning to do with yours?
I didn't expect this new toy.
You have spent your money well and deserve all the rewards for your hard work.
Nice work getting it away from the building and apple tree.
Please look after the Soviet chair, it has served you well lol
Belated Happy Birthday and thanks for sharing another great video.
Lol yes i need to fix it
I like your videos and have joined your channel. Like how you do leave your mistakes in as it makes it a more real version of a backyard UA-camr. Cheers
Backyard youtuber 😂 That's perfect. Thanks mate
Just like me mate cheers to you and your channel looking forward to your videos.
Happy birthday Andris !
Thank you
Fixed it up i like to see you do that on your channel
Right on
Well Ants....You gotta give it a name. Crapmaster 2000XL or something like that. You are the Andrew Camarata of Estonia!
crapcrusher 1500 haha
Когда заводится Т170 , это отдельный кайф , особенно когда стоишь рядом.
Yes
Congratulations on leveling up! It’s beefy!!! I like it.
Level up, welcome to level 2 !
@@Ants_Pants lol right! I can’t wait to see what you do with it
I have a feeling that the tiny loop for the fuel tank lock, is not going to give much resistance to the siphon gang haha.
Plan A then lol
You need a burglar alarm mounted inside the dozers cab and a motion sensitive flood light. Cheap protection. Good luck.
@@Ants_Pants Just connect the chassi to the electric house power, they are not trying a second time!!
@@64TommyG lol :D how about i just set about 100 claymores around the dozer? 😂😂
@@Ants_Pants Maybe best to contact a lawer first? My proposal could be seen as another accident, I doubt that the Claymores can be seen as an accident (I would probably be stealing the Claymores) But I like that you are allowed to protect your property in USA! Here is it the defender who goes to jail! That's why I have some interesting electric connections...
fun bits of weldind hear and there.
Yup
It’s amazing when you buy a piece of equipment that you don’t think you need, how much work on your farm you can do with it. I reckon you will some good videos about this machine. If nothing else, you will have a shit load of fun with it. Just found your channel and wish I had a long time ago, love your humour, happy birthday and now I’m a new subscriber
Thank you Gordon 👍
Maybe DIGGING a Pond directly beside the Veranda? Fishing on the Porch...?
Not sure i can get permit for that.
@@Ants_Pants mhmm. i think permit depends on the Size of the Pond. Trout for example does not need a big Pond, and its not deep enough to be dangerous for Kids... so your Wife should be agree to this Idea... beware of Rolling Pin Attacs...
I'm most impressed by the spotless workbench... holy cow!
Haha
Seems like you're missing a wear bar or cutting bar on the blade. The blade will wear out very fast without one and will be very expensive to repair or replace. Also, Happy Birthday!
No it was there, but badly worn out.
You saw a blade?
That blade has see a lot of work
Happy late Birthday. I watch a few channels like your but no one has your great sense of humor. Love it. Look forward to see what you flatten with your new toy.
I appreciate that!
Awesome 👍
PS you can weld spacers on worn sprocket teeth to make them last .
We built up worn sprocket s tracks in NY America on old machines. Also they make alternator belts which can unlink to install . They come apart and can be made any length.
Check final drive gear oil in planetary gears in Yanmar best machines.
Thanks bro! Yes all good tips! i always do check, because 1 side is leaking a little
Oh, it’s got the pony motor! That’s cool if it doesn’t break down brother and if it does you can always go to a 12 volt starter! That should help you gather firewood and trees! 👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻 It looks the same size as the Cat D-6! That’s cheap brother, should be a good machine the way you maintain your equipment Andris!
ill try to do my best! Thanks Kirk
Amazing! Work can wait. Must watch now!
Hope you enjoy it!
