Joseph turned out to be a handsome, jaunty fellow under all of those years of neglect. Nice work Ants. I love how you value and take care of your things. Bravo.
Tremendous amount of work to do what you did! Great job! Unless people actually work on dozers they have no idea what it takes. Heck of an accomplishment!!
For the hoses behind the blade, I recommend you weld a rod sticking out of the front of the machine, from the end of the rod you can hang a spring and some chain to hold the hoses in place. The spring and the hoses give enough flexibility to still move everything, while avoiding rubbing.
*- I was thinking the hoses needed to be kept away from the blade and out of the way, too.* *- Your design concept of an appropriate bracket AND a Suspension spring system is smart.*
Hi, I think the expression you are trying to remember is If the shoe fits, wear it. I like BIG Yellow Monster, too, because Joseph reminds me too much of Stalin. Joseph turned out nicely. Great job. When CAT are new, their Signature color is sprayed on *_everything_* to make leaks show easier, seams are sealed, and fasteners are protected. Thick paint peels off easily, revealing a usable fastener, instead of a corroded head that strips out, rounds off. I'd slather those engines, exhausts & tracks with hi-temp silver.
To cover the ram you need an accordion bellows that can be slid over it and secured at both ends. You can make your own from canvas sheet by cutting out circles and sewing them together then sealing them by emptying a tube of silicone caulk into a bucket, adding 2 to 3 liters of mineral spirits, stirring it up until liquid and soaking the bellows in the liquid then stretch it out to dry This is how I make waterproof tarps from bed sheets

It looks freakin awesome my guy!! Pressure washing the engine was pretty satisfying to watch as well, this thing is a beast I can’t believe how high the oil pressure went up to, nice work brother👍👍
glad your water pump problem was only a few loose bolts. Looked like a nightmare job getting that off and then finding a replacement. I'm also glad you didn't crack the housing beating on it trying to get it loose. I'm sure you are too.
Great job (well, as usual .... 😏😏😏) About the 2 front hydraulic cylinder protection, maybe you can use (or make it) as PTO protector heavy plastic tube sliding one inside the other About the dozer very long front hydraulic hoses, cover/protect them individually (they don't rub each other) with spiral plastic wrapping guard, a stick with long springs holding the hoses away will be a great protection, the long spring maintaining/permitting all the movement. Again, great job you did (dozer now look almost too nice to work with it 🤣😂) Be well ✌✌✌
That dozer has never been treated this well since it was built myself friend, every bit of gunk you clean off the engine is going to help it run cooler and the means it’s going to perform better and burn less fuel brother! I’m glad to see you maintaining the dozer Andris, but I know how well you maintain your equipment my friend! You should make it a habit of turning the fuel every time you get off of it and turn it on before you get one the machine! You can put the key by the fuel valve and I promise you’ll remember to turn the fuel on before you crank it! Might work brother, it’s always good to turn the fuel off and disconnect the batteries when you’re not using it! The dozers I’ve seen have a battery disconnect switch! The don’t know if that machine has one but I don’t believe that you can’t figure out how to install one myself friend! Just a suggestion brother!
@@Ants_Pants you’re always welcome Andris, I figured it would but just a reminder! I definitely know with your skills the dozer is going to be a better machine and have a better home! I always appreciate how well you maintain your equipment Andris! Stay safe my friend! ✌🏻✌🏻🇪🇪🇺🇸
Great job Andris. Dozer looks much better with some new paint on it. I think building a roof off of the tractor shed would be a good idea. Give the dozer some cover from the weather and keep it looking nice 👍

Hello Robert from Mark (Dutch/Latvian) from Portland Maine, USA. The fist time I saw your Soviet Bulldozer I thought “he is a very brave individual - or he is desperate for lack of superior resources.” By the time I had seen you complete your initial challenges, I knew I would need to subscribe and contribute only the finest advice possible to try and match your skill level. Today I believe that these solutions are capable of answering your direct needs and perhaps a bonus for other things you may not have thought of: (1) PROTECTING HOSES: A quick hint is to try and find some old/expired woven fire hose because it is like gold on heavy equipment when it it is used to protect hydraulic cylinders, wire, harnesses and such - it is both heat and flame resistant too! Also, I concur about suspending hoses by springs. I prefer the cheap, longer screen door springs on longer hydraulic hoses. Use an older expired larger hose to support the hose in the middle, using a short length of plastic or metal pipe or conduit to support the padded hose and use clamps or tie wraps to keep it in place and connect it to the end of the spring. Attach the fixed end to a location that allows freedom of movement through the entire range, while keeping the entire hose clear of potential snags from the running gear or likely places where the debris you are pushing might interfere with the hoses (off the ground/away from the tracks & blade). Attaching hoses like a cable installed on your living room baseboard WILL work too! To be continued …
Andries, firstly, great hair cut dude, secondly, thanks for putting the absorbent material down before you removed that grease, appreciated the earth care thing and finally, I reckon you have got a good dozer there, all the time put in now will benefit you in the future. The paint job makes her look awesome and ready for work. Great video work, awesome commentaries and love your channel.
Love your work bro, love the channel, the dozed looks great, nice job man, keep up the great work. I think a lean to would be great for Joesph built off the tractor shed would keep him looking good for longer. Cheers Steve J.
Hi, yes it's about time to build your big shed. Just build the frame and roof and build it in as you go. Definitely add on to the existing tractor shed, extend the far roof line up so you have height and possibly an attic.

Good name for the machine, I approve it. It actually refers to the forefather of this machine called the S-60 or also known as Stalinetch-60. So they started calling every model after the S-60 after Stalin just "Joseph"(or Joss in Estonian). Even if the official name Stalinetch was abandoned in the late 50s. The front letters ЧТЗ stand for Cheliabinsk Tractor Factory. You can technically service and bleed the machine alone but it's better to have two people as this video proves. The bleeder screws on the plungers are sometimes so bad that you can actually break them. I should have remembered to open them first before everything else. But you had so much air in the system it took me thinking where the air got stuck in. Paint job well im a fan of patina but this one looks really in acceptable levels so if your fine with it, why complain? The coolant leak on the older model is even more notorious cause they have a packet nut seal and they leak like hell. I would say the old coolant cleaned the block from what ever was inside. Usually when the block has had water in it as a coolant it's filled to the brim with crud and rust.
You could make a check list for starting up written on the dash maybe ,also shut down procedures so you don’t forget anything👍💪🔧 awesome dozer and video bro . Never stop making improvements
Do you have such a check list. Fore breakfast, for taking your nap, how about going to take a poop, but you suggest ants needs one for using his his loving machine. Shame on you
If you want to drill in hardened steel, just take a bit for drilling stone. Anyone with a tungsten tip is allright. Sharpen it on a bench grinder like you would to re-sharpen a steel bit. After that it will even cut trough glass.
Andris, bro, I can't look at 46:21 at all - one outrageous laugh! It's been a long time since I've had such fun and at the same time sad... Hold on, man!
Another excellent episode, you have without doubt got the best channel on this platform. I love the way that nothing phases you, you take it all in your stride. Even when you’re not a 100% sure, and then on top of that, you do problem solving. And to a good standard. You don’t care how messy you get. Which all leads to a soviet bulldozer that you wouldn’t recognise from the one you first brought, kudos to you, I always look forward to a new episode. That’s all the good stuff, now the bad……. I don’t think your mother is going to like what the soviet monster is doing to her garden. I can’t see how you’re going to overcome that problem. Keep up the great work, love this channel. ✅👍
@@Ants_Pants What a brilliant idea 💡. Mind you with all that heavy metal. Will it ever take off haha 😂. Your mother would be happy, her grass would be saved 👍
Phew, that's a wrap Andris. What a mammoth task - and your work maybe lengthened the life of the Soviet dozer by a few millennia. No doubt we'll see it at play in some future episode. I noted a couple of comments on the technical issues which appear really helpful - I'll just confine myself to a 'thank you' for a wholly engrossing vid. You could make paint drying into a spectator sport bro.
That dozer is looking good. Excellent spray can restoration lol.. That was a lot of work! That turbo whisle during start up is awesome. Nice 17 by the way.. Big fan of Gl0ck, I have a couple myself. 😁👍
Extremely good mechanical engineering skills and the paint refresh dozer, looks brand new .👍Watched all 3 series and like them.👌 I think have watched all the available channel videos, super awesome videos, the channel has something special .👍👍 Great job with that wine 🍾 bottle, by the way, extremely attractive and very beautiful lady.😁
You sure are one hard charger, great job on that dozer, definitely build a roof off that building you mentioned. Under that tree the birds will crap on your nice paint job. Also we sure hope your Mom likes where you parked Josef......no fun to be executed.😅😂 Looking forward to your next video. Iowa, USA
Just a suggestion; you need to write down your starting steps on something.”, then have them laminated so you can mount it inside of the cab. If I were you I’d do this on all of your equipment. I also noticed, maybe I’m wrong but do you have a pole barn to park all your equipment to keep them out of the weather. It may not matter now but as you grow older, working out in bad weather conditions on equipment will be much harder.
For such a big engine it has so many small parts, nuts & screws in the most hard to reach places. Also, surely there has to be a simpler engine design 🤔. P.s I never get tired of watching your videos. S Be well stay safe & much love to you and your family. Terviseks 👍🏾🇬🇧💙
Sure wish I knew Estonian so I'd know what you guys were saying when you were opening her bottle of wine. 😅 Maybe a reward for hard work done on the Soviet Bulldozer?😊
Always good stuff! An idea for the valves, just wire into position vs. welding. That way you still have options. Don't know if this is a good idea or not, but thought I suggest it anyway.
BROSEPH! :D That paint and maintenance did wonders :) An Idea would be to put some rear view mirrors on him? Hahaha. Moms are the same "NO YOU ARE NOT BRINGING THAT HOME! Or at least you are not parking it where the heighbours can see it!!!" So that's whu I have my own house :D Makeshift roof is great. It will spare Broseph of the worst weather. Also great type of paint. Painted a fireplace and it came out perfect (but you should ensure temp never goes above 80 to be sure)
Fixing something previously owned is basically throwing yourself into a pile of trash bags, if you're lucky it's soft stuff, but if not you're gonna land on metal cans or something.
I wish you a merry weekend 🎉
Merry Christmas to you too! ❤
You have an excellent weekend too!

Lets make it into a dozercopter
Thanks 👍😇
Thanks bro
Joseph definitly deserves his own shelter. Makeshift or not. Never underestimate the lifetime of a quick fix ;-)
Yup
i really enjoy watching your videos and love the sound of the motor running . reminds me of when i would hang out with my grand father on his tractor
Glad that motor sound bought up some memos 😇
Dude hearing you cuss things out in Estonian (I'm assuming) makes me LMAO every time. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Maybe i should have subs for that part 🤔😂
That dozer is looking good. Excellent spray can restoration lol.. That was a lot of work! That turbo whisle during start up is awesome. Nice 17 by the way.. Big fan of Gl0ck, I have a couple myself. 😁👍
😜👍👍
You are awesome mechanic -shade tree - genius 👏👍
Thank you 🤗
Extremely good mechanical engineering skills and the paint refresh dozer, looks brand new .👍Watched all 3 series and like them.👌
I think have watched all the available channel videos, super awesome videos, the channel has something special .👍👍
Great job with that wine 🍾 bottle, by the way, extremely attractive and very beautiful lady.😁
😅 thank you very much
Put it by the shed and build a cover for it great video keep them coming
Great idea
Some of the best content on YT and it looks good from Google maps too. Greetings from Houston.
😅
You sure are one hard charger, great job on that dozer, definitely build a roof off that building you mentioned. Under that tree the birds will crap on your nice paint job. Also we sure hope your Mom likes where you parked Josef......no fun to be executed.😅😂 Looking forward to your next video.
Iowa, USA
Lol yeah
To protect the cylinder rods, use some corrugated tubing and zip-tie secure.
Plastic
Ah yes
Amazing old machine, Love your channel. Very entertaining . Greetings Mac from Sweden.
Thanks Mac
you have respect for your machinery. this one is looking good.
Thanks 👍
Love the idea. Cut down the bushes and make a makeshift roof for now, park it there..
Really enjoyed this 3 part video of big tonka toy .you certainly had your work cut out. But brilliant results my friend.😊
Thank you so much 😁
Just a suggestion; you need to write down your starting steps on something.”, then have them laminated so you can mount it inside of the cab. If I were you I’d do this on all of your equipment. I also noticed, maybe I’m wrong but do you have a pole barn to park all your equipment to keep them out of the weather. It may not matter now but as you grow older, working out in bad weather conditions on equipment will be much harder.
Yeah i want to build a bigger shed where i could park em
You did a outstanding job on your dozier it takes a lot of time but it’s worth it looks fantastic see ya 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks for bring us along Love the paint job
My pleasure!!
For such a big engine it has so many small parts, nuts & screws in the most hard to reach places. Also, surely there has to be a simpler engine design 🤔.
P.s I never get tired of watching your videos. S
Be well stay safe & much love to you and your family. Terviseks 👍🏾🇬🇧💙
Yeah, thanks sir
Dozer looks great ,you are an amazing guy with the work you do . I get tired watching you ! Keep the videos coming,.
Thanks 👍
An underrated channel ..... love your videos!!!
I appreciate that!
Nice job! Always listen to mother!
Always!
Sure wish I knew Estonian so I'd know what you guys were saying when you were opening her bottle of wine. 😅
Maybe a reward for hard work done on the Soviet Bulldozer?😊
Lol 😅
@Ants_Pants who is the babe? Sister? Wife? Neighbor? Just curious
Always good stuff! An idea for the valves, just wire into position vs. welding. That way you still have options. Don't know if this is a good idea or not, but thought I suggest it anyway.
Thanks for the tips!
Hi from guyra Australia, I enjoy your humor good stuff.
Hey, thanks!
What a way to end the maintenance work, looks sick!👏
It really is!
The joseph is looking cool 👍👍👍 And very good editing too 😉
Thanks 😁
The paint job is the cherry on the cake 👍
Good job bro 👌
For me, it’s not « Joseph », it’s « the BIG yellow monster »😅
Big yellow hunk of metal also works
Wow! Joseph is pretty badass:) nice work
Very!
Man, der ist ja wie Neu! Hoffe die Arbeit hat sich gelohnt und er hält noch sehr lange.👏👍🤗
Lets hope 😇 danke
Awesome video and great job on the crawler!
Thanks 👍
BROSEPH! :D
That paint and maintenance did wonders :)
An Idea would be to put some rear view mirrors on him?
Hahaha. Moms are the same "NO YOU ARE NOT BRINGING THAT HOME! Or at least you are not parking it where the heighbours can see it!!!"
So that's whu I have my own house :D
Makeshift roof is great. It will spare Broseph of the worst weather.
Also great type of paint. Painted a fireplace and it came out perfect (but you should ensure temp never goes above 80 to be sure)
Hehe. Thanks
Always nice to see a KGB dozer video.
More to come!
Great Job! Looks good! Interesting Videos.
Thank you! Cheers!
Fixing something previously owned is basically throwing yourself into a pile of trash bags, if you're lucky it's soft stuff, but if not you're gonna land on metal cans or something.
bunch of nails and donuts in my trash bag
WOW what a great video and fantastc job on the "Soviet Centaur" , now you can put a racing stripe on it and take it cross country racing !!! 👀🏁
Great idea lol
Damn, that looks great, loved the series!
Thanks
Ants, Big Yellow is a brilliant project 👍👍👍🎉💥
Glad you enjoyed
Yes I think you should build a cover for it. That thing looks brand new
Yup
You could just put a tire valve on fuel cap it would be weatherproof, and also hold pressure. Plus you can check pressure
The cap has to breath or else the tank will collapse from the vacuum produced by the injector pump.
@@willwade1101 it don’t need to breath when your trying to prime the fuel
@@willwade1101 then you take the valve core out when it’s primed , problem solved
@@puppyduppy9811The best solution is a cap for pressurizing the tank and one for running the dozer.
@@willwade1101 whatever you say chief
