  • The crochet moss stitch produces a thinner fabric than other stitches making it perfect for when you need a great drape. Plus it's reversible so it looks great from both sides.

    thank you soooo much! i’ve watched so many moss stitch tutorials, but i always ended up off on the edges and i was becoming so confused and frustrated. you are the only one that finally explained how to do it. thank you 🙏🏼 ❤

      This is exactly what I was going to write, so I'll just piggyback on to yours. I can't tell you how many tutorials I've watched on moss stitch, looking for one that made the end of the row come out consistent each time. Thank you so much - I was about to give up and decide I'd never make anything using the moss stitch. And if you change colors each row, it's really pretty!

    Very good tutorial; there are some shockers online, yours was the best in my humble opinion.

      Same here! I kept making a blanket with this stitch and wasn't getting even sides and didn't know what I was doing wrong! 3 other tutorials I watched were SO confusing. This one was so great- detailed explanation and I can see her hands and the movements

    A simple tip for this variation. Note on what side your Tail End (tail from slip knot). This variation is very much recommended.
    If you start your row opposite the Tail End, you start with Single Crochet (US) then a chain, ending that row with a chain then Single Crochet.
    If you start your row on the same side where your Tail End is, you start with two consecutive Single Crochet and end with two consecutive Single Crochet.

    Thank you for all your tutorials. I have been using this stitch to make blankets with bulky yarn. The blankets come out nice and warm.

    Thank you for this excellent tutorial. Quick question - I’ve been trying to work a flat circle in this stitch, but can’t figure out the increases. Do you know of any linen stitch in the round tutorials? All the ones I’m seeing are they other type of “in the round”, where the fabric forms a tube or cylinder, rather than a flat circle. I know this video is several years old, so fingers crossed that someone is still listening! Thank you 😊

    Thank you. May I ask does it have to be worked like this or does it look cgood on its side ie a rectangular pillow - chain the width rather than the length.

    Does the top still look like a chain? Just trying to figure out if this is basically just sc, chain 1, skip a stitch and sc and repeat. There isn't a different opening you put the hook in then sc? Its just that it was a chain the row before. Hope that makes sense

  • @belayasova
    @belayasova 2 роки тому

    when you start making your initial chain, are you counting the very first loop you tied?

    I have bern enjoying your stitch and blanket tutorials, and have bern saving my favorites.
    This tutorial was great, but I would like to suggest that you use a bigger yarn. This one was a little hard to see.. Thank you.

      When you get to the end of the row, skip the last stitch and turn.

    HELP: At 3:35 (Row 2 she calls it), she makes SC into first chain but does NOT CH1. Then continues into chain one space. Can someone help? Am I to skip the chain one for all or row 2's? That you so much !!

    • @andthedragon
      @andthedragon 4 роки тому +1

      I can't remember where I heard / read where she said this (IG perhaps?), but doing it this way creates a cleaner, straighter edge. It's this difference at the beginning that makes it a 2-row repeat. HTH

    I like your tutorial. However, you should stress that you don't have to chain one between the two single crochets that are side by side.
