As a teenager of the 70's I look back and feel I was lucky to hear new albums from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Genesis, etc when they were first released and not classics we see them now.
If you have seen Thor Ragnarok this song plays in the beginning of the movie. The studio version of this song is only about 2 and a half minutes long. Such a legendary song and nice to see this live performance. Great reaction Biss!!❤🤘
Yes, Valhalla. This was inspired by a Led Zeppelin trip to Iceland and is written about the Viking invasion of England. "Valhalla I am coming" "On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore" "We come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun, where the hot springs flow" "We are your overlords" Not exactly pleasant lyrics, but it's what happened. Bloody invasion by men in longboats who wielded axes.
It was about the People of the North, the Germanic Peoples, from their experiences when they first burst on the Scene outside of England, (in America it was Boston) then in Northern Europe, Northern Germany, (there is a Home Movie they made of their Travels) Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and Norway, and you know this story, they had to change their Name because of the Zeppelin Family objected to it use without consent, Countess Von Zeppelin eventually consented.
As you now know, this great song was used in the Thor films, my daughter got into Zeppelin because of this and it made me glow with pride 😊 Excellent live version, not heard or seen it before, Bonham was a great drummer for sure.
One of the most iconic intros.. probably heard it in movies or something. I never saw led zepplin in concert (not old enough), but I did get to see Robert Plant and they played this song. Legendary voice.
Yeah😅, I play this as request to a bunch of 20’ish year olds , they immediately have a smile on their face and recall with delight that they remember this song from Shrek, they just never knew the band that sang this song ,BTW am 56 years old 😢 😅
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo from 2011. Worked so well for that trailer considering where it was set. Plenty of other recent films too. Such a great song.
This and Stairway to Heaven are probably the top well-known LZ tracks. Immigrant Song has been used in several movies and shows from School of Rock to Thor Ragnarok. I would have been surprised if it hadn't sounded a little familiar.
Mr.SmithGNR Smith Nonsense. Stairway wasn't stolen. Zeppelin won the court case. TWICE. Jimmy Page proved he already played an opening very similar to Stairway when he was guest guitarist on a song called Ice Cream Dreams by a band called Cartoone. This was in 1968 BEFORE Led Zeppelin ever went to America age shared a bill with Spirit a few times. The chord progression is as old as the hills. It goes back hundreds of years. Spirit didn't invent them. 😂
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 OMFG dude. It went to court and it was found it wasn't. It's only like the first 4 notes are the same anyway. The freaking song is over 50 years old and no one EVER heard of the other song except for this law suit. And the other song pretty much sux if you ever heard it. Even the dude who wrote the other song never sued Zeppelin over it. His family did after he died on a money grab attempt that failed. Get over it all ready. It never ceases to amaze me why people who don't like something, will click on it just to hate on it. If I don't like something, I don't listen/watch it. It says volumes about you that you enjoy doing this. Haters gonna hate.
@1sdburns , I was there mate and saw it plus went to Melbourne to see them at Kooyong. Amazing and bloody loud. The sound was mixed in LA {USA} but yep the Sydney and Melbourne Gigs were stunning
I was 11 when I heard the studio version of this song on the radio. That was the moment I became a metalhead, and I've never liked back. They were my favorite band for 30 years. I then heard Opeth in 2001, and they became my favorite band, and in 2021, I found Lovebites. They are now my favorite band ever, and I'm not sure if that will ever change.
So I wasa 12 years old then. I never saw LZ ion concert but, have seen Robert Plant a few times with various solo projects, and one that RP and JP toured together.
I have seen both led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath live. Along with Stevie Ray Vaughan b.b. King Boston rat. Iron maiden Peter Frampton Metallica. Quiet riot. Ozzy Osbourne. Excetera. I wish I would have seen Cancerbero. He was the best of us in hip Hop. Please react to him. Gracias mamita😊
Thor Ragnarök, and in the lyrics are line like " hammer of the gods" and "Valhalla ,I am coming"... my absolute Zeplin song , a real war song in my opinion.
I was there, I was 17 at the time...The film footage taken from the band's performance at the Sydney Showground in Australia in February 1972; The audio track was from a Long Beach Arena show, in Los Angeles, in 1972.
Robert plant and jimmy page also have a band called "the honeydrippers".. My favorite song is 'I got woman', a cover song from the famous rock n roll singer in the 50s 'Elvis Presley'
1972 there were no personal computers. No cell phone existed. No drum machines. To have an adequate sound system in a stadium was a rather new and unique thing.
Hey Miss Biss awesome way to react to led zeppelin.getting the lead out really gets the blood flowing. From all of Biss Nation your AMAZING 😝😜🤪🤩AMAZING!!!!!
"Immigrant Song" is probably the Zep song that is most famous for its use in movies. It was used in "School of Rock," "Shrek the Third," and "Thor: Ragnarok." It always catches the ear and is a highlight whenever it is used.
I think it's also been done on Shrek, Trent reznor did a cover version as well for Girl W.The Dragon Tattoo as well - think it was also in a commercial or two as well
You pretty girl have selected a fine video of Zeppelin live. Robert had the voice and the hair. I hope you enjoy it!!! Back sometime in the mid-1980's I saw Robert perform as a solo artist. The man can sing!!!!! The one part you mentioned may be the intro. to a music show on TV. Rock on lady...................

Of all of their songs, this has been my favorite since I was a kid some years ago. Not for the popularity of it but waaaaay before it became a theme for Thor and the marvel universe
You mentioned they didn't have synthesizers in 1972. I suggest you check out Emerson, Lake, & Palmer's albums from '70 and '71. Keith Emerson was a keyboard genius and one of the early masters of the Moog synthesizer and he was not the first.
The begining of classic rock music started with Zeppelin and nearly 60 years later still considered the greatest rock band. I saw them live in 1977. Pontiac Silverdome. Pontiac, Michigan

You may have heard it if you ever watched Thor Ragnarok. Hey Biss! If you want to see the other version of the same coin after Led Zeppelin. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant founded a duet band, and they explosion together. I indicate the "Unledded The Truth Explodes" from No Quarter Album. They have a live video clip on youtube, played in the middle of the street in one city in the middle-east. Heart used the base riff in the song Barracuda as well, which is played in the Shrek movie.
Shrek as well
It's also in School of Rock with Jack Black.
@@JoeMon491 been a long time since I’ve seen that movie. Need to watch it again. Such a good movie.

Definitely need more Led Zeppelin reactions. They (and Black Sabbath) are the godfathers of heavy metal.
AND DEEP PURPLE :>)
have a look at Budgie
They were heavy rock not heavy metal
