I saw them live in 1977. It was the best concert I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of classic rock bands live.
Hey Bisscute, you should never be sorry for expressing your excitement and happiness. Because it is contagious and you spread that to us all. Thank you dear!! ❤
We know what she’s feeling, I love watching the reactions of the newcomers to Led Zeppelin, especially those you know are really feeling it. So many of them find it hard explaining how the music makes them feel, yet it still makes us feel that way, all these years later. Hopefully they will keep enjoying Led Zeppelin for another 50 plus years.
This was written in part as a tribute to Joni Mitchell. If you notice the singing style, where he raises the end of the lines, that's a Joni signature, as are the acoustic guitar and mandolin. "She plays guitar and sings...." Beautiful.
Led Zeppelin is truly amazing. I was in high school when they hit town . They didn't advertise. Their music was their their advertisement. They were Rock Gods and I was a mere mortal. 😊😊😊
I love your enthusiastic response to the different parts and players. They are all very special in rock and roll. The greatest rock and roll band of all time. Robert Plant was really pitch perfect.
Biss sweetie, the one take thing and no editing is rather evident by the "wine" outburst. 🤣Keep doing YOU and we will keep being here. As always, BIG HUGS and lots of ❤.
This has to be one of the most honest/best reactions to this song ever, I loved it! BTW, i think when Jimmy page looks over at John Paul Jones and smiles at 3:25, it's because JPJ threw in something unexpected in that moment. I love those little moments! Also you are so pretty 😍
I agree that this showcases Robert Plant's talents well. He has amazing stage presence and charisma. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones(playing mandolin here but usually on bass guitar) were both top notch, and had played together a lot, they worked together as studio musicians for hire prior to forming this band. So you take that solid foundation and Robert Plant on top.. So good! Thanks for the reaction!
Led Zeppelin were such a diverse band musically, and acoustic folk songs were a huge part of their catalog... Here, u saw the band playing a mini-acoustic set in their concerts (which would run 3 hrs)... When "Whole lotta love" became a hit in 1969, Zeppelin did not want to be categorized as a "heavy rock" band only... Robert Plant (vocals) and Jimmy Page (guitar) were huge fans of folk artists like CSNY, Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez... so they recorded the 3rd album 'Led Zeppelin III' in 1970 w/ mostly acoustic songs... 'Tangerine'... "Gallow's pole"... 'Friends'... etc. Of course, the Zeppelin fans did not like the album initially... they wanted another "Whole lotta love" ... and the critics in the press hated the band... hated the album... even hated on their fans! That was why they recorded their 4th album (technically 'Led Zeppelin IV') w/ no title... no band name on the cover... no band photo... and 4 symbols representing each of the 4 members of Led Zeppelin. That record would sell 24 million copies in the US alone, w/ 'Stairway to Heaven' becoming a huge hit on radio... but it also had diverse songs like the acoustic "Going to California"... "The Battle of Evermore"... the psychedelic 'Four sticks'... the heavy rock of "Black dog"... 'Rock and roll' ... and the trippy "Misty Mountain Hop"... 🤘🤘🔥🔥Led Zeppelin made the rule in 1971: u want to see the band? Come to see them in concert... and fans sold out their shows in huge numbers. This show in Earl's Court, London in 1975 was filmed... one of the few Led Zeppelin shows to be captured on camera. It also came before the band's tragedies began piling on them... Zeppelin did a huge US tour in early 1975, but Robert Plant had the flu... Jimmy Page had a broken finger, and still had to play. Page also began using heroin at the time... John Bonham (drums) was drinking heavily... But the European tour seen here was good in the summer of 1975. But when the band was on vacation in the fall, Robert Plant and his wife Maureen were involved in a near-fatal car accident in Greece... Both survived, thankfully... but Plant's ankle was smashed and he was confined to a wheelchair while recovering - all Zeppelin tour dates had to be cancelled. Robert Plant would not get back on stage w/ Led Zeppelin until 1977.
Zepp’s infatuated little musical love-note to the angelic singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell, whose music and glowing spirit had completely captivated them.
I'd just moved to London in 1975 with my first job and had a bedsit next to the Earls Court Exhibition Centre. I went out to look at some flats and a guy was selling tickets for the LZ concerts next door. I had not been paid so could not buy one. I got back about an hour later and the guy was still selling tickets. I explained my dilemma (no money !). He said, not to worry - have a ticket. So that is how I got in to see this performance.
I've been rocking out to Led Zeppelin since the beginning! There one of my favorite bands. Especially when I was on psychedelics. Even being down to earth they are incredible!!!!

During this performance, you were saying that Robert Plant has so much talent. You are correct. But in my opinion, the most talented is John Paul Jones the bass player. He's a killer on the base. Listen to the bass line in The Lemon Song and you'll know. But he also plays the organ. In this song, the mandolin. He is a world class blue grass mandolin player. Then there's Bonzo, John Bonham. The greatest rock drummer. His beats and drum fills are legendary. Never forget Jimmy Page, a guitar god.
you have to remember they were playing and singing about their experiences touring the states back in the day. Singing about going to California where the woman wore flowers in their hair and how they loved them. The hippy days with the groupies.
