Bat out of hell is one of the few albums that I love every single song. His best song ever is "For crying out loud." No one ever seems to mention this song. But it was both Meat Loaf's and Jim Steinman's favorite out of all the songs they did together. They were both musical geniuses that left us far too soon. R.I.P. to both. And Cliff you have such a beautiful soul. I love all of your reactions. I pray a special blessing comes your way. You've helped me through the worst 8 months of my life. Thank you.
That is also my favorite song ever!!!! For crying out loud💜💜💜 I’m so glad someone else also loves that song!!! I thought I was they only one😔 So thank you for your comment🥰🥰🥰
Meatloaf was so ahead of his time. He combined rock and Theatre to perfection thus paving the way for bands like Nightwish to create Symphonic Rock/Metal. May he Rest Calm and in Peace
Oh My Gosh! I love that your generation is hearing Meatloaf now. I love that your dad is an 80’s rocker like me! Please do the song that put Meatloaf on the map…Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Thanks!
meatloaf is easily one of my favorite artists of all time. But even if you don't react to it, everything written by Jim Steinmann is worth enjoying. he did total eclipse of the heart and so many songs that you've heard and never attributed to him.
I'm glad you did this for your father! Some musical nerdiness for you: Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman (the writer) created a genre of music called Wagnerian Rock because the structure is like classic Wagner (Most Wagner pieces begin huge, jumping right into the good stuff, then it backs off a bit before hitting you again. It's very dramatic and very over the top in terms of composition and style; yes I'm simplifying or this would be a music history text). Arguably, Wagner's most famous composition is "Ride of the Valkyries" if that helps. If not, check it out, it's immortal.
It’s so weird that a song I grew up on is perceived in a totally different way because of Disney. But honestly kudos to them for reviving such a beautiful song for another generation.
This is one of his most famous songs. It's in so many commercials. I remember it being in several Dr. Pepper ads back years ago. Have you ever watched Rocky Horror Picture Show? He was in that movie singing "Hot Patootie" In case you didn't Google it this was released in 1993, buy he was already big in the 70s so most definitely could've influenced your dad. I know he must appreciate you doing this for him
Some of my favorites that also have great music videos are Paradise by the Dashboard Lights, Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad, and You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth.
I was going to say his other well-known song is probably Paradise by the dashboard lights, I joke if you're of a certain age and have not had relations to one of meatloaf songs I'm not sure what's wrong with you 😂
This song still gives me goosebumps 30 years after I first heard it and watching someone else experience this song and Meatloaf for time is awesome. Listen to the full 12min album version, it’s another level again
I love that you are into lyrics, I am too! Jim Steinman wrote most of Meat Loaf's songs. He also wrote for Celine Dion, Air Supply, Barry Manilow, Bonnie Tyler. And his lyrics are amazing! That being said Meat's voice was perfect for Steinman and he got what Steinman was trying to do!
I'm a NYC hip hop head but when this video first came out I recorded it right along with my B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes videos on my VCR. This song was well produced and engineered in the studio
...And some kind of alien thing...Magic...just absolutely astounding, what the production was able to do for just a music video back then! It tells and ENTIRE story, they could totally pick this apart and create an entire full-length movie based on this video and song. Amazing.
I love this song "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" Meat Loaf looks and sounds so fragile his performance touches the soul, he's one of a kind, one in a million, master of rock opera. He left us too soon but he leaves an invaluable legacy in music... Rest in peace dear Meat Loaf.
I am glad you stepped out of your hip hop box and gave Meat Loaf a listen. We like what we like, so I understand! It is always nice to see people experience something new. But I suspect your father was impacted by Meat Loaf for much more than the "monster." You have to give BAT OUT OF HELL, PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHT, and HEAVEN CAN WAIT a listen.
One of my favorites from Meatloaf was For Crying Out Loud. His music means very much to me, as it was a favorite of myself and the love of my life, which I lost last year from Covid complications. RIP Meat, you were a true legend!!
Objects in the Rearview Mirror and It's All Coming Back to Me Now are two of my favorites. Thanks for the Meat Loaf tributes. He was a truely great performer and very underrated by the industry.

I just came across your channel tonight, I watch so many reaction videos that I don't understand why it took so long. Consider me subscribed.
Gotta listen to the full album version of this song. The radio/video edit cuts so much out. It's 12 minutes of pure operatic rock genius and worth every second. Longer instrumental breaks, a couple verses that are shortened in this, and 2 more verses from Lorraine Crosby. Everyone deserves to hear this song in its full glory.
So far as I remember, and I was there to hear him sing this. He said he will not ever say what it was that he would not do. He will be missed by soooo many of us ol'folk. ❤
1993. I think it was a couple of years after Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the Beauty and the Beast Disney movie. As far as the video and the song, I can’t emphasize how big of a comeback this was for Meat Loaf. He had an epic first album in 1977 but then just went away for15 years. Just as out of popularity as can be until this came out and then it exploded and went number one in like 30 countries. I’d love to know what went on behind the scenes at the record company b/c somebody had the foresight to put some money behind this and take a chance on a down and out artist that deserved some recognition.
His version of the Star Spangled Banner is iconic. He is classically trained but loved the rock genre so much he basically brings epic opera to rock like no other. If you haven’t seen The Rocky Horror Picture show, Meatloaf plays Eddie and just SLAYS the role. If you don’t want to watch the whole film, check out Hot Patootie Bless My Soul which he sings in the movie.

Beauty and beast theme. If you're into lyrics you might like the longer version with "lyrics only" that includes a middle verse not included in this video. Not sure why the middle verse wasn't included in the video other than it is a long and they didn't want to make video longer.. but song is great.
I'm so glad you did a reaction to this song. Meatloaf has been a huge part of my life from high school to today. It's been the soundtrack to a large part of my life. I'm convinced that you can find a Meatloaf song for any emotion. He made me feel that I wasn't alone in my feelings and in a way gave me permission to feel the emotions instead if stuffing them down. I'm heartbroken he's gone, but watching some of the reactions on his songs has been a bit like therapy for me. Thank you for this. Also, I'd recommend the following Meatloaf songs: Objects In The Rearview Mirror Read 'em and Weep The Razor's Edge The Monster's Loose Blind As A Bat Seize the Night You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth Cry Over Me Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through Paradise By The Dashboard Light The Future Just Ain't What It Used To Be I'm Gonna Love Her For Both of Us Bat Out of Hell All of those are good ones. Those are just a few that I would recommend to start with.
Thanks for looking out. Especially for us old timers who grew up with Meatloaf on the radio. And...why havent you heard of him...you have now. Sorry Hip Hop Boi. Tip. Of. The. Iceberg. See you on the otherside. 🤜💢🤛
Music back then told stories. Most music today is manufactured sex driven lyrics played where our kids hear. I'm glad u listened to ur Dad & took a chance on this song!🎶💕✌🏼
Your dad sounds like the BEST. Just found your channel tonight (through Meatloaf and Johnny Cash). I don't listen to hip-hop, which is exactly why I've subscribed to you: your opinions on other genres come across as much more genuine. Would love you to do ABBA :-P
The Doors, Meat Loaf, and to a certain extent Queen and KISS are what I consider theatrical rock. Meat Loaf called it "dramatic rock". Jim Steinman who was on the piano/keyboards, wrote all of the music for Meat Loaf. Steinman and Meat Loaf, for all their issues with each other over the years, are the other half of each other. When Jim Steinman died at the beginning of Covid lockdown in 2020, it broke Meat Loaf's heart that he couldn't be with Jim in the hospital. And then, Meat Loaf died of other health issues that were complicated by covid. Meat Loaf was from Dallas, Texas and credits sports for straightening out his path in life. After his mom died of cancer, his dad (who was always abusive) came at him with a knife and tried to kill him so he left home. He made his way to California and was doing musical productions and theater productions before he got his got his first credited role in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Working in theater productions is where he met Jim Steinman. "“Since I met Jim, he has been the centerpiece to my life,, and I was always the centerpiece of his. Jim couldn’t do anything or go anywhere that I wasn’t with him or I wasn’t there. Anything he did, they talked about me. Anything I did, they talked about Jim. And I didn’t care. I wanted that.” - Meat Loaf
He had a hell of a voice and dude was funny as hell saw him at a concert sometime in the early 00's and sound equipment failure and he did like a stand up routine was great.
Masterpiece doesnt even feel like it covers it. This was the 1st song my 1st love (R.I.P.) ever played for me on his uncles piano. Been a Meatloaf-er ever since
"Paradise By the Dashboard Light" (You have to react to the "Live" Video) "Two Out of Three Aint Bad" "Bat Out of Hell" "Heaven Can Wait" All fantastic songs by Meat Loaf. Written by the late great Jim Steinman, Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell Album has sold 43 million copies and is certified 14x Platinum.
Great reaction, kudos to your dad for suggesting Meatloaf in memory of him. If you want to check ✔️ out another great Meatloaf song, Paradise by the dashboard lights, is awesome and tells another great story (entertaining and funny). I'm sure your dad has heard of it.
i discovered Meatloaf when I was 6 years old. Found his Bat Out Of Hell Album in an old cd rack my parents had and was just amazed by the cover art, and decided to have a listen. i spent weeks just replaying that album at home or listening to it on my portable walkman when going to school. got a few more albums around my 8th birthday and have never turned back. R.I.P to an absolute legend
so many songs of his are worth listening to. The magic is in the lyrics. please take a listen to "Bat Out of Hell" and / or "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth". Jim Steinman wrote most of the Songs Meatloaf performed. It sounds like Steinman's motto was everything louder than everything else. There is over the top and then there is Jim Steinman. Both of them will be missed.
Yeah it is crazy how many times I have said, "this song is a banger," and it ends up being a steinman song. Legitimately the only celine dion song I like is written by him.
This was the song that introduced me to Meat Loaf in 1993 - and I think these days that it was Jim Steinman's magnum opus and the best song Meat's done. Much in the same vein is "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" - of which I think Céline Dion did it best, although Meat did record a version himself.
your the first person iv seen that spoke on the dracula scene which is awesome it was inspired by the movie the song came out the following year in 93 Great reaction man love the channel and it says a lot about you giving time and care to people who may need it the world needs more of that
Thank you for not making the normal complaint of "What is the that he won't do?" As a lyrics person, certainly you realized the last line of each verse are things he won't do, plus the conversation at the end.
Ahhh i just found you've done meatloaf! Paradise by the dashboard lights is my complete favourite. So so sad he died. Childhood was meatloafand queen. Please please 🙏 do more meatloaf please 🙏
Meatloaf was the voice to the soundtrack to my teenage years. Rock Opera voice with the lyrics of Jim Steinmen. Hot Summer nights, Paradise, Two out of Three... anything by him. RIP Meatloaf - but the music will live forever 🖤
I mourn with your Dad. The Loaf was the shit. Try "Its all coming back to me now" Same director as this video. All of Meat's songs are great. Tell your Dad an old man said hello.
Are you talking about Quick Change the metal-thrash Band??? "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights", Two out of Three ain't Bad", "Bat out of Hell", "Objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are" is really emotional. Just so many and they all feel like watching a movie!
You took the words right out of my mouth..two out of three aint bad..paradise by the dashboard lights are all incredible❤I subscribed.Much love from Canada❤🇨🇦
He was incredible! I remember the days skating at our local Skate-land to this song, and just hoping a boy would ask me to hold his hand skating 🤣 so many memories ❤️ I always thought of beauty and the beast as well!
RIP Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman - I bet you two are making new music right now, and your contribution to music will live on here on this side. I so understand why you laughed, if you look at more of Meat Loafs music videos it is like a mini movie, so are the lyrics too.
This is by far the best display of how a average mans love for a woman never get shared because it gets seen as a weakness by todays women and is emotionally devastating if reveled because you are seen as disposable and replaceable. Meatloaf was the best damn performer I have ever seen ! Beast

I'm heartbroken he's gone, but watching some of the reactions on his songs has been a bit like therapy for me. Thank you for this. Also, I'd recommend the following Meatloaf songs:
Objects In The Rearview Mirror
Read 'em and Weep
The Razor's Edge
The Monster's Loose
Blind As A Bat
Seize the Night
You Took the Words Right Out of My
Mouth
Cry Over Me
Rock And Roll Dreams Come
Through
Paradise By The Dashboard Light
The Future Just Ain't What It Used To Be
I'm Gonna Love Her For Both of Us
Bat Out of Hell
All of those are good ones. Those are just a few that I would recommend to start with.
The Razor s Edge é um clássico a parte. .. que música, cara.....eternamente Meat Loaf.
You gotta listen to the full 12 minute version to really appreciate this song and his talent
Also the song was released in 1993
Your dad sounds like the BEST. Just found your channel tonight (through Meatloaf and Johnny Cash). I don't listen to hip-hop, which is exactly why I've subscribed to you: your opinions on other genres come across as much more genuine. Would love you to do ABBA :-P
I will do all content and artist. Send some songs over 😊
The Doors, Meat Loaf, and to a certain extent Queen and KISS are what I consider theatrical rock.
Rip meatloaf. Such a great singer
Jim Steinman’s writing and Meatloaf’s voice and stage presence were a match made in heaven.
@@impossiblyindecisive Wait, which song? I love Steinman's stuff but I had no idea he wrote for Celine. That's COOL!
@@impossiblyindecisive Wait, let me guess...'It's All Coming Back To Me Now'? That would seem like his style... :)
@@jamescurfman3284 yeah it is! Great guess
For Crying Out Loud is a beautiful Meat Loaf song! 🙏❤️
Objects in the rear view mirror is an ABSOLUTE must...watch the video
My fiance and I do, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," at karaoke. He has too many bangers!
Lol, that's our go to for Karaoke too
This is prob my favorite song by him....RIP Meatloaf! I remember when this song came out! 😁 Yes, I know I'm old! lol
Ok I just saw you have dont paradise! Yay! More more please..
Bat out of hell?
2 out of 3 aint bad
Yes. Circus of Death. My dad was the lead singer.
RIP TO THE LEGEND MEATLOAF WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!😭
Objects in the rear view mirror...excellent song.
You had me laughing my ass off when the chair slid away as well
RIP Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman - I bet you two are making new music right now, and your contribution to music will live on here on this side.
Beast
Masterpiece.
RIP legend. 🦇
Great reaction. I agree paradise by the dashboard light
If you liked the line "Would you hose me down with holy water if I get to hot" you might also like some of the lyrics in Alice Cooper - Poison ☠️👍
