Wifey gets it! Loves Meatloaf exactly because of what he is! He is a theater, performer and singer. Known for his acting ability. He was in many stage shows and a few movies including the movie Rocky horror picture show.
Sebastian Bach is also a rock singer who did Broadway... and then also Gilmore Girls, and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life! He's still out there touring with his son now!
The story in the song is that he started out loving a woman who left him while saying "I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever going to love you". She broke his heart, and took his love with her, and later, he winds up saying that same line to a woman, because the pain of his broken heart is keeping him from being able to love and commit.
@@dutovdevlich3781I don't think so. He says in the song as he's talking to his woman, that there was someone in his past that told him those things, and it made him unable to love this other woman. He still loved the other woman who didn't love him back.
Wife is right! First and foremost, Meatloaf was a performer. I saw him in San Antonio on the Bat Out Of Hell tour, and there wasn't another band opening. Instead, they showed Rocky Horror Picture Show. Then Meat came out and proceeded to blow us away. As part of the show he jumped, climbed on the piano, and collapsed on the stage "requiring" oxygen. A memorable night!
I love how your wife totally gets Meatloaf and who he was - and yes - open her eyes and mind to more. That entire album is fantastic. We love wifey!! XO
Your wife is fantastic! Beautiful, angelic but tough as nails! Great reaction by both of you! Meatloaf was so very blessed with talent but left us too soon!
I love your wife doing reactions with you!! The best Meat Loaf love song by all accounts is "For Crying Out Loud". All songs by Meat Loaf are great, but that one is the best!
He is an actor and prefers to be called rock opera singer. He was terribly abused by his father and his father called him meat loaf and for some reason he kept it! Such a nice guy!! 😢😢
Need to show her the video of Meat Loaf doing: “PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS “ that is really something!! Very theatrical!! Wifey loves theatrics so she’ll love this one!! He really puts on a show!!!
I'm right there with the wifey - I love Meat Loaf too. One of the most amazing and passionate performers of all time and his heart and soul in each performance. He once said in an interview '"Most of these rock stars make it look so easy up there on stage. I make it look hard!" For another amazing story-song by him: "Objects in the Rear View Mirror" That one might make her cry a bit. One of the most powerful ballads I've ever heard. His singing and performances were legendary. She said "I FREAKIN love Meat Loaf"
Jim Steinman (piano) wrote all of the songs on this album. Unfortunately, we lost both of them within a few of months of each other.😇😇😭😭 I still have this album on vinyl. "Yes, I know you're lookin' for a ruby in a mountain of rocks, but there ain't no coupe deVille hiding at the bottom of a crackerjack box".
Saw him in concert 4-5 times, and he put his heart and soul into every song. The live version of I Would Do Anything For Love is performance art at its best.
This is so very awesome. Love Meat Loaf and this song. Love when you put your wife in front of these songs. By the way she is so very beautiful! Love your reactions!
Wifey named it in my mind. meatloaf can really sing with emotion that brings out the song lyrics as a theatre production with the great story telling operatic voice. ❤❤
Bat Out of Hell I & II are filled to the brim with bangers. Each was produced by Jim Steinman who had the concept of doing a "Rock Opera" album. Meatloaf has always been one of my favorites.
Always special to see a real couple being themselves with humor , love and respect . Meatloaf is/was the complete Artist with his stage performances and INCREDIBLE VOCALS. it wasn't JUST a concert it was A SHOW ! 1970s 80s ALICE COOPER was the same when he doing his concert touring .
I had the chance to see him in Las Vegas back in 2014 during my honeymoon, and it was a memorable experience. Despite struggling to walk across the stage, his voice was truly remarkable. He delivered an incredible show that captivated everyone in the audience. He was such a talented performer, and his impact will always be remembered. Rest in peace.
My absolute favorite Meatloaf song! Cracked me up when she introduced herself 😂 and the surprised look on BP’s face. Hahahaha I get the definite impression y’all had a rough start, but look at you now. Beautiful family!
I saw Meat Loaf live and he described the genesis of this song - he and the songwriter, Jim Steinman, were hanging out with two of their actor friends after a show, and one of them, Mimi Kennedy (mom on Dharma and Greg, look it up, folks) heard Elvis's "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You" on the radio, and said, "Jimmy, you'll never write a song like that." Meat said Jim took only a second and said, "You're right. But I can write this: I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you. Don't be sad, 'cause two out of three ain't bad." The rest is history.
Oh, I’m waiting for the tears to start rolling lol! Your wife is right, of course! Always remember that! I discovered this band when it came out in junior high (middle school). He was fantastic with theatrical songs, just phenomenal
When this album came out and these songs started getting played on the radio it was like: WOW!!! Such passion and soul in the music. Wifey's so fun to watch react along with you ... awesome chemistry together! :)
I feel as if a part of my youth died with the passing of this wonderful entertainer and genuine human being. Marvin Lee Aday (Michael) AKA Meatloaf your musical performances will live on! Thanks for the decades of memories.
😂 Sir, your wifey‘s response was right on point with her reaction. Little do people know, meatloafs drama in all of his videos is a result of him being on Broadway for many many years. Just a fact, you may wanna know great response.
I have known about this song for a long time, and it wasn’t until recently on one of the reactions that someone mentioned he is singing about himself and what happened to him to the same girl who did it to him You can tell because it switches from telling her about the past to telling her about right now This song is legend
I was so excited to see this reaction show up and clicked on it immediately. BP was my introduction to reaction channels, and I keep coming back for more because he is authentic. Of course, I prefer some over others. But the interaction between BP and wifey (WP...haha!) are even better. Add to that the appreciation for Meatloaf - yaaay!! This reaction ranks tops of my favorites so far and would definitely love to see both of you react to more of the theatrical masterpieces put out by Meatloaf! 😁👏
Let’s talk about this. This song and album came out 48 years ago. So, 48 years later, I can watch a reaction video and the song still makes me cry. Some songs just stand the test of time. Some artists will not be forgotten. This one made his mark. And I’m grateful for these artists and their music. How lucky have we all been? Loved the reaction from you both ❤
The song itself is great as it tells the story of how pathological and contagious heart break can be. We meet the singer at the end of a relationship that cannot move forward because his heart is now cold and unloving. Someone broke his heart, he is breaking a heart, and his now, Ex girlfriend may be so hurt that she passes it on and on and on. All of that in a three-part country song, brilliant!
Now you have to show her Meat Loaf - I Would Do Anything for Love! Official Video Also she needs to see and hear Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back to Me Now .... Official Video
This song was Meat Loaf's first hit and came from the landmark "Bat Out of Hell" album. If your wife likes the way he performs, you should really check out one of his later hits called "I'd Lie For You, and That's The Truth." Watch the live concert version, the one where his singing partner (Patti Russo) is wearing the red dress. It's a great performance of a great song.
Meatloaf is one of the best performers EVER! You both need to check out “For Crying Out Loud”. Like most of his others it was written by Jim Steinman. Meatloaf says it was the most beautiful song ever written and his vocals in it WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!

I saw Meatloaf in concert in Pine Knot Might loaf Michigan and it was so great ! He did a 20 minute version of Paradise by the Dightboard Light! His daughter was his daughter was his background singer!

3 singers I remember my dad always talking about as I was growing up... Meatloaf, Michael Crawford, and Pavarotti. If you haven't heard of Michael Crawford don't worry I'm here to help. He played the Phantom in the original London cast of The Phantom Of The Opera. His voice is amazing, and to think before he got the role in The Phantom he was a comedy actor with little or no singing.
Wifey gets it! Loves Meatloaf exactly because of what he is! He is a theater, performer and singer. Known for his acting ability. He was in many stage shows and a few movies including the movie Rocky horror picture show.
I have seen Meatjoaf in concert and on Broadway...He is a rock opera singer...A big hearted man with such soul. RIP Meatloaf. We miss you.
Sebastian Bach is also a rock singer who did Broadway... and then also Gilmore Girls, and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life! He's still out there touring with his son now!
Can't deny the power of his presence and performance. He was one in a trillion. Actor, singer, he brought it all home for us.
I never heard of Meatjoaf. Thanks for the info. I'm gonna google him.
major jealous here - I am saddened that I never got to see him.

Wifey's self intro was amazing!
No, she didn't say she loved Meatloaf; she said, "I freakin love Meatloaf." 👏👏👏👏👏

He is an actor and prefers to be called rock opera singer. He was terribly abused by his father and his father called him meat loaf and for some reason he kept it! Such a nice guy!! 😢😢
Take the power back by using the insult to empower you.
Sometimes, in order to diminish the meaning, it's better to own it. Then it's yours to use as you want.
His high school football coach is the person who called him Meat Loaf.
I never heard that he had an abusive father. I'll have to confirm that. It was his coach who called him meatloaf.
He was a lovely man. Kindest heart. So talented.
Add another vote for Return of Lady Pegasus..especially with more Meatloaf.
Good to see the Missus is getting more relaxed and having fun.
